Abstract

Online libraries are a development of conventional libraries that can make it easier for readers to get information anywhere without having to come to where the library is located. The existence of this can be the right solution during the current pandemic. Completeness and continuous updates can be an important factor for achieving success in attracting user interest. Structural equation modeling (SEM) is a useful statistical test measure that is useful for being able to complete a study simultaneously through indicators that affect service quality and user satisfaction. The results in this study found that service quality had no effect on user satisfaction with a CR value of 1.246 and a p value of 0.213 while online libraries had an effect on user satisfaction with a CR value of 5.282 and a p value of 0.000.

Abstract

The increase in food production activities has led to a significant decline in the environmental quality, particularly affecting the surrounding river systems. This research addresses the need to identify and minimize various types of waste by integrating Lean and Green productivity concepts. The main objective is to reduce non-value-added (NVA) activities that contribute to both environmental degradation and inefficiencies in production. The study applies the Lean framework to identify seven types of waste in food production while also addressing green waste, such as excessive material use and energy consumption. Green Integration Value Stream Mapping (GIVSM) is utilized to assess the current state of value-added (VA) activities and to simulate improvements for future production systems. The initial analysis reveals a low VA of 1.5 hours due to inefficient customer information flow and prolonged loading times. Improvements are implemented by shifting the information system from a push to a pull strategy, significantly reducing production time and lowering both Lean and Green waste. The results demonstrate that integrating these concepts can enhance environmental performance and operational efficiency. This study provides valuable insights for food production companies seeking to balance productivity and sustainability.

Abstract

PT. KINI is a company engaged in the distribution of Indosat products. In the distribution process, there is often a shortage of stock for the Voucher type, and there is an excess stock for the SP type. The purpose of this research is to plan product needs before distribution, especially for products that often experience stock shortages. The application of the Double Exponential Smoothing forecasting method, and Distribution Requirement Planning are expected to overcome problems in the lack of fulfillment of product needs. The results of the research showed that the quantity of economical orders based on forecasting on V 3 in 1 products was 18,345 frequency of ordering 6 times, FI 1.5 GB of 11,715 frequency of ordering 4 times, FI 2.5 GB of 12,236 frequency of ordering 4 times, FI 5, 5 GB of 10,075 message frequencies 3 times, 3 GB FI of 11,874 message frequencies 4 times, and 9 GB FI of 6,566 message frequencies 2 times. The conclusions obtained from the development of the DES and DRP methods are the most economical order quantity, and the right time to order to overcome shortages in stock data voucher type products.

Abstract

One of the MSMEs engaged in the snack food sector and currently running is the taro chips business owned by Mr. Wahab which is located at Tambak Sari Village, Purwodadi Pasuruan, East Java. Business running for 1 year. Chips are snacks or snacks made from various ingredients such as flour and others, and also from tubers. Based on the results of interviews and observations obtained from consumers, the problem that is often complained of is the packaging used, which is thin plastic and easily torn or perforated. So that the condition of the chips is easily sluggish or not crispy. Kansei engineering is a technology that translates a customer's or consumer's feeling and image about a product which is then translated into design elements or in other languages, is a customer-oriented technology for product development based on computer science. The purpose of the Kansei engineering method is to make it easier for designers to gather consumer needs based on feelings or what can be called consumer psychology. The Kansei method will be integrated with the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to decide whether the new packaging is more feasible and good or not. The results showed that the packaging of taro chips was a simple design, bright color, and plastic material from the Kansei Engineering and AHP methods. The packaging is strong and durable so that it can maintain the crispness of the chips.

Abstract

Tofu is a food derived from soybeans which is then fermented to extract its juice. The problem that often occurs in the tofu industry is that the products produced still have a lot of defects. The purpose of this research is to identify the types of defects in tofu production and the causes of defects in tofu products and to improve product quality. The method used in this study is the seven tools method. Seven tools are 7 (seven) basic tools used to solve problems in production. The results of the research in the production process of SB tofu occurred 4 types of defects, namely defects in unequal size, defects in terms of texture, defects mixed with dirt and defects in color. The most dominant type of tofu SB defect is the type of size defect that is not the same with a percentage of 45.6%. This type of defect is caused by human, machine, material, method, and environmental factors.

Abstract

The development of logistics services that are increasing has caused an increase in customers of PT. Astrans Putra Logistik also increased, this resulted in the logistics warehouse capacity experiencing a buildup of goods that almost filled the warehouse capacity which made operational activities disrupted, and many complaints from customers. Resolution to overcome this warehouse problem needs to be done so that the company’s operational efficiency is not disrupted and warehouse stock capacity becomes better. This study aims to find out the best solution of warehouse problems that occur through a decision making support system design using the AHP method assisted by the use of the Expert Choice 11 application. In making this decision, 4 stages are carried out, namely Intelligence, Design, Choice, and Analysis of Assessment Result which in the process have a 4 kinds of criteria and 4 kinds of alternative solutions. From the calculation of the AHP method assisted by the use of the Expert Choice 11 application, the weight of each criterion was obtained, namely Increased Operational Efficiency getting a weight of 0,259, Number of Items that can be Accommodated getting a weight of 0,086, Company Income getting a weight of 0,495, and Company Expense getting a weight of 0,160. From the calculation of alternative settlements, it was also found that The Addition of a New Departure Fleet got a weight of 0,385, The Construction of Branch Goods Warehouse got a weight of 0,279, Upgrading Small Trucks to Large Trucks got a weight of 0,187, and The Application of a Pre-order system for customers got a weight of 0,149.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the most effective forecasting method for predicting raw material demand in the tin smelting industry, addressing the challenge of uncertainty in material arrival and inaccurate demand forecasting. Three methods, namely moving averages with n = 3 and n = 5, and exponential smoothing, were evaluated using historical data. Results indicate that exponential smoothing with α = 0.2 outperformed the other methods, yielding the smallest error rate with a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 23%, Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD) of 411, and Mean Squared Error (MSE) of 293303. The implication of these findings underscores the importance of employing appropriate forecasting techniques to optimize inventory management and mitigate shortages in critical industries reliant on volatile raw material supplies. Highlights : Accurate demand forecasting is crucial for companies engaged in smelting to prevent shortages and inventory increases. Three methods were used to determine the most appropriate forecasting method for raw material demand based on historical data: moving average with n = 3 and n = 5, and exponential smoothing with α = 0.2. The Exponential Smoothing Method with α = 0.2 had the smallest error rate, with a MAPE value of 23%, MAD of 411, and MSE of 293303, and can be used to optimize demand forecasting for the next period.
