Abstract

In improving the quality of a university, the role of students is very important, where students are expected to graduate on the right time. Of course, this condition is facilitated by the existence of a system for predicting the length of students study. This system is needed by students to find out whether students graduated on time or not. This system is implemented with length of Matlab 2016a software, by using the Backpropagation Method. This system predicts length of students study time based on input variables that have been provided. Then system processes with the Backpropagation Method and displays results, such as in the form of graduating on time or late. A total of 110 data of Electrical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, University of Riau Academic Year 2010 to 2014 are used in this study, consisting of 77 training data and 33 test data. The final result of this study is that the system can be used to predict the length of study of time students with a research level of 93%.Keywords : backpropagation

Abstract

Kuantan Singingi is one of the regencies in Riau Province which is visited by many tourists every year, this is because in Kuantan Singingi there is a ‘Pacu Jalur’ event that is held every year and this event is included in the National tourism calendar. With the inclusion of ‘Pacu Jalur’ in the National Calendar of Events causing many tourists both in the city, out of town and international tourists who come to visit Kuantan Singingi, therefore the purpose of this research is to develop tourism applications that can facilitate tourists to access tourist information in Kuantan Singingi This application uses the LBS service and can be used via android. The stages of designing this tourism application using the Waterfall method. Waterfall is a systematic and sequential development model that links one phase to another in sequence. This research resulted in an Android-based Kuantan Singingi Tourism App that can be used by tourists to find information about tourism in Kuantan Singingi. Abstract

SMA Negeri 1 Kampar Timur is one of schools in Kampar regency which every year conducts the selection of majors for their students routinely. Selection of this majors intends students can complete their education in accordance with their interests and abilities before proceed to a higher level. Currently, process of major selection in the Senior High School Level has some weaknesses. For example, process needs a long time and the obtained results are less accurate because many mistake can be happened thar caused no special available system based on a computer to support the calculation to help in determining the majors. In this research, using PHP programming system and Mysql database as database server with Simple Additive Weighting Method (SAW) by using some criterion, suck as previous subject values in Junior High School (Natural Sciences and Social Sciences), the result of enterance test in the Senior High School, students interest, parents and counseling guidance teacher advice are used in this research. Final result of this research is a decision that is able to assist process of choosing the majors in SMA Negeri 1 Kampar Timur. Result of system test accuracy obtained is 93.18% of the 352 data tested. It indicates that Decision Support System can work successfully according to Simple Additive Weighting Method (SAW).Keywords : Decision Support Systems, Selection Majors Criteria, Simple Additive Weighting.

Abstract

WSN applications have been widely used in recent years. In a very complex wsn application, a routing protocol is mandatory for a WSN network system. Among the communication protocols that have been developed to date, hierarchical protocols are the most widely used type of routing. PEGASIS is one of the many types of protocols that apply the hierarchcal protocol principle. In this study, the PEGASIS protocol will be implemented on the Arduino platform for the fingerprint attendance system, where NRF24L01 is used as the radio transceiver module. Testing of QoS in the form of packet loss, transfer speed, delay, power consumption and memory usage are indicators of the feasibility of this system. After testing, it was found that the delivery packet loss was 0%, the transfer speed ranged from 4.22 - 12.92 Kbps, the resulting delay was 2.92 - 5.54 ms. The power consumption of 23 devices a day is 463.49 Joules. From the results that have been obtained, the system developed is feasible to be implemented in a real way.   Keywords: WSN, PEGASIS, QoS

Abstract

Chemistry is considered a science that is quite difficult and uninteresting to learn for many students. One of the causes is the lack of interest in the student's attention to the learning process in chemistry. The use of information and communication technology is an effective and efficient way to improve the quality of the learning process and outcomes in schools. A learning media is created in which modules with magazine models are combined with an Augmented Reality (AR) technology application to facilitate the students to understand the subject matter, especially chemistry. This application implements the Marker Based Tracking and Markerless Augmented Reality methods. Some application design stages are such as collecting data about modules, interface design, database, information displayed, and building applications into Android package (Apk). The tools such as Unity 3D, Vuforia Object Scanner, Vuforia SDK, Android SDK, Java Development Kit, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere Pro are used to build this application. The result shows that the Androidbased Augmented Reality application can successfully display more information on the modules that are available in the form of videos about the additional explanation of the thermochemical material. Abstract

Application based on web can be interpreted as a program in the form of software on a particular system. Application is useful to help various activities carried out by human. CV. Cipta Sejahtera is a company engaged in the sale of various building items. The company is still using Manual Methods of Managing Data using Handwritten Accounting. The manual data collection process takes a long time, data duplication occurs by human error. Besides it reporting is often too late because it requires a long time due to having to recapitalize data on goods and data on goods expenditure. This company still does not use a system that can predict sales. The used method in this study to predict sales is Naive Bayes Methode. The Naïve Bayes method can predict goods automatically is classified as the best-selling, selling or not in demand by graphical form. This application can also order items directly on the web using Email. This application is built using 108 sales data. Where the data is divided into two parts, namely 54 training data and 54 testing data with four input variables including: Initial Stock, Stock, Number of Transactions, Transaction Items. This from application is made by using the PHP Programming Language and Mysql Database. Prediction testing in this study shows that Naive Bayes can predict sales with 98.14% accuracy and error 1.85% from 54 testing data. Keywords: CV. Abstract

Single Tuition (UKT) is a new system for tuition fees in accordance with the Minister of Higher Education and Culture Regulation number 55 in 2013. UKT is also a form of cross-subsidy system whereas students with high economic levels will subsidize students with low economic levels. So, this condition will alleviate for underprivileged students’ in the cost constraints of continuing study in college. To determine the UKT class for students, so, UKT classes must be fit with the students’ economic level. Under these conditions, the author to make a Decision Support System (DSS) determines the class of student UKT by using the Naive Bayes Method. There are seven input variables of 600 students' data from University of Riau Academic Year 2014 to 2015 used in this study, consisting of 400 training data and 200 test data. This system is developed by using PHP Programming Language, Mysql and this system also Naive Bayes Method. This Method is used to classify data into six UKT groups. uses this method can provide the best alternative based on training from previous data, to determine a single tuition based on students' economic. Testing data results of this study indicate that Naive Bayes Method can identify students’ UKT groups with accuration average of 91.5% of 200 test data. So, it can be concluded that UKT effectiveness level with the Naive Bayes Method included in to Good Category.Keywords : Decision Support Systems, Naïve Bayes

Abstract

Product quality inspection system plays an important role in industrial production. Manual inspection process based on human tends to have several deficiencies in recognizing defects, such as workers subjectivity, inconsistency of work, and boredom level. Therefore, this paper presents an automated computer vision systems of plastic bottle shape defect detection for quality inspection system as a solution for the problem that has been raised. In this study, Mizone Lychee Lemon 500ml was used as sample. Digital Image Processing Technique is used to extract shape feature of plastic bottle. Through this technique, the defects of the bottle structure is described from the feature set such as Area, Perimeter, Major Axis Length, and Solidity. Then, the bottle is classified whether it is passed or rejected from the estimated parameters using Backpropagation Neural Network Method. A total of 100 data of bottle images are used in this study, consisting of 70 Training Images and 30 Testing Images. The result of this study is that the system can be used to differentiate plastic bottles according to shape with 100% accurary rate. Abstract

Education is something that helps for the progress of the nation. Assessment is a process carried out to make decisions using information from learning outcomes. One of the problems at SMPN 01 Sungai Mandau, the assessment was carried out using paper so that there were many mistakes. This problem can be overcome by creating an information system that can help the teacher assessment process to make it faster and safer. Making this information system requires several important components, namely in the form of Java and XML programming languages for the Android system, while PHP, HTML, and CSS for web systems. The method that I use to create this information system is the waterfall method using the MySQL database. The author's testing is done by using usability testing and black-box testing methods. The results of the information system can make it easier for teachers to fill in student scores, students or parents to see the results of grades, sponsors to manage scholarships and IT employees in managing grades. Abstract

Determination of the majoring of the study is very affected in college student’s academic activities. The goal of a major concentration is to help students focus on the major or study that is of based on their potential. University of Riau, Informatics Engineering Study Program has three study concentrations, there are Computing and Vision Intelligence (KCV), Network Based Computing (KBJ), and Software Engineering (RPL). However, choosing a study concentration is not easy for some students. Some students choose the concentrate just to come along with their friends which is not chosen based on their potential. The technology has been used extensively in all aspects of human life, as well as the application of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). One of the ANN model, backpropagation network is a method of learning that often used in some aspects, one of the aspect is for predicting. Backpropagation is an best method for solving the complex patterns. Therefore, this research will use the backpropagation method on a website basis to predict the majoring of the study programs for college students. This system is designed by using PHP language, HTML dan MySQL database. The obtained accuracy of this system is 95% on the training process and 86% on the testing process with 15 hidden layers combined parameters, 4000 epoch points and and 0.2 learning rate points.
