Abstract

Flower has variety of species and shapes. In the flower species recognition, classification is a difficult task because of close shape similarity among different flower classes. Any flowers that have similar shape are usually grouped into the same flower class. However, different species of flowers can have shape that look similar to one another. Lighting conditions and viewpoints when the flower image was taken, also can be varied. All of these circumstances obviously lead to a confusion among the flower classes when flower images of the different flower species that have look similar shape were classified. This research applies the Principal Component Analysis and Backpropagation Neural Network Method in flower species recognition system. Objective of this research is to find out the best flower species recognition that can be used to identify flower image. This research involves 480 flower image data and 8 species of flowers, which consists of 280 training images and 200 testing images. From the results of this research, the Principal Component Analysis and Artificial Neural Network Method shows the good performance of flower species recognition system, with an accuracy average is 97%.Keywords: flower species recognition, Principal Component Analysis, Artificial Neural Network, Backpropagation

Abstract

Development of modern technology today has made industry carry out various innovations. One of them is digital image processing, such as biometrics for Face Recognition. Face recognition application can be implemented in various fields, for example Security Systems for doors access from a room. The research is conducted at Integrated Service Unit (UPT) of Universitas Riau which is the center for processing and maintaining from its system, data and networks. This study aims to implement face detection and face recognition systems in real-time by using Raspberry Pi. The research does not build the whole security system, just part. Testing is done by using simulation software. This study uses Viola Jones Method to detect face area. Back propagation of Artificial Neural Networks is used to perform face data training and predict facial pattern data. Research testings are carried out based on several factors such as light intensity, distance, and camera position. Results of this study showed that system succeeded to detect and recognize different faces in 0.5m, 00 of camera slop, 101-167 lx of light intencity with average of the highest accuracy is 86.6%. Abstract

The success of oil palm cultivation is deeply depend by quality of the seedlings, and for this reason the implementation of nurseries needs a special attention. The problem that occurs regularly is that the amount of seeds sent from the nursery area is not equal to the amount of seeds contained in the farm. The number of seeds that are not allocated causes misfortunes in the organization. Seedlings are also defenseless and can be replaced by different seeds on their way. An application is required and you can work with a lot of data. This application is expected to have the option to record status of the palm oil seedling area productively. Ionic is a system that can create hybrid mobile applications. This versatile application is built with commonly used programming language for the web (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript). This application will be used in places with network problems. Documenting changes in seed information status provides types of seed information assistance to the Board. Abstract

Pineapple is a tropical fruit that is quite popular in Indonesia, especially in Riau Province. Pineapple can be processedto create derivativeproducts from pineapple. Therefore, the quality of pineapple maturity must be maintained. At present, the process of sorting the quality of pineapple is still done manually by humans, so errors can occur in the identification process. Therefore, this study provides a system that can classify the quality of pineapple by using Image Processing and Artificial Neural Networks.Pineapple images are captured by digital cameras and processed using Matlab. Digital Image Processing is used to extract pineapple colors. Artificial Neural Networks are used for classification of pineapple quality. This study uses 70 pineapples for training data and 30 pineapple to test data. The quality of pineapple is divided into 2 classes, raw and cooked pineapple. The used input parameters for Neural Networks are Red, Green, Blue. Accurasy obtained by this application is 100% so that this application is suitable to be used. Abstract

In almost every campus, in introducing the campus environment, they still use the OSPEK (Student Orientation and Campus Introduction) method which is currently considered less effective because it is a waste of time. there is currently no digital media that can provide interactive information about buildings within the Faculty of Engineering, University of Riau. Information about buildings in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Riau requires atechnology that is able to display information interactively and is also more interesting for those who want to get information, both from campus residents themselves and people outside campus who want to get information about campus buildings. In designing and building the applications, of course a method is needed in building the desired application. In this study we used the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) method with the waterfallmodel where in this model there are several stages, namely the Analysis Phase, Design Stage, Implementation Stage, Testing, and Maintenance. in using this application we use markers as based tracking in displaying information objects. and it can be concluded that only markers that have been registered can display information about buildings within the University of Riau Faculty of Engineering.Keywords: Augmented Reality, Android, University of Riau, SDLC, waterfall

Abstract

Humanoid robot itself is a robot that has human-like characteristics. Starting from the physical structure in general humanoid robots have a head, two hands, two legs, but there are some humanoid robots that are very humanoid such as having a waist to the upper body or even a face. . The purpose of this study is to allow the robot to move steadily and balancedly according to the willingness of the tester. This humanoid robot can perform walking, running, jumping, dancing, and much more. Simple gestures such as walking require alignment between actuators, controllers, and built-in programs or commands. It uses an OpenCM 9.04 controller and Gyroscope sensor as its balancing sensor.  Gyroscope sensor used by MPU-6050 which has an output in the form of angular velocity from the direction of 3 axes that is, the x axis that will later become the angle of phi (right and left), and the y-axis will later become theta angle (top and bottom), and the z axis will later become psi angle (front and back). Gyroscope sensors will be implemented to the legs of humanoid robots so that humanoid robots will maintain their balance in standing and walking later. The robot used is a Bioloid Type-A humanoid robot. The results of this test the robot can move as expected by the author and add value to the test results of the programming process of the OpenCM 9.04 microcontroller. Abstract

The development of computer technology helps people to solve their problems, for example is Artificial Intelligence. The smarter the system and information handled, the more active role played by computers and there has been an increase in people interest using computers for artificial intelligence. One of the areas of artificial intelligence engineering that is quite attractive is expert systems. Expert system is a computer that designed to copy the expert knowledge. Expert system can be implemented in the hospital. clinics etc. Expert system in this research is using certainty factor method for diagnosis of eye diseases. This method helps people and provide solutions to the symptoms experienced by the user. The results of this study are the diagnosis of eye diseases, the information of the diseases, solutions and early treatment methods for eye diseases. By using black box testing, an accuracy of 94.4% is obtained.Keywords : Expert System, Eye disease, Certainty Factor

Abstract

The 5G system requires more significant system capacity, more full bandwidth, and higher frequency. One type of antenna that can be used to increase the channel capacity is microstrip MIMO antenna. The Federal Communications Commission of the U.S. has recently designated the frequency band from 27.5 to 28.35 GHz for 5G applications. In this paper, the design of 28 GHz microstrip MIMO antenna for future 5G applications was proposed. The antenna was designed by using RT Duroid 5880 substrate with a dielectric constant of 2.2 and the loss tangent of 0.0009. The antenna operated from 27.10 GHz to 28.88 GHz with 1.78 GHz (6.35%) of bandwidth. The antenna consisted of four elements feeding by a microstrip line. Based on the simulated results, the high gain of 14.8 dBi is obtained with a linear directional pattern. Comparison performance regarding gain, return loss, VSWR and bandwidth are also presented for single, two and four elements.  It is shown that the increasing number of elements of antenna increased the gain and the return loss. The antenna meets the 5G requirements.

Abstract

Kuantan Singingi merupakan salah satu Kabupaten di Provinsi Riau yang dikunjungi banyak wisatawan setiap tahunnya, hal ini dikarenakan terdapat sebuah event tahunan yang digelar oleh pemerintah yaitu pagelaran 'Pacu Jalur' yang saat ini sudah masuk dalam Kalender Pariwisata Nasional. Banyaknya wisatawan yang datang ke Kuantan Singingi membuat kebutuhan akan informasi pariwisata di Kuansing meningkat, oleh karena itu tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan aplikasi pariwisata berbasis android menggunakan Push Notification dan Layanan Berbasis Lokasi. Tahapan perancangan aplikasi pariwisata ini menggunakan metode Waterfall. Penelitian ini menghasilkan Aplikasi Wisata Kuantan Singingi yang berbasis Android yang dapat digunakan untuk membantu wisatawan yang dibuktikan dengan hasil persentase sebesar 87.2% dengan kategori 'Sangat Memuaskan' dan membantu pemerintah mempromosikan pariwisata Kuansing yang dibuktikan dengan hasil persentase sebesar 87.5% dengan kategori 'Sangat Memuaskan'.

Abstract

Abstract Health is an essential thing in our lives. One of the characteristics of a healthy body is having an ideal body. To get an ideal body, we should regulate our diet or eating pattern to our daily activity. We can find out that our body is ideal or not by using BMI formula. Moreover, we can total our daily calories need by using BMR formula. Both of the formulas actually can be calculated manually, but the methods are not efficient. Also, in those formulas, the calculations are still standard and inflexible. Therefore, this study uses fuzzy logic with Mamdani methods to calculate the body mass index and calorie requirement figures. Using the fuzzy logic can give tolerances to the result so that there are no significant results. This application uses Java language based on Android so that it can be used practically on smartphones. The result shows that BMI and BMR obtained by this application are the accuracy of 89.62% and the error value of 10.38%.
