Abstract

This research aims to improve the numeracy ability of mildly impaired students at SLB Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping through the modification of bowling games. This study uses a quantitative research type through an experimental approach in the form of Single Subject Research (SSR) and applies an A-B-A design. There are two variables in this study, namely the modification of bowling games as an independent variable and the ability to count as a bound variable. The subject of this study was a mentally retarded student with the initials D, male in class IV-C SLB Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping who was not yet able to count numbers up to 20 even though he was already in class IV. To overcome this problem, the researcher aims to improve the ability to count in students by continuing the ability of students who were previously only able to count 1 to 10 continued by counting 11 to 15 through modification of the bowling game. The results of the study showed the percentage of results in the Baseline condition (A1) with a percentage of 33%, 33%, 33%, 33%. Intervention Condition (B) with percentages of 40%, 40%, 67%, 73%, 87%, 93%, 93%, 93%. For Baseline condition (A2) with percentages of 87%, 93%, 93%, 93%. The final data that has been analyzed will be in the form of percentages and visual graphs, and it can be concluded that bowling game modification can improve the ability to count numbers in mentally retarded children

Abstract

The problems faced by students with mild intellectual disabilities (MA) and (RP) are their inability to recognize numeral symbols from 1 to 20, which results in suboptimal learning outcomes. This research aims to enhance the ability to recognize numeral symbols from 1-20 through the number tree media for students with mild intellectual disabilities. This study uses the form of classroom action research. Data collection is conducted through observation, documentation, tests, and interviews. The data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that students' ability to recognize number symbols from 1 to 20 has improved. This is reflected in the initial ability of the students, which was a mean of 30% and a range of 40%. Cycle I shows an increase in the mean (50.8%) and range (58.3%). Cycle II shows further improvement with a mean of (81.2%) and range (83%). Thus, the number tree media can enhance students' ability to recognize number symbols from 1 to 20.

Abstract

This research aims to identify self-care skills in MDVI students, produce suitable teaching materials for teachers using a task analysis strategy that includes identifying content, classifying the stages to be achieved, and breaking tasks down into detailed and systematic components. The method used is the ADDIE development model. The research was conducted in special schools across West Sumatra among MDVI students and their respective teachers. The study involves material experts and media experts. The research results show that the teachers' need for learning materials developed in self-care learning based on task analysis, the feasibility of the learning materials based on content validation is 4.60% (very good) and for media experts 4.92% (very good). The learning material product is effectively used based on the comparison of the pre-test and post-test results of teachers with an average increase of 30%, while for students, the average increase is 31.25%.

Abstract

The adaptive behavior of students struggling with reading is very important to discuss because it reveals a phenomenon that is often overlooked in the education world. At the age of grade 3 elementary school, children's reading ability is at a crucial stage, and the adaptive behaviors that arise from reading difficulties can provide important insights into their educational needs. The objective of this research is to observe and examine the adaptive behaviors of students experiencing reading difficulties in grade 3 at one of the schools in Padang City. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data was obtained through observations, interviews, direct tests on students, and documentation. The data analysis technique employs qualitative data analysis through steps of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The analysis results show that this article demonstrates 5 adaptive behaviors of students facing reading difficulties in 3rd-grade elementary students. Teachers are strongly advised to develop teaching approaches that cater to the individual needs of students in relation to the 5 adaptive behaviors of students with reading difficulties.

Abstract

This research is based on the real conditions at SLB Serasi in Payakumbuh City, where a hearing-impaired student in the eighth grade is still unable to perform division operations. Therefore, the researcher attempts to use multimedia through the website coolmath4kids to help improve the students' understanding. This study aims to determine the improvement of division operation skills through coolmath4kids for hearing-impaired students. Quantitative approach was applied in this study with experimental method in single subject research (SSR) type A-B design, the results showed significant improvement. At the initial stage of Baseline (A) which was carried out for four observations and obtained a presentation of stability of 40% each. After being given Intervention through coolmath4kids in six observations, students' abilities increased with a percentage of 70%, 90%, 90%, 100%, 100% respectively. Thus, coolmath4kids is proven to be able to improve division operations in learners with hearing disabilities.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problems that researchers found at SLB Autisma YPPA Bukittinggi where a child with moderate intellectual disabilities had difficulty in seriation ability. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of pink tower media in improving seriation ability in children with moderate intellectual disabilities class II at SLB Autisma YPPA Bukittinggi. The study used a quantitative research type with an experimental approach in the form of Single Subject Research (SSR) with an A-B design. The subjects in this study were moderate intellectual disabilities class II at SLB Autisma YPPA Bukittinggi. Furthermore, data collection used a test technique consisting of several questions. Then using data analysis techniques with visual graphics. The results of the study showed that in the baseline condition (A) which was carried out three times, a stable percentage of 33% was obtained. In the intervention condition (B) which was carried out eight times, the stable percentage was 100%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the pink tower media can improve seriation ability in children with moderate intellectual disabilities.

Abstract

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a developmental disorder that affects academic, social, and emotional functioning. In Indonesia, the prevalence rate is significant, yet comprehensive reviews are still limited. The aim is to systematically review the prevalence of ADHD in Indonesia across various age groups and identify factors influencing its diagnosis and management. This study uses a systematic literature review approach. The data sources for this literature review include articles published in scientific journals, totaling 30. Some databases used include Google Scholar, Sage Publications, EBSCO, and repositories of higher education institutions in Indonesia. To ensure the validity and reliability of the findings, every step in this systematic literature review process follows standard guidelines such as PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses). Qualifying studies were analyzed descriptively. The analysis results show that according to the National Statistics Agency (BPSN) in 2021, about 20% of children and adolescents in Indonesia experience mental health problems, including ADHD, equivalent to 16.8 million individuals. A 2019 study at the Disability Children Foundation of Surakarta (YPAC) reported a prevalence of ADHD of 26.4% among children. Symptoms vary by age, with late diagnosis commonly occurring in adults. Socio-cultural factors, stigma, and limited access to mental health services are major obstacles
