Abstract

Increasing student participation and engagement is a crucial benefit of interactive education. Education serves as a medium for knowledge transfer and helps society develop critical thinking, self-control, and a strong sense of morality. This study aims to determine the influence of interactive teaching methods on student participation in Buddhist education. This study uses a quantitative approach with survey methods and data analysis using descriptive statistics. The study sample consisted of thirty students selected using a saturated sampling technique. The study's findings show that interactive learning positively and significantly influences student participation. This supports the research hypothesis that interactive teaching methods can increase students' motivation, engagement, and active participation in the learning process. This study shows that although interactive learning significantly impacts student participation, other external factors also affect learning. This approach encourages students to be more active in the learning process through group projects, cooperative learning, and discussions, thereby increasing confidence and class engagement.

Abstract

meningkatkan daya saing dan efektivitas pemasaran bagi Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM). Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang berfokus pada pelatihan pemasaran digital untuk UMKM di Desa Pejambon, Pesawaran. Metode yang digunakan mencakup survei, diskusi kelompok terarah, demonstrasi, dan praktik langsung. Pelatihan ini memberikan wawasan mengenai pengelolaan media sosial, analisis kebutuhan pasar, serta strategi pemasaran digital yang efektif, termasuk pemanfaatan platform digital untuk memperluas jangkauan pasar. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan keberhasilan dengan tingginya antusiasme peserta, peningkatan pemahaman, dan kemampuan mereka dalam menerapkan teknik pemasaran digital. Digitalisasi pemasaran memberikan UMKM kesempatan untuk meningkatkan kinerja bisnis, memperluas visibilitas merek, dan memperkuat hubungan dengan pelanggan. Dengan demikian, hal ini dapat berkontribusi pada pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of work discipline and job satisfaction on employee performance. Severe and essential element in a company to manage employees is not so easy because every employee has different characteristics and other factors to improve their performance. Likewise, PT Putra Bali also expects an increase in employee performance to achieve optimal company goals. This study used a quantitative descriptive method; the population was 130 permanent employees at PT Putra Bali in the city of Bandar Lampung. The technique for sampling in this study used a saturated sampling technique. This study processed the data using the SPSS version 25 application to obtain significant results. The results of multiple regression testing show that the variables of Work Discipline and Job Satisfaction positively affect Employee Performance based on the results of the regression equation and with the value of R Square. Based on statistical data, the indicators in this study are valid, and the variables are reliable. Hypothesis testing using the t-test shows that the variables of Work Discipline and Job Satisfaction are proven to affect the Employee Performance variable significantly. Then through the F test, it can be seen that the variables of Work Discipline and Job Satisfaction simultaneously influence employee performance variables with the result that the calculated F value is greater than the F table.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance the English language skills of elementary school students on Tegal Island, Lampung Province, through the implementation of a Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach. Limited English proficiency among local children has long hindered effective communication with foreign visitors and restricted opportunities for community-based tourism development. To address this challenge, the program incorporated basic English vocabulary related to the beach environment into interactive activities, such as songs, games, visual aids, and direct exploration of local surroundings. These methods were designed to provide authentic, engaging, and memorable language learning experiences tailored to the learners’ environment. A pre-test and post-test design was employed to evaluate the program’s effectiveness. The results demonstrated a substantial improvement in students’ vocabulary mastery, with mean scores rising from 61.36 on the pre-test to 89.73 on the post-test. Statistical analysis using a paired sample t-test revealed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), confirming that CTL significantly enhanced vocabulary acquisition. The normalized gain (N-Gain) indicated a high level of progress among participants, showing consistent improvement across all learners. Beyond cognitive gains, qualitative observations indicated that students exhibited greater confidence, motivation, and environmental awareness as they linked English lessons to familiar contexts. This program illustrates that CTL offers a practical, low-cost, and highly effective strategy for empowering youth in remote island communities. By contextualizing English instruction in real-life settings, CTL not only fosters academic achievement but also supports community engagement, cultural pride, and sustainable human resource development in rural tourism areas.

Abstract

Buddhayana is a form of Buddhism adapted and accepted in a unique way in Indonesia. Buddhayana has become a symbol of harmony, unity and non-sectarianism in a pluralistic society. This research examines Buddhayana as a Buddhist tradition that has intersectarian, inclusivism and plurarism values that are in line with the value of diversity. The approach used in this research is qualitative with a literature review method through the search for primary and secondary information from various sources of books, articles, and the internet. The results of the study show that Buddhayana has successfully integrated local elements in its religious traditions, creating a unique form of Buddhism that suits the Indonesian social and cultural environment. This has been a positive contribution to interfaith harmony in Indonesia, providing a positive example of how different faiths can coexist peacefully. Buddhayana reinforces the notion of Indonesian diversity, reminding us of the importance of diverse religious cultures. Therefore, it is important to continue promoting the values of non-sectarianism and harmony so that Buddhayana and other religions remain agents of diversity in Indonesia. Buddhism in Indonesia is a successful example of interfaith harmony and religious adaptability in cultural diversity. Hopefully, the results of this research help to understand and appreciate the role of Buddhism in maintaining diversity and interfaith harmony in Indonesia and offer valuable insights into future challenges and opportunities

Abstract

The research aims to find out the influence of silent sitting and mindful parenting on the interests of students of STIAB Jinarakkhita Lampung. In the research there are some problems, among others, there are still students who do not pay attention to the lecturer when explaining, there is still a student who does not collect lectures, still there are students who don't answer questions when asked by the teacher, and there are also students who talk to my cousins when the lecturers explain the lectures in class this indicates that there is a problem related to the interests of learning. The methodology used is descriptive quantitative research. The subject in this study is a student of the Buddhist Religious Education study program with a total of 45 Students. The sample in this study is as many as 30 people. Data collection techniques in this study include using interviews and lifts. (kuisioner). This study uses a double linear regression analysis with a degree of error of 5%. R square or R2=0.940=94%. The value shows that the variation of student learning interest variables (Y) can be explained by the variable silent sitting (X1) and mindful parenting (X2) combined at 94%. In other words, the variables silent siting (x1) and Mindful Parenting (x2) influence the student interest variable (y) by 94% and the remaining 6% are influenced by other factors that are not included in this study model. (Y). Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that 1) there is a simultaneous influence between silent sitting and mindful parenting on learning interests. 2) This shows that the more positive silent sitting and the higher mindful parenthood, the more will increase the interest of students of STIAB Jinarakkhita Bandar Lampung.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi murid sekolah minggu Buddha terhadap pemahaman Dhammapada melalui aplikasi Dhammapada berbasis android dapat dilakukan dengan baik. Sasaran pengabdian adalah murid sekolah minggu Buddha yang berjumlah 21 peserta tingkat SMP-SMA. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan dengan berbagai metode mulai dari survei, focus group discussion, demonstrasi, dan pelatihan. Materi pelatihan yang diberikan meliputi pengenalan aplikasi Dhammapada dan pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi Dhammapada berbasis android. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan keberhasilan dengan indikasi berupa tingginya antusiasme, motivasi untuk memanfaatkan aplikasi Dhammapada berbasis android pada setiap tahap pelatihan.

Abstract

Tujuan dari Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini untuk meningkatkan produktivitas muda-mudi di masa pandemi covid-19 dalam memanfaatkan potensi pemuda secara umum, sehingga aktivitas muda-mudi dapat dilakukan dengan baik. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan dengan webinar secara online dengan menggunakan aplikasi zoom. Metode mulai dari survei, focus group discussion, demonstrasi dan unjuk kerja. Materi pelatihan yang diberikan meliputi bagaimana memanfaatkan potensi dan produktivitas muda-mudi di masa pandemi-19. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan keberhasilan dengan indikasi berupa tingginya antusiasme, motivasi peserta untuk mengikuti kegiatan pada setiap tahapan kegiatan pelatihan.

Abstract

Pelatihan kosakata Bahasa Inggris dengan flashcard adalah inovasi dalam meningkatkan literasi Bahasa Inggris anak-anak di SMB Desa Pejambon, Pesawaran. Artikel ini menyoroti urgensi pengembangan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris sejak usia dini, terutama pada rentang usia 6-12 tahun, untuk memperluas literasi secara berkelanjutan. Pelatihan kosakata menggunakan flashcard memberikan pendekatan menarik dan interaktif dalam pembelajaran, sesuai dengan lingkungan. Melalui kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat, tahapan persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi dilakukan dengan pre-test dan post-test untuk memantau perkembangan anak-anak. Harapannya, metode pelatihan kosakata berbasis flashcard dapat meningkatkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris dengan cara yang menyenangkan dan interaktif, serta memberikan kontribusi positif dalam menghadapi tantangan globalisasi.

Abstract

This Community service program aims to strengthen the Buddhist community's religious, cultural, and spiritual values by implementing Pabbajjā and Upasampadā at Muaro Jambi Temple, a historic Buddhist heritage site in Indonesia. The program is motivated by the need for a learning medium integrating Buddhist teachings with direct experience in a religious and cultural environment. The implementation adopted a participatory and collaborative approach, engaging participants particularly university students in ritual activities, Dharma discussions, and the practice of moral precepts (sīla). The selection of Muaro Jambi Temple also served as a strategy to revitalize the site’s function as a center for spiritual cultivation and cultural preservation. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of the Dharma, adherence to moral precepts, and awareness of the importance of Buddhist cultural heritage. The program fostered the development of religious character and cultural identity, enhancing participants’ commitment to preserving the noble values of Buddhism within the local context. Furthermore, it opened opportunities for the development of history-based religious tourism. In conclusion, this PKM effectively integrates religious education, character building, and cultural preservation. Its sustainability requires multi-stakeholder support to ensure that the values, history, and spirituality of the Nusantara heritage are preserved authentically and meaningfully.
