Abstract

Abstract

Participative leadership in dakwah institutions offers clear benefits. Literature indicates this style improves decision quality and spurs innovation, as members with relevant knowledge contribute creative solutions. It fosters an inclusive culture where stakeholders feel valued, responsible, and committed to collective decisions. Organizational effectiveness and efficiency rise with increased participation and member engagement. However, full implementation encounters practical challenges. In dakwah organizations with hierarchical traditions, resistance to power-sharing and trust deficits can cause conflict and decision delays. Limited leadership capacity and communication skills among members become obstacles if leaders are untrained in participative methods. Organizational theory thus recommends adaptive strategies: leaders should establish effective communication channels, empower teams, and implement context-specific leadership training programs. Case studies suggest these measures build a sustainable collaborative culture that supports innovation in dakwah programs. In summary, participative leadership, when combined with appropriate training and a supportive culture, can enhance effectiveness, foster creativity, and ensure organizational sustainability in religious outreach.

Abstract

The halal lifestyle is becoming an increasingly popular trend among young people, particularly Generation Z. Islamic institutions play a significant role in promoting this lifestyle through various innovative and relevant da'wah strategies, one of which involves utilizing the FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) approach. This study aims to analyze how da'wah innovations using the FOMO strategy are employed to foster interest among Gen Z in the halal lifestyle and to encourage their involvement in da'wah-based entrepreneurship. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach by conducting case studies on several digital da'wah programs and campaigns targeting youth, as well as library research to support theoretical and literature analysis. The findings reveal that the use of FOMO in digital da'wah through social media, halal community events, and visual narratives is effective in building awareness and participation among young audiences. Generation Z not only becomes consumers of the halal lifestyle but also begins to engage as active participants in da'wah entrepreneurship. These findings suggest that da'wah innovations that adapt to digital culture and the social psychology of youth can be effective strategies for instilling Islamic values in a creative and sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of the Great Filter as a metaphor to explain why only a few Islamic missionary organizations and startups are able to survive amidst digital disruption, while many others fail. Disruption, characterized by rapid changes in technology, regulations, and societal behavior, creates significant pressure that demands high levels of adaptability and innovation. This study uses a qualitative method based on a literature review by analyzing various literature related to entrepreneurship, digital missionary work, and dynamic capabilities. The results show that the success of Islamic missionary organizations in facing disruption is determined by a combination of visionary leadership, continuous innovation, mastery of digital technology, and the organization's ability to learn and adapt. Conversely, failure is often caused by limited funding, minimal innovation, and weak digital strategies. Thus, the Great Filter can be understood as a natural selection process that only resilient, adaptive organizations can overcome, and is able to combine spiritual values with entrepreneurial innovation.

Abstract

This article discusses the role of human resources (HR) in dakwah institutions in developing entrepreneurial innovation in the era of disruption, with a focus on the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) as a case study. The development of digital technology demands that dakwah institutions transform from traditional patterns toward adaptive, creative, and economically empowering approaches. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical library research approach. The results of the analysis show that HR plays a strategic role as the driving force of dakwah innovation and entrepreneurship based on Islamic values. Adaptive and creative human resources with strong digital literacy are able to bridge dakwah activities with productive economic initiatives, such as sharia entrepreneurship training, Islamic financial literacy, and the development of halal certification. MUI has demonstrated the integration of dakwah, innovation, and digital technology as a response to the dynamics of the disruption era. Therefore, strengthening HR capacity is a key factor for dakwah institutions in creating a model of dakwah that is relevant, competitive, and oriented toward the welfare of the ummah.

Abstract

The disruption era compels Islamic da‘wah institutions to adopt entrepreneurial innovations to remain relevant and sustainable. This transformation creates a dilemma between preserving spiritual missions and exploiting emerging economic opportunities, thereby requiring a comprehensive ethical examination. This study aims to analyze the philosophical foundations and Islamic ethical principles underlying entrepreneurial practices in da‘wah institutions, and to evaluate how the maq??id al-shar?‘ah framework can function as a safeguard against mission drift amid increasing commercialization of religious activities. Employing a qualitative library research method, this study examines literature on da‘wah entrepreneurship, Islamic ethics, maq??id al-shar?‘ah, and the dilemmas associated with the commercialization of da‘wah. The findings indicate that entrepreneurial innovation can leverage opportunities provided by digitalization and socio-economic collaboration to expand social impact, yet also carries the risk of shifting institutional focus when profit-oriented motives take precedence over spiritual objectives. Islamic ethics and the principles of maq??id al-shar?‘ah serve as essential guidelines for balancing business orientation with da‘wah missions through transparent governance, internal audits, and collective education. This study concludes that the success of entrepreneurial innovation within da‘wah institutions in the disruption era is determined not only by operational efficiency and economic reach but also by the ability to maintain moral integrity and deliver sustainable social benefits.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of Islamic da'wah institutions in Indonesia through social entrepreneurship innovation, focusing on the Darunnajah Islamic Boarding School in Jakarta. The aim is to understand how the Islamic boarding school adapts to socio-economic changes without abandoning its da'wah values. This study uses a library research methodology, referring to Kurt Lewin's (1947) theory of change, which consists of three stages: Unfreezing, Changing, and Refreezing. The findings indicate that during the Unfreezing phase, Darunnajah raises students' awareness of the need to develop traditional da'wah models. During the Changing phase, the Islamic boarding school implements social entrepreneurship innovations through various structures, such as cooperatives, Hajj travel agencies, and agribusiness. Finally, during the Refreezing phase, the values of independence and professionalism are institutionalized within the boarding school's culture. Key factors contributing to its success are visionary leadership, a culture of student autonomy, and alumni support; obstacles encountered include internal resistance and a lack of resources. Overall, Darunnajah has succeeded in becoming an adaptive and productive model of modern da'wah that remains rooted in Islamic values.
