Abstract

Tangerang Regency as a city of a thousand industries as well as a buffer for the capital city, is densely populated and often experiences flooding every rainy season. Losses from flood disasters can cause damage and disruption of economic activities and even loss of life. Efforts to minimize losses and loss of life due to flood disasters with early detection tools through the Flood Monitoring Application (SIMOBI). The purpose of creating SIMOBI for early detection of floods so that damage, disruption of economic activities and loss of life can be minimized. This research is a system development to find solutions for early flood detection in Tangerang Regency using the Prototype method and the system results are validated through Black Box Testing. This system is designed using the IoT (Internet of Things) principle which uses an internet network to connect the NodeMCU ESP 8266 microprocessor device with sensor and actuator devices. The NodeMCU ESP 8266 microprocessor to read water level data provided by the Ultrasonic sensor then sends data using the internet to a Smartphone with software that has been created to provide flood indication notifications. In addition to notifications from the Smartphone, a buzzer or siren is used to make a sound if there is an indication of flooding. The system works automatically if the water level exceeds the normal limit at the location and will send a notification via Smartphone and voice. This system is implemented in various flood-prone areas in Tangerang Regency such as Balaraja, Pasar Kemis, Cikupa, Curug, Cisoka, Gunung Kaler, Kelapa Dua, Jayanti, and Jambe.

Abstract

Globalization has brought significant changes in various aspects of life, including language use. As the official language and a symbol of national cultural identity, the Indonesian language is not immune to the effects of globalization, particularly in mass media, literature, and academic publications. This article analyzes the impact of globalization on the use of the Indonesian language, with a focus on two main dimensions: literature and digital media. In literature, globalization tends to introduce foreign elements that influence language style and narrative structure, while in digital media, the use of Indonesian is often mixed with foreign languages and slang influenced by global trends. Furthermore, in academic publications, globalization introduces new terms that often use international languages, such as English, which reduces the use of Indonesian in scholarly contexts. This study also highlights the challenges faced in maintaining the standardization of the Indonesian language amid the rapid flow of globalization, emphasizing the crucial role of language institutions and society in preserving the language's integrity. Through this analysis, it is hoped that strategies will be identified to preserve the richness and standardization of the Indonesian language, ensuring its relevance in an increasingly globalized world.

Abstract

Audit delay refers to the length of time required to complete an audit, measured from the closing date of the fiscal year to the publication date of the audit report. This study aims to analyze the impact of profitability, leverage, audit firm reputation, and audit opinion on audit delay. Profitability in this study is measured by return on assets (ROA), while leverage is measured by the debt-to-equity ratio (DER). The sampling method used is purposive sampling, resulting in a sample of 13 mining sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2014 to 2018. Data analysis includes normality tests, classical assumption tests, and hypothesis testing using multiple regression methods. The results indicate that leverage, audit firm reputation, and audit opinion partially affect audit delay, while profitability does not. Simultaneously, profitability, leverage, audit firm reputation, and audit opinion significantly affect audit delay.

Abstract

Organizational communication, employee training and development are crucial in determining a company's success, particularly in logistics companies operating in the export sector. The growing globalization and increasingly fierce competition in logistics demand companies, such as air cargo export firms, to improve the quality of their human resources to enhance service quality for customers and achieve competitive advantages, enabling them to compete globally. The research variables analyzed include Organizational Communication (X1), Employee Training and Development (X2), and Employee Performance (Y). The sampling method used is probability sampling, specifically through simple random sampling. The data collection techniques employed in this study are interviews and questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed via SSPS version 22. The results of this study show a multiple correlation coefficient of 0.858, indicating a powerful influence. The numerous determination coefficient of this research is 0.736, meaning that organizational communication and training and development have a 73.6% effect on employee performance. In comparison, the remaining 26.4% is influenced by other variables not included in this study. The results of the F-test indicate a significant simultaneous influence because the F calculated > F table (62.585 > 3.280).
