Abstract

Depression is a significant mental health issue among working mothers, which can negatively impact their quality of life and family well-being. One potential approach to mitigating the risk of depression is mindful parenting, which involves paying full attention and awareness to the present moment in interactions with children. This research investigates the association between the practice of mindful parenting and the prevalence of depressive symptoms among employed mothers. This research employs a quantitative correlational approach, involving 100 working mothers selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected using the Mindful Parenting Scale and the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II), and analyzed using Spearman's correlation test. The results indicate a significant negative relationship between mindful parenting and depression (r = -0,317, p = 0,001). This finding suggests that higher levels of mindful parenting are associated with lower levels of depression in working mothers. Conversely, lower levels of mindful parenting are associated with higher levels of depression. The study's conclusion posits that mindful parenting may act as a buffer, mitigating the risk of depression for working mothers. Based on these findings, it is recommended to develop and implement mindfulness and mindful parenting training programs as part of mental health support for working mothers.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Cyberstalking, Kontrol Diri, Media Sosial, Remaja Akhir   AbstractThis study aims to identify the relationship between self-control and cyberstalking behavior in late adolescents in Indonesia. The research method used is quantitative correlational with a non-probability sampling technique through convenience sampling. Participants in this study were 153 adolescents aged 18-22 years who actively use social media. Data were collected using a cyberstalking scale and a self-control scale with proven reliability. The results showed a significant positive relationship between self-control and cyberstalking behavior (r= .220; p = .006). These findings indicate that late adolescents with high self-control tend to have high levels of cyberstalking behavior. This result differs from previous findings which showed a negative relationship between self-control and cyberstalking behavior. The implications of this study highlight the need for a more comprehensive approach to understanding the factors influencing cyberstalking behavior, especially among late adolescents. Keywords: Cyberstalking, Self-Control, Social Media, Late Adolescents

Abstract

This study aimed to describe marital satisfaction among married millennials in Indonesia and to explore potential gender differences. A descriptive quantitative approach was used, involving 146 participants born between 1980 and 2000, who were married and not in long-distance relationships. Data were collected using the Enrich Marital Satisfaction Scale (EMS), adapted to the Indonesian context, and analyzed descriptively along with an independent sample t-test. The results showed that the majority of participants reported high levels of marital satisfaction, with a mean score of 97.50 and 78.8% of respondents categorized as having high satisfaction. No significant gender differences in marital satisfaction were found. These findings indicate that Indonesian millennials generally hold a positive perception of their marital relationships, consistent with shifting values and increasingly egalitarian gender roles. Nevertheless, marital satisfaction is dynamic, warranting attention to factors that may influence relationship quality over time.

Abstract

Caregiving for individuals with mental illness poses various challenges that can disrupt the well-being of the families providing care. Caregivers are vulnerable to experiencing stress. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of progressive muscle relaxation in reducing stress among caregivers of families with mental illness. The research design employed is a quasi-experiment with a one-group pre-test-post-test design. The participants in the study include 4 family members who care for individuals with mental illness. Participants were selected based on interviews and their willingness to participate. Data collection involved pre-test and post-test phases using the Kingston Caregiver Stress Scale. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test method. The data analysis results show a significant decrease in stress (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that progressive muscle relaxation is effective in reducing stress among caregivers of families with mental illness. Therefore, progressive muscle relaxation can be utilized for managing stress in caregivers of families with mental illness.

Abstract

Depression among young adults has become an increasing global public health concern, with substantial personal and societal impacts. While several studies have explored depression in younger populations, research specifically targeting millennials in Indonesia remains limited. This study aimed to describe the severity of depression and examine gender differences in depression levels among Indonesian millennials. A quantitative, descriptive-comparative design was employed. The participants consisted of 200 individuals aged 26 to 40 years, representing the millennial generation, who were recruited through purposive sampling. Depression severity was measured using the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), a validated self-report instrument. Data were collected through an online survey and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Independent Samples t-Test (with Mann-Whitney U as an alternative when assumptions were not met). The findings revealed that approximately 29% of respondents experienced moderate to severe levels of depression, indicating a substantial mental health burden within this demographic. No significant differences in depression scores were found between male and female respondents. These results highlight the urgency of addressing mental health needs among Indonesian millennials, who are currently in a critical phase of socio-economic productivity and family formation. It is essential to strengthen early detection and develop tailored mental health interventions that are accessible and culturally relevant for this population. Future research should consider longitudinal designs to explore protective and risk factors for depression, and the potential of digital-based mental health interventions to support this tech-savvy generation.
