Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia Emas 2045 is a challenge for the younger generation to contribute as a future leader. Student organizations are one of the forums for building leadership in students. This study aims to determine the moderating role of age in social support and members of student organizations’ leadership in Yogyakarta. The subjects were 223 members of student organizations, a minimum of 2 months as a member. Sampling was gathered using the convenience sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using the Human Capital Sustainability Leadership (HSCL) scale and the Social Support Scale of the Online Community. Data analysis was conducted using Jamovi statistical software. The moderation analysis results showed that age significantly affects sustainability leadership (Estimation = 0.5814, SE = 0.24265, CI = [0.1059, 1.0570], Z = 2.40, p = 0.017). The older a person is, the higher the likelihood of having highly sustainable leadership. In addition, the interaction between social support and age also proved significant in sustainability leadership (Estimation = 0.0455, SE = 0.00495, CI = [0.0358, 0.0552], Z = 9.20, p < 0.001). That is, the effect of social support on sustainability leadership differs at different levels of individual age.

Abstract

The use of the internet and its impact on adolescents is an increasingly important topic in the current digital era. This study explores the moderating role of gender in the relationship between Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) and internet addiction among adolescents in Indonesia. Data were collected through an online survey involving 169 participants. The scales used were the Internet Addiction Scale and the FoMO Scale. Statistical analysis employed moderation analysis using Jamovi. The results showed that FoMO significantly influences internet addiction, and there are gender differences in the level of internet addiction. However, the study also found that gender did not significantly moderate the relationship between FoMO and internet addiction. This implies that FoMO and gender independently contribute to internet addiction, emphasizing their distinctive roles in shaping online behaviors. The study underscores the importance of considering both factors in designing effective prevention and intervention strategies.

Abstract

In the digital age, online dating applications have revolutionized the way young adults form romantic connections, providing both opportunities and challenges. Understanding the psychological impacts of these platforms is crucial. Young adults, while navigating romantic pursuits and various developmental challenges, are susceptible to feelings of loneliness. Dating anxiety is a significant factor that can exacerbate loneliness within this demographic. Moreover, gender differences may influence individuals' experiences in dating situations. This research aims to explore the relationship between dating anxiety and loneliness among users of dating applications and to examine the role of gender as a moderating variable in this relationship. The study employs a quantitative correlational approach, incorporating demographic data and two scales: the Dating Anxiety Scale and the UCLA Loneliness Scale 3. The research participants consist of 250 early adults aged 20-34 who actively use online dating applications. Data analysis involves descriptive analysis and moderation analysis using the Jamovi software. The research findings indicate a significant direct relationship between dating anxiety and loneliness (p less than 0.001). Furthermore, gender was found to have no significant impact on loneliness (p more than 0.05), and the interaction between dating anxiety and gender was not significant (p more than 0.05). This suggests a uniform impact among both genders in the relationship between dating anxiety and loneliness. The study highlights the complex dynamics influencing loneliness among online dating application users. The findings enhance theoretical understanding of how dating anxiety relates to loneliness. Practically, these insights can help developers create features that reduce anxiety and loneliness. Future research should identify other factors influencing these dynamics to further enrich theoretical and practical knowledge in this field.

Abstract

Academic demands are capable of creating pressure, prompting students to find diversion through smartphone use and internet browsing. Unproductive internet use during learning is termed cyberslacking, a behavior known to be associated with loneliness. Therefore, this research aimed to explore the moderating role of gender in the relationship between loneliness and cyberslacking among university students. Using a quantitative correlational method, the investigation collected demographic data and adopted two scales, including the UCLA-3 Loneliness Scale and Cyberslacking Scale. Participants, comprising 226 students aged 18 to 25 years, were subjected to both descriptive and moderation analysis using Jamovi. The results showed that there was a significant influence of loneliness on cyberslacking, with gender identified as a moderator in such relationship. Recognizing gender differences in online behavior was crucial for enhancing the effectiveness of university policies and intervention strategies.
