Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of applying the behavioral contract technique through group guidance to reduce online game addiction among students. The method used in this research was descriptive quantitative with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this study were six students in class XI IPS 2 at St. Carolus Catholic High School. The instruments used in this study were an online game addiction questionnaire and behavioral contract intervention guidelines. Data analysis was performed using a paired samples t-test. The results of the analysis showed that the t-value was 13.727, while the t-table value at the 5% significance level was 2.776. Thus, t-value was greater than the t-table, indicating that the behavioral contract technique through group guidance was effective in reducing online game addiction in class XI IPS 2 students at St. Carolus Catholic High School in the 2022/2023 academic year.

Abstract

Etika pergaulan merupakan prinsip dan norma penting yang mengatur interaksi sosial antara individu dalam masyarakat. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang etika pergaulan siswa kelas XII TKRO (B) SMK Katolik St. Yosef Nenuk Atambua. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan angket etika pergaulan untuk mengumpulkan data, dan teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis kecenderungan pusat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa skor rata-rata etika pergaulan siswa adalah 147,32. Skor tersebut berada dalam rentang 147-180, yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Hasil analisis untuk setiap aspek adalah: aspek respek memiliki skor rata-rata sebesar 60, yang berada dalam rentang 51-60 dan termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik; aspek empati memiliki skor rata-rata sebesar 50, yang berada dalam rentang 39-50 dan termasuk dalam kategori baik; sedangkan aspek kejujuran memiliki skor rata-rata sebesar 46, yang berada dalam rentang 39-50 dan termasuk dalam kategori baik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data penelitian tentang gambaran etika pergaulan siswa kelas XII TKRO (B) di SMK Katolik St. Yosef Nenuk Atambua, diperoleh bahwa ketiga aspek etika pergaulan siswa (respek, empati, dan kejujuran) berada dalam kategori sangat baik atau baik. Dengan demikian, diharapkan guru bimbingan dan konseling terus memberikan program layanan bimbingan sosial kepada para siswa agar mereka tetap mempertahankan dan bahkan meningkatkan etika pergaulan di sekolah.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of perceptions about assignments and work motivation on the performance of Guidance and Counseling teachers. This research was conducted on all Guidance and Counseling teachers who served in Junior High Schools and Senior High Schools who became the Guidance and Counseling apprenticeship partner schools of the Guidance and Counseling Department at Education Faculty of Catholic University of Widya Mandira Kupaang, totaling 30 people. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire using a Likert scale model with correlation and regression data analysis. The results of the study showed that there was a significant influence of the perception variable about assignments on the performance of the Guidance and Counseling teachers, there was a significant influence of the work motivation variable on the performance of the Guidance and Counseling teachers, and there was a significant influence of the perception of the task and work motivation on the performance of the Guidance and Counseling teachers.

Abstract

Kegiatan Amancalistung (Adikku mantap membaca, menulis dan berhitung) merupakan salah satu bentuk program bimbingan belajar yang dilaksanakan oleh Tim KKN-PPM Universitas Katolik Widya Mandira Tahun Ajaran 2022/2023. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan sebagai salah satu respon yang diambil untuk menyikapi salah satu dampak yang disebabkan oleh adanya pandemi Covid-19 pada dunia pendidikan tahun 2020 lalu. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pendampingan/bimbingan belajar bagi setiap siswa-siswi SD sebagai upaya dalam membantu siswa mengejar ketertinggalan materi dan peningkatan motivasi belajar. Bentuk kegiatan yang dilaksanakan berupa bimbingan belajar dengan target peserta siswa Sekolah Dasar yang berada pada jenjang kelas 1, 2 dan 3. Kegiatan bimbingan belajar dilaksanakan di kantor Kelurahan Sasi dan SD Negeri Sasi selama kurang lebih satu bulan. Materi yang diberikan berupa materi membaca, menulis dan berhitung. evaluasi terhadap kegiatan Amancalistung dilakukan dengan mengadakan perlombaan Gebyar Amancalistung. Hasil dari kegiatan berupa adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca, menulis dan berhitung dari peserta. selain itu juga terlihat antusias siswa dalam mengikuti setiap proses bimbingan belajar.

Abstract

The problem in this research is whether the application of role playing techniques through group guidance is effective in increasing the self-esteem of class IX A students at SMPK St. Yoseph Noelbaki for the 2023/2024 academic year? The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of applying role playing techniques through group guidance to increase the self-esteem of class IX A students at SMPK St. Yoseph Noelbaki Kupang 2023/2024 academic year The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive using pre-experimental design (one-group pretest-posttest design). The instruments used in this research were a self-esteem questionnaire and guidelines for implementing role playing techniques. The data analysis technique uses the t test formula. The results of data analysis show that the t_count value is 33.4268, while the t_table value at the 5% significance level is 2.132. Thus, the t_count>t_table value, this shows that the role playing technique through group guidance is effective in increasing the self-esteem of class IX A students at SMPK St. Yoseph Noelbaki Kupang 2023/2024 academic year. Based on the results of this research, the researcher provides suggestions to: 1) The Principal is expected to further increase collaboration with Guidance and Counseling teachers in the implementation of role playing techniques through group guidance in order to help increase students' self-esteem. 2) Guidance and Counseling Teachers are expected to continuously carry out activities applying role playing techniques through group guidance to increase students' self-esteem. 3) Students are expected to actively participate in participating in activities applying role playing techniques through group guidance to increased self-esteem.

Abstract

The focus of this research is to see whether there is a relationship between learning motivation and learning achievement students. This study aimed to investigate the significant relationship between learning motivation and learning achievement of eight grade students at SMP Negeri 16 Kupang in the academic year of 2023/2024. This study belonged to quantitative descriptive method. The variables of this study were independent variable (X) learning motivation and dependent variable (Y) learning achievement. The population was all students in class A of eight graders at SMP Negeri 16 Kupang in the academic year of 2023/2024. 23 students were chosen as the sample of this research. The data collection technique used in this study was a questionnaire. The product moment correlation was used as the data analysis technique in this study. The results of data analysis showed a value of Pearson Correlation was 0.575 with a significance value obtained of 0.00 <0.05, including the strong category. The finding showed that there was a significant relationship between learning motivation and the learning achievement in class A of eight graders at SMP Negeri 16 Kupang in the academic year of 2023/2024.

Abstract

Local culture serves as a source of life values that can be utilized in various educational contexts, including family guidance and counseling. One such cultural expression of the Manggarai people in East Nusa Tenggara is goet, a form of poetic proverb transmitted through traditional ceremonies and everyday life. This study aims to identify the life values embedded in the local goet tradition and analyze their implications for family guidance and counseling practices. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through documentation, interviews, and participatory observation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The findings reveal that the goet tradition contains ten core values: religiosity, health, unity, wisdom, motivation, maintaining good reputation, ancestral connection, inheritance, marriage, and a sense of belonging to the village. These values hold potential as culturally responsive approaches within family counseling practices to enhance identity, harmony, and family resilience. The implications suggest that integrating local cultural values into counseling services offers an effective strategy to develop contextualized and socially relevant guidance practices.ABSTRAKBudaya lokal merupakan sumber nilai-nilai kehidupan yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam berbagai konteks pendidikan, termasuk bimbingan dan konseling keluarga. Salah satu bentuk budaya lokal masyarakat Manggarai, Nusa Tenggara Timur, adalah goet, yaitu peribahasa puitis yang diwariskan secara turun-temurun melalui upacara adat dan kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai kehidupan yang terkandung dalam budaya lokal goet dan menganalisis implikasinya terhadap praktik bimbingan dan konseling keluarga. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui dokumentasi, wawancara, dan observasi partisipatif. Data dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang mencakup reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa budaya goet mengandung sepuluh nilai utama, yaitu nilai religius, kesehatan, persatuan, kebijaksanaan, motivasi, menjaga nama baik, hubungan dengan leluhur, pewarisan, pernikahan, dan tentang kampung. Nilai-nilai ini memiliki potensi untuk digunakan sebagai pendekatan dalam bimbingan dan konseling keluarga guna memperkuat identitas, keharmonisan, serta ketahanan keluarga. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi budaya lokal ke dalam praktik bimbingan dapat menjadi strategi efektif dalam menciptakan layanan konseling yang kontekstual dan relevan secara sosial budaya.

Abstract

Vocational High Schools (SMK) play a crucial role in equipping youth to enter the job market. According to Article 15 of the National Education System Law (UUSPN) No. 20 of 2003, vocational education is a secondary-level program designed to provide students with specific skills to prepare them for employment. This mandate is further reinforced by the Ministry of National Education Regulation No. 22 of 2006, Article 3, which outlines the standards and structure of the vocational curriculum. The regulation states that vocational education is intended to enhance students’ intellectual abilities, knowledge, character, moral values, and practical skills, empowering them to be self-reliant and pursue higher education in their chosen fields. This research investigates the link between self-efficacy and job readiness among 11th-grade students at the Computer Science Vocational High School in Kupang. Using a quantitative approach with Pearson correlation analysis, the study found a significant correlation between self-efficacy and job readiness (r = 0.672, p 0.01), highlighting that self-efficacy is a key contributor to the job readiness of vocational students.ABSTRAKSekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) memainkan peran penting dalam membekali generasi muda untuk memasuki pasar kerja. Menurut Pasal 15 Undang-Undang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional (UUSPN) No. 20 Tahun 2003, pendidikan kejuruan adalah program pendidikan menengah yang dirancang untuk memberikan keterampilan khusus kepada siswa untuk mempersiapkan mereka memasuki lapangan kerja. Mandat ini lebih lanjut diperkuat oleh Peraturan Menteri Pendidikan Nasional No. 22 Tahun 2006, Pasal 3, yang menguraikan standar dan struktur kurikulum SMK. Peraturan tersebut menyatakan bahwa pendidikan kejuruan dimaksudkan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan intelektual, pengetahuan, karakter, nilai-nilai moral, dan keterampilan praktis siswa, memberdayakan mereka untuk mandiri dan melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi di bidang yang mereka pilih. Penelitian ini menyelidiki hubungan antara Self-efficacy dan kesiapan kerja di antara siswa kelas 11 di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Ilmu Komputer di Kupang. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan analisis korelasi Pearson, penelitian ini menemukan korelasi yang signifikan antara Self-efficacy dan kesiapan kerja (r = 0,672, p 0,01), yang menyoroti bahwa Self-efficacy merupakan kontributor utama terhadap kesiapan kerja siswa SMK.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine: 1) The social ethics profile of eighth-grade students at UPTD SMP Negeri 4 Kupang in the 2023/2024 academic year, and 2) The implications of this profile for the development of social guidance programs. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires. Central tendency analysis was applied as a data interpretation technique. The results of the analysis indicate that the average social ethics score of eighth-grade students at UPTD SMP Negeri 4 Kupang is 102, which falls within the range of 89–115 and is classified as good. Therefore, it can be concluded that eighth-grade students demonstrate positive social ethics, as reflected in respectful behavior, acceptance of others, empathy toward classmates, and their efforts to act and communicate based on personal awareness.ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji: 1) Profil etika sosial siswa kelas VIII di UPTD SMP Negeri 4 Kupang pada tahun ajaran 2023/2024, dan 2) Implikasi profil tersebut bagi pengembangan program bimbingan sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif, dengan data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner. Analisis kecenderungan pusat diterapkan sebagai teknik interpretasi data. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata etika sosial siswa kelas VIII di UPTD SMP Negeri 4 Kupang adalah 102, yang berada dalam rentang 89–115 dan diklasifikasikan sebagai baik. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa kelas VIII G menunjukkan etika sosial yang positif, sebagaimana tercermin dalam perilaku hormat, penerimaan terhadap orang lain, empati terhadap teman sekelas, serta upaya mereka untuk bertindak dan berkomunikasi berdasarkan kesadaran pribadi.

Abstract

This study originated from the high rate of delinquent behavior among adolescents in schools, which risks disrupting their personal and social development. The purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics of adolescent delinquency and analyze its impact on personal and social guidance programs at UPTD SMP Negeri 16 Kupang for the 2024/2025 academic year. The method used in this study was quantitative descriptive, taking a full sample of 28 students from class VIII A. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling with a measurement tool in the form of a questionnaire on juvenile delinquency. The questionnaire used a Likert scale with four answer choices and had been tested for validity through Pearson's Product Moment correlation and reliability. Based on data analysis, the results of this study show that the average juvenile delinquency score reached 154.21 with a standard deviation of 14.66 and a standard error of 2.77. At a significance level of 5% (z = 1.96), the confidence interval was in the range of 148.78 to 159.64. Therefore, the level of juvenile delinquency among students in class VIII A of UPTD SMP Negeri 16 Kupang is classified as very high, covering aspects of delinquency that cause physical harm to others, delinquency that causes material loss, social delinquency that does not cause harm, and delinquency that violates norms. Factors influencing this behavior originate from both internal and external sources, such as family, school, community, and technological influences. The results of this study emphasize the importance of implementing personal and social guidance programs in schools to improve self-control, social skills, communication, and responsibility in adolescents. It is hoped that the results of this study can serve as a guide for guidance and counseling teachers in designing more effective services to reduce deviant behavior and create a better learning environment.
