Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate how placement and distribution services influence students’ motivation to achieve. A descriptive quantitative approach was applied, involving a total population of 120 Grade VIII students at St. Theresia Catholic Junior High School in Kupang. A sample of 30 students was selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire tested for validity and reliability. The results of a simple linear regression analysis showed a significance value of 0.004 ( 0.05) with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.266, indicating that placement and distribution services contributed 26.6% to students’ achievement motivation. Thus, placement and distribution services have a positive and significant effect on students’ achievement motivation. It is recommended that these services be optimized through integrated planning and implementationABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis sejauh mana layanan penempatan dan penyaluran berkontribusi terhadap motivasi berprestasi siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif, melibatkan seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Katolik Sta. Theresia Kupang yang berjumlah 120 orang sebagai populasi. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 30 siswa ditentukan dengan teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen berupa angket skala Likert yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil analisis regresi linear sederhana menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,004 ( 0,05) dengan koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,266. Hal ini berarti layanan penempatan dan penyaluran memberikan kontribusi sebesar 26,6% terhadap motivasi berprestasi siswa. Dengan demikian, terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan layanan penempatan dan penyaluran terhadap motivasi berprestasi siswa. Disarankan agar layanan ini dioptimalkan melalui perencanaan dan pelaksanaan yang terintegrasi.

Abstract

Siswa siswi Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 1 Bajawa kabupaten Ngada, diketahui belum memiliki pengetahuan yang memadai tentang karier. Kondisi itu ditemukan dalam diskusi nonformal bersama beberapa siswa yang berdomisili di Kelurahan Tanalodu sehingga mendasari pelaksanaan kegiatan bimbingan karier bagi siswa siswi kelas XII Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 1 Bajawa. Tujuan kegiatan ini yaitu memberikan pengetahuan kepada siswa siswi tentang karier masa depan, membuka pikiran serta mempersiapkan mereka untuk merencanakan karier masa depan sejak dini. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan yaitu ceramah dan diskusi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Aula Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 1 Bajawa, sesuai kesepakatan dengan pihak sekolah.  Hasil kegiatan yang dicapai yaitu para siswa siswi peserta kegiatan antusias mengikuti kegiatan, Materi kegiatan yang disajikan tampak dipahami secara baik oleh para peserta kegiatan. Antusiasme dan pemahaman para siswa siswi peserta kegiatan terhadap kegiatan dan materi kegiatan yang disajikan, ditunjukkan melalui keterlibatan aktif para siswa peserta kegiatan dalam mengajukan pertanyaan dan memberikan pendapat saat diskusi. Para siswa juga tampak berani menyampaikan tentang rencana masa depannya setelah menamatkan jenjang Sekolah Menengah Atas. Para siswa menyatakan senang karena memperoleh informasi tentang karier masa depan dan harus menyiapkan diri dan mempunyai rencana lebih awal serta menyatakan mebutuhkan informasi sesuai kegiatan yang telah dilakukan.

These values reflect the ethical principles, social harmony, and outlook on life inherent in Malacca culture. Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of peer social support on the mental health of students at SMPN 16 Kupang City for the 2024/2025 academic year. This type of research is quantitative research with a quantitative descriptive approach. The population in this study were students in class VII A, B, C, D, E, and F, totaling 172 students and the research sample was 42 students. The sampling technique is a purposive sampling technique. The data collection tool is a questionnaire. The research data analysis technique is simple linear regression. The results of this study show that the tcount value is greater than ttable (-4.231 > 0.312) and the significance value is 0.003 < 0.05. The results of this research data analysis show that there is an influence of peer social support on the mental health of class VII students at UPTD SMPN 16 Kupang City for the 2024/2025 academic year.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between personality type and the learning motivation of class X students at the school. The type of research used is quantitative research with the independent variable (X), namely personality type, and the dependent variable (Y), namely learning motivation. The data collection technique uses a closed questionnaire, while data analysis is carried out using the Product Moment correlation formula with the help of the SPSS version 26 for Windows program. The results of the research show that there is a low but significant relationship between personality type and student learning motivation, with a correlation coefficient value of r = -0.358, which means it has a low level of relationship and a significance of p = 0.002 (p < 0.05), which means the null hypothesis (H₀) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) is accepted.

Abstract

Truancy remains a common problem in secondary schools, including in class XII B3 of SMA Negeri 3 Kupang City. This behavior not only disrupts the learning process but also impacts discipline, academic achievement, and student-teacher relationships. This study aims to analyze the factors causing truancy and examine the role of Guidance and Counseling (BK) services in addressing this behavior. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach, with five students who had previously skipped school and one BK teacher as subjects. Data collection techniques were conducted through semi-structured interviews and light observations in the school environment. The results showed that truancy was influenced by four main factors: lack of motivation to learn certain subjects, the influence of peer groups, boredom with the busy class schedule, and personal problems within the family environment. BK services have played a role through individual counseling, attendance monitoring, and collaboration with homeroom teachers, but their implementation has not been optimal due to time constraints and the large number of students. This study emphasizes the importance of more intensive, collaborative, and prevention-oriented BK services to minimize truancy in schools.ABSTRAKPerilaku membolos pelajaran masih menjadi permasalahan yang cukup sering terjadi di sekolah menengah, termasuk di kelas XII B3 SMA Negeri 3 Kota Kupang. Perilaku ini tidak hanya mengganggu proses pembelajaran, tetapi juga berdampak pada kedisiplinan, prestasi akademik, serta hubungan peserta didik dengan guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor penyebab perilaku membolos pelajaran dan mengkaji peran layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling (BK) dalam menangani perilaku tersebut. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek lima peserta didik yang pernah melakukan tindakan membolos dan satu guru BK. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur dan observasi ringan di lingkungan sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku membolos dipengaruhi oleh empat faktor utama, yaitu kurangnya motivasi belajar pada mata pelajaran tertentu, pengaruh pergaulan teman sebaya, kejenuhan terhadap jadwal pelajaran yang padat, serta permasalahan pribadi di lingkungan keluarga. Layanan BK telah berperan melalui konseling individual, pemantauan kehadiran, dan kerja sama dengan wali kelas, namun pelaksanaannya belum optimal karena keterbatasan waktu dan jumlah peserta didik yang banyak. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya layanan BK yang lebih intensif, kolaboratif, dan berorientasi pada pencegahan sejak dini untuk meminimalkan perilaku membolos di sekolah.

Abstract

Social media dependence among high school students has become a worrying phenomenon in the digital age. This study aims to analyze the role of guidance and counseling services in overcoming social media dependence among high school students. The method used is a qualitative approach through a literature study by examining relevant and indexed scientific articles, books, and research reports published in the last five years. The review process was conducted systematically through the stages of searching, selecting, and critically analyzing literature sources related to social media dependence and guidance and counseling interventions. The results of the study show that social media dependence has a significant impact on students' academic achievement, mental health, and quality of social interaction. Guidance and counseling services have a strategic role in preventive, curative, and developmental efforts through the application of individual counseling, group counseling, classical guidance, and cognitive behavioral counseling. Effective intervention programs include digital literacy psychoeducation, time management training, social skills development, and strengthening collaboration between counselors, parents, and schools. Scientifically, this article contributes by presenting a comprehensive synthesis of the latest research findings on the role of guidance and counseling services in addressing social media addiction, thereby providing a conceptual and practical foundation for the development of guidance and counseling service programs at the high school level. ABSTRAKKetergantungan media sosial pada siswa SMA telah menjadi fenomena yang mengkhawatirkan di era digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran layanan bimbingan dan konseling dalam mengatasi ketergantungan media sosial pada siswa SMA. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi literatur dengan menelaah artikel ilmiah, buku, dan laporan penelitian yang relevan dan terindeks, yang dipublikasikan dalam lima tahun terakhir. Proses kajian dilakukan secara sistematis melalui tahapan penelusuran, seleksi, dan analisis kritis terhadap sumber pustaka yang berkaitan dengan ketergantungan media sosial dan intervensi bimbingan dan konseling. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa ketergantungan media sosial berdampak signifikan terhadap prestasi akademik, kesehatan mental, serta kualitas interaksi sosial siswa. Layanan bimbingan dan konseling memiliki peran strategis dalam upaya preventif, kuratif, dan pengembangan melalui penerapan konseling individual, konseling kelompok, bimbingan klasikal, serta konseling kognitif perilaku. Program intervensi yang efektif meliputi psychoeducation literasi digital, pelatihan manajemen waktu, pengembangan keterampilan sosial, serta penguatan kolaborasi antara konselor, orang tua, dan pihak sekolah. Secara ilmiah, artikel ini berkontribusi dengan menyajikan sintesis komprehensif temuan-temuan penelitian terkini mengenai peran layanan bimbingan dan konseling dalam menangani ketergantungan media sosial, sehingga dapat menjadi landasan konseptual dan praktis bagi pengembangan program layanan bimbingan dan konseling di tingkat SMA.

Abstract

Bullying remains a significant issue in senior high schools and negatively affects students’ psychological and social development. This study aims to describe the role of Guidance and Counseling (GC) teachers in preventing bullying by synthesizing relevant literature and best practices implemented in various secondary schools. The study employed a library research approach using content analysis and comparative synthesis of national and international journal articles. The findings indicate that GC teachers hold a strategic position through four key functions: preventive, curative, collaborative, and advocative. The preventive function is implemented through information services, classroom guidance, and psychoeducation; the curative function through individual and group counseling; the collaborative function through coordination with multiple stakeholders in the school environment; and the advocative function through strengthening policies and fostering an anti-bullying school culture. These results highlight that a comprehensive GC service model is effective for bullying prevention and can be adapted to the context of SMA Negeri 3 Kupang with appropriate socio-cultural adjustments.

Abstract

Adolescent delinquency at the senior high school level remains a persistent issue requiring a professional response through Guidance and Counseling services. This study aims to analyze the efforts of guidance counselors in addressing juvenile delinquency through preventive, corrective, and collaborative service approaches. The research employs a qualitative method with a literature review, examining scholarly articles, books, educational regulations, and professional publications related to counseling interventions for problematic student behavior. The findings indicate that the effectiveness of counselor interventions is influenced by the quality of basic services, individual counseling, cooperation with homeroom teachers and parents, and the school’s ability to build a supportive educational climate. Scientifically, this article contributes by presenting a comprehensive synthesis of recent research findings regarding the role of guidance and counseling teachers in addressing juvenile delinquency. This can serve as a conceptual and practical foundation for developing guidance and counseling service programs at the high school level.ABSTRAK                 Kenakalan remaja di tingkat sekolah menengah atas tetap menjadi masalah yang persisten dan memerlukan tanggapan profesional melalui layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis upaya konselor bimbingan dalam menangani kenakalan remaja melalui pendekatan layanan preventif, korektif, dan kolaboratif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan tinjauan literatur, menganalisis artikel ilmiah, buku, peraturan pendidikan, dan publikasi profesional yang berkaitan dengan intervensi konseling untuk perilaku siswa yang bermasalah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas intervensi konselor dipengaruhi oleh kualitas layanan dasar, konseling individu, kerja sama dengan guru kelas dan orang tua, serta kemampuan sekolah dalam membangun iklim pendidikan yang mendukung. Secara ilmiah, artikel ini berkontribusi dengan menyajikan sintesis komprehensif dari temuan penelitian terbaru mengenai peran guru bimbingan dan konseling dalam menangani kenakalan remaja. Hal ini dapat menjadi landasan konseptual dan praktis untuk mengembangkan program layanan bimbingan dan konseling di tingkat sekolah menengah atas.

Abstract

Academic procrastination is a common problem that negatively affects students’ achievement and learning well-being. Guidance and Counseling (GC) teachers play a strategic role in helping students overcome these challenges through preventive, curative, and developmental services. This study aims to analyze the roles and intervention strategies of GC teachers in reducing students’ academic procrastination. The study employs a qualitative research method using a literature review approach that synthesizes theories, previous empirical findings, and relevant counseling intervention models. The results indicate that learning information services, individual and group counseling, and behavioral approaches such as self-management effectively reduce procrastination tendencies. Moreover, collaboration between GC teachers, subject teachers, and parents strengthens the effectiveness of interventions. This study concludes that optimizing the role of GC teachers is essential for reducing academic procrastination and improving students’ learning outcomes.ABSTRAKPenundaan akademik merupakan masalah umum yang berdampak negatif terhadap prestasi dan kesejahteraan belajar siswa. Guru Bimbingan dan Konseling (GC) memainkan peran strategis dalam membantu siswa mengatasi tantangan ini melalui layanan preventif, kuratif, dan pengembangan. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran dan strategi intervensi guru GC dalam mengurangi penundaan akademik siswa. Studi ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan tinjauan literatur yang mensintesis teori, temuan empiris sebelumnya, dan model intervensi konseling yang relevan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa layanan informasi pembelajaran, konseling individu dan kelompok, serta pendekatan perilaku seperti manajemen diri secara efektif mengurangi kecenderungan menunda-nunda. Selain itu, kolaborasi antara guru GC, guru mata pelajaran, dan orang tua memperkuat efektivitas intervensi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa mengoptimalkan peran guru GC sangat penting untuk mengurangi penundaan akademik dan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.
