Abstract

Several traditional fishing boats in Sendang Biru, Malang Regency are of the sekoci type using an inboard engine drive system with the position of the propeller shaft installed at an angle to the ship's base line. Based on the theory can reduce the performance of the ship propulsion system up to (2-3)%. In this research, we analyzed how much performance was lost/decreased on the lifeboat type fishing boats installed above. The method we use is the Free Running Model Test by making a model of a traditional fishing boat type of lifeboat with a model size of Loa = 100 cm, Lwl = 80.72 cm, B = 19.7 cm, H = 10.68 cm and T = 5, 08 cm made of aluminum sheet. The Free Running Model Test uses 1 motor and propeller which has a thrust of 60 watts, remote control equipment uses the main component of the NRF24L01 transceiver which works at a frequency of 2.4 Ghz with a range of 240 meters to 1 kilometer with conditions without obstacles and camera equipment drone to record the track. The results of this study show that there is a decrease/loss of performance at a 3-degree angle of 0.24%, at a 5-d. gree angle of 0.49%, at a 10-degree angle of 2.52%, at a 15-degree angle of 4.41% and at an angle of 20 degrees of 6.48%.

Abstract

The inadequate health facilities in the Karimunjawa Islands region still need attention. In particular, patients who have to be referred to the hospital still have problems in terms of transportation. This research presents the results of simulations of ambulance ship designs adapted to Karimunjawa conditions. A ship with a length of 8 m, width of 2.2 m, height of 1.1 m, and draft height of 0.37 m is analyzed regarding stability and seakeeping referring to IMO HSC Code 2000 Annex 8. Several parameters are determined, such as load, speed, significant wave height, and direction. The results in terms of stability show that loads of 100%, 50%, and 25% are still acceptable. Then, the results from seakeeping show that at a speed of 23 knots and significant wave height, especially in the diagonal wave direction of the ship, it is not acceptable

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

A floating dock (FD) is a platform for ship construction and repair. Structural damages to a FD can significantly reduce ship docking productivity, leading to substantial losses for shipyard companies. In order to restore its operational capabilities, repairing the damaged FD becomes essential. This research aims to plan and analyze the schedule to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of FD repair activities. The process begins with the establishment of a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), followed by determining the required man hours (MH) and scheduling using the Precedence Diagram Method (PDM). Finally, the S-curve is made for monitoring the progress of the FD repairment. The findings of this study, based on a case study involving a 6700 TLC FD, reveal a WBS comprising 66 repair tasks including two tasks for FD testing and finishing in addition to four areas of hull, walls, deck and tanks, piping systems, and machinery. The MH requirement for these tasks is 4048 MH. From the scheduling results, it was found that the duration was 12 days, with a total of 53 critical activities and 25 critical paths in the floating dock repair work using the precedence diagram method.

Abstract

In late December 2021, the ship KM Tarex 2, owned by PT. Pelayaran Mandala Sejahtera Abadi, underwent its annual docking at PT. Tambangan Permai Raya. During this time, the ship was found to be in a state of disrepair, including its accommodation rooms. The ship's current condition, feedback from stakeholders, and financial considerations served as the catalyst for a comprehensive interior redesign, with a primary focus on enhancing comfort, safety, and economy. The interior redesign of the accommodation spaces on the ship KM Tarex 2 involved the exploration of two alternative design concepts. These concepts centered around the Owner's Room, Crew's Room, Messroom and Life Jacket Storage. Alternative Design 1 adopted a Contemporary Concept, while Alternative Design 2 embraced a Modern Minimalist concept. The selection process for these designs involved soliciting feedback from a panel of 18 individuals, consisting of 12 representatives from PT. Pelayaran Mandala Sejahtera Abadi, 3 individuals from PT. Tambangan Permai Raya, and 3 crew members of the ship KM Tarex 2. Ultimately, Alternative Design 1 garnered an average approval rating of 67% across all rooms, surpassing Alternative Design 2 in preference. The selected design alternatives were evaluated for compliance with regulatory standards, achieving a 100% compliance rate for each room and an average comfort rating of 40%. Additionally, the chosen materials, as determined through a Google Form questionnaire, included ALUMETAL brand ACP Materials for room lining and ceiling, along with Henan Fortovan brand LVT for ship deck covering. These materials received an average approval rating of 61%. Economically, the analysis of material costs demonstrated that the project could be undertaken without exceeding the ship's annual income, ensuring financial feasibility.

Abstract

The Indonesian shipping industry still needs to be developed so that the nation's sovereignty over maritime areas and the country's economic growth can be realized. The domestic shipbuilding industry has limitations which result in the number of Indonesian ship fleets being small and uneven. This increases the risk of illegal exploitation of marine resources by ships from foreign countries. Human resource development is still considered to be a very important point in efforts to realize progress in the shipping industry. Therefore, financial management training for shipyard employees in the context of community service will be carried out on a hybrid basis in August 2023. Based on a questionnaire supported by interviews, the participant satisfaction level was obtained at 4.36 on Scale 5. The obstacles that emerged during the training process were distance and time limitations. participants who are company employees who are far from the training provider institution.
