Abstract

Background: Manggar Raya Village is one of the villages located in Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. Manggar Raya village is one of the largest coconut producers. Still, the community only uses fruit flesh and coconut water to sell, while the coconut fiber is left as waste by the village community. Collaborative Service Activities with independent real-life college students aim to assist in the manual processing of coconut coir waste into cocofiber and cocopeat. Methods: Participants in the activity consisted of 21 residents of Manggar Raya Village. The participatory method used in community service assistance which includes the provision of material, practice, discussion and evaluation. Result: Positive response from activity participants. Participants were satisfied with the activities and learned about the waste management provided. Conclusion: Assistance in processing coconut fiber to the community can increase knowledge by 85% about how to process coconut fiber into cocofiber and cocopeat. In addition, participants gained the skills to make decorative pots from coconut fibers to increase the selling value of cocofiber. In the future, it is hoped that the people of Manggar Raya village can become the center of the coconut fiber processing industry in South Sumatra.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persentase tingkat penguasaan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMA di Kecamatan Sako dan Kecamatan Alang-alang Lebar. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan nontes dan tes. Analisis data menggunakan Ms. Excel dengan menghitung persentase tingkat penguasaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Kecamatan Sako terkategori rendah dengan persentase sebesar 38,99% dan Kecamatan Alang-alang Lebar terkategori sedang dengan persentase 52,99%. Indikator yang terkategori rendah di Kecamatan Sako adalah menganalisis 40,09%, mengevaluasi 25,82%, dan menjelaskan 34,97%. Indikator tertinggi adalah pengaturan diri 53,27%. Di Kecamatan Alang-alang Lebar indikator dengan persentase terendah adalah mengevaluasi 43,52% dan tertinggi adalah pengaturan diri 59,03%.

Abstract

This research is descriptive research, as for the purpose of this research to improve students' critical thinking ability to environmental problem by using Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model in Environmental Science subject in Biology Education Study Program of UM Palembang. The study was conducted from September to December 2016. The results of this study indicate that PBL learning model is suitable to be applied in the subject of Environmental Knowledge. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persentase tingkat penguasaan keterampilan proses sains siswa SMA se-Kecamatan Bukit Kecil dan Ilir Barat I Palembang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan soal pilihan ganda beralasan. Sampel penelitian ada 4 sekolah yang memiliki akreditasi A dengan jumlah responden 335 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan cara Purposive Sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, kuesioner, observasi, dokumentasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan adalah persentase keterampilan proses sains siswa SMA Se-Kecamatan Bukit Kecil dan Ilir Barat I Palembang. Hasil persentase keterampilan proses sains siswa SMA se-Kecamatan Bukit Kecil palembang adalah indikator mengamati dengan persentase 68,18%, mengelompokkan 66,29%, menafsirkan 61,74%, meramalkan 73,48%, merumuskan hipotesis 42,04%, merencanakan percobaan 43,94%,dan mengkomunikasikan 51,89%. Hasil persentase keterampilan proses sains siswa SMA Se-Kecamatan Ilir Barat I Palembang adalah indikator mengamati dengan persentase 75,98%, mengelompokkan 77,21%, menafsirkan 62,43%, meramalkan 75,43%, merumuskan hipotesis 49,31%, merencanakan percobaan 53,72%, dan mengkomunikasikan 49,03%. Skills analysis of science process of high school students AbstractThis study aims to determine the percentage level of mastery of science process skills of high school students in Kecamatan Bukit Kecil and Ilir Barat I Palembang. The research method used in this research is quantitative descriptive using reasoned multiple choicequestions. The study sample consisted of 4 schools that had an A accreditation with a total of 335 students. Sampling technique using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews, questionnaires, observation, documentation and tests. The results of the study were the percentage of science process skills of high school students in Kecamatan Bukit Kecil and Ilir Barat I Palembang. The results of the percentage of science process skills of high school students in Kecamatan Bukit Kecil are indicators observing with a percentage of 68.18%, grouping 66.29%, interpreting 61.74%, forecasting 73.48%, formulating a hypothesis 42.04%, planning an experiment 43.94%, and communicates 51.89%. The results of the percentage of science process skills of high school students in Kecamatan Ilir Barat I Palembang are indicators observing with a percentage of 75.98%, classifying 77.21%, interpreting 62.43%, forecasting 75.43%, formulating a hypothesis 49.31%, planning an experiment 53.72%, and communicates 49.03%.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes and scientific attitudes of class XII students of MAN Cendekiawan OKI by using the Peer Tutoring Type Cooperative Learning model through Classroom Action Research which includes the stages of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. This research method is quantitative. The data obtained will be analyzed using the SPSS calculation application. The results showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes and scientific attitudes, where at the end of the cycle the learning outcomes in the knowledge domain reached 95.8% (average score 89.17) and students' scientific attitudes also experienced an increase in indicators. Honest attitude is 3.84 (very good), 3.83 (very good) for cooperation and 3.77 (very good) for self-confidence. In conclusion, the application of the Peer Tutoring Type Cooperative Learning model can improve learning outcomes and scientific attitudes of class XII students of MAN Cendekiawan OKI. Abstract

Background: Industrial era 4.0 has an impact on the world of education. This affects students, where students can understand subject matter such as biology, which contains abstract concepts such as circulation system material. The teaching materials developed in this study are expected to improve student learning outcomes by integrating guided inquiry learning models. This study aimed to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of guided inquiry-based electronic modules. Method: 4D model development research. Data collection by interview and questionnaire sheet. Result: The module validation of the language validator is 83%, the material is 81%, the media 81% has a good category, while the learning device validator is 96%, the learning validator is 98%, and 94% has a very good category. Practicality is taken from student responses which are divided into three stages: 81% preliminary trial, 89% quantitative trial, and 92% final trial showing a positive response. The effectiveness of this guided inquiry-based electronic module can improve student learning outcomes seen from the N-Gain score results. The control class is 0.38 with medium criteria, and the experimental class is 0.73 with high criteria. While the psychometric results of students who studied using guided inquiry-based electronic modules for three meetings, namely the first meeting 77% (good), the second meeting 91% (very good), and the third meeting 88% (very good). Conclusion: Guided inquiry-based electronic module on circulation system material has a potential effect on improving student learning outcomes

Abstract

Kantin Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang (UM Palembang) bukan hanya sekedar tempat untuk menikamati makanan, namun sebagai tempat bertukar pikiran ilmiah bagi sivitas UM Palembang. Suasana yang mendukung sangat dibutuhkan, terutama dari sisi kebersihan kantin yang masih perlu menjadi perhatian bagi pemilik kantin tertutama ketersediaan tempat sampah. Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PkM) “Bersinergi” Menuju Kantin Bersih merupakan PkM kolaborasi yang melibatkan dosen pendidikan biologi, mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi (S1 dan S2), serta pemilik kantin. PkM ini bertujuan untuk mengedukasi pengelola kantin untuk memanfaatkan barang bekas dalam rangka menuju kantin bersih di UM Palembang. Metode PkM yang dilakukan meliputi pembukaan, edukasi berupa aksi BerKipas (Bersih Kipas angin) serta pemanfaatan bahan bekas untuk kantin, evaluasi sekaligus penutup. Antusias pemilik kantin saat aksi bersih kipas angin serta penggunaan barang bekas menjadi barang berguna bagi kantin yang ada di UM Palembang menunjukkan PkM kolaborasi berjalan sukses. Berdasarkan hasil observasi setelah seminggu kegiatan terlihat bahwa barang bekas hasil kreativitas mahasiswa telah dimanfaatkan oleh mahasiswa dan pemilik kantin.

Abstract

Pada kurikulum merdeka terdapat Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum yang menggunakan soal berbasis High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Soal berbasis HOTS dibuat dalam bentuk pilihan ganda yang kompleks dengan menyajikan gambar, wacana, maupun infografis. Berdasarkan hasil asesmen diagnostik menggunakan tes tertulis dengan soal berbasis HOTS di salah satu sekolah Menengah, diketahui bahwa masih banyak peserta didik yang kesulitan dalam menjawab soal sehingga hanya 18% siswa yang mendapat nilai di atas kriteria ketuntasan minimum yaitu 65. Hasil tersebut berarti bahwa kemampuan berpikir HOTS peserta didik cenderung kurang. Peserta didik di kelas tersebut juga masih kesulitan dalam membuat kesimpulan pembelajaran. Melalui penelitian tindakan kelas ini, peneliti melakukan tindakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan HOTS siswa kelas X Sekolah Menengah Atas melalui model Project-Based Learning (PjBL). Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X pada rombel X.12 SMA 19 Palembang tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, tes, dan dokumentasi. Pengolahan data dilakukan menggunakan analisis deskriptif komparatif yaitu membandingkan data kondisi awal, data siklus 1 dan data siklus 2. Berdasarkan hasil dan analisis data penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi pembelajaran berbasis proyek dapat meningkatkan kemampuan HOTS peserta didik kelas X.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the mastery of concepts in protist material in class X SMA Muhammadiyah Sekayu through the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) models. The sample of research was grade X high school students of Muhammadiyah Sekayu, consisting of 13 students: 6 female and 7 male students. It is classroom action research with three cycles. The stages carried out in the study were (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) observation, (4) reflection. The achievement indicator is 75% in classical scale. The results showed that the the mastery of students’ concepts in classical are 0% in the first cycle, 30% in the second cycle, and 75% in the third cycle. Thus it can be concluded that the application of the PBL model can improve the mastery of students’ concepts in the protist material in class X SMA Muhammadiyah Sekayu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperbaiki penguasaan konsep pada materi Protista di kelas X SMA Muhammadiyah Sekayu melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMA Muhammadiyah Sekayu yang berjumlah 13 siswa, terdiri dari 6 siswa perempuan dan 7 siswa laki-laki. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan tiga siklus. Tahapan yang dilaksanakan dalam penelitian meliputi (1) Perencanaan; (2) Pelaksanaan; (3) Pengamatan; (4) Refleksi. Capaian indikator keberhasilan penelitian adalah perolehan nilai hasil tes penguasaan konsep secara klasikal 75%. Hasil penguasaan konsep siswa secara klasikal yaitu 0% pada siklus pertama, 30% pada siklus kedua, dan 75% pada siklus ketiga. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan adanya penerapan model PBL dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi Protista di kelas X SMA Muhammadiyah Sekayu. Abstract

The ability of students to understand the biological material conveyed by the teacher is certainly different from each other, therefore we need the right learning model and media to be used in the learning process. The discussion method commonly used by teachers has not been able to improve learning outcomes to the fullest. This is evidenced by the low participation of students in group discussions. Discussion is dominated by only certain students. This affects the cognitive learning outcomes of participants, it can be seen that the results of the correct answers to the questions about Genetic Material at the first try out of UN and USBN in 2018 were 40.28%, the second try out was 64.18% and USBN 2018 was 40.12%. still far below the KKM for 3.3 KD, which is 75. One solution that can be done immediately is through PTK, by implementing NHT type cooperative learning assisted by the Moodle application to improve cognitif learning achievement of students. The research instrument used was a test with multiple choice questions in two cycles. The results of the first cycle test showed an increase in classical completeness from the pre-action results which was 20.83%, increasing to 70.83%. In cycle 2 classical completeness increased to 78.26% and has reached the limit specified in the Action Success Index of 75%. Kemampuan peserta didik dalam memahami materi biologi yang disampaikan oleh guru tentu berbeda satu sama lain, oleh karena itu dibutuhkan model dan media pembelajaran yang tepat untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Metode diskusi yang biasa digunakan guru belum mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar secara maksimal. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan rendahnya partisipasi peserta didik dalam melakukan diskusi kelompok. Diskusi didominasi oleh peserta didik tertentu saja. Hal ini berimbas kepada hasil belajar kognitif peserta,terlihat bahwa hasil jawaban benar pada soal tentang Materi Genetik pada try out pertama UN dan USBN tahun 2018 sebesar 40,28%, try out kedua sebesar 64,18% dan USBN 2018 sebesar 40,12% masih jauh dibawah KKM untuk KD 3.3 yakni 75. Salah satu solusi yang dapat dilakukan segera adalah melalui PTK, dengan menerapkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT berbantuan aplikasi Moodle untuk meningkat hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes dengan bentuk soal pilihan ganda, dilakukan dalam 2 siklus. Hasil tes siklus 1 menunjukkan adanya peningkatan ketuntasan klasikal dari hasil pratindakan yakni 20,83% meningkat menjadi 70,83%. Pada siklus 2 ketuntasan klasikal meningkat menjadi 78,26% dan telah mencapai batas yang ditentukan dalam Indeks Keberhasilan Tindakan yakni 75%. Kata Kunci: Hasil Belajar, aplikasi Moodle, Numbered Heads Together (NHT).
