Abstract

This study evaluates the feasibility of integration of the single-bud sugarcane and catfish farming system and the growth rate of both plants and fish. The observation started from September to November 2020. The design used was randomized with one factor. The treatments used were cultivation of single-bud sugarcane in polybags, hydroponic single-bud sugarcane cultivation, integration of single-bud sugarcane-catfish, and catfish cultivation. The results showed that the growth of sugarcane seedlings and the catfish indicate that the integrated cultivation system of sugarcane-catfish is feasible to apply. Such an integration system produces a better number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area, and root length than the cultivation system of sugarcane seedlings in polybags. The weight of the canopy and the root of sugarcane seedlings in the integration system is also noticeable greater than the sugarcane seedlings cultivated in the polybag. In addition, the rate of catfish growth in the integration system is better than catfish's ordinary cultivation. Keywords: hydroponic, integration farming system, single bud sugarcane planting

Abstract

In crop cultivation, plant pests and diseases are a frequent issue that producers still manage with chemical pesticides. Similar to this, inorganic pesticides are used in the production of edamame soybeans, which will ultimately have a negative effect on health, the environment, and product quality. This study aims to obtain the best botanical pesticide formula that can reduce pest attacks on soybean cultivation so as to provide an environmentally friendly alternative to plant pest control. Because they leave no chemical residues and are safe for ingestion, organic pesticides can help soybean producers manage pests and diseases, cut production costs, and improve product quality. The study used a randomized block design (RBD) 6 treatments and 3 replications. The organic pesticide treatments were P0 (control), P1 (garlic), P2 (shallots), P3 (papaya leaves) and P4 (tobacco leaves), P5 (lemongrass). To evaluate the effectiveness of organic pesticides, an efficacy test was carried out. The results showed that all types of materials used as organic pesticides had an effect on reducing the level of pest attacks on soybean plants starting from the sixth week. An organic pesticide made from papaya leaves gave the highest real yield on the number of filled pods and pod weight of soybean plant. ABSTRAK Hama dan Penyakit tanaman merupakan masalah umum di dalam budidaya tanaman, dalam pengendaliannya petani masih bergantung pada pestisida kimia. Begitu juga pada budidaya tanaman kedelai edamame mereka menggunakan pestisida anorganik yang pada akhirnya akan memberikan dampak negatif ke kesehatan dan lingkungan termasuk pada kualitas produk. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendapatkan formula pestisida nabati terbaik yang dapat menurunkan serangan hama pada budidaya tanaman kedelai sehingga memberikan alternatif insektisida pengendali hama tanaman yang ramah lingkungan. Penggunaan pestisida nabati dapat membantu petani kedelai mengendalikan Hama dan penyakit, menekan biaya produksi dan meningkatkan kualitas produk karena bebas residu bahan kimia sehingga aman dikonsumsi. Penelitian menerapkan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) 6 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan pestisida nabati terdiri atas P0 (kontrol), P1 (bawang putih), P2 (bawang merah), P3 (daun pepaya) dan P4 (daun tembakau), P5 (serai). Untuk mengevaluasi keefektifan pestisida nabati dilakukan uji efikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan semua jenis bahan yang digunakan sebagai pestisida nabati berpengaruh untuk menekan tingkat serangan hama pada tanaman kedelai mulai minggu ke enam. Pestisida nabati yang berbahan dasar daun pepaya memberikan hasil nyata tertinggi pada jumlah polong isi dan bobot polong tanaman kedelai.

Abstract

Rubber trees are one of the main tree crops in Southeast Asia that provides latex as the primary source of tire production. However, commercial clones of rubber trees are attacked by pests such as root and foliage diseases and are exposed to abiotic stresses such as drought, which make the development of resistant rubber clones to biotic and abiotic stresses crucial. This mini review highlights the breeding program to develop resistant rubber tree crops through crossing and biotechnology, including in vitro culture and genetic transformation.

Abstract

Pembangunan pangan dan gizi di Indonesia erat kaitannya dengan perwujudan ketahanan pangan. Ketahanan pangan merupakan kondisi terpenuhinya kebutuhan pangan bagi rumah tangga yang tercermin dari tersedianya pangan secara cukup, baik dari jumlah maupun mutunya, aman, merata dan terjangkau. Sistem ketahanan pangan dan gizi juga berkaitan erat dengan akses pangan di tingkat rumah tangga dan individu serta status gizi anggota rumah tangga. KWT merupakan salah satu komunitas yang berperan dalam pemberdayaan perempuan dalam mewujudkan ketahanan pangan. KWT Pendopo Enam yang didominasi oleh ibu rumah tangga di salah satu perumahan di Kota Bogor giat dalam pengembangan pertanian perkotaan. Program Pemberdayaan Perempuan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan wawasan dalam pemanfaatan limbah rumah tangga khususnya menjadi pupuk serta meningkatkan pengetahuan mengenai teknik budidaya sayuran. Pelaksanaan program dilakukan secara bertahap yang meliputi kegiatan diskusi kelompok, pelatihan, dan demonstrasi. Melalui kegiatan ini, diperoleh wawasan dan keterampilan mengenai pemanfaatan limbah rumah tangga menjadi pupuk kompos dan teknik budidaya sayuran.

Abstract

Penguatan kelembagaan petani organik di Kelurahan Mulyaharja, khususnya bagi Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Ciharashas, merupakan langkah strategis dalam meningkatkan kemandirian dan keberlanjutan usaha tani organik. Kegiatan ini mencakup serangkaian aktivitas seperti Focus Group Discussion (FGD), pelatihan pembuatan pestisida nabati, pemaparan analisis usaha tani, serta monitoring dan evaluasi untuk menilai perkembangan dan dampak program. FGD bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan dan tantangan yang dihadapi anggota kelompok, sementara pelatihan pestisida nabati memberikan pengetahuan praktis dalam mengelola hama tanpa menggunakan bahan kimia berbahaya. Pemaparan analisis usaha tani membantu petani memahami aspek keuangan dan peluang usaha tani organik, sedangkan monitoring dan evaluasi memastikan implementasi yang efektif serta memberikan umpan balik untuk perbaikan program. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kapasitas kelembagaan KWT Ciharashas dalam mendukung pertanian organik yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Sektor pertanian terutama padi sawah merupakan penyumbang emisi gas rumah kaca terutama gas metana. Gas metana dihasilkan dari proses dekomposisi bahan organik secara anaerobik di sekitar perakaran tanaman padi, terutama yang terus digenangi. Penambahan bahan organik pada padi organik juga merupakan penyumbang gas metana. Strategi untuk menurunkan emisi metana pada budidaya padi sawah organik perlu dilakukan, apalagi saat ini produk beras organik memiliki nilai tambah ekonomi dan daya saing yang lebih baik terutama dengan semakin meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat akan produk yang sehat dan ramah lingkungan. Beberapa upaya untuk menurunkan emisi metana antara lain irigasi padi secara intermiten, pemilihan varietas padi yang lebih tahan terhadap genangan air dan berumur pendek, perlunya mengelola sisa-sisa tanaman secara tepat dengan mengomposkannya dan cermat dalam menggunakan pupuk organik yang dapat membantu mengurangi emisi metana. Kombinasi berbagai strategi budidaya yang menekan produksi emisi metana di atas diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keberlanjutan sistem padi sawah organik dan mendukung program pertanian cerdas iklim.

Abstract

Situ Gede Sub-district in Bogor City has the potential to develop tourism, yet still faces challenges in promoting tourist destinations and in operating administrative systems that have not adopted digital technology. To address these issues, a mixed-method approach was used by combining qualitative and quantitative methods through interviews and questionnaires involving local residents and village officials. The results showed that the majority of respondents gave positive responses to digital innovation and expressed their willingness to use an online platform. As a result, a village website was developed to serve as a digital platform facilitating the management of population documents and tourism information. The website is designed to improve the effectiveness of public services and strengthen the promotion of the village’s potential. This digital solution serves as an innovative approach to deliver fast, accessible, and community-oriented public services by leveraging technology.

Abstract

UMKM are one form of micro, small, and medium enterprises that are formed because of someone's personal desire. UMKM actors must strive to increase competitive advantage, UMKM must increase adaptation to currently developing technology, increase the ability to use social media and digital marketing, increase product innovation, and expand the market are some of the right steps that are worthy of being taken by UMKM actors. This is worthy of being implemented in order to increase the selling value of UMKM, especially in order to be able to compete with foreign products that are increasingly flooding the national market, considering that UMKM are an economic sector that is able to reduce unemployment (Sudaryanto. 2011). UMKM through digital marketing development can help the community increase income so that they can follow the development of entrepreneurship. The method in implementing UMKM empowerment activities is carried out using observation, surveys, questionnaires, and interviews. The results of this empowerment are that this activity was attended by UMKM Cihil Food which has 10 members, socialization of social media and digital marketing through the creation of a special website for UMKM Cihil Food which is combined with Barcode (QR) innovation. Based on this activity, it was found that in improving the welfare of UMKM, what must be done is to make maximum use of technology, improve the community economy, and improve human resources.

Abstract

Tegalwaru Village in Ciampea District, Bogor Regency, possesses substantial potential for sustainable Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) development, yet faces challenges in marketing and digital adoption. This study aims to analyze the progress of MSMEs in Tegalwaru, focusing on production, marketing strategies, and ecotourism integration to enhance economic growth. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews with MSME actors, field observations, and document analysis. Findings indicate that while MSMEs have advanced in product diversification and production capacity, their growth is hindered by limited digital marketing skills and inadequate access to capital. Conversely, the village’s rich natural and cultural resources present significant opportunities for ecotourism, which could synergize with MSMEs to boost local income sustainably. The study highlights the need for targeted interventions, including digital literacy training, improved financing access, and collaborative efforts among MSMEs, local government, and tourism stakeholders. By strengthening these aspects, Tegalwaru can achieve holistic MSME development, fostering economic resilience and community welfare. The research underscores the importance of integrating MSMEs with ecotourism as a strategy for inclusive and sustainable rural development.

Abstract

Crystal guava farmers in Cikarawang Village, Bogor Regency, face challenges in accessing information related to proper cultivation techniques, from seedling to harvest. The lack of access to valid and easy-to-understand sources of information causes farmers to have difficulty in dealing with various cultivation problems, such as pests, diseases, and effective fertilization. In response to these problems, an innovation was developed in the form of a digital agricultural website containing a complete summary of material on crystal guava cultivation. This website is designed to be easily accessible to farmers and functions as a practical and efficient one-way information media. In addition, this website is also equipped with an online community feature through a discussion group connected to expert mentors in the field of crystal guava cultivation. This feature allows farmers to share experiences, discuss, and obtain direct guidance from experts. This innovation is expected to improve farmers' knowledge, skills, and independence in managing crystal guava cultivation sustainably.
