Abstract

This study discusses the issue of music ethics in Islam which is still a debate among Muslims and scholars. The aim is to understand the diverse views on music, both from the perspective of ethics, Islamic law, history, and the opinions of contemporary scholars. This study uses a qualitative method with a library study approach, namely by reviewing various literature and religious sources from various schools of thought and the opinions of scholars to obtain a holistic understanding. The results of the study show that music in Islam cannot be decided absolutely halal or haram, but rather depends on the context, content, intention, and social and spiritual impacts of the music. Some scholars forbid music because it is considered to neglect religious obligations, while others allow it under certain conditions, such as wedding celebrations or preaching. Thus, it can be concluded that music must be understood proportionally and contextually within the framework of Islamic values, and music ethics are important so that this art remains in line with religious principles.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the utilization of Google Scholar by students who are currently writing their theses in the Islamic Education Study Program (PAI) at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang in searching for and selecting literature for thesis writing. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving students who are writing their theses, the head of the study program, the head of thesis supervision, and Islamic Education (PAI) lecturers. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The findings reveal that Google Scholar has become the primary academic search tool for students, particularly in writing the literature review (Chapter II) and methodology sections of their theses. Its ease of access, wide coverage of journals, proceedings, theses, and dissertations, and user-friendly features make it highly beneficial. However, several challenges remain, including limited digital literacy, unstable internet connections, difficulties in formulating keywords, and restricted access to paid journals. Supporting factors include the availability of campus internet facilities, guidance from lecturers, and students’ motivation to complete their theses. This study contributes to illustrating the development of academic digital literacy within the context of Islamic higher education. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of training in advanced search strategies to optimize the use of Google Scholar. Future research could adopt a quantitative approach to measure the effectiveness of Google Scholar in improving thesis quality and to compare it with other academic database.

Abstract

Education in Islam plays a central role in shaping human character and morals. Two well-known figures in the community, namely contemporary scholars Ustadz Adi Hidayat and Buya Yahya, have distinctive views on the concept of Islamic education. This article aims to analyze the perspectives of the two scholars regarding the concept of education in Islam, the purpose of education, the difference with general education, moral and character education, and its relevance in modern life which relates it to the application of technology. The method in this research is a literature study by analyzing lectures, books, and scientific studies that they convey. The results of this study illustrate that Ustadz Adi Hidayat emphasizes the importance of Qur'an and science-based education as an effort to build a generation of intellectuals with morals. On the other hand, Buya Yahya is more inclined to the exemplary aspect of learning and instilling adab before knowledge. These two approaches complement each other and provide a comprehensive insight into how Islamic education can be optimally applied in everyday life.

Abstract

Perilaku bullying di lingkungan sekolah dasar merupakan salah satu permasalahan sosial yang dapat mengganggu proses pembelajaran serta perkembangan psikologis peserta didik. Kurangnya pemahaman siswa mengenai bentuk dan dampak bullying sering menyebabkan perilaku tersebut dianggap sebagai hal yang wajar dalam interaksi sehari-hari. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya edukatif untuk meningkatkan kesadaran siswa dalam menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang aman dan saling menghargai. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan pemahaman kepada siswa mengenai pengertian bullying, bentuk-bentuk perilaku bullying, serta dampak negatifnya bagi korban maupun pelaku. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui program sosialisasi kepada siswa di SD YPMP 2 Palembang sebagai bagian dari program Kuliah Kerja Mahasiswa (KKM) Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Fatah Palembang. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tahap persiapan, penyampaian materi melalui sosialisasi dan diskusi interaktif, serta evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa mengenai perilaku bullying dan dampaknya, serta tumbuhnya kesadaran untuk saling menghargai, menumbuhkan empati, dan menjaga hubungan sosial yang positif di lingkungan sekolah.
