Abstract

The purpose and objectives of this study were to determine the effect of the cooperative jigsaw guided inquiry learning model and the effect on students' learning achievement abilities and the correlation between the learning model and the initial abilities of junior high school students. The research design used was a posttest only control design with factorial. Data collection techniques used documentation in the form of students' initial achievement abilities, observation sheets and science process skills tests to measure their learning achievement. The results showed that the average score of the science process skills of the experimental class students was higher, namely 83.30 compared to the control class, namely 75.15. While the average score of the science process skills of students with high, medium, and low initial achievement abilities were 85.10, 81.15, and 76.20, respectively. The results of the data analysis showed that the use of the cooperative jigsaw guided inquiry learning model and initial achievement abilities had a significant effect on students' science process skills. No interaction was found between the learning model and students' achievement abilities on the science process skills of junior high school students in Banda Aceh.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the acceptance of coffee-ground compost fertilizer developed by students of the Agricultural Industrial Engineering Program, Universitas Serambi Mekkah, among farmers in Aceh Besar Regency. The analysis was conducted using two theoretical frameworks: the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Diffusion of Innovation (DOI). Data were collected through questionnaires from farmers, focusing on indicators such as fertilizer quality, ease of application, affordability, accessibility, and soil impact. The TAM analysis revealed that farmers hold a positive perception of the fertilizer’s usefulness and ease of use, influencing their attitudes and behavioral intentions toward adoption. Meanwhile, the DOI analysis highlighted the role of innovation characteristics, communication channels, time, and social systems in the diffusion process. This research provides an initial overview of the potential adoption of coffee-ground-based organic fertilizer as an environmentally friendly alternative to support sustainable agriculture in Aceh Besar.

Abstract

Project-Based Learning (PjBL) is an active and innovative learning model that can improve students' understanding of complex concepts in biology. This study aims to analyze the application of the PjBL model in biodiversity material and its impact on the knowledge of 10th grade high school students. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of 55 students divided into two groups: an experimental group (28 students) using the PjBL model and a control group (27 students) using a conventional learning model. The results showed a significant difference between the learning outcomes of the experimental and control groups (p < 0.05). The average posttest score of the experimental group (85.2) was higher than that of the control group (74.6). The PjBL model proved to be effective in fostering students' knowledge of biodiversity through authentic and contextual learning experiences.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to test the effectiveness of integrated science teaching materials for junior high schools, especially the theme of household health and environmental sanitation. The research design uses a quasi-experiment with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research was carried out at SMPN 6 Banda Aceh class VII. The sample was determined by purposive sampling. The treatment in the experimental group was learning that used integrated science teaching materials, while the control group used electronic school books. The instruments used are test items, learning observation sheets, and learning tools. Data analysis was carried out using Anava to test mean differences and Scheffe test to test the effectiveness of integrated science teaching materials. The results of the research show that there are differences in high-level thinking abilities between junior high school students who use integrated science teaching materials and students who use separate/individual science teaching models in the field of biological studies. Students can remember 13%, understand 15%, application 18%, analysis 30% and evaluation 25% for thinking achievement. Teaching using integrated science teaching materials is very effective in improving the high-level thinking abilities of students at SMP Negeri 6 Banda Aceh.

Abstract

Project Based Learning (PjBL) is a learning model that emphasizes active student involvement in the learning process through contextual and meaningful project activities. This study aims to analyze the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model to the concept of global warming and its impact on the knowledge of tenth-grade students. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a pretest–posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of two classes: class IA X-1 with 22 students as the experimental class and class IA X-2 with 21 students as the control class, resulting in a total sample of 43 students. The experimental class was given treatment in the form of learning using the PjBL model, while the control class used conventional learning. The research instrument was a knowledge test administered before and after the treatment. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and N-Gain calculations. The results showed that there was a difference in knowledge gain between the experimental and control classes. The increase in student knowledge in the experimental class was higher than in the control class, with the N-Gain results being in the moderate to high category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model is effective in increasing student knowledge on the concept of global warming.
