Abstract

PT. GMT has a mission to deliver the products to the customer on time and high-quality products to improve services. Sometimes, the delivery of product delays caused by the raw materials delays or didn't meet specifications. Selection optimal suppliers of raw materials are one of the solutions. There are two factors must be considered for the selection of suppliers, qualitative factors and quantitative factors. In this study, for qualitative factors, based on the criteria needed by PT GMT. This research produces three Linear Programming models, first: a qualitative objective function that will be maximized called the Total Value of Purchase (TVP). TVP is an integration of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Mix Integer Programming Integration. Second, the quantitative objective function for the procurement cost of raw materials, which is called the Total Cost of Purchase (TCP). The third is to optimize qualitative and quantitative simultaneously using the Goal Programming method. The selection of suppliers based on TVP the total value is 97.25, and the total procurement cost is Rp. 36,914,000, based on TCP, the total value is 89.14, and the total of procurement cost is IDR 31,356,000, while based on Goal Programming, the total value is 93.18, and the total of procurement cost is IDR 32,621,000. PT GMT has been able to determine the optimal supplier based on the policies set.

Abstract

A supplier has become one of the main factors that influence the success of a company's supply chain activities. Supplier assessment is vital as suppliers have different performance. This study aims at assessing supplier performance using the integration of ANP and TOPSIS methods. Supplier performance assessment was based on supplier criteria indicators. Weighting criteria used ANP used to determine the most significant influence criteria of supplier performance.Furthermore,  TOPSIS was also employed to obtain supplier preference. Eight criteria and twenty-five sub-criteria were used for the supplier performance assessment.  The three highest sub-criteria were specification of quality, the flexibility of order changes, and production capacity. The priority results for suppliers were sorted from the highest to lowest ratio values.

Abstract

The increasingly fierce industry competition causes each company needs strong supply chain activities as part of the company to be able to survive in an environment full of competition. In carrying out supply chain activities, it is certainly inseparable from supply chain risks that can disrupt supply chain activities. In supply chain risk it is important to know the key risks as the risks that trigger the other risks in the supply chain. This study aims to identify the relationship of risk and mitigation to reduce the causes of the risk. The interpretive structural modeling (ISM) approach is applied to solve problems related to risk linkages and produced key risks which are the risks that most influence the occurance of other risks. The key risks obtained are then processed using the house of risk (HOR) approach to determine the priority of risk mitigation actions. ISM result obtained four key risks, namely the risk element of inputting data error when entering the number of goods and spesifications, product spesification errors desired by the customer, frequent changes in customer design requests and revisions to the design drawings. Then the result of the HOR method obtained four recommended priority mitigation actions, namely updating information on a scheduled basis, conducting briefings every day before work, coordinating and reconfirming requests for product spesifications, and implementing more strigent worker selection procedures. The linkage of the causes of risk, the validation of the ISM model statistically and the weighting of the triggered criteria are several aspects that further research is needed.

Abstract

The corn kernel separator machine discussed in this paper is designed for our partner, a cow breeder in Cisarua, Bogor. Our partner currently has a corn kernel separator that can work at a capacity of 50 kg per hour, but the results of the separation of kernels by the machine are not clean and the open design of the separator makes the corn kernels difficult to collect. Besides, it is challenging to find replacement parts in case of a machine failure. Our partner needs a new corn kernel separator to meet the growing need for feed as the number of cows increases. The purpose of this project is to design and build a corn kernel separator that can meet the need for animal feed at the partner’s farm. The stages of the design conducted are as follows. It begins with identifying the problems to be solved, followed by the concept design and determination of variants, the implementation of the best variant, and the detailed design including calculations needed before fabrication. The result of the design process is the realization of a corn kernel separator machine with an average capacity of a minimum of 138 kg per hour that meets the requirement of the partner. Besides, with this new corn kernel separator, the results of the separation are neater and the corn kernels are not thrown out of the machine during the separation process. The machine uses a shaft with a combination of pins and chains to separate the kernels and is driven by a 1-phase electric motor.
