Abstract

Due to rapid technological advances, innovation and creativity are necessary in every sector of life, including the world of arts education. This article aims to determine the role of music video content in increasing intrinsic motivation to learn music at Sanggar Biola Quinta Yogyakarta. Intrinsic motivation for learning music is an essential concept because the motive is built through habits that encourage students’ curiosity and high enthusiasm for music learning. Sanggar Biola Quinta Yogyakarta is a non-formal music education provider that is active in producing music video content on its YouTube channel. This research uses a qualitativemethod with a case study approach. Observation, documentation studies, and interviews carried out data collection. The research results show that the production of music video content in the form of violin solo cover videos on the Sanggar Biola Quinta YouTube channel plays a decisive role in increasing students’ intrinsic motivation to learn music, and increasing intrinsic motivation to learn music results in a high desire to study music more actively. The production of music video content that offers novelty in music learning tools at Sanggar Biola Quinta has a positive impact on student knowledge development.

Abstract

Di era digital dan perkembangan media sosial, TikTok menjadi platform yang populer untuk berbagi konten kreatif dalam pemasaran digital. Penelitian ini berfokus pada pemanfaatan musik viral sebagai elemen kunci dalam mencapai daya tarik pada konten TikTok. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan menganalisis upaya meningkatkan Brand Awareness pada konten TikTok yang dihasilkan oleh Widya Robotics melalui penggunaan musik viral. Brand Awareness bertujuan untuk menggambarkan keberhasilan pemasaran dari segi eksposur dan interaksi audiens terhadap merek. Konten diunggah pada akun TikTok Widya Robotics dengan penulis sebagai divisi Social Media Specialist. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus tunggal yaitu studi tentang kekhususan dan kompleksitas suatu kasus, untuk memahami aktivitasnya dalam keadaan penting. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan musik viral secara efektif dapat meningkatkan Brand Awareness konten TikTok Widya Robotics. Terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan dalam jumlah tampilan, interaksi, dan keterlibatan audiens setelah implementasi strategi ini.Kata kunci: musik viral, brand awareness, tiktok, media sosialAbstractViral Music in Enhancing Brand Awareness on TikTok Content. In the digital era and the development of social media, TikTok has become a popular platform for sharing creative content in digital marketing. This research focuses on utilizing viral music as a key element in achieving traction on TikTok content. This research aims to explore and analyze efforts to increase Brand Awareness on TikTok content produced by Widya Robotics through the use of viral music. Brand Awareness aims to describe marketing success in terms of audience exposure and interaction with the brand. The content is uploaded on Widya Robotics' TikTok account with the author as the Social Media Specialist division. This research uses a qualitative method with a single case study approach, which is a study of the specificity and complexity of a case, to understand its activities in important circumstances. The results showed that effective utilization of viral music can increase Brand Awareness of Widya Robotics' TikTok content. There was a significant increase in the number of views, interactions, and audience engagement after the implementation of this strategy.Keywords: viral music, brand awareness, tiktok, social media

Abstract

Music criticism serves as a cornerstone of higher education music programs. Its discourse is indispensable for maintaining a stable music ecosystem, especially within journalistic and curatorial contexts. The Music Department at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta, a research-oriented institution, has integrated a music criticism course into its core curriculum. Moreover, this course is an elective and accessible to students from diverse disciplines and institutions participating in the Kampus Merdeka program. An innovative pedagogical approach is imperative to ensure the relevance of music criticism to society and academia.  This research explores film's potential as an alternative tool and approach for music criticism education. Film can enhance student engagement and learning experiences by combining auditory and visual elements. The research investigates the narrative structure of musical films and explores how these films can cultivate critical thinking among students. This study delves into dramatic structure and musicological perspectives using a qualitative descriptive methodology. This research involves the stages of film observation and focus group discussions with students in the classroom to determine which films are representative and can be used as study materials. The analysis involves Vogler's classification theory and Vladimir Propp's narrative structure. The data conclusions triangulate the analysis results using theory and data interpretation based on observations as well as focus group discussions. Findings reveal that supporting characters, often overlooked in cinematic narratives, play a significant role in mapping the music profession. This study underscores the pivotal roles of journalists and critics, demonstrating their tangible contributions to the social and cultural landscape.  The study will offer a new approach to innovative music criticism education by incorporating the appreciation of musical films as a medium to enhance the ability to analyze phenomena within the arts.

Abstract

As a magical art medium, music contains values that grow in the souls of music enthusiasts. This study aims to analyze the strategy of Rumah Orkestra Jogja (ROJ) in fostering an independent work ethic and collectivity in elementary school children. This study also explores children's musical experiences in ROJ as a non-formal music learning community. The research method used is a qualitative approach with case studies. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation of community members, trainers, and parents. The study results show that ROJ has succeeded in forming an inclusive learning space and supporting the development of children's social and musical skills through creative approaches, such as thematic concerts and fun practice programs. Collective experiences in music at ROJ improve technical competence and build discipline, responsibility, and the ability to work together.

Abstract

Pembelajaran biola pada tingkat menengah mencakup berbagai teknik yang spesifik dalam rangka pembentukan intonasi yang baik, diantaranya adalah double-stops. Double-stops adalah teknik permainan violin pada tingkat menengah yang terdapat pada repertoar di berbagai gaya ataupun periode dalam kultur musik barat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji implementasi teknik double-stop dalam Violin Concerto No. 2 karya Anatoly Komarowsky pada Violin Menengah I di Jurusan Musik FSP ISI Yogyakarta. Penulis menyoroti kelangkaan kajian repertoar musik violin pada tingkat menengah, terkhusus karya Komarowsky. Komarowsky adalah komposer musik violin asal Russia pada periode modern. Violin Concerto No.2 mengandung idiom, variasi teknis, dan interpretasi yang melekat pada periode modern khas Eropa Timur. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan analitik secara musikologis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemetaan teknik double-stops beserta penempatannya, baik pada notasi yang tertulis apa adanya maupun notasi yang tidak tertulis. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat menjadi rujukan bagi violinis pada tingkat menengah untuk mempelajari karya ini, terlebih lagi untuk dapat mengembangkan kemampuan teknis pada repertoar lainnya.

Abstract

 Transformasi digital telah membuka peluang inovatif dalam pembiayaan pertunjukan seni, salah satunya melalui pemanfaatan platform crowdfunding. Mekanisme ini memungkinkan pelaku seni, termasuk kelompok orkestra simfoni untuk mengakses sumber pendanaan langsung dari masyarakat tanpa bergantung sepenuhnya pada sponsor tradisional atau institusi pemerintah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis model dan strategi crowdfunding yang efektif dalam sektor pertunjukan seni dengan fokus khusus pada kelompok orkestra simfoni. Melalui metode studi pustaka dan tinjauan literatur, kajian ini mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor penentu keberhasilan seperti keterlibatan audiens, transparansi kampanye, serta tantangan dalam mengimplementasikan, termasuk kompetisi di dalam platform dan kesulitan dalam mencapai target pendanaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan crowdfunding tidak hanya meningkatkan aksesibilitas dalam pembiayaan tetapi juga memperkuat hubungan antara kelompok orkestra simfoni dengan komunitasnya melalui partisipasi aktif publik. Selain itu, strategi digital ini dapat memperluas jangkauan audiens dan menciptakan basis pendukung yang lebih berkelanjutan. Temuan penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi teoretis dalam memahami dinamika pembiayaan alternatif pada kelompok orkestra simfoni di era digital, sekaligus menawarkan rekomendasi praktis untuk mengoptimalkan potensi menggunakan crowdfunding dalam mendukung keberlanjutan finansial dan artistik pada perencanaan program pertunjukan kelompok orkestra simfoni.  Crowdfunding Financing Models for Symphony Orchestras in the Digital Era 4.0 ABSTRACTThe digital transformation has created innovative opportunities in the financing of performing arts, particularly through the use of crowdfunding platforms. This mechanism enables art practitioners, including symphony orchestras, to obtain funding directly from the public without relying entirely on traditional sponsors or governmental institutions. This study aims to examine effective crowdfunding models and strategies within the performing arts sector, with a specific focus on symphony orchestras. Through a literature review approach, this research identifies key success factors, including audience engagement, campaign transparency, and common implementation challenges such as competition within platforms and difficulties in achieving funding targets. The results of this study indicate that crowdfunding not only enhances access to financial resources but also strengthens the relationship between symphony orchestras and their communities through active public involvement. Furthermore, this digital strategy has the potential to broaden audience reach and build a more sustainable supporter base. This study offers theoretical contributions to the understanding of alternative financing dynamics for symphony orchestras in the digital age, while also providing practical recommendations for optimizing the use of crowdfunding to support both financial and artistic sustainability in symphony orchestra performance planning.

Abstract

This article is an output of MUSAKACANKARA's research as part of the Belmawa 2023 PKM-RSH, aimed at uncovering the experiences of individuals with disabilities within the spectrum of karawitan. Their contributions are highlighted through captivating performances at the Yogyakarta Gamelan Festival 2022. Disabled friends successfully presented works that express and actualize their roles within society, including within the artistic ecosystem. The research aims to explore the experiences interpreted by disabled individuals from the Candrika Adikara Art Studio. We chose a case study as the primary approach for the qualitative method that underlies this research. The case study involved observing the Candrika Adikara Art Studio and engaging in dialogue with key figures involved in the intersection of the art world and disability issues in Yogyakarta and its surroundings. Our study was expanded by exploring the realms of literary and visual arts and reclaiming performing arts with a fresh discourse on self-equality. The participants' perspectives become a significant force of value that is unveiled and presented to the readership and the academic community. The articulation of the artistic experiences of our disabled friends becomes a manifestation of the creation of a new paradigm that prioritizes their needs for existence and recognition in various aspects of life. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap pengalaman penyandang difabel pada spektrum seni pertunjukan karawitan. Kiprah mereka disorot melalui penampilan memukau di panggung Yogyakarta Gamelan Festival 2022. Teman-teman difabel sukses menyuguhkan karya yang mengekspresikan dan mengaktualisasikan peran mereka di tengah masyarakat, termasuk di dalam ekosistem berkesenian. Riset ini berfokus untuk menggali pengalaman yang dimaknai oleh teman-teman difabel dari Sanggar Seni Candrika Adikara. Kami memilih studi kasus sebagai pendekatan utama dari metode kualitatif yang memayungi riset ini. Studi kasus dilakukan dengan mengobservasi Sanggar Seni Candrika Adikara dan berdialog dengan sejumlah sosok penting yang berkiprah dalam pertautan dunia seni dan persoalan disabilitas di Yogyakarta dan sekitarnya. Perluasan studi kami lakukan dengan mengeksplorasi wilayah sastra, seni rupa, dan menangkap kembali seni pertunjukan dengan kebaruan wacana tentang kesetaraan diri mereka. Perspektif pelaku menjadi kekuatan nilai yang penting diungkap dan digulirkan kepada khalayak pembaca, begitu juga kepada dunia akademik. Penuangan pengalaman berkesenian teman-teman difabel menjadi manifestasi atas terciptanya paradigma baru yang mengedepankan kebutuhan mereka untuk bereksistensi dan diperhitungkan di berbagai bidang kehidupan.

Abstract

AbstrakPemerintah Indonesia berupaya menghambat penyebaran virus dengan melakukan pembatasan sosial selama Pandemi COVID-19. Praktik mata kuliah instrumen biola di Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta dilakukan melalui Zoom Meeting, Google Duo, Google Meet selama masa Pandemi COVID-19. Setelah pandemi, praktik instrumen biola dilaksanakan secara langsung kembali. Tujuan penelitian ini antara lain mengetahui perubahan motivasi mahasiswa Mata Kuliah Studi Instrumen Biola di masa Pasca-Pandemi COVID-19 dan mengetahui bagaimana proses perubahan dan langkah yang diambil oleh para mahasiswa guna meningkatkan motivasi di masa pandemi hingga pasca-pandemi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa para mahasiswa mata kuliah praktik instrumen biola mengalami peningkatan motivasi di masa pasca-pandemi COVID-19 dikarenakan oleh mata kuliah praktik mulai dilakukan secara langsung dan interaksi antar teman sangat berpengaruh pada motivasi mereka. Perubahan motivasi di pasca-pandemi COVID-19 terjadi secara bertahap seiring berjalannya waktu dan perkembangan kondisi pasca-pandemi. Kata kunci: motivasi, pandemi covid-19, biola, mahasiswa AbstractPractice Motivation Changes in Violin Instrument Study Students in the Post-Pandemic COVID-19. The Indonesian government was trying to prevent the spread of the virus by implementing social restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Practical violin instrument courses at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta were carried out via Zoom Meeting, Google Duo, and Google Meet during the COVID-19 pandemic. After the pandemic, violin instrument practice was carried out in person again. The aims of this research include finding out changes in student motivation for the Violin Instrument Study Course during the post-COVID-19 pandemic period and finding out the change process and the steps students took to increase motivation during the pandemic and post-pandemic. The research method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation and documentation. The research results show that students on practical courses on violin instruments experienced increased motivation in the post-COVID-19 pandemic period because practical courses began to be carried out directly, and interactions between friends greatly influenced their motivation. Changes in motivation in the post-COVID-19 pandemic occur gradually over time, as well as the development of post-pandemic conditions. Keywords: motivation, covid-19 pandemic, violin, student
