Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between vocabulary skills and news text writing skills. The study involved a sample of class VIII students at SMP Kartika 1-5 Pekanbaru. The research is quantitative, using correlation as the method. The data used consists of objective tests and performance evaluations. The results of the data analysis indicate that the student's vocabulary mastery level was classified as good, with an average of 74.636, while their ability to write news texts was also classified as good, with an average of 77.634. The data analysis reveals a significant relationship between vocabulary skills and news text writing skills. This relationship is evident from the correlation coefficient value tested using the Pearson product-moment correlation formula. The calculations demonstrate that the value of the count is 0.962, which is greater than r table (0.2681), indicating a genuine correlation between variable X and variable Y. According to the interpretation table for correlation levels, this falls into the high category, within the scale of 0.80-1.00. Hypothesis testing using the t-test and f-test, with a 95% confidence level and degrees of freedom (dk) = n-2, yielded values of 4.761 > 1.675 and 653.343 > 4.02, respectively. Therefore, H0 is rejected, and H1 is accepted, as the hypothesis testing results prove a significant positive correlation of 96.2% between vocabulary skills and news text writing skills among class VIII students of SMP Kartika 1-5 Pekanbaru. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan efektivitas berdaya nalar dalam kegiatan belajar saat daring. Kegiatan bernalar mencakup disiplin diri, berpikir kritis, dam berpikir kreatif. Desain tindakan penelitian dengan metode survei. Terdapat 169 mahasiswa yang terangkum secara acak berdasarkan partisipasi responden dalam mengikuti survei, terdiri dari 19 laki-laki dan dengan persentase 11,23% dan 150 perempuan dengan persentase 88,8%. Sumber data berasal dari tanggapan para responden yang mengisi instrumen. Teknis analisis menggunakan melalui analisis faktor pada instrumen, korelasi Product Moment, deskriptif-mean dan standar deviasi, serta Anova satu arah untuk mendapatkan gambaran signifikansi faktor-faktor tersebut. Hasilnya menunjukkan tiga komponen utama yang menjadi dasar analisis dan pemetaan terhadap daya nalar di kalangan mahasiswa dalam belajar saat daring berada pada rata-rata 4,035 dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Data RMSEA 0,08 dan tidak melebihi 0,08 yang menunjukkan instrumen berkategori baik dan valid pada nilai AR di atas 0,4 dan AVE di atas 0,5. Melalui Anova diketahui nilai F 0,000 < 0,05, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan. Masing-masing faktor tersebut memiliki karakteristik tersendiri ketika diimplementasikan dalam kegiatan belajar.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the meaning of proverbs from the aspect of cognitive semantics and their relevance to character education. This study used a qualitative research approach. The research data was documentary in nature and utilized in the life of the Malay community. The selection of proverbs was conducted by considering the uniqueness of their meanings, popularity, and relevance in everyday life. There were eight representative proverbs that serve as the basis for analysis and were relevant to character education. The analysis method employed cognitive semantics to elucidate the meaning within the selected proverbs and their relevance to character education values that can be applied at the educational unit level. The analysis of proverbs through cognitive semantic analysis revealed the presence of three types of metaphors, namely conceptual metaphors, orientation metaphors, and image schema metaphors. The values found in the proverbs were relevant to character education, it includes: responsibility, empathy, flexibility, caution, wisdom, discipline, persistence, concerns, sensitivity, hard work, cooperation, patience, awareness, equality, diligence, accuracy, openness, vigilance, consistency, respect, honor, nationalism, realism, and readiness. The values found in the proverbs can serve as a guidance and strengthen the implementation of character education at the educational unit level.

Abstract

Background: Kompetensi guru dalam mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal pada materi pembelajaran berbasis PPT penting dilakukan. Kombinasi antara teknologi dan kearifan lokal menciptakan pengalaman pembelajaran yang lebih menarik dan bermakna bagi siswa. Tujuan pelatihan mengembangkan kompetensi guru dalam menyusun materi pembelajaran berbasis PPT bermuatan lokal. Metode: Penelitian ini dengan metode kuantitatif deskriptif. Pelatihan berfokus kepada guru-guru SMA sederajat dengan jumlah 9 orang di Desa Kepala Pulau, Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi Provinsi Riau. Penetapan sampel dengan pendekatan purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan kuesioner. Teknis analisis data dengan statistik deskriptif. Pelatihan ini dikatakan berhasil jika 75% aktivitas dan tujuan yang diharapkan tercapai. Hasil: Hasil pelatihan ini menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi awal guru sangat beragaram. Pelatihan yang diberikan memberikan dampak positif terhadap kemajuan kompetensi guru dalam menyusun materi berbasis PPT dengan rata-rata 91,67 berkategori tinggi. Kesimpulan: Kompetensi guru dalam menggunakan PPT sangat penting salam konteks menyusun materi berbasis kearifan lokal. Latihan yang intensif membantu guru menguasai teknis penggunaan PPT dan kearifan lokal sebagai bagian dari proses pembelajaran yang kontekstual.

Abstract

In order to implement communicative learning activities, ateacher must be able to design various means or media so that learningprocess keeps running well. A teacher is expected not to stutter indesigning media for various learning needs. The main purpose of thisstudy is to examine the strategies done by teachers in designing media toimplement communicative learning. This research is a descriptiveresearch in which the data were collected from teachers of MadrasahAliyah Negeri (public Islamic senior high schools) in Pekanbaru city. Theresearch sample was 36 teachers. The instrument used to collect the datawas a scale questionnaire. The data were descriptively analyzed. Eachitem of the questionnaire becomes the basis and the principal of theresearch analysis. The research findings reveal that to implementcommunicative learning, the teachers designed learning media. Thestrategies they used are making use of e-learning and making use ofvarious teaching and learning facilities, creating student worksheets andcompiling teaching materials, and presenting slides or other media inaccordance with the teaching materials. Each of the strategy is set at avery high standard. The teachers’ strategy to design media at the publicschools runs well. It can be seen from the average of the strategy that is4.48 and the average belongs to very high category. The data also clearlyreveal that the teachers are creative and innovative in designing media toimplement communicative learning.

Abstract

This research aims to determine students' ability to write drama texts before and after using regional tourism videos, as well as to analyze the effect of using tourist videos on the learning outcomes of class XI students at SMK Multi Mekanik Masmur. This research is expected to provide insight into the effectiveness of using video as a learning medium in improving students' drama writing skills. This type of research is quantitative research with a pre-experimental method using a pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 30 students selected by purposive sampling from a population of 195 students. Data was obtained through writing tests, questionnaires and observations, then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical tests. The research results show that students' ability to write drama texts before using regional tourism videos has an average pretest score of 63.89, which indicates that there is a level of understanding that needs to be improved. After using regional tourism videos in the form of the Siak Palace and the Sang Nila Museum, the average posttest score increased to 86.57, which reflects significant progress in students' ability to write drama texts. Hypothesis testing shows that the t-count of 16.9 is higher than the t-table of 1.70, with a significance threshold of 0.05 and degrees of freedom (df) of 29. This indicates that students' writing skills before and after receiving regional tourism video treatment are significantly different.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tingkat kemampuan menulis pantun pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Kubu Babussalam, dengan fokus pada empat keterampilan berbahasa: membaca, menulis, menyimak, dan berbicara. Keterampilan menulis pantun dianggap krusial dalam komunikasi efektif. Tujuan penelitian adalah mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis pantun siswa menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan instrumen tes menulis pantun, yang mengacu pada tema pantun teka-teki. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Kubu Babussalam, Rokan Hilir, menggunakan teknik statistik deskriptif berupa distribusi frekuensi dan rata-rata tendensi sentral. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan menulis pantun siswa adalah 83,29 dengan kategori tinggi. Nilai ini diperoleh dari total skor 4498 dibagi jumlah sampel 54. Berdasarkan kategori, 4 siswa (7%) berada pada kategori rendah, 18 siswa (33%) kategori sedang, 27 siswa (50%) kategori tinggi, dan 5 siswa (9%) kategori sangat tinggi. Untuk syarat penulisan pantun, terdapat 87% siswa pada kategori sedang dan 13% pada kategori sangat tinggi. Dalam hal kesesuaian isi pantun, 39% siswa berada pada kategori sedang, sedangkan 61% pada kategori sangat tinggi. Penelitian merekomendasikan siswa untuk mempertahankan dan mengembangkan kemampuan menulis pantun, serta menyarankan guru bahasa Indonesia untuk mendalami materi pemilihan diksi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pemilihan diksi siswa masih dalam kategori sedang dengan nilai rata-rata 68,14. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi acuan untuk inovasi pembelajaran menulis pantun di masa depan, guna mengatasi kelemahan yang ditemukan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul Kemampuan Menulis Teks Cerpen Siswa Kelas IX SMP Negeri 2 Ukui. Masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu bagaimana kemampuan menulis teks cerpen siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 2 Ukui? Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis teks cerpen siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 2 Ukui yang ditinjau dari segi aspek isi, organisasi dan penyajian, dan bahasa. Metode dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif sesuai dengan kebutuhan penulis untuk mengukur kemampuan menulis teks cerpen siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 2 Ukui. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 2 Ukui terdiri dari 5 kelas yaitu kelas IX-A, IX-B, IX-C, IX-D, dan IX-E. Sampel penelitian ini 116 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan berkategori “sedang” dengan skor rata-rata 66. Aspek isi nilai rata-rata 73 berkategori sedang, aspek organisasi dan penyajian diperoleh nilai rata-rata 65 dengan kategori sedang, dan aspek bahasa nilai rata-rata 59 dengan kategori rendah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peningkatan kemampuan menulis puisi siswa SMPN 1 Rumbio Jaya, Kabupaten Kampar, melalui penerapan metode pemodelan. Metode ini melibatkan pendekatan praktis dalam mengembangkan keterampilan menulis puisi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui pengumpulan data dari siswa yang mengikuti program pemodelan menulis puisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode pemodelan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis puisi siswa. Terdapat peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan mereka dalam merangkai kata, memahami konsep puisi, dan ekspresi emosi melalui karya-karya puisi mereka. Selain itu, siswa juga menunjukkan peningkatan minat dalam mengekspresikan diri melalui puisi. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi penting terhadap pengembangan kurikulum dan metode pengajaran di sekolah, khususnya dalam konteks pengajaran menulis puisi. Selain itu, hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi referensi bagi guru dan peneliti lain yang tertarik dalam memperbaiki metode pengajaran menulis puisi di sekolah.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the reading attitudes of high school students in order to develop effective strategies to improve mastery of information through reading. The research was conducted using descriptive methods. The data source is students at the high school level with a limited sample of 31. The data collection technique is in the form of a questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out by observing the items that determine students' attitudes related to reading. The analysis process is strengthened by descriptive statistics. The results of the research show the order of students' reading attitudes from highest to lowest, namely: observing the title of the reading source before reading, looking for a safe environment, looking for reading friends, helping friends in understanding reading, looking for information related to the benefits of reading texts, reading anything, motivating yourself, asking friends or teachers if you don't understand, trying to do assignments, using free time to read, and implementing the principle of mandatory reading. All attitudes carried out by students have a positive impact on strengthening reading skills and ultimately broadening horizons and information.
