Abstract

Mathematical literacy in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) focuses on students ability to analyze, justify, and communicate ideas effectively, formulate, solve and interpret mathematical problems in a variety of forms and situations. Assessment is used to focus on problems in real life, regardless of the situation or problem that is often discussed in the classroom. Judging from the age of cognitive development, primary school students are still bound by concrete objects that can be captured by the five senses. In the abstract mathematics learning, students need learning tools such as media and props to further clarify what will be delivered by teachers so that they can more quickly understood and understood by students. Learning math is expected to give students an understanding of integrated, comprehensive and holistic about the material that has been presented. The understanding is not only meets the demands of substantive mathematics learning, but can provide significant benefits to students, this is in accordance with the purpose of contextual learning. Where contextual learning is an approach to learning that emphasizes the involvement of students in full process to be able to find the material studied and relate them to real life situations that encourage students to be able to apply it in their daily lives. There are four steps in implementing contextual learning, namely: motivation, comprehension, application, and assessment based on the components of contextual learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the number of students who have difficulty in performing arithmetic operations on the fractional material in the context of the story of a story that strengthens the students to be able to solve these problems. This can be implemented in many ways that provide only limited explanations. This study was conducted on PGSD students who are prospective elementary school teachers who will teach elementary school students, so it can be used as a benchmark to determine the success and weakness of students in completing the subjects of elementary school mathematics. Method of modeling the use of ways to overcome problems that exist in everyday life. This study was conducted in the odd semester of 2016/2017. The subject of this research is PGSD student of FKIP Universitas Riau in third semester (student of class of 2015). The design of this study was quasi experimental nonequivalent control group, because the respondents in this study were not randomly selected, the researchers used the existing classes. The active ability of students of PGSD FKIP University of Riau on fractions through model approach of improvement method can be proved by the improvement of students ability of PGSD FKIP Universitas Riau from average pretest score 53,30 to 70,69 on average of posttest score, with an average score increase of 0.37 in the medium category.

Abstract

This study aims to improve primary students’ mathematical connections and habits of mind abilities by using REACTstrategy. This research is a quasi-experimental study conducted in 003 Peranapelementary schoolin the even semester of 2017/2018. The subjects of this study were class V students. Based on the results of data analysis and findings obtained in the study, it can be concluded that there are significant differences in abilities improvement between classes that use REACT strategies and general learning with the influence of 52%. This is proved by an enhancement of students’ mathematical connections ability in the experimental class,by the average of initial testis 54.96 to 79.13 and in the final test with an average enhancement of 0.54 included in the medium category. Whereas the control class has an enhancement in the average of initial test from 55.67 to 64.33, and in the final test with the mean of 0.05.Meanwhile, students habits of mind abilities which include self-regulation, critical thinking, and creative thinking ability can appear in the experimental and control class even though these abilities do not appear in all students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh banyaknya siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam melakukan operasi hitung pada materi pecahan dalam konteks soal cerita yang menuntut siswa untuk dapat menyelesaikan soal-soal tersebut. Hal ini dikarenakan pembelajaran konvensional di SD banyak yang hanya memberikan penjelasan yang terbatas. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap mahasiswa PGSD yang merupakan calon guru SD yang nantinya akan mengajar siswa-siswa sekolah dasar, sehingga bisa dijadikan sebagai tolak ukur untuk mengetahui keberhasilan dan kelemahan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan persoalan matematika siswa SD. Penggunaan model method memungkinkan mahasiswa untuk mempelajari struktur masalah dari berbagai macam masalah yang terdapat dalam kehidupan sehari-sehari. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil tahun 2015/2016. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa PGSD FKIP Universitas Riau semester III (mahasiswa angkatan 2014). Desain penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperiment none quivalen control group, karena siswa yang menjadi responden pada penelitian ini tidak dipilih secara acak, melainkan peneliti menggunakan kelas yang ada. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa PGSD FKIP Universitas Riau pada pecahan melalui pendekatan model method mengalami peningkatan, hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan adanya peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa PGSD FKIP Universitas Riau dari rata-rata skor pretest 53,30 menjadi 70,69 pada rata-rata skor posttest, dengan rata-rata skor peningkatan 0,37 yang berada pada kategori sedang.

Abstract

Abstract: One of the problems in schools is the lack of attention from the teacher to the students' writings. This study aims to determine the ability to use capital letters in the essay description fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Pekanbaru. This research is qualitative descriptive. The sampling technique in this research is total sampling. The data collection techniques using the test write (compose) the direct method. Data analysis techniques to analyze the capitalization of 56 fabricated descriptions of students. The use of capital letters consists of 15 aspects, but researchers only use six aspects, such as capital letters used as the first letter of a sentence initial 63.80% (category enough), a capital letter is used as the name of the 62.08% (category enough), capital letters used the first letter of the name of 44.93% (poor category), capital letters used the first letters themselves geography 28.80% (very poor category), capital letters used the first letters the title essay of 75% (both categories ), and capital letters are used the first letters of the title of 43.19% (poor category). From the data analysis it can be concluded that the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Pekanbaru have not been able to use capital letters in accordance with Enhanced Spelling. The average of result shown 52,98% (poor category). The highest percentage in the aspect of capitalization that is used the first letters of the title essay 75% (both categories) and the lowest percentage of aspects of the use of capital letters is used the first letters themselves geography 28.80% (very poor category).Key Words: Capitalization Capital, Narrative Description

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dari pentingnya pembelajaran matematika untuk melatih berpikir matematis terhadap perkembangan psikososial berbasis Taksonomi Bloom bagi siswa sekolah dasar. Hal ini terlihat dari asumsi guru di lapangan, yakni bahwa siswa dikatakan telah mengusai materi yang diberikan bila telah memperoleh nilai yang baik dari suatu tes. Ditambah dari beberapa survei Internasional seperti WEF, TIMSS, dan PISA yang menyebutkan bahwa capaian pembelajaran matematika anak-anak Indonesia masih jauh dari kata yang menggembirakan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan dengan memilah-milah sumber referensi yang terkait untuk dapat dikaji dan dianalisis secara komprehensif. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah guru harus memperhatikan tingkatan Taksonomi Bloom yang tepat, termasuk dalam membuat dan menyusun soal yang berguna untuk melatih berpikir matematis dalam kehidupan sehari-hari yang juga harus ditunjang dari lingkungan sosial siswa agar dapat mencapai tujuan pembelajaran pembelajaran matematika sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Abstract: This study is conducted based on the investigation of instruction which is inappropriate with mathematics instructions according to KTSP and UNESCO. It is found that teachers consider mathematics learning activity as routines. Focus of this study is mainly about the analysis of mathematic habits of mind skills of 5th grade children in an Islamic School in Bandung. A qualitative grounded theory approach is used by doing some interactions with participants in the field and developing a theory inductively. The subject of this including 19 boys and 9 girls. The data is examined by conducting credibility test that consists of the using of reference material and triangulation. The result of this study prove that children who have high skills of acquisition according to the instructions given by the teacher, are able to appear the indicator of mathematics habits of mind skills children. Keywords: mathematics habits of mind, 5th grade children Abstrak: Artikel ini dilatar belakangi dari tinjauan terhadap realitas di lapangan yang tidak sesuai dengan tujuan serta pedoman pembelajaran matematika menurut KTSP dan UNESCO. Hal ini ditandai dengan kenyataan bahwa para guru di lapangan banyak yang menganggap kegiatan pembelajaran matematika hanya merupakan rutinitas saja. Fokus penelitian ini adalah analisis terhadap kemampuan habits of mind matematis siswa kelas V di salah satu SD Islam di bagian Utara kota Bandung. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain penelitian grounded theory yaitu teori dikembangkan secara induktif selama interaksi berlangsung dan melalui interaksi yang terus menerus dengan data di lapangan. Subyek penelitian ini terdiri dari 19 orang siswa laki-laki dan 9 orang siswa perempuan. Pemeriksaan keabsahan data dilakukan melalui uji kredibilitas yang meliputi: penggunaan bahan referensi dan triangulasi. Hasil analisis terhadap seluruh data penelitian membuktikan bahwa siswa yang mempunyai kemampuan tinggi dengan tahapan kegiatan pembelajaran yang diberikan guru dapat memunculkan indikator kemampuan habits of mind matematis siswa yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini. Kata Kunci: habits of mind matematis, siswa kelas V sekolah dasar

Abstract

Abstract : The background of this research is that most of students do not know their own learning style yet. This reasearch aims to describe visual, auditory, kinesthetic learning style (VAK) and the tendency of fifth grade. The subject of this research is fifth grade. The grounded qualitative of theory approach was used to develop the theory inductively. The data was collected by deep interview role observation and document study. The data was analyzed by using Miles and Huberman analysis technique by gathering, reducing, applying, and drawing conclusion. The study result shows that fifth grade learning style is the combination of VAK learning style. The composition and learning style trend of students are different. From 9 studetns who became the subject research, there are 6 students tended more on kinesthetic, 2 students more on auditory learning style, and 1 student tending more on visual learning style.Key Words : learning style, elementary students

Abstract

Abstract: The problem of this research is students in learning which will affect the study result. The purpose of the research was correlation between students motivation with student learning results in mathematics of IV grade SDN cluster IV in Limapuluh district Pekanbaru city. This research method was correlational. The technique sampling of using probability sampling is cluster sampling. The collection data of using questionare method and techique documentation of the value MID second semester of academic year 2015/2016. The technique analysis use is the technique of product moment. Test analysis prerequisite in the from of normality test and linearity test. The technique analysis and prerequisite test analysis of using program SPSS 20. The research result showed that there is a positive correlation between learning motivation with learning mathematics result of IV grade students of SDN cluster IV in Limapuluh district Pekanbaru city, obtained of rxy 0,303 with a low level of correlation as well the motivation to learn contributes learning result of 9,2 %. The result of hypothesis testing of using correlation test, there significant correlation between learning motivation with learning mathematics result of IV grade students of SDN cluster IV in Limapuluh district Pekanbaru city, obtained r hitung (0,303) > r tabel (0,233) and significant value of 0,010 which shall mean less 0,05 (0,010 < 0,05). Base on these result, the hypothesis in this research ho rejected and ha accepted means there is a positive and significant correlation between learning motivation with learning mathematics result of IV grade student of SDN cluster IV in Limapuluh district Pekanbaru city 2015/2016 school year are accepted of proven.Keyword: The Learning Motivation, Learning Mathematic Result

Abstract

Abstract: The problem this research is the students achievement of social fourth graderes studies still low with an average value of 65,31 and minimum completeness criteria (KKM) social studies is 75. Between students, amounting to 32 people only 13 students who achieve classical KKM with 40,62%. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which aims to improve the student achievement of social studies class IV at SD Negeri 77 Pekanbaru with implementation cooperative learning model type jigsaw. Formulation of the problem : Is the implementation of cooperative learning model type jigsaw can improve students achievement of social studies class IV at SD Negeri 77 Pekanbaru? The research was conducted on August 15 to September 26, 2015 by 3 cycles. Subjects were students of SD Negeri 77 Pekanbaru, totaling 32 people who use the data source. The data collection instruments in this thesis is a teacher and students activities sheets and students achievement. This thesis presents the results obtained each day before the action an improve in base score cycle with the average being 65,31. In the first cycle improve an average of 67,81 with increase big as 3,82% and an improve in the second cycle with an average of 76,40 with increase big as 16,98%. and an improve in the third cycle with an average of 83,12 with increase big as 27,26%. Activities of the teacher in the learning process in cycle I first meeting improve to 54,16% and the second meeting improve to 62,5%. Cycle II first meeting improve to 70,83 and the second meeting improve to 79,17%. Cycle III first meeting improve to 87,5 and the second meeting improve 91,66%. Results of data analysis of students activities in the first cycle with the first meeting of an average of 50% and a second meeting improve to 62,5%. Second cycle first meeting improve to 70,83% and the second meeting improve to 79,16%. Third cycle III at the first meeting of 87,5, and the second meeting improve to 91,66%. Results in the class IV at SD Negeri 77 Pekanbaru that the implementation of cooperative learning model of Jigsaw can improve the student achievement of social studiesat fourth graderes SD Negeri 77 Pekanbaru.Key Words: Mode cooperative Jigsaw, the result of studying social sciences
