Abstract

Timely student graduation is a key indicator of higher education quality and institutional effectiveness. This study aims to optimize student graduation prediction using a Decision Tree algorithm based on Classification and Regression Tree (CART) by integrating academic and non-academic variables. The dataset used in this study is the open-source Student Graduation Dataset obtained from Kaggle, consisting of 379 student records with graduation status as the target variable. The research stages include data preprocessing through mean imputation for missing values, categorical variable transformation, data splitting with an 80:20 ratio, and model optimization using CART hyperparameter tuning as a form of post-pruning. Model performance was evaluated using accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and a confusion matrix. The experimental results show that the optimized CART model achieved an accuracy of 92.1%, with F1-scores above 0.90 for both graduation classes and a balanced trade-off between precision and recall. Furthermore, the resulting decision tree structure is relatively simple and highly interpretable. These findings indicate that the optimized CART algorithm is effective and suitable for implementation as an early warning system to support academic decision-making in higher education institutions.

Abstract

Abstract SMK AL-AMANAH is a private vocational high school officially established in the academic year 1996/1997 under the Al Amanah Al Bantani Islamic Boarding School and Education Foundation. Currently, the extracurricular selection process at SMK AL-AMANAH is still carried out manually and does not yet utilize a system that considers students' interests and potential comprehensively. As a result, some students choose extracurricular activities based on peer influence or without considering their personal abilities, which may reduce participation and effectiveness of the activities. This research aims to develop a web-based decision support system to assist students in selecting the most suitable extracurricular activities according to their interests and potential. The system is designed based on criteria determined by the school, such as interest, talent, time availability, and academic performance. The methods used for decision-making are Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), both of which are capable of solving multi-criteria decision-making problems objectively. A case study was conducted at SMK AL-AMANAH with system testing using simulated student data. The results of this study indicate that the system can effectively provide extracurricular recommendations and support students in making informed decisions. Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi yang kian pesat memaksa institusi pendidikan, termasuk sekolah untuk beradaptasi dalam penyebaran informasi dan promosi melalui media digital. Hasil observasi di SMK Bina Insani Cisauk menunjukkan bahwa OSIS kurang memiliki alat efektif untuk menyampaikan berita, mencatat acara, dan memperkenalkan sekolah kepada khalayak luas, sehingga transparansi dan jangkauan publikasi terbatas. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini dilaksanakan untuk merancang serta membangun website OSIS sambil memberikan edukasi tentang pentingnya pemanfaatan situs web sebagai kanal informasi dan promosi sekolah. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan website berhasil diwujudkan dengan fitur seperti halaman berita, galeri kegiatan, ekstrakurikuler yang mana mendapat respons positif dari siswa dan guru sehingga dapat digunakan untuk mempublikasikan kegiatan sekolah, meningkatkan transparansi, dan memperluas jangkauan promosi, serta siswa juga dapat meningkatkan pemahaman teknologi informasi.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi komunikasi yang semakin pesat menuntut penyedia layanan internet (Internet Service Provider/ISP) untuk menyediakan jaringan yang andal dengan kualitas layanan (Quality of Service/QoS) yang terjamin. PT Trans Hybrid Communication saat ini menerapkan protokol routing Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) dengan model layanan best-effort, yang memiliki keterbatasan dalam mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan bandwidth serta menjamin kestabilan QoS. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kinerja jaringan Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) menggunakan metode Integrated Service (IntServ) melalui simulasi jaringan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan meliputi studi literatur, wawancara, serta simulasi jaringan menggunakan GNS3. Evaluasi kinerja jaringan dilakukan berdasarkan parameter QoS, yaitu bandwidth, packet loss, dan jitter. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa penerapan MPLS dengan metode IntServ mampu meningkatkan efisiensi bandwidth serta menghasilkan kualitas layanan yang lebih stabil dibandingkan dengan metode best-effort. Secara keseluruhan, kinerja jaringan yang dihasilkan berada pada kategori sangat baik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa MPLS dengan IntServ dapat menjadi solusi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan performa jaringan pada lingkungan ISP.

Abstract

Diseases in primary health services exhibit complex spatial-temporal dynamics due to urbanization and population mobility. Conventional surveillance approaches are difficult to capture these patterns adaptively. Machine learning (ML) based on spatio-temporal modeling offers a solution with the ability to detect disease clusters automatically and with high precision. Research Objectives: This research aims to develop a machine learning model to detect disease hotspots from primary service data in Indonesia, with a focus on improving prediction accuracy, interpretability, and relevance of health policies. Methodology: The primary service dataset for 2024 (5,343 entries) was analyzed using three ML models Gradient Boosting Machine (GBM), Temporal Random Forest (TRF), and Multi-EigenSpot with spatial (village) and temporal (week, month) features. Performance evaluation includes predictive (AUC, F1-score) and spatial (Moran's I, Spatio-Temporal Correlation Index) metrics. Results: The results showed that Multi-EigenSpot achieved the best performance (AUC=0.91; F1=0.86), with the detection of dominant hotspots in Sungai Asam and Beringin Villages. Moran's I value of 0.63 indicates a strong spatial autocorrelation, while STCI=0.57 indicates moderate temporal stability. Conclusions: ML-based spatio-temporal models are effective in identifying hidden disease patterns and have the potential to be integrated into national digital surveillance systems. This approach supports precision public health by providing a scientific basis for real-time location- and time-based intervention policies.
