This study tries to explain the intersection of Belt Road Initiative (BRI) by China with Global Maritime Fulcrum (GMF) of Indonesia by using qualitative methods and collected data from library research. To deepen the understanding of how both states implemented their foreign policy, media analysis and national interest concept are used. The result indicates that Indonesia needs to respond to the foreign policy of China carefully. Moreover, the COVID-19 outbreak has altered the development of events on how the two missions from each country collide. Although every decision Indonesia has made regarding China’s BRI policy will not harm Indonesia’s national interest in the future, Indonesia will still have to tread carefully and imply wise decisions in its foreign policy, especially during the recovery period of COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

During the decade following the Arab Spring and the Yemeni Revolution, significant changes and dynamics occurred in Yemen, particularly in the realms of politics and security. The current situation can be categorized as "stable" due to the absence of escalating conflicts between the parties involved. However, the cessation of hostilities between the Houthi rebels and the Yemeni government, supported by a coalition of Arab countries, has the potential to create new challenges. Additionally, the ongoing humanitarian crisis resulting from the Yemeni conflict continues to require international attention. Despite considerable attention given to the current state of Yemen, there is a lack of scholarly research utilizing scientific literature to examine the condition of Yemen a decade after the revolution. Consequently, this article aims to review the Yemeni Revolution after ten years, using relevant publications from 2012 to 2022 obtained through Google Scholar and the Publish or Perish application. The data will be visualized using the Vosviewer application as a basis for analysis. The findings of this research reveal the complex conditions underlying the ten-year conflict that emerged in the aftermath of the Yemeni Revolution, characterized by multifaceted conflicts interrelated with various factors that have prolonged the crisis.

Abstract

Femen is an international women's movement with bare-chested acts and body paintings with slogans and flowers as symbols of protest. The history of this movement began in 2008 which was carried out in Ukraine. As a movement group, Femen has a vision to oppose patriarchal values and culture, especially those that develop in Europe. This article will analyze the policy of several countries as responses to the Femen movement based on the perspective of 4 waves of feminism and the concept of checks and balances. While the method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with literature study techniques to obtain data. The results of the study show that most of the parties involved, including countries in the European Union, do not provide policies or special treatment for the Femen movement, but will take firm action in accordance with applicable law if the actions of Femen members have exceeded the limit. In this case, this firm attitude towards Femen is applied when the protest action that is carried out causes anxiety and disrupts the course of an agenda within the European Union. Femen often targets public places, one of which is a place of worship, to give a shocking effect that can attract the world's attention. This method is a way to get the world's attention to them, so that they can voice their opinions more freely in the hope that the international community can empathize with their aspirations. Femen's actions that are bare-chested in carrying out their actions often cause uproar in society. Instead of getting public empathy, their actions actually have an impact on the negative stigma attached to them.

The Boyolali Government has initiated several electronic-based service innovations, including the iBoyolali digital library service. This study aims to identify the factors influencing user acceptance of the iBoyolali application. This study employs the Unified Model of Electronic Government Adoption (UMEGA) framework and utilizes convenience sampling, collecting data through online questionnaires from 103 iBoyolali users. The data analysis used Partial Least Square - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that the digital library services in Boyolali Regency incorporate and practice the variables outlined in the UMEGA framework. Further analysis indicates that public acceptance of the iBoyolali service is generally positive. Specifically, the study identifies four UMEGA variables—performance expectation, effort expectation, social influence, and attitudes. Conversely, facilitating conditions and perceived risk did not significantly impact the acceptance of the iBoyolali service. Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has left behind a wide range of effects. As a potential future learning paradigm, one of them is the hybrid learning model. In terms of appearance during lectures, whether directly or indirectly through the use of post-COVID-19 pandemic media, this study attempts to characterize the communication ethics of generation Z students at Sebelas Maret University Vocational School in Surakarta. The quantitative descriptive method is thought to be the most appropriate approach to use in addressing the study objectives. Secondary data is derived from internal data in the education sector, publications, books, and other documentation, while primary data is collected online using semi-open questions in addition to observation. It is possible to conclude that there is a lack of good student communication ethics when it comes to appearance during online learning because not all students have turned on their cameras, not all of them are dressed collared, and not all of them follow the dress code that has been established in accordance with previous agreements in a number of courses.

Abstract

Iran has been in disarray following the United States exit from the JCPOA in 2018. It is due to the increasing number of sanctions reimposed by the West, which harms the Iranian economy. With the current economic downturn, Iran, under President Ebrahim Raisi's leadership, has made efforts to become completely independent from the West by establishing the Look East Policy as its foreign policy. This research analyses why Ebrahim Raisi's administration favoured the Look East Policy as Iranian foreign policy. Data collection techniques used in this study are library research, using secondary data from books, journal articles, official websites, and news articles. Data analysis uses qualitative techniques based on the Foreign Policy Analysis Theory by Richard Snyder. The research findings indicate that the Look East Policy under the Raisi administration reduced Western influence in Iran's domestic economic development and diversified Iran's existing international relations with the Eastern hemisphere with a strengthening intention.

Abstract

The “Made in China” 2025 Initiative and Dual Circular Economy emerged as strategies to propel China towards becoming a global leader in advanced technologies. It also aims to reduce dependence on foreign technology products, particularly from the United States, since the increased geopolitical tensions and trade disputes arose between the two countries. Meanwhile, the Dual Circulation Economy can be perceived as an economic strategy emphasizing domestic and international circulation of goods, services, and technologies. This strategy prioritizes bolstering domestic innovation, production, and consumption while maintaining selective engagement with the global market. Previous research discussed the topic of Made in China 2025 and Dual Circulation separately. Meanwhile, the study shows close synergy between those strategies in achieving the same goal. This research used a qualitative descriptive method with data collection technique through library research on various sources such as books, journal articles, news, etc. The research used the hegemonic stability theory for analysis. The result reveals that the Dual Circulation Economy provides a framework for nurturing domestic innovation and production capabilities. At the same time, the Made in China 2025 initiative offers a roadmap for advancing industries critical to China's technological independence. This article examines the synergies between these policies and assesses their effectiveness in reducing China's dependence on US technology. It also discusses the implications and the shift in economic strategy to global trade dynamics and geopolitical relations.
