Abstract

Cowpea is a type of legume that contains a lot of protein. One of the uses of cowpea as a food ingredient is protein isolate. The purpose of this study was to determine the type and concentration of chemicals suitable for cowpea protein isolate as well as its physical and chemical properties. Implementation of modified cowpea protein isolate was divided into three stages. The first stage is to determine the best results from the addition of certain types and concentrations of chemicals: a) CH3COOH (3%, 5%, 7%); b) CaSO4 (0.25%; 0.30%; 0.35%) and c) MgSO4 (0.25%; 0.30%; 0.35%). The second stage is to combine each of the best treatments. There are three treatments, namely treatment A is the addition of the best CH3COOH concentration with the best CaSO4 concentration. Treatment B is the best concentration of CH3COOH and the best concentration of MgSO4. Treatment C was the best concentration of CaSO4 and the best concentration of MgSO4. The third stage is the analysis of the physical and chemical properties of the treatment combinations formed. Each treatment was replicated three times. The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively. The results of the analysis are presented in the form of tables and histograms. The best treatment of chemically modified cowpea protein isolate was in treatment C (addition of 0.35% CaSO4 and 0.35% MgSO4), which had a gel strength texture of 13.87 gram force/0.1mm; with a water content of 81.04%; ash 6.77%; and protein 92.53%; and has the highest protein solubility at pH 8 of 22.47 mg/g.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan melatih para pemuda di Sanggar Tani Muda desa Sumberbanjar Kecamatan Bluluk Kabupaten Lamongan untuk memanfaatkan botol bekas sebagai media hidroponik sederhana dan melatih pembuatan produk olahan nugget yang terbuat dari bahan dasar sawi hasil budidaya hidroponik. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan dan kreativitas para pemuda desa Sumberbanjar dalam bidang pertanian dan kewirausahaan. Kegiatan ini terdiri dari praktek pembuatan hidroponik sederhana menggunakan botol bekas; pendampingan penyemaian benih sawi; pendampingan penanaman sawi; pelatihan pengolahan hasil sayuran (nuget sawi); dan launching sanggar tani muda desa Sumberbanjar. Skor kepuasan dan manfaat bagi para peserta dalam mengikuti pelatihan ini mencapai 9,2 (skala 1-10). Kegiatan ini menjadikan peserta ingin berwirausaha di bidang hidroponik sebesar 67% dan peserta yang ingin berwirausaha bidang wirausaha produk olahan sayuran sebesar 81%. Hasil pelatihan hidroponik sederhana dan pelatihan pembuatan nugget sawi sangat memuaskan bagi peserta. Pihak Pemerintah Desa Sumberbanjar bersedia memfasilitasi keberlanjutan program ini bagi para anggota sanggar tani muda untuk menjadi pengusaha di bidang hidroponik.

Abstract

Organic waste, such as goat manure and water hyacinth, is abundant and poses environmental challenges if not properly managed. These materials hold potential as raw ingredients for producing organic fertilizer, which can contribute to local economic development. This community service program aims to enhance farmers' skills in converting organic waste into soil-enriching organic fertilizer. The program targeted farmer groups in Centini Village, Laren District, Lamongan Regency. The program's effectiveness was rated high, achieving success in key indicators, including participant attendance, material comprehension, and skill development in waste management into organic fertilizer. Participants also demonstrated an understanding of how to apply organic fertilizer to rice fields and expressed a willingness to independently produce organic fertilizer.

Abstract

Petiyintunggal Village, located on the western border of Gresik Regency, is predominantly inhabited by farmers and livestock breeders. Cattle raising is a common side activity among the residents. The livestock farming in Petiyintunggal Village is managed traditionally, focusing primarily on the sale of fattened livestock for daily needs, without addressing the environmental impact of accumulated cow dung. To address these issues, the UNISDA 2024 Thematic Real Work Lecture team conducted counseling and training on processing cow dung into beneficial products, specifically liquid organic fertilizer. This training was held in Petiyintunggal Village, Dukun District, Gresik Regency, coordinated with local farmer groups and youth organizations (Karang Taruna). The primary objective was to enhance the community's capacity to produce liquid organic fertilizer as an alternative to chemical fertilizers, utilizing cow dung waste for sustainable farming practices. The training outcomes demonstrated a significant increase in participants' knowledge and skills, approximately 80%, in processing cow dung into liquid organic fertilizer, along with positive feedback and high enthusiasm from the participants.

Abstract

Waste problems are a problem experienced by various regions, including Kelorarum Village, Tikung District, Lamongan Regency, especially agricultural waste which is still often not utilized properly. In addition, the agricultural sector in Kelorarum Village still relies on chemical fertilizers which will have an impact on reducing environmental sustainability. The purpose of this community service program is to reduce agricultural waste by processing it into organic fertilizer through training which will have an impact on increasing the knowledge and skills of partners in processing agricultural waste into organic fertilizer through the composting method with a composter. This community service program was carried out from June to August 2024 in Kelorarum Village, Tikung District, Lamongan Regency which was attended by the local village Farmer Group. This activity was carried out in several stages, namely observation, socialization, fertilizer making training and evaluation. The results of this activity showed a positive response from the training participants as seen from the enthusiasm in participating in this activity, in addition, the training participants (partners) experienced increased knowledge and skills in processing agricultural waste into organic fertilizer. This is evidenced by the success of the partners in making organic fertilizer. Through this activity, it can reduce agricultural waste around the partner's environment and can produce organic fertilizer products that can be used by partners to meet fertilizer needs on their agricultural land and reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and can increase partner income.

Abstract

Shallot is a common horticultural crop, providing a number of benefits. Effect of organic manure and liquid organic fertilizer and their interaction on growth and yield of shallot was studied. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness increase organic shallot yield with dose fertilizer vermicompost and biourine plus. A two factor experiment with three replications, arranged in factorial randomized block design, was carried out. First factor was dose of vermicompost i.e without vermicompost, vermicompost 10 t/ha, vermicompost 15 t/ha. Second factor was dose of biourine Plus i.e without biourine plus, biourine plus 1500 l/ha, biourine plus 2000 l/ha. Observed variables were height plants, numbers of leaves, number of tubers, fresh weight of tuber, and dry tuber weight. Data were analysed by F test followed by LSD at 5%. It was concluded that the vermicompost and biourine plus dose treatment produced a significant impact on plant height and number of shallot leaves but had no effect on shallot yields. Vermicompost 15 t/ha is able to increase the harvest weight of shallots (fresh weight) by 14% and increase the dry weight of tubers by 17.45%.

Abstract

The need for food is currently increasing so that to meet food needs, agricultural land, both dry land and paddy fields, is needed. Rice fields in Southeast Sulawesi are quite extensive, but rice productivity is still low. The use of inorganic fertilizers continuously for a long time, results in damage to the physical properties of the soil. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of the application of complete liquid organic fertilizer packages and inorganic fertilizers on the growth and yield of paddy rice. The study used a randomized block design (RAK) with 5 fertilization treatments and 3 replications. The results showed that inorganic fertilization with a dose of 50% Local fertilizer recommendation + POCL fertilizer package had a significant effect on the number of tillers, number of productive tillers, empty grain and filled grain and yielded 6.52 tons/ha GKG. Farming analysis on the treatment of reducing inorganic fertilizers by 50% from the local fertilizer recommendation and added to the POCL fertilizer package gave a greater profit of Rp.17,870,905.

Abstract

Red spinach is one of the vegetable horticultural crops used for its leaves. Red spinach cultivation generally uses chemical fertilizers and pesticides because the impact is felt more quickly, but the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides causes a decrease in productivity. One of the efforts to improve the quality and productivity of red spinach plants can be done by adding organic materials, such as substitutes for chemical fertilizers and pesticides, namely animal manure fertilizers and vegetable pesticides. The purpose of the study was to determine the response of giving types of organic fertilizers and vegetable pesticides to the production of red spinach plants. A Factorial Randomized Group Design (RAK) method, which is divided into three levels and has two factors, was used in this study. Types of animal manure fertilizer and plant-based pesticides were the first and second factors. Types of animal manure fertilizers used: cow manure, vermicompost fertilizer and guano fertilizer. Vegetable pesticides used: biomoxa, neem oil extract and MS. Fisher's variance (F test at 5% level) was used to analyze the observation data. If significant differences were found, then the Least Significant Difference Test (BNT 5%) was continued. The best results in this study were obtained in the treatment of cow manure and vegetable pesticide Neem oil extract.

Abstract

Oyster mushrooms are one of the types of consumption mushrooms that are in great demand by the public. The demand for mushrooms continues to increase from year to year both from within and outside the country. Currently, oyster mushroom production needs to be increased due to increasing market demand. One way to increase the production of white oyster mushrooms is by giving growth regulators (ZPT) and agricultural lime with the right application time and concentration. This study aims to determine the effect of giving some ZPT and agricultural lime to increase mycelium growth and production of white oyster mushrooms. The research method used was a complete factorial randomized design, consisting of two factors, each factor consisting of 4 levels, and 3 levels. The type of ZPT is the first factor consisting of No ZPT, ZPT Atonik, ZPT Rootmost, and ZPT Dekamon. While the dose of agricultural lime is the second factor consisting of 1% lime (10gr/baglog), 2% lime (20gr/baglog), and 3% lime (30gr/baglog). Parameters observed included pinhead formation time, number of fruits per sample, fruit hood diameter and fruit weight per sample. The observation results were calculated by analyzing variance (F test) at 5% level. If there was a significant difference between treatments, BNT test was conducted at 5% level. The addition of ZPT Atonik and 1% Lime gave the best results from other treatments.

Abstract

Land kale plants are one of the vegetables that are in great demand by almost all people. Short-lived plants have the ability to respond quickly when given growth activators. In Indonesia, kale has a very potential market and prices tend to be stable. Although the consumption of kale is quite high, the amount of production produced has not been able to fulfil the demand, so an increase in kale productivity is needed. Steps that can be taken are to focus on improving the planting process, such as the application of PGPR. The study aimed to explore the effect of various doses of PGPR Multi Microorganisms on the growth and production of Organic Land Kale Plants. For this analysis, a one-factor Randomised Group Design method was used, consisting of six levels of PGPR dosage, with four repetitions including: no PGPR; 6 l/ ha; 8 l/ ha; 10 l/ ha; 12 l/ ha; 14 l/ ha. Wet weight per hectare, wet weight per plot, number of leaves, and plant height were the parameters observed. The results of the observations were tested with Fisher's 5% level, if there was a significant difference, the 5% BNT test was continued. The results showed that the dose of 8 l/ha gave the best results among other PGPR doses on the production of ground kale.
