Abstract

The waste problem in Indonesia is a problem that has not been resolved to date; this hurts the surrounding environment, one of which is 23.3 million tonnes annually produced from 202 districts or cities, of which only 15 are appropriately managed. 6 million tons annually. Therefore, it is necessary to process plastic waste to minimize the accumulation of plastic waste and its impact on the environment (Amanullah. G, 2023). Olah Plastic is one of the MSMEs located in Bandung that processes plastic waste into products. However, Olah Plastic has a problem in the form of remaining unprocessed production waste, so product innovation is needed that can minimize production waste and activities that can increase public knowledge about processing. plastic waste. The results of this research are block printing plates made from the remaining waste from Olah Plastic production, where the printing plates will be used as media in workshops to increase public awareness regarding the negative impact of plastic waste on the environment, which still has selling value

Abstract

This study aims to design the user interface and user experience (UI/UX) of a web-based ticket booking system for Bird Park Palembang. Currently, the ticket purchasing process is still conducted manually at the ticket counter, which results in long queues, limited access to information, and inefficient services, particularly during weekends and public holidays. In addition, Bird Park does not yet have an official website that provides centralized information regarding ticket prices and operating hours. This research employs a qualitative approach using the Design Thinking method, which consists of five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Data were collected through direct interviews with Bird Park employees and visitors, field observations of the ticket purchasing process, and documentation of the promotional media used. The empathize stage was carried out to identify user problems and needs, which were then formulated in the define stage. Design solutions were developed during the ideate stage and implemented in the form of a UI/UX website prototype. Furthermore, the test stage involved users to evaluate ease of use, clarity of information, and interface comfort. The results indicate that the proposed UI/UX design is able to improve the efficiency of the ticket booking process and provide a better user experience compared to the manual system. Therefore, the application of the Design Thinking method is effective in producing a UI/UX design that meets user needs and supports improvements in service quality at Bird Park Palembang.

Abstract

Fast fashion has raised sustainable issues in the clothing cycle from the production stage to the stage after the clothes are worn and end up generating waste. Therefore, it is necessary to adopt a sustainable approach to overcome practices that damage the ecology. This research uses qualitative methods by means of observation, literature studies, questionnaires, interviews, and the design process using Gustami theory (observation, design, manufacturing process). This research will involve several communities and their contributions to fast fashion and sustainable fashion in Indonesia to find out how much they understand about fast fashion as well as the concept of sustainable that can minimize the negative impact of fast fashion. The results of the survey above discussed public awareness and behavior towards fast fashion, as many as 62.7% of respondents knew the impact of the dangers of the fashion, while there were 29.4% of respondents who did not know the issue of fashion. However, the circumstances and conditions that result in the lack of sensitivity of the community to the environment resulted in a lack of knowledge and doubt about the issue. The data of the respondents who do not know and doubt, the need for an equitable education about this issue and the impact on the environment through media event workshops as information channels.

Abstract

Abstract: Color is one of the most immediately perceived visual elements in graphic design, yet its application in educational infographics for early childhood is often treated intuitively rather than systematically. This study focuses on how color is applied in an educational infographic designed for early childhood, using a plastic waste management campaign infographic at Bunda Ganesa Kindergarten Bandung as the case study. Using a qualitative approach grounded in color theory and color psychology, this study analyzes how hue, contrast, and color schemes are applied across an infographic's visual hierarchy, typography, iconography, and background, and how these applications influence children's attention, comprehension, and retention. Data were examined through descriptive analysis and a color-comparison matrix applied to the infographic's elements. The findings indicate that warm, high-contrast colors applied consistently across visual hierarchy and a semantically consistent color-coding system for icons improve legibility and support faster recognition among children aged 4-6 years. This study contributes a practical framework for applying color in visual communication design for early-childhood educational infographics in general, beyond the specific campaign context used as its case study. Keywords: Color, Infographic, Early Childhood, Education, Plastic Waste.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the local footwear industry in Indonesia faces challenges from dynamic contemporary cultural trends and the widespread phenomenon of copycat design strategies. This study aims to analyze how the influence of popular culture and the adoption of designs similar to global brands impact the business sustainability of local labels. Using a qualitative method with a case study approach, this research explores consumer perceptions and manufacturer strategies. The results indicate that while contemporary culture enhances market relevance, reliance on copycat strategies creates legal risks and long-term brand identity degradation. These findings conclude that the sustainability of local footwear brands heavily depends on transitioning from imitation to original innovation based on unique local cultural values.

Abstract

Bersinar Waste Bank is a community based waste management facility that encourages waste segregation to be processed into products with economic value. In practice, the waste deposited by residents has already been sorted by type before the weighing process. However, after being weighed, the waste is placed directly in the yard of the Bersinar Waste Bank without further grouping before being transferred to the storage warehouse. This condition leads to waste accumulation in the drop point area, creating a cluttered appearance and reducing visual quality as well as environmental comfort. This study aims to design a set of segregated waste bins to make the Bersinar Waste Bank drop point more organized and orderly. The method used is design thinking, consisting of the empathize stage to understand user needs and activities around the waste bank, define to formulate the main problems, ideate to generate alternative design solutions, prototype to develop the concept into a generate alternative design solutions, prototype to develop the concept into a model or mock-up, and test to validate the effectiveness of the design. The result of this study is a segregated waste bin product design that considers functional aspects, ease of post weighing waste grouping, ergonomics, and visual aesthetics. This design is expected to be applicable to other waste banks to maintain a more organized and visually comfortable drop point area, while supporting more systematic and sustainable waste management.
