So in conclusion there is a relationship between unsafe behavior and unsafe conditions with the occurrence of work accidents in hospitals. Dr. Tadjuddin Chalid Makassar. Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: Leadership plays a critical role in improving employee performance in hospital organizations, yet empirical evidence regarding its direct and indirect mechanisms remains inconsistent. This study examines how transformational leadership influences employee performance through knowledge sharing and teamwork creativity. Research Methodology: A quantitative explanatory survey was conducted among 123 hospital employees selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using path analysis to assess direct and indirect relationships among variables. Mediation effects were tested using the Sobel test at a 5% significance level. Results: Transformational leadership did not have a significant direct effect on employee performance (p > 0.05). However, it significantly influenced knowledge sharing and teamwork creativity (p < 0.001). Both mediating variables demonstrated strong positive effects on employee performance. Mediation analysis confirmed full mediation, indicating that leadership improves performance indirectly through enhanced knowledge exchange and creative teamwork. The model explained a substantial proportion of variance in employee performance. Conclusion: Leadership effectiveness in hospitals depends on fostering collaborative knowledge sharing and stimulating team creativity rather than relying solely on inspirational attributes. Strengthening knowledge management systems and fostering innovation-oriented teamwork are essential to improving organisational performance,

Abstract

Introduction: Schizophrenia is a chronic mental disorder often associated with aggressive and violent behavior, which can negatively impact patient safety and quality of care. Non-pharmacological interventions such as progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) are increasingly used to manage behavioral symptoms. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of PMR therapy in reducing violent behavior among schizophrenia patients. Research Methodology: This study employed a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach. The sample consisted of 29 schizophrenia patients with violent behavior selected using purposive sampling at a regional psychiatric hospital in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Data were collected using an observation checklist. Statistical analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test to compare pre- and post-intervention scores. Results: The mean score of violent behavior significantly decreased from 7.86 (SD = 2.386) at pretest to 3.14 (SD = 1.156) at posttest. Statistical analysis showed a significant difference between pre- and post-intervention (p = 0.000; p < 0.05). These findings indicate that PMR therapy effectively reduces violent behavior in schizophrenia patients. Conclusion: Progressive muscle relaxation is an effective, safe, and practical non-pharmacological intervention to reduce violent behavior in schizophrenia patients. It can be integrated into psychiatric nursing care to improve emotional regulation and patient outcomes.

The majority of repondents also disagreed and strongly disagreed when asked whether the comprehensive regular check-up is only for those who are already sick or only for those who are more than 40 years old.
