Abstract

Developments in the economic sector so far have had quite rapid consequences in the business world, this has resulted in differences in sales at the market level. The market itself is a meeting place for buyers and sellers to make buying and selling transactions of goods or services. Tulangan Market is a traditional market located in the District of Tulangan, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java Province. In the Reinforcement Market there are several types of sellers such as retail traders, wholesalers and kiosks which are scattered in almost all corners of the market. The Tulangan market is also not much different from markets in general which sell daily needs such as food ingredients in the form of fish, fruit, vegetables, eggs, meat, cloth, electronic goods, services, etc. Besides that, it also sells traditional cakes and other Indonesian food. Not all traders in the Reinforcement Market can carry out the buying and selling process freely, especially during erratic rainfall. This creates problems in the sales process factors for traders. After knowing this problem, the author wishes to help traders who do not have their own trading area so that they can run their business stably and smoothly. With the current rapid world of technology, the authors hope that traders can use web pages that are familiar to many people to alleviate their problems through the "Website-Based Market Information System Case Study of the Sidoarjo Tulangan Market".

Abstract

Purpose – Despite its potential advantages, poverty interferes with economic progress in developing countries, obstructing small and medium-sized businesses from obtaining external financial assistance via Islamic microfinance. This study explores the problems related to asymmetric information in the context of funding microbusinesses in Baitul Maal wa Tamwil (BMT), with the goal of improving our understanding of the risks associated with financing in Islamic microfinance institutions, namely BMTs.Methodology – This research utilized a qualitative approach and content analysis to study BMTs in Indonesia, involving academics, practitioners, and voluntary participants. The sample size was adequate for achieving data saturation.Finding – This study demonstrates that there might be asymmetric information during the execution of contracts, leading to deviant behavior by BMT management and partners. The study additionally identified the risk characteristics present in Islamic MFIs, emphasizing the necessity for implementing novel lending mechanisms, such as group lending and individual collateralized loans. Implication – This study underscores the importance of resolving the substantial administrative overheads associated with these institutions. It is advisable to utilize additional research methods such as interviews, observations, and documentation to augment the depth of the research and engage a varied array of individuals for a comprehensive collection of information.Originality – Studies of Islamic microfinance in Indonesia have examined its performance, obstacles, and experience. However, empirical data on agency problems such as moral hazard and asymmetric knowledge are lacking. For optimal BMT operating efficiency and Shariah compliance, it is essential to comprehend these challenges.

Abstract

This research explains the opportunities and challenges of using Information and Technology Communication (ICT) in the English Language Teaching (ELT) process. This research is library research. The analysis shows that educators (teachers/lecturers) have opportunities and challenges in adopting ICT in their classrooms. The development of ICT requires educators to adapt to the technology. The opportunities for using ICT in ELT are improving the quality of education, encouraging the development of new teaching methods, getting get unlimited ease of information easier, providing instant access to various learning resources, changing learning styles, making ELT activities more flexible, allowing teachers to use/create interesting learning media in teaching, having the potential to reduce the price of textbooks and education costs, increasing student learning interest and motivating students to learn. While, several challenges of using ICT in ELT are the emergence of various disturbances, growing lazy mindset, requiring expensive costs, limitations of social interaction between teacher and students, difficulty in understanding learning materials in digital form, having a dependence on technology, distracting students on ICT tools, and disconnect students from face-to-face relationships. Besides, other challenges are the teacher's self-confidence is lacking use of ICT, lack of teacher competence, teacher attitudes and inherent resistance against change, the teacher's level, and the institutional or school level, limitations in the field of access, limited time available to prepare ICT, limitations in self-potential development through training of using ICT. The infrastructure problem and limitations in technical support in terms of using ICT also influenced the challenges in ICT implementation.

Abstract

Abstract

Surround a big river estuary coastline has a dynamic characteristic and change along a period of time, because of anatural process and/or it is accelerated by human activities. The surround Sekampung river estuary coastline located in Rawa Sragi area is one of the most dynamic coastlines in southern Lampung Province that has changed significantly from 1959 (as a natural process) to year 1987 (as an accelerated process by human activities) since the government of Indonesia has applied swamp drainage system for Rawa Sragi area. It is likely that the coastline has changed significantly in the period of 1987 to 2009 (as an increasing intensity of the human activities in the surrounding Rawa Sragi land). The objective of this research was to analyze the coastline change in the surrounding of Sekampung river estuary in two periods of time: (1) the change of the 1959 – 1987 period coastlines; and (2) the change of the 1987 – 2009 period coastlines. The method of this research was a GIS technique, the implementation was divided into three main steps: (1) the first analysis was conducted in laboratory include raster data source analysis and registration, coastline digitations, and overlaying and analysis of the coastline data; (2) field observation (ground check) was conducted to observe and verify the ground existing coastline; and (3) the last analysis wasconducted after ground check activity to improve and to verify the first coastline analysis results. The result of this research indicated that coastline change in the period of 1959 to 1987 increased the coast land as much as 717.19 hectares, but decreased the coast land as much as 308.51 hectares. Furthermore the coastline change in the period of 1987 to 2009 increased the coast land as much as 162.504 hectares, but decreased the coast land as much as 492.734 hectares. The 1959 – 1987 coastline change was a coast land increasing period, but the 1987 – 2009 coastline change was a coast land decreasing period. Keywords: Abrasion, accretion, coast land, coastline, estuary
