Abstract

The increasing demand for fast, accurate, and efficient healthcare services has encouraged the development of integrated information systems. This study aims to design and develop a Health Service Information System (SILAKES) based on web and mobile platforms at the Oputa Yi Koo Heart and Blood Vessel Hospital (RSJPD) in Kendari. The system is developed to facilitate patients in accessing doctor schedules, taking queue numbers online, consulting services, checking blood stock availability, and filling out satisfaction surveys. The development process adopts the waterfall (linear sequential model) method, which consists of five stages (requirement definition, system and software design, implementation and unit testing, integration and system testing, operation and maintenance). The results of this study show that SILAKES improves the efficiency of hospital staff and provides convenience for patients to access health services without space and time constraints. The implementation of this system also contributes to the digitalization of hospital services and supports the enhancement of overall healthcare service quality

Abstract

Families of ICU patients typically go through anxiety and unpredictability due to the patient’s critical condition, which generates basic needs such as information, support, proximity, comfort, and assurance. When these needs are not optimally met, family satisfaction with hospital services may decrease. Structured information delivery is expected to help families better understand the situation and increase their satisfaction. This study aimed to analyze differences in service satisfaction scores before and after the provision of information related to fulfilling the basic needs of patients’ families. The study utilized a pre-experimental pretest-posttest design with a single group, including 30 family members of ICU patients selected through purposive sampling. The independent variable involved application of information on fulfilling families’ basic needs, and service satisfaction as the dependent variable. Data were obtained through an adapted service satisfaction questionnaire based on the five SERVQUAL dimensions, with analysis performed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test at a significance level of α = 0.05. Result showed higher satisfaction scores after the intervention, with a mean improvement of 2.17 points and a 13-point increase in the minimum score. The Wilcoxon test yielded p = 0.001, showing a significant variation in satisfaction scores between the pre- and post-information phases. In conclusion, structured information delivery is an effective strategy to enhance family satisfaction during the ICU waiting period, as clearer information helps families feel calmer, understand the patient’s condition, and develop a more positive perception of hospital services. These findings support the integration of structured information provision within family-centered nursing care, and hospitals are encouraged to implement routine information delivery, develop educational media, and strengthen communication to maintain family satisfaction.

Abstract

Purpose: The House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR-RI) is mandated to represent the people's voice through general elections. This role becomes meaningful when DPR ensures transparency by providing public access to information. However, its commitment to information disclosure is questionable, especially after limited public access to documents related to the KPK Law revision, Omnibus Law, and the Job Creation Bill. This study analyzes the implementation of public information disclosure policies within the DPR-RI. Methodology: This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. Primary and secondary data were obtained through in-depth interviews with key informants and literature studies related to the topic. Result: The research shows that the implementation of the Public Information Disclosure Law in the DPR-RI is not yet optimal. This is particularly seen in the underutilization of media channels and poor management of information sources. Conclusion: The ineffectiveness of public information disclosure implementation in DPR-RI stems from limited use of digital media, weak performance of the Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID), and lack of institutional commitment. These factors obstruct transparency and accountability in a democratic legislative institution. Limitation: This study is limited to evaluating the DPR-RI and does not include a comparative assessment with other government institutions or legislative bodies. Contribution: This research contributes to the theoretical and practical understanding of public information policy implementation in legislative institutions as part of communication policy studies.

Abstract

Maternal health is a priority in the public health system in Indonesia, but major challenges remain, especially in remote areas with limited access to health facilities. The maternal mortality rate (MMR) is still high, caused by delays in medical treatment, lack of understanding of pregnant women about the importance of examinations, and lack of supervision during pregnancy. Information technology (IT), especially mobile applications and wearable devices, can help improve maternal health monitoring. This article aims to address these issues by utilizing technology, especially Android applications such as Diary Bunda and Pregnancy +, to support independent maternal health monitoring. The methods used include counseling and training for pregnant women in Pagerwesi Village, Trucuk District, Bojonegoro Regency. The results of the implementation of the activities showed a significant increase in pregnant women's knowledge about the role of IT in health monitoring, as well as increased awareness of the importance of using applications to monitor pregnancy conditions. This program has made a major contribution to improving the quality of maternal health and accelerating early detection of pregnancy complications. For the sustainability of this program, a more inclusive approach and increased digital literacy among pregnant women, especially in remote areas, are needed so that the benefits of information technology can be felt evenly.

Abstract

Employee attrition management is a critical challenge for organizations as it involves costs, time, and the risk of decision-making errors. This problem requires a data-driven business strategy to achieve more accurate predictions of employees who are potentially at risk of termination. This study applies the Information Gain feature selection method and the Backpropagation Neural Network (BPNN) algorithm in the employee attrition classification process with the aim of increasing the accuracy and efficiency of the prediction model. BPNN is chosen due to its simpler architecture, faster training time, and greater stability for small to medium sized datasets.  With the assistance of Information Gain feature selection, BPNN is able to achieve optimal performance without requiring a complex architecture. The dataset used consist of 35 attributes and 1.470 employee records covering various factor such as age, income level, and employment status. The research stages include feature selection based on information gain values with specific thresholds, data partitioning using k-fold cross validation, and model training using BPNN with variations of learning rates and hidden neuron counts. The results show that the combination of Information Gain and BPNN improves classification accuracy compared to models without feature selection, achieving the highest average accuracy of 87.28% when using 25 selected attributes, with a BPNN configuration of learning rate 0.001, 35 hidden neurons, and 50 epochs. The attributes with the highest Information Gain score include JobLevel, OverTime, MaritalStatus, and MonthlyIncome. This study demonstrates that the proposed approach successfully enhances the prediction performance of employee attrition and can serve as a foundation for developing data-driven models that support employee retention efforts.
