Abstract

The prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) continues to increase and poses a significant public health challenge. The impacts include premature mortality and long-term disability. Effective monitoring and spatial analysis are needed to support timely and accurate interventions in managing NCD cases. This study aimed to design and develop a Geographic Information System (GIS) for mapping the distribution of non-communicable diseases using the Agile development method. This study employed the Agile method, which consists of six phases: requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and review. The research utilized a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative and qualitative data, with secondary data used as the primary data source. The findings indicated a consistent spatial pattern in which heart disease, stroke, and hypertension cases tended to cluster in subdistrict centers or densely populated villages. In contrast, diabetes mellitus cases were more widely distributed across the region, including both central and peripheral rural areas. Hypertension cases were frequently located near heart disease and stroke cases. Most clusters of non-communicable diseases were found around main roads and public service centers, suggesting that residential density and accessibility are associated with the distribution of cases. However, the spread of diabetes into rural areas indicates that non-communicable diseases are not only an urban issue but are increasingly expanding into rural communities. In conclusion, the developed GIS successfully identified spatial patterns of non-communicable disease distribution and can serve as a useful tool to support rapid and accurate public health interventions. Keywords: agile method; geographic information system; mapping; non-communicable diseases; system design

Abstract

This Community Service (Abdimas) program aims to enhance project management capabilities at PT Tritech Consult Indonesia through training and implementation of a Project Management Information System (PMIS) based on spreadsheets. As an engineering consulting company, PT Tritech Consult Indonesia manages various complex projects involving multiple resources and cross-functional coordination. However, project management has largely been conducted manually using conventional, non-integrated applications, resulting in limitations in data accuracy, information transparency, and the effectiveness of project monitoring and controlling processes. The solution offered in this program is training and mentoring on the implementation of a spreadsheet-based PMIS that is practical and easy to adopt. The PMIS is designed to support project scheduling, resource allocation, progress reporting, and structured, data-driven project monitoring. This approach is expected to improve operational efficiency, reduce the risk of project delays, and support faster and more accurate decision-making. The program was implemented through observation and interviews to identify partner needs, followed by the introduction of a PMIS dashboard and hands-on training for project management staff at PT Tritech Consult Indonesia. The training session was conducted on January 8, 2026, and received positive responses from participants. The program concluded with the formal handover of the PMIS dashboard as a commitment to the sustainability of system implementation. Overall, this community service activity had a positive impact on improving the effectiveness of the partner’s project management practices and has the potential to be replicated in similar consulting companies. This program is aligned with the Community Service Roadmap of the Enterprise and Industrial Management Systems (EIMS) Knowledge Group, particularly in the Digital Solution System focus area.

Abstract

Crime rates in rural areas have been increasing in recent years. This surge in criminal activity has fostered a climate of fear and insecurity among rural residents. Several factors contribute to this phenomenon. Many rural areas lack a sufficient number of security personnel, hindering effective deterrence and response to crime. Moreover, community members patrol (ronda), often struggles with ineffectiveness due to a lack of organization and resources. Furthermore, low awareness of basic security measures among rural residents leaves them vulnerable. Village information system also need to consider as one of the factors which might be influence the crime activities in villages. However, economic factors like poverty and unemployment can push individuals towards criminal activity. This study investigates the impact of increasing security personnel on crime rates and crime reporting in Indonesian villages using panel data from the PODES survey and SUSENAS from 2018-2022. The study employs a propensity score matching (PSM) model to examine the relationship between security personnel, crime rates, and crime reporting, considering other factors such as regulations, social assistance and socioeconomic factors. The study found that increasing security personnel has a significant negative impact on crime rates, indicating that a higher number of security personnel leads to a lower crime rate in villages. Additionally, enhancing village information system also has a significant positive impact on crime reporting which finally reduce crime. This research breaks new ground by comprehensively analyzing the interconnected nature of crime and its reporting within rural Indonesian communities. By demonstrating the effectiveness of increased security personnel and village information system will not only reducing crime rates but also encouraging reporting

Abstract

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) scores on firm value and examines the moderating role of the audit committee from an information systems audit perspective in Indonesian automotive companies. Using an explanatory quantitative approach, this research employs firm-year secondary data from automotive sector firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange over the 2021–2023 period. Firm value is measured using Tobin’s Q, ESG performance is proxied by composite ESG scores, and the audit committee is represented by its size as an internal governance mechanism. Data are analyzed using multiple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with SPSS 27. The findings reveal that ESG scores do not have a significant effect on firm value, indicating that capital market participants have not fully internalized ESG information as a primary determinant of valuation within the Indonesian automotive sector. In contrast, the audit committee demonstrates a positive and significant effect on firm value, highlighting the importance of effective internal monitoring mechanisms in enhancing market confidence. Furthermore, the interaction between ESG scores and the audit committee is negative and statistically insignificant, suggesting that the audit committee does not strengthen the ESG–firm value relationship but functions more as a screening mechanism that ensures the credibility and reliability of ESG information produced by corporate information systems. This study contributes to the ESG and corporate governance literature by integrating an information systems audit perspective, emphasizing that ESG effectiveness as a value-relevant signal depends on the quality of internal oversight and data integrity. Practically, the findings imply that strengthening audit committees and ESG-related information systems is crucial for improving ESG credibility in emerging capital markets.
