Abstract

This research aims to describe students' syntactic competence in arranging focus transformation sentence. The researchers employed a qualitative approach of single case study. The data obtained were acceptable sentences from spoken Indonesian language. Meanwhile, the data analysis applied an interactive model. The research result identifies that the Junior High School students, particularly the eighth-graders, has had syntactic competence in arranging focus transformation sentence by practicing the rules of intonation, movement, passive structure, and possessive pronoun.

Abstract

This paper explained the pattern of overcoming difficulties of foreign language learning, identifying based one previous study in learning English as a foreign language. Yet, it also shows general strategies that are useful to overcome the difficulties of acquiring a foreign language based on processability theory. Then, it examines that for learning a foreign language, as the learners need proper time and good management; however, the concept reveals need to focus that teacher’s role, learning methods, and strategies are advised. As the previous study shows of authentic material motivated leaners to improve their focus study in a foreign language as a subject.Keywords: process language learning, language Acquisition, language skill, proccessability theory.

Abstract

This article is written based on a case study of the Javanese Opera film. A film was produced at the end of 2006 as a requiem form of disasters that occurred in Indonesian territory. The data source is based on a cut of the film scene which is approached with the social practice model according to Bourdieu's theory. The result is a picture of a woman's loyalty as a wife who is loyal to her husband. Women are strong figures, although in practice they must accept their nature. This social practice based on Javanese culture is evident in the film media, which functions as a conveyor of information and as a means of cultural transformation.Keywords: Social practice, Bordieu, film, Javanese opera, women.

Abstract

Studies on the planning and policy of children's literature are still rarely found in scientific papers. This is because the process of forming a literary policy is a process that is not easy. After all, it is associated with various matters and layers of needs. On the other hand, literary planning and policy are usually included in the language education policy, not having its land. Today, children's literature has become a means of education and communication to children throughout the world. Children's literature is also an essential part of the delivery of language (mother, national, and foreign) and ideology to children. The love of children's literature has only use as a business area for the book industry without a full review of content. Thus, the policy and planning on children's literature become vital, given the children of the next generation of language, culture, and nation.

Abstract

The world-facing rapid growth in technology, particularly in education. In the implementation of the learning management system (LMS) in 21st century, society have proceeded against high intellectual behaviors with cybernated knowledge-based. Modern society requires the education practitioners and the learners to enhance their information communication technology within an e-learning situation where distant learning exist. A learning management system is a medium of teaching-learning for both educators and learners. It provides a bunch of avant-garde technology that support the learning process. Abstract

The aim of this study to investigate utilized literature circle method in learning recount text, in using literature circle method on learning recount text, the students expect Engage in learning process. This study used narrative inquiry. This paper is present by words and explanation. This research has conducted in one of the school at Karawang. Subject of this research are a students of XI class, consists of twelve. The data acquire from observation, interview and documentation. The result of this study explain that there are three phase do students engage learning to read in literature circle and students reaction about literature circle. The first, students are facilitated to choose the reading topic. The second, students are encouraged to have discussion session. The last, students are motivated to share their story to group. Learning reading use literature circle method increase students’ motivation, especially for sharing the story to other group and reading comprehension.

Abstract

For some people, Indonesia during colonial period is often imagined as a beautiful, quiet, peaceful, and harmonious country. Such imagination, for example, resides in the concept of Mooi Indie paintings which emerged out of Indonesian history during the Dutch colonial period. However, for other people, such representations were opposed because they were merely romanticized representation by painters patronized by the Dutch colonials who wanted to romanticize the memory of their past in East Indies.  In this article, we discussed how the concept of Mooi Indie appears in certain Indonesian landscape paintings, how the antagonism comes into sight, and how its politicality works.

Abstract

ABSTRAKFilm merupakan salah satu media komunikasi yang dapat menyampaikan pesan, film My Name Is Khan menyampaikan pesan melalui sikap-sikap yang ditujukan oleh pembicara (actor) melalui percakapan dalam setiap adegan nya. Melalui teori modalitas semantik penulis menganalisis sikap apa saja yang ditunjkan oleh pembicara(actor) dengan pembagian modalitas epistemik dan deontik. Penelitian ini memiliki tiga masalah: 1) Apa saja unsur-unsur modalitas semantik yang terdapat dalam film My Name Is Khan? 2) Kata-kata modalitas epistemik apa saja yang terdapat dalam film My Name Is Khan? 3) Kata-kata modalitas deontik apa saja yang terdapat dalam film My Name Is Khan? Untuk menjawab dan menganalisis pertanyaan diatas penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif karena penulis menganalisis dengan penjelasan deskriptif. Hasilnya penulis menemukan Film My Name Is Khan memiliki 50 modalitas epistemik dan 10 modalitas deontic di dalamnya. Masing-masing dari modalitas tersebut memiliki makna tersendiri sesuai dengan fungsinya dalam film. 50 modalitas epsitemik yang ditemukan berfungsi untuk menyampaikan perasaan, keharusan, dan kemungkinan. Sedangkan 10 modalitas yang ditemukan befungsi untuk  menyampaikan perizinan atau keperkenan-anKata Kunci: Film, Modalitas, Perasaan. ABSTRACTMovie is one of the communication media that can convey messages, My Name Is Khan film conveys messages through attitudes addressed by the speaker (actor) through conversation in each of his scenes. Through semantic modality theory, the writer analyzes what attitudes the speaker (actor) exhibits by dividing epistemic and deontic modalities. This research has three problems: 1) What are the elements of the semantic modality contained in My Name Is Khan movie? 2) What kind of epistemic modalities are found in My Name Is Khan movie? 3) What deontic modality words are found in the movie My Name Is Khan? To answer and analyze the above questions the author uses qualitative methods because the authors analyze with descriptive explanations. The result is that the writer found My Name Is Khan movie has 50 epistemic modalities and 10 deontic modalities in it. Each of these modalities has its own meaning according to its function in the film. 50 epistemic modalities found function to convey feelings, necessities, and possibilities. Abstract

This paper is aimed to examine the construction elements of Verbalphrase mit Präposition and Präpositionalphrase in German and the matters that influence it. The result of this paper indicates that Verpbalphrase mit Präposition is followed by prepositions and it is also influenced by subjects and cases. Präpositionalphrase can be formed from prepositions are followed by noun phrases and cases of Akkusativ, Dativ, and Genitiv. On the other hand, there are types of prepositions can be influenced by cases of Akkusativ and Dativ. The preposition is called Wechselpräpositionen. Verpbalphrase mit Präposition and Präpositionalphrase can be found in one sentence, so that, sentence can be formed from two types of phrases. Abstract

Feminism is the struggle of women to fight for their voice to be heard is a never-ending struggle that can be seen on media even in literature. Women ask for the equality as men received naturally, even in literature women depicted as someone hysterical and vulnerable however in the late 20th century until today the depiction of strong women is getting common even in Political world. The aspects of Political Feminism in The Crown series is the object of the study in order to uncover the aspects within the ideology itself. There are 30 data within the series that consists of Political Feminism with aspects of Political, Liberal, binary aspect of Political and Liberal. Within political feminism there are aspects that can be found and not political aspect only but also others such as liberal, etc.
