Abstract

Pantule media is the most basic media blind students use to practice reading and writing letter skills. The letters used by blind children are Braille. In this learning activity, the blind child only learns to read and write the alphabet and his PAI learning still includes material memorizing the pillars of Islam, the pillars of faith, the names of angels, the names of prophets and apostles, memorizing short surahs and memorizing daily prayers. Therefore, the author took the initiative to research the use of pantule media in increasing the understanding of the Braille Hijaiyah script for the blind group at SLBN Sampang. The aim is to introduce the Hijaiyah script while improving fluency in reading and writing Braille-based Hijaiyah so that students not only memorize the verses of the Al-Qur’an but are also able to know the Hijaiyah writing form. The approach used is through classroom action research (PTK) with the subject being a blind student. The model used follows the Kemmis & Mc. Taggart includes planning, action, observing, and reflection. The data analysis uses quantitative and qualitative data analysis with a classical success indicator of 85%. The results of the research obtained a pre-cycle average of 20 with a percentage of 0%, a cycle 1 average of 25 with a percentage of 0%, a cycle 2 average of 30 with a percentage of 0%, and a cycle 3 average of 35 with a percentage of 100%.   Keywords: Hijaiyah Script, Braille, Reflective Media, Blind.

Abstract

ASWAJA courses in higher education are not only taught in the PTNU environment, but also in various other tertiary institutions belonging to the Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah sect. This research is motivated by indications that the ASWAJA course is starting to be separated from its social-historical roots. The objective of this research is to explore the extent to which the ASWAJA course in tertiary institutions aligns with the vision of higher education and the needs of contemporary society. To this end, a qualitative approach is employed to investigate how ASWAJA is taught in universities and its relevance in addressing socio-religious issues. The objective of this research is to ensure that the ASWAJA course does not become utopian but rather provides students with a contextual understanding of the evolving dynamics of society. This article employs a qualitative approach, utilizing documentation and interview techniques, and the theoretical framework is drawn from the sociology of knowledge as developed by Karl Mannheim. The research findings indicate that, firstly, the ASWAJA course at the research site remains utopian and is incapable of fully integrating ASWAJA values with social reality. Secondly, to optimize the contribution of ASWAJA learning to the shaping of student character in a heterogeneous society, an approach is required that incorporates three aspects: intelligence questions, emotional questions, and spiritual questions. This approach is expected to strengthen students' understanding of ASWAJA in a more comprehensive, contextual, and applicable manner in social life: intelligence questions, emotional questions, and spiritual questions.   Keywords: Aswaja; NU; Social Character; Sociology Mannheim

Abstract

The Abbasid era marked the peak of scientific development in Islamic civilization, characterized by the integration of theology, mysticism, and philosophy. This journal analyzes the close relationship between scientific rationality and religious spirituality, which gave rise to a new intellectual tradition that combined Greek thought with Islamic values. Philosophers such as Al-Kindi, Al-Farabi, and Ibn Sina contributed to aligning Greek philosophy with Islamic teachings, while theologians and Sufis like Al-Ghazali emphasized the importance of the spiritual dimension in science. This article discusses how the synthesis between rationalism and mysticism in the Abbasid era not only expanded the horizons of theological and philosophical thought but also influenced the development of science within a theological context. The research finds that although there was tension between rationalism and mysticism, both played an integral role in facilitating the transformation of science during that period. By examining the impact of this duality on the development of science, the journal asserts that the Abbasid period was the culmination of Islamic scientific history, which had a significant impact on the intellectual world until the modern era.   Keywords: Theology, Mysticism, Philosophy, Science, Abbasids, Rationalism, Sufism, Transformation of Knowledge

Abstract

This article aims to outline the application of the takrir method in enhancing the memorization of the Qur'an and the factors that facilitate or hinder this implementation among female students at the Al-Iman Foundation, Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School, located in Kebun Sari Ampenan, Mataram City. The research employs a qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the takrir method is applied through four specific techniques, which include group takrir, individual takrir, takrir during prayers, and takrir in the presence of a teacher. These techniques are integrated with tahfidz and tasmi activities: Factors that support and impede the use of the takrir method are identified as follows: Supporting factors include teachers who are strict and consistent despite their limited numbers, parental motivation, a favorable environment for memorization, diligent peers, although some may show laziness and adequate cognitive abilities. Conversely, the hindrances consist of student conditions, such as laziness, fatigue, diminishing enthusiasm, emotional states, issues with memory retention, limited educational resources, particularly regarding teachers/ustazah, and constraints on time.   Keywords: Takrir Method, Memorizing the Qur’an, Islamic Boarding School

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at the senior high school level continues to face challenges in enhancing student motivation and engagement, primarily due to monotonous and minimally interactive instructional methods. To address this issue, the present study aims to develop a learning medium in the form of a Snakes and Ladders game based on a joyful learning approach, integrated with question and challenge cards, and to assess its feasibility through expert validation and limited trials. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) framework, this study adopts the ADDIE model, which comprises five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The learning medium is designed based on the thematic content of Q.S. al-Māidah / 5:48, which emphasizes competing in goodness, and Q.S. at-Taubah / 9:10, which highlights the Islamic work ethic. Validation by media experts yielded an average score of 3.85, while material experts assigned a score of 3.71, both categorized as “highly feasible.” Implementation in Grade X of senior high school demonstrated that the media enhanced students’ conceptual understanding, encouraged healthy social interactions, and nurtured their learning spirit. Despite certain limitations, such as time constraints and the dominance of the game-related elements, the media effectively supported an active and enjoyable learning process. Therefore, the snakes and ladders-based learning medium presents a promising pedagogical innovation for contextualizing Islamic Religious Education and reinforcing character development among high school students.   Keywords: Learning Media, Snakes and Ladders, Joyful Learning, Islamic Religious Education
