Abstract

Abstract

Background: The Belimbing Community Health Centre in Padang City exhibits a limited level of engagement among pregnant women in the administration of Covid-19 vaccinations.Purpose : The objective of this study was to ascertain the factors associated with the engagement of pregnant women in the Covid-19 vaccine within the operational jurisdiction of the Belimbing Health Centre. Methods: The present study adopts a quantitative approach and employs a cross-sectional study design. The data collection period spans from January to June 2022, and the study is conducted within the operating area of the Belimbing Health Centre. The study sample consists of 93 pregnant women. The method employed for sampling in this study is simple random sampling. Results: The findings of the study indicated that a significant majority of the participants, specifically 87.1%, had completed the initial step of the Covid-19 vaccination process. The study explored the association between pregnant women's knowledge, attitudes, the role of health personnel, the involvement of husbands, socio-economic status, and their level of participation in Covid-19 immunisation. The findings of the multivariate analysis indicated that the variable with the greatest influence was the mother's readiness for pregnancy (p-value = 0.028; POR = 4.510). The participation of pregnant women in Covid-19 immunisation is influenced by various factors, including knowledge, attitudes, the role of health providers, the role of spouses, and socio-economic factors. The primary determinant is the attitude exhibited by pregnant mothers. There is an expectation that healthcare professionals and family can enhance the level of confidence among pregnant women regarding their engagement in Covid-19 vaccination.

Abstract

Background: In 2018, measles remained a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, with over 9.7 million cases and more than 140,000 deaths associated with this disease. Additionally, rubella also has long-term health consequences, with an estimated 103,000 infants born with Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS). In 2022, there was a significant increase in the number of laboratory-confirmed measles cases, totaling 4,845 cases, with six resulting in death (CFR 0.1%). Some of the provinces most affected were Aceh, West Sumatra, and East Java. In 2022, the city of Pariaman was declared a state of emergency (KLB) for measles.Aims: To analyze the link between immunization status and measles/rubella incidents during the KLB event in Pariaman City in 2022.Method: Quantitative research with a case-control design. In this study, the researchers used secondary data contained in the annual report of Pariaman City Health Service for 2022. The researchers employed a parametric test with Chi-Square statistical test using the IBM SPSS computer program to determine the interaction between the two variables. Results: The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between a history of immunization and the occurrence of measles/rubella in Pariaman City. P = 0.032 (p < 0.05). An OR value of 3.25 (95% CI = 1.209 – 8.733) indicated that a history of non-immunization had a 3.25 times greater risk of exposure to measles/rubella than a history of immunization. Conclusion: Immunization history affects the outbreak in Pariaman City in 2022.

Abstract

Background: Nutritional surveillance monitors nutritional status to inform policy and programme decisions to improve community nutrition, including stunting. Chronic malnutrition and recurring illnesses cause stunting, which is when a child's length or height falls below the health minister's guidelines. Challenges include: not all Posyandu are active/covered low, not all targets have been input into the EPPGBM application (Toddlers and Pregnant Women), the use of the EPPGBM application in Community Health Centres has not been optimal, not all health workers and cadres have received height measurement training, coordination at each level, the monitoring system, and supervision to ensure height measurement quality. Due to its impact on the newborn, the first 1,000 days are critical. Permanent and lasting damage. Providing nutrition assistance at community health centre with surveillance can avoid stunting. Methods: The employed approach is participatory in nature, wherein partners are engaged to actively participate in various activities, while being supported by a dedicated staff that serves as a valuable resource and facilitator. The data analysis conducted for training purposes is to facilitate the implementation of the stunting surveillance programme, which is anticipated to encompass many sectors. This programme will primarily focus on monitoring and reporting nutrition-related activities, with a particular emphasis on stunting routines.

Abstract

BRadicular cysts are odontogenic inflammatory cysts, which are located at the apex of non-vital teeth. Radiographically, this cyst appears as a round radiolucency with firm borders. Radicular cysts enlarge progressively asymptomatically, until the cyst becomes quite large. This case report discusses a large radicular cyst in the maxilla, which extended from the region of teeth 24 to 13 past the midline of the maxilla. Of the several treatment options available for the treatment of large radicular cysts in the maxilla, the method of enucleation combined with marsupialization and decompression while preserving the bony window as well as extraction of the infected tooth was applied to the patient in this case. This method was chosen with the aim of reducing the size of the cyst cavity and bone tissue defects, as well as triggering the growth of new bone tissue. The procedure was carried out successfully without any complications. Obturator installation was also carried out on the patient, and there was good tissue recovery after surgery

Abstract

Background:The global measles cases increased by 79% in the first two months of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, leading to an outbreak, including in Indonesia. In 2022, Indonesia reported a total of 4845 confirmed laboratory cases of measles and six deaths in 32 out of 38 provinces. Challenges related to parental trust and doubts about vaccines have raised the risk of outbreaks due to unvaccinated children.Purpose:To synthesize and critically assess parental perspectives and attitudes towards the use of Measles Rubella/MR vaccination in childrenMethods:The research method employed was a systematic literature review, conducted by using primary studies from PubMed, Proquest, and ScienceDirect with the keywords “Parent; MR Vaccine; Parental perspective or parent's decision; child” published between 2018-2023, in English, open access, and relevant to the topicResults:A total of 17,759 research articles were screened for eligibility, and 9 articles met the inclusion criteria. Based on the 9 reviewed articles, parental perspective of Measles Rubella/MR vaccination was influenced by six factors: vaccine, social, knowledge, disease, trust, and practicality. Conclusion:It is crucial to develop strategies that target vaccine trust and address sources of vaccine hesitancy. Maintaining a trusting partnership between parents, healthcare providers, and the government is essential in dispelling doubts about the benefits and safety of vaccines.

Abstract

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable disease with an increasing incidence. DM is associated with deaths caused by several complications. One of the efforts to manage DM is to control blood glucose by maintaining regular check-ups and treatment compliance. Unfortunately, many people with DM still need to visit health facilities regularly.Purpose: This study aimed to explain the factors associated with the irregularity of type 2 DM patients having check-ups at the public health center (puskesmas). Methods: This cross-sectional study used the medical record data from Grabag II Public Health Center. The subjects were 135 outpatients with type 2 DM and complete medical records. Results: The results showed that visit irregularity was significantly associated with sex (OR = 3.8; 95% CI = 1.12-12.79), distance from home (OR = 0.2; 95% CI =  0.06-0.52), and duration of diagnosis (OR = 0.3; 95% CI=  0.12-0.85), but not with age, insurance, comorbidities, and types of therapy. Conclusion: Factors associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus patients' irregular visits to Puskesmas are sex, distance from home, and duration of diagnosis. Educational interventions at all levels of society should be carried out to increase knowledge about DM and the importance of regular check-ups and medication
