Abstract

Mangrove is an ecosystem consisting of a collection of trees and grows in the area around the coastline, living in conditions influenced by tides, muddy and sandy sediments. Has an important function in the effort to absorb carbon levels through the photosynthesis process which is better than other forest vegetation. The purpose of this study, namely to identify mangrove species, examine vegetation and determine the value of biomass and estimated carbon stock in Budo Village, Wori District, North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi. Data collection in this study used the line transect method with the transect position being on the left, middle and right of the mangrove ecosystem of Budo Village which was pulled along 100 meters per transect, then the quadrants were measured 10 m x 10 m using raffia rope to limit each quadrant with an interval of 10 m. m and the distance between transects is about 50 m. Based on the results of the study, found 4 types of mangroves, namely: Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora apiculata, Sonneratia alba, and Bruguiera gymnorrhyza. The highest density values and relative density of species were on transect 3 with a value of 900 trees/ha and 86.53% by Rhizophora apiculata. The species frequency and relative species frequency were highest in each transect owned by Rhizophora apiculata with values of 0.8 and 55.66%, respectively. The highest species cover was Rhizophora apiculata with a value of 2.56 cm/m with a relative species cover of 72.21%. The highest important value index was Rhizophora apiculata on transect 3 with a value of 214.31%. The highest biomass content was on transect 3 with a value of 592.27 tons/ha. The highest carbon content is on transect 3 with a value of 55.67 tons/ha.

Abstract

Manado Bay waters is one of the water areas in North Sulawesi that has potential fishery resources, with fishing efforts using rafts mounted on surface electric lights. For high FAD usefulness, the light used must be able to collect fish that are at great distances both horizontally and vertically. The purpose of this study was to obtain the composition of the fish caught and how much the fish was determined to be when the raft was without lights in the water and when the raft was equipped with lights in the water. The method used was an experiment using 2 (two) types of lights, namely electric surface lights and LED lights in water, and 3 (three) types of fishing gear, namely fishing rods, ring seines and nets). The types of fish caught were dominated by selar fish (Selaroides sp), moonfish (Lampris guttaus), Trevally fish (Caranx sp) and squid (Loligo sp). The fish's interest in the light was observed since the first 15 minutes the lights were turned on, and were around 4 to 6 meters and the longer they were getting closer to the lights for about 1 hour the fish would cluster around the raft for about 2-4 meters. Abstrak Perairan Teluk Manado merupakan salah satu kawasan perairan di Sulawesi Utara yang memiliki sumberdaya perikanan yang potensial, dengan usaha penangkapan ikan dengan alat bantu rakit yang dipasang lampu listrik permukaan. Untuk daya gunanya rumpon yang tinggi, maka cahaya yang digunakan harus mampu mengumpulkan ikan yang berada pada jarak yang jauh baik horisontal maupun vertikal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan komposisi hasil tangkapan ikan dan berapa dalam ketetapan ikan saat rakit tanpa lampu dalam air dan saat rakit dilengkapi lampu dalam air Metode yang digunakan adalah experimen dengan menggunakan 2 (dua) tipe lampu yakni lampu listrik permukaan dan lampu LED dalam air, dan 3 (tiga) jenis alat tangkap yakni pancing, pukat cincin dan jaring). Jenis ikan yang tertangkap didominasi berturut-turut oleh ikan selar (Selaroides sp), ikan moonfish (Lampris guttaus), ikan bobara (Caranx sp) dan cumi-cumi (Loligo sp). Ketertarikan ikan pada cahaya lampu teramati sejak 15 menit pertama dinyalakan lampu, dan berada di sekitar 4 sampai 6 meter dan semakin lama akan semakin mendekat ke lampu kira kira selama 1 jam ikan akan bergerombol di sekitar rakit sekitar 2 – 4 meter. Abstract

In the last few decades, coral reef ecosystem has been under significant pressure due to anthropogenic impacts and naturally driven factors. The coral reef ecosystem is unique because it has very high biodiversity and many organisms depend on its existence. Every organism in a coral reef ecosystem uniquely contributes to how coral reef communities survive and function. However, coral reef ecosystems are also vulnerable to pressures that cause degradation, interfering with the ecosystem balance. This study aims to monitor the ecological condition of coral reefs and the abundance of reef fish to see how the MPA program in Bahoi village helps the coral reef ecosystem from degradation. The data was collected using Line Intercept Transect (LIT) method, which was drawn 70 meters transect line horizontally at a depth of 3-5 meters. The same transect line was also used to collect data about reef fish by using a Visual Census. The observation distance length is 2.5 meters to the left and right of the transect line. Results of the study showed that the coral cover of MPA Bahoi Village is in the Fair category and the abundance of reef fish in the MPA area is in the Moderate category.  Keywords: Coral Cover; Coral Reef; Marine Protected Area (MPA); Monitoring; Reef Fish

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the type and composition of food contained in the stomach of the Spotchheek emperor Lethrinus rubrioperculatus in Napo Keluar Nain Likupang waters based on sex and body size. Samples were taken from the catch of fishermen and then the fish samples were then taken to the laboratory for data collection. The method used to determine the composition of fish food used the Index of preponderance (IP). The results showed that the food habits of Spotchheek emperor in Napo Luar Nain Likupang waters with the types of food contained in the stomach of Spotchheek emperor, namely fish, shrimp, gastropods, Polychaeta, crabs (megalopa), and octopus where the main food of Spotchheek emperor is IP fish (94,16%). While the main food based on sex and length of body size is fish, with male IP 96.98% and female 91.15% respectively, while based on body length of Spotchheek emperor where small IP 91.06%, medium IP 98.45% and large IP 82.22%. Keywords: Food, Likupang, preponderance Abstrak Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui jenis dan komposisi makanan yang terdapat dalam lambung ikan lencam Lethrinus rubrioperculatus di Napo Keluar Nain Perairan Likupang berdasarkan jenis kelamin dan ukuran tubuh. Sampel diambil dari hasil tangkapan nelayan kemudian sampel ikan selanjutnya dibawah ke Labolatorium untuk pengambilan data. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengetahui  komposisi makanan ikan digunakan indeks bagian terbesar (IBT). Metode ini  digunakan untuk menilai bermacam-macam jenis makanan ikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kebiasaan makanan ikan lencam di Napo Keluar Nain Perairan Likupang dengan jenis makanan yang terdapat dalam lambung ikan lencam yaitu ikan, udang, gastropoda, polychaeta, kepiting (megalopa) dan octopus di mana makanan utama dari ikan lencam adalah ikan IBT (94,16%). Sedangkan makanan utama berdasarkan jenis kelamin dan panjang ukuran tubuh yaitu ikan, dengan masing-masing IBT  jantan 96,07% dan betina 91,15% sedangkan berdasarkan panjang ukuran tubuh ikan lencam IBT kecil 91,98%, sedang 98,45% dan besar 82,22%. Abstract

Mangrove ecosystems are wetland resources in coastal areas, life support systems and natural wealth of very high value. The lack of information about the status of mangrove species at the study site as well as the alleged presence of various types of mangrove loss in each region have been identified as important mangrove knowledge information gaps. This can improve various conservation and management strategies, especially in maintaining the sustainability of mangrove ecosystems. This activity lasted 6 (six) months including data collection using the line transect method, the results showed that there were 5 types of mangroves at three stations including Soneratia alba, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora stylosa, Avicennia marina and ceriops tagal. High diversity (H') is found at Station 2 and Station 3 with a Dominance value (D) categorized as moderate at Station 1 while Stations 2 and 3 are categorized as medium, Uniformity (e) at all stations is high, absolute density is highest at station 1 and station 2, and at station 3 the absolute density is lowest, the similarity of community (IS) mangrove types in all three locations is the same because it still includes the same location in the intertaidal area. Keywords: Community structure, Mangrove, Tanjung Kelapa Abstrak Ekosistem mangrove merupakan sumber daya lahan basah pada wilayah pesisir, sistem penyangga kehidupan dan kekayaan alam yang nilainya sangat tinggi.. Kurangnya informasi tentang status spesies mangrove di lokasi penelitian serta dugaan adanya berbagai jenis kehilangan mangrove di setiap wilayah telah diidentifikasi sebagai kesenjangan informasi pengetahuan tentang mangrove yang penting. Hal ini dapat meningkatkan berbagai strategi konservasi dan pengelolaan, terutama dalam menjaga keberlangsungan ekosistem mangrove. Kegiatan ini berlangsung 6 (enam) bulan termasuk dengan pengambilan data mengunakan metode transek garis, Hasil penelitian menunjukan Terdapat 5 jenis mangrove pada ketiga stasiun diantaranya Soneratia alba, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora stylosa, Avicennia marina dan ceriops tagal. Keanekaragaman tinggi (H’) terdapat pada Stasiun 2 dan Stasiun 3 dengan nilai Dominansi (D) dikategorikan sedang pada Stasiun 1 sedangkan Stasiun 2 dan 3 dikategorikan sedang, Keseragaman (e) pada semua stasiun tinggi, kepadatan mutlak tertinggi pada stasiun 1 dan stasiun 2, dan pada stasiun 3 kepadatan mutlak terendah, kesamaan komunitas (IS) jenis mangrove pada ketiga lokasi sama karena masih mencakup satu lokasi yang sama didaerah intertaidal. Abstract

This study aims to determine the biometric comparison of otoliths of Banggai cardinal fish based on gender and to determine the comparison of otolith biometrics at two locations in the Waters Front of TPI Dudepo Kab. South Bolaang Mongondow and in the Lembeh Strait, Bitung City. Data collection in the field using the roaming survey method. Fishing is done by snorkelling, catching a minimum of 50 individuals representing each size class using Chang net/Sibu fishing gear. The differences in otoliths in male and female sexes have seven different otolith characters in otolith length (OL), otolith width (OW), otolith area (OA) and otolith perimeter (OP), roundness (Rnd), ellipticity (Ell) and aspect ratio (Ar), and three characters that do not show significant differences, namely form factor (Ff), circularity (Cir), rectangularity (Rec). Bolaang Mongondow Selatan dan di Selat Lembeh Kota Bitung. Pengambilan data di lapangan menggunakan metode survei jelajah. Penangkapan ikan dilakukan dengan penyelaman snorkling, penangkapan minimal 50 individu yang mewakili setiap kelas ukuran dengan alat tangkap Chang net/Sibu. Perbedaan otolit pada jenis kelamin jantan dan jenis kelamin betina memiliki tujuh perbedaan karakter otolit pada panjang otolit (OL), lebar otolit (OW), area otolit (OA) dan perimeter otolit (OP), roundness (Rnd), ellipticity (Ell) dan aspect ratio (Ar), dan tiga karakter yang tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan, yaitu form factor (Ff), circularity (Cir), rectangularity (Rec). Abstract

Marine debris is rapidly gaining worldwide recognition as a major anthropogenic threat to global ocean ecosystems and produces a wide range of negative environmental, economic, safety, health and cultural impacts (UNEP, 2009). East Asia is the region with the fastest growing waste production in the world. Indonesia is in second position after China which produces the most waste in the world (Jambeck et al, 2015). The Beach Hygiene Index is a scaled index in a “Clean Coast” program launched by the Israeli ministry in an effort to solve the problem of littering on Israel's beaches. This index can be used as an indicator of pollution in a marine tourism area. The purpose of this study was to identify types of marine debris in the coastal waters of Karang Ria Tuminting and determine the value of the Clean Coast Index as an indicator of pollution. The collected data was then processed and statistically analyzed using Excel, Orange and SPSS software. Sampling was done by adapting the Shoreline Survey Methodology. approximately 1 month and made 2 direct observations, the plastic and rubber waste categories were found as the most common categories with the first observation being 73.4% and the second observation being 10.1%. The activities of the surrounding community are the main factors causing the abundance of marine debris around the coastal areas. The index value obtained is 39.5 with a total of 395 waste in various categories as stated by NOAA (2016). Keywords: Marine debris, Index, Identification, Category ABSTRAK Sampah laut dengan cepat mendapatkan pengakuan dunia sebagai ancaman antropogenik utama bagi ekosistem lautan global dan menghasilkan berbagai macam dampak negatif lingkungan, ekonomi, keselamatan, kesehatan, dan budaya (UNEP, 2009). Asia Timur adalah wilayah dengan pertumbuhan produksi sampah tercepat di dunia. Indonesia berada pada posisi kedua setelah China yang memproduksi sampah terbanyak di dunia (Jambeck et al, 2015). Indeks Kebersihan Pantai adalah skala indeks dalam suatu program “Clean Coast” yang diluncurkan kementerian Israel dalam upaya untuk memecahkan permasalahan sampah di pantai-pantai Israel. Indeks ini dapat digunakan sebagai indikator polusi pada suatu kawasan wisata bahari. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi jenis sampah laut di perairan pantai Karang Ria Tuminting dan menentukan nilai Indeks Kebersihan Pantai (Clean Coast Index) sebagai indikator polusi. Data yang dikumpulkan kemudian diolah dan dianalisis secara statistik dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak Excel, Orange dan SPSS. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan mengadaptasi metode Shoreline Survey Methodology. Pengamatan dilaksanakan kurang lebih 1 bulan dan dilakukan 2 kali pengamatan langsung, diperoleh kategori sampah plastik dan karet sebagai kategori yang paling banyak ditemukan dengan komposisi jumlah pada pengamatan pertama sebesar 73.4% dan pengamatan kedua sebanyak 10.1%. aktivitas masyarakat sekitar menjadi faktor utama penyebab berlimpahnya sampah laut di sekitar wilayah pesisir. Nilai indeks yang diperoleh yaitu sebanyak 39,5 dengan jumlah total 395 sampah dengan berbagai kategori sesuai dengan yang dikemukakan oleh NOAA (2016). Abstract

Abstract The waters around Nain Island have quite a lot of biological resources. One of the resources in these waters is the halfbeak Hemiramphus lutkei. This study aims to determine the relationship between length-weight and reproduction of the halfbeak Hemiramphus lutkei. The length-weight relationship, growth patterns and condition factors. Reproduction includes sex ratio, gonadal maturity level, gonadal maturity index and fecundity. Fish sampling were taken from the catches of fishermen. The number of samples required is 200, the samples are taken twice in two months from June-July. The length-weight relationship of male was W= 0.1705L1.8204 negative allometric growth pattern and female fish W = 0.0572L2.1962 negative allometric growth pattern. The condition factor of male and female where 0.98 ± 0.06 and 1.03 ± 0.07 respectively. The sex ratio of male and female (1: 0.835). The gonad maturity level of male (immature, developing, mature, ripe and spent) was found in June and female (immature, developing, mature, ripe and spent) found in June and July. The fecundity of ranged from 923 – 3,578 eggs with an average of 1,899 ± 666. Salah satu sumberdaya yang berada di perairan tersebut yaitu, ikan julungjulung Hemiramphus lutkei. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan panjang-berat dan reproduksi ikan julungjulung Hemiramphus lutkei. Hubungan panjang-berat meliputi pola pertumbuhan dan faktor kondisi. Reproduksi meliputi rasio kelamin, tingkat kematangan gonad, indeks kematangan gonad dan fekunditas. Lokasi pengambilan sampel ikan diambil di perairan sekitar Pulau Nain dan sampel diambil dari hasil tangkapan nelayan. Jumlah sampel yang diperlukan sebanyak 200 ekor, sampel diambil sebanyak dua kali dalam dua bulan dari Juni-Juli. Hubungan panjang-berat ikan julungjulung jantan yaitu W= 0,1705L1,8204 pola pertumbuhan allometrik negatif. Ikan julungjulung betina W = 0,0572L2,1962 pola pertumbuhan allometrik negatif. Faktor kondisi ikan julungjulung jantan dan betina bernilai 0,98 ± 0,06 dan 1,03 ± 0,07. Rasio kelamin ikan julungjulung jantan dan betina (1:0,835). Tingkat kematangan gonad ikan julungjulung jantan (I, II, III, IV dan V) ditemukan pada setiap bulan Juni. Tingkat kematangan gonad ikan julungjulung betina (I, II, III, IV dan V) ditemukan pada setiap sampel pada bulan Juni maupun Juli. Abstract

Skipjack tuna is classified as an important pelagic fishery resource and is one of the export commodities so that production needs to be continuously increased by maintaining the sustainability of these fish resources. This study aims to determine the development of production and productivity of the pole and liner vessels observed and to determine the length-weight relationship of the catches of the pole and liner vessels observed at the Bitung Ocean Fishing Port (PPS). In general, the production and productivity of pole and liners based at the Samudera Bitung Fishing Port increased from November 2021 to December 2021 and then decreased again in January 2022, so that they were declared unproductive. Pole and liner catches that are landed at the Bitung Ocean Fishing Port in the period November 2021 - January 2022 tend to get the same results with the size caught, namely 29-64 cm, with a positive allometric growth pattern. Keywords : Production and Productivity, Growth Patterns, Pole and Liner Abstrak Ikan cakalang tergolong sumberdaya perikanan pelagis penting dan merupakan salah satu komoditi ekspor sehingga produksinya perlu terus ditingkatkan dengan menjaga kelestarian sumberdaya ikan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkembangan produksi dan produktivitas dari kapal pole and liner yang diamati dan mengetahui hubungan panjang-berat hasil tangkapan kapal pole and liner yang diamati di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera (PPS) Bitung. Secara umum produksi dan produktivitas pole and liner yang berpangkalan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Bitung mengalami kenaikan dari bulan November 2021 ke bulan Desember 2021 dan selanjutnya mengalami penurunan kembali pada bulan Januari 2022, sehingga dinyatakan tidak produktif. Hasil tangkapan pole and liner yang didaratakan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Bitung pada periode November 2021 – Januari 2022 cenderung mendapatkan hasil yang sama dengan ukuran yang tertangkap yaitu 29-64 cm, dengan pola pertumbuhan bersifat alometrik positif. Abstract

This research about morphometric and meristic character of yellow stripscad. Fish samples were selected from various sizes in order to represent the various sizes of yellow stripscad that existin nature. Samples of yellow stripscad were taken from fish landed at TPI Tumumpa as many as 60 tail and PPI Kema as many as 60 tail. The purpose of this study was to determine how the morphometric and meristic character of yellow stripscad landed in TPI Tumumpa and PPI Kema. Data analysis with K-mean cluster method using SPSS 25 and Ms. Excel 2019. Yellow stripscad landed in TPI Tumumpa and PPI Kema have different morphometric character with percentage difference of 95%. For meristic character have a fairly small lavel of difference with a difference of 29%. Keywords : yellow stripscad, morphometric, meristic, TPI Tumumpa, PPI Kema. Abstrak Penelitian ini mengenai karakter morfometrik dan meristik ikan selar kuning. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel ikan akan dipilih dari berbagai macam ukuran agar dapat mewakili berbagai macam ukuran ikan selar kuning yang ada di alam. Sampel ikan selar kuning diambil dari ikan yang didaratkan di TPI Tumumpa sebanyak 60 ekor dan di PPI Kema sebanyak 60 ekor. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana karakter morfometrik dan meristik ikan selar kuning yang didaratkan di TPI Tumumpa dan PPI Kema. Analisis data dengan metode K-mean cluster menggunakan program SPSS 25 dan Ms. Excel 2019. Ikan selar kuning yang didaratkan di TPI Tumumpa dan PPI Kema memiliki karakter morfometrik yang berbeda dengan persentase perbedaan sebesar 95%. Untuk  karakter meristiknya memiliki tingkat perbedaan yang cukup kecil dengan tingkat perbedaan sebesar 29%.  Kata- kata kunci : ikan selar kuning, morfometrik, meristik, TPI  Tumumpa, PPI Kema.
