Abstract

The objective of this research is to identify the types and size distribution of parrotfish in the waters of Taduna Village. The research was conducted using sampling methods. Samples were collected over a period of two months from the catches landed in Taduna Village by local fishermen. The fishermen used gillnets for their catches. The length of each fish was measured from the tip of the mouth to the end of the tail using a millimeter-scale ruler with a precision of 0.1 cm. The weight of the fish was measured using a digital scale with a resolution of one gram. The length of each species was analyzed using frequency distribution and presented in length and weight histograms. Based on the data obtained from the measurements of Family Scaridae fish, a total of 53 individuals were collected, consisting of 8 species: Chorurus bleekeri (11 individuals), Calotomus carolinus (4 individuals), Chorurus japanensis (6 individuals), Chlorurus microrhinos (2 individuals), Scarus frenatus (16 individuals), Scarus russell (4 individuals), Scarus spinus (5 individuals), and Scarus tricolor (5 individuals). The distribution of Family Scaridae fish in the waters off Taduna Village shows varying lengths and weights for each species. For example, Chorurus bleekeri ranged from 18.9 to 26.5 cm in length and weighed between 150 and 394 grams, Chorurus japanensis had a length distribution between 17.5 and 27.4 cm and weighed from 119 to 465 grams, and Scarus frenatus ranged from 18.3 to 24.5 cm in length and weighed between 117 and 308 grams." Keywords: Parrotfish, Scaridae, Types, Size, Kabaruan. Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui jenis dan distribusi ukuran ikan kakatua di perairan Desa Taduna. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sampling. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dalam waktu dua bulan dari hasil tangkapan nelayan yang didaratkan di Desa Taduna. Alat yang digunakan nelayan adalah jaring insang mono filamen. Seluruh panjang ikan diukur dari ujung mulut hingga ujung ekor dengan penggaris skala milimeter dengan ketelitian 0,1 cm. Berat ikan diukur dengan timbangan digital dengan resolusi satu gram. Panjang setiap spesies dianalisis menggunakan distribusi frekuensi dan ditampilkan dalam histogram panjang dan berat. Berdasarkan data hasil pengukuran ikan Famili Scaridae diperoleh sebanyak 53 individu yang terdiri dari 8 spesies yaitu Chorurus bleekeri (11 individu), Calotomus carolinus (4 individu), Chorurus japanensis (6 individu), Chlorurus microrhinos (2 individu), Scarus frenatus (16 individu), Scarus russellii (4 individu), Scarus spinus (5 individu) dan Scarus tricolor (5 individu). Distribusi ikan Famili Scaridae di perairan depan Desa Taduna memiliki ukuran panjang dan berat yang bervariasi yaitu spesies Chorurus bleekeri berkisar 18,9-26,5 cm dan berat 150-394 gram, Chorurus japanensis memiliki distribusi ukuran panjang berkisar 17,5-27,4 cm dan berat 119-465 gram dan Scarus frenatus memiliki distribusi ukuran panjang berkisar 18,3-24,5 cm dan berat 117-308 gram. Abstract

Sapa Village, Tenga District, South Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province has a seagrass meadow ecosystem, but there is still a lack of information about the seagrass community in the waters of Sapa Village, which is the reason for researching the presence of seagrass in these waters. With the aim of knowing the types of seagrass, environmental conditions, species density, relative density, domination index, and species diversity index. Based on the results of observations at the location, it showed a temperature of 30OC, salinity of 30‰, pH 8, and sandy substrate and coral rubble. The results of the identification there are 4 types of seagrass namely Thalassia hemprichii, Syringodium isoetifolium, Cymodocea rotundata, and Halodule uninervis. The type with the highest number of individuals vizThalassia hemprichii with a total of 694 individuals, Halodule uninervis 557 individuals, Cymodocea rotundata358 individuals andSyringodium isoetifolium 324 individuals. Density index type (10,80 – 23,13 individuals/m2), relative density (16.76 - 35.90%) dominance index D = 0.32, and diversity H = 1.33. Keywords: seagrass, sapa village, community structure Abstrak Desa Sapa Kecamatan Tenga Kabupaten Minahasa Selatan Provinsi  Sulawesi Utara memiliki ekosistem padang lamun namun masih kurangnya informasi mengenai komunitas lamun di perairan Desa Sapa ini menjadi alasan untuk meneliti tentang keberadaan lamun di perairan tersebut. Dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis lamun, kondisi lingkungan, Kepadatan spesies, Kepadatan Relatif, Indeks Dominasi, dan  Indeks Keanekaragaman Spesies. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan di lokasi menunjukan suhu 30oC, salinitas 30‰, pH 8 dan substrat berpasir serta pecahan karang. Hasil identifikasi terdapat 4 jenis lamun yaitu Thalassia hemprichii, Syringodium isoetifolium, Cymodocea rotundata, dan Halodule uninervis. Jenis dengan jumlah individu terbanyak yaitu Thalassia hemprichii dengan jumlah  694 individu, Halodule uninervis 557 individu, Cymodocea rotundata 358 individu dan Syringodium isoetifolium 324 individu. Indeks kepadatan jenis (10,80 – 23,13 individu/m2), kepadatan relatif (16,76 - 35,90%) indeks dominasi D=0,32 dan keanekaragaman H= 1,33. Kata kunci: lamun, desa sapa, struktur komunitas

Abstract

Starfish is one of the marine biota that produces bioactive compounds and has biological activity. The aims of this study were to determine the content of bioactive compounds and to test the antibacterial activity of the extract of the starfish Linckia laevigata against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria. Determination of the content of bioactive compounds was carried out by qualitative zoochemical analysis while the antibacterial test used the disc diffusion method. The results showed that the extract of the starfish L. laevigata has bioactive compounds from the alkaloid, triterpenoid, tannin, flavonoid, phenolic, and saponin groups. Inhibitory activity against S. aureus and E.coli based on the inhibition zone formed showed that L. laevigata starfish extract produced low antibacterial activity Keywords : Starfish (Linckia laevigata), Zoochemistry, Antibacterial, Disc diffusion Abstrak Bintang laut merupakan salah satu biota laut yang memproduksi senyawa bioaktif dan memiliki aktivitas biologis.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kandungan senyawa bioaktif dan melakukan pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dari ekstrak bintang laut Linckia laevigata terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli. Penentuan kandungan senyawa bioaktif dilakukan dengan analisis zookimia kualitatif sedangkan pengujian antibakteri menggunakan metode difusi cakram. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa ekstrak bintang laut L. laevigata memiliki senyawa bioaktif dari golongan alkaloid, triterpenoid, tanin, flavonoid, fenolik, dan saponin. Aktivitas penghambatan terhadap S. aureus dan E.coli berdasarkan zona hambat yang terbentuk menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak bintang laut L. laevigata menghasilkan aktivitas antibakteri yang rendah Kata kunci :Bintang Laut Linckia laevigata, Zookimia, Antibakteri, Difusi cakram.

Abstract

The morphometric and meristic study of the lemuru Sardinella lemuru landed at TPI Aertembaga, Bitung City aims to examine the ratio and proportion ratio between the total length and other morphometric parameters, the correlation index of growth patterns, the correlation index of closeness and correlation, determining the caudal fin ratio and determining its meristic character. The research was conducted in February-June 2023 and used a quantitative descriptive method. Of the 100 lemuru fish observed, there were 35 males with a total length between 13,184-15,589 cm and 65 females which were longer between 12,083-16,420 cm. The growth pattern of lemuru both male and female is positively allometric dominant with the lowest correlation index r (closeness) in the relationship of eye diameter to the total length of the male fish, namely r = 0.01 (very weak) and the highest in the standard length relationship to the total length of the female fish, namely r = 0.97 (very strong). The highest percentage ratio of other size parameters and total length was for the fork length of the male fish, which was 91.1% and the lowest was for the diameter of the female's eye, 4.2%. The tail fin aspect ratio of female fish is greater than male fish with a value of 1.61 for females and 1.57 for males. The meristics of the male lemuru are D 13-18, P 13-18, V 5-8, A 15-23 and C 17-25 and the females are D 13-18, P 12-18, V 6-9, A 13- 26 and C 15-28. Keywords: total length, small pelagic, growth status Abstrak Penelitian mengenai morfometrik dan meristik ikan lemuru Sardinella lemuru yang didaratkan di TPI Aertembaga Kota Bitung bertujuan untuk mengkaji rasio serta persentase rasio antara panjang total dan paramter morfometrik lainnya, indeks korelasi pola pertumbuhan, indeks keeratan hubungan korelasi dan, menentukan ratio sirip ekor serta menentukan karakter meristiknya. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari-Juni 2023 dan menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Dari 100 individu ikan lemuru yang diamati ada 35 individu jantan dengan panjang total selang 13,184-15,589 cm dan 65 individu betina yang lebih panjang selang 12,083-16,420 cm. Pola pertumbuhan ikan lemuru baik jantan dan betina dominan allometrik positif dengan indeks korelasi r (keeratan) terendah pada hubungan diameter mata terhadap panjang total ikan jantan yakni r = 0,01 (sangat lemah) dan tertinggi pada hubungan panjang standar terhadap panjang total ikan betina yakni r = 0,97 (sangat kuat). Persentase rasio parameter ukuran lain dan panjang total tertinggi pada panjang garpu ikan jantan yakni 91,1 % dan terendah pada diameter mata betina 4,2 %. Aspek rasio sirip ekor lebih besar ikan betina daripada ikan jantan dengan nilai 1,61 pada betina dan 1,57 pada ikan jantan. Meristik ikan lemuru jantan yakni D 13-18, P 13-18, V 5-8, A 15-23 dan C 17-25 serta betina yakni D 13-18, P 12-18, V 6-9, A 13-26 dan C 15-28. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the biometrics of yellowtail fish (length-weight relationship, growth patterns, condition factors, length-fecundity relationship) and reproductive aspects (gonadal maturity level, gonadal maturity index, and fecundity). The yellowtail fish sample used in this study was taken from fishermen's catches in April 2023. A total of 73 male individuals 17.0-29.9 cm total length, 62.00-356.00 gram, 77 female individuals 17.5-8 .1 cm total length, weight 69.88-288.00 grams. Male length-weight relationship W= 0.0140L2.9662 R2= 0.9812, isometric growth pattern. Female W= 0.0166L2.9104, R2 = 0.9633, growth pattern isometric. Condition factor 1.00 ± 0.06 for males and 1.00 ± 0.07 for females. Gonadal maturity levels I, II, III, IV and V for both males and females with the number of individuals at TKG I 65, II 26, III 25, IV 24, and V 10 individuals. The gonadal maturity index with the highest average value was 1.08 ± 0.47 at TKG IV. Fecundity ranged from 1.771-68.425 which was calculated on 28 fish samples with a mean ± SD of 20.158 ± 19.110. Biometric relationship with fecundity F = 102.67L0.1955, R² = 0.0789 shows a very weak relationship between length and fecundity. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis biometrik  ikan ekor kuning (hubungan panjang-berat, pola pertumbuhan, faktor kondisi, hubungan panjang-fekunditas)   dan aspek reproduksi (tingkat  kematangan gonad, indeks kematangan gonad, dan fekunditas). Sampel ikan ekor kuning yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diambil dari tangkapan nelayan pada bulan April 2023. Sebanyak 73 individu jantan 17,0-29,9 cm panjang total, 62,00-356,00 gram, 77 individu betina   17,5-8,1 cm panjang total, berat  69,88-288,00 gram.   Hubungan panjang-berat jantan W= 0,0140 L 2,9662 R2= 0,9812, pola pertumbuhan isometrik. Betina W= 0,0166L2,9104, R2 = 0,9633, pola pertumbuhan isometrik. Fakotor kondisi 1,00±0,06 untuk jantan dan betina 1,00±0,07. Tingkat kematangan gonad I, II, III, IV dan V baik jantan maupun betina dengan jumlah  individu pada TKG I  65, II 26, III 25,  IV 24, dan V 10 individu.  Indeks kematangan gonad dengan nilai rata-rata tertinggi yaitu 1,08±0,47 pada TKG IV. Fekunditas berkisar pada  1.771-68.425 yang dihitung pada 28 sampel ikan dengan rata-rata ± SD  20.158 ±19.110. Hubungan biometrik  dengan fekunditas F = 102,67L0,1955, R² = 0,0789 menunjukkan hubungan yang sangat lemah antara panjang dan fekunditas. Kata Kunci: Panjang-berat, faktor kondisi, kematangan gonad indeks, fekunditas.

Abstract

On the coast of Beton Panjang and Tasik Ria, there are tidal flats with white sand substrates and some seagrass beds (seagrass) and macroalgae. Until now, there is still limited research on macroalgae in Beton Panjang and Tasik Ria. However, studies on macroalgae, especially aspects of their anatomical characteristics, have not been carried out. Therefore, it is necessary to study the anatomical characteristics and structure of the community. Sampling was carried out at the lowest ebb with the help of an application (to find out the lowest ebb time). They are laying transects at each location for macroalgae data collection as many as 3 transect lines 50 m long drawn perpendicularly from the coast towards the sea with the assumption that the community is evenly distributed. The distance between transects is 30 m with a squared distance of 5 m. Each square is used for data collection measuring 1 x 1 m². Analysis of the density index and relative density in Beton Panjang coastal waters yielded a density value of 0.06 ind.m2 – 0,43 ind./m2. The lowest density value is in the speciesLaurencia papillosa and the highest is in speciesPadina australis With a total density of individuals per species of 0.43 ind./m2. In the coastal waters of Tasik Ria, the highest density index is for species Neomeris  annulled with a value of 0.63 ind./m2. The highest diversity index value is in the coastal waters of Tasik Ria with a value of H' = 2.33, while the highest dominance index is in the coastal waters of Beton Panjang with a dominance value of D = 0.16. The highest wealth and equity values ​​are in the coastal waters of Tasik Ria with a value of d = 2.27 and E = 0.94. Keywords: macroalgae, Beton Panjang, Tasik Ria, anatomical characteristics   Abstrak Di pesisir Beton Panjang dan Tasik Ria terdapat rataan pasang surut dengan substrat pasir putih dan beberapa hamparan lamun (seagrass) serta makroalga. Sampai saat ini, masih terbatas penelitian tentang makroalga di Beton Panjang dan Tasik Ria. Namun, kajian mengenai makroalga khususnya aspek karakteristik anatomi belum dilakukan. Oleh sebab itu, perlu dilakukan kajian karakteristik anatomi dan juga struktur komunitasnya.Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada saat surut terrendah dengan bantuan aplikasi Tides (untuk mengetahui waktu surut terrendah). Peletakan transek pada masing-masing lokasi untuk pengambilan data makroalga sebanyak 3 garis transek sepanjang 50 m yang ditarik tegak lurus dari pantai ke arah laut dengan asumsi bahwa penyebaran komunitas merata. Jarak antar transek yaitu 30 m dengan jarak kuadrat yaitu 5 m. Setiap kuadrat dipakai untuk pengambilan data berukuran 1 x 1 m². Analisi indeks kepadatan dan kepadatan relatif di perairan pesisir Beton Panjang di dapat nilai kepadatan 0,06 ind.m2 – 0,43 ind./m2. Nilai kepadatan terendah ada pada spesies Laurencia papillosa dan yang tertinggi ada pada spesies Padina australis Dengan jumlah kepadatan individu perjenis 0,43 ind./m2. Pada perairan pesisir Tasik Ria, indeks kepadatan tertinggi ada pada spesies Neomeris annulata dengan nilai 0,63 ind./m2 . Nilai indeks keanekaragaman tertinggi ada pada pada perairan pesisir Tasik Ria dengan nilai H’= 2,33, sedangkan untuk indeks dominasi tertinggi ada pada perairan pesisir Beton Panjang dengan nillai dominasi D=0,16. Untuk nilai kekayaan dan kemerataan tertinggi ada pada perairan pesisir Tasik Ria dengan nilai d= 2,27 dan E= 0,94. Katakunci: makroalga, Beton Panjang, Tasik Ria, karakteristik anatomi.

Abstract

Bunaken National Park is known for its beautiful underwater scenery, with potential for coral reefs and tourism activities, such as diving and snorkeling. The waters of Popareng village is located in the southern part of Bunaken National Park. This study aims to determine the coral reef components and conditions based on the percent coral cover in Popareng waters, Tatapaan district, South Minahasa regency. A descriptive method was used in this study. Data collection was conducted at the depth of 7 meters with 4 replications using an Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) method. Data were analysed using the Coral Point Count with Excel Extension (CPCe) application. Results revealed that the coral reef components included 24 biotic categories and 3 abiotic categories, with the lowest percent coral cover found in the Acropora Digitate (ACD) category at 0.03%. The coral reef conditions this area is moderate with percent cover of 33.92%. Abstrak Taman Nasional Bunaken dikenal dengan keindahan bawah lautnya, memiliki potensi terumbu karang, dan potensi parawisata dengan kegiatan utama yang dapat dilakukan adalah diving dan snorkeling (Handoyo dan Johanis, 2021). Perairan Desa Popareng merupakan bagian selatan dari Kawasan Taman Nasional Bunaken. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komponen bentik penyusun terumbu karang dan kondisi terumbu karang, berdasarkan persentase tutupan karang di perairan Desa Popareng Kecamatan Tatapaan Kabupaten Minahasa Selatan. Metode deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada kedalaman 7 meter dengan 4 ulangan, menggunakan metode Underwater Photo Transect (UPT). Data lapangan yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan aplikasi Coral Point Count with excel extension (CPCe). Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan komponen bentik penyusun terumbu karang meliputi 24 kategori biotik dan 3 kategori abiotik, dan persentase tutupan tertinggi ditemukan kategori yaitu Rubble (R) sebesar 21,13%, sedangkan persentase tutupan terendah berada pada kategori Acropora Digitate (ACD) sebesar 0,03%. Diperoleh hasil kondisi terumbu karang tergolong dalam kategori cukup dengan persentase tutupan karang sebesar 33,92

Abstract

Seagrass are flowering plants (Angiosperms) that are fully adapted to life immersed in the sea. This plant consists of rhizomes, leaves and roots, (Rhizomes are stems that sink and creep horizontally, leave and flower, and grow roots). It is these rhizomes and roots that hold back the waves and currents on seagrass plants. The purpose of this study was to determine seagrass species, species density, relative density, species frequency, relative frequency, species closure, relative closure, important value index, diversity index, domination index and aquatic environmental conditions. There are 4 species of seagrass found in the waters of Poopoh Beach, namely, Thalassia hemprichii, Enhalus acoroides, Halodule pinifolia, Halophila ovalis. The number of stands of seagrass species in the study area ranged from 53-965 individuals, species density (17.67-321.67) individuals/m2, relative density (3.98-72.61%), frequency (0.045-0.90), relative frequency (3.57-71.42%), species closure (0.41-7.31), relative coverage (1.04-78.12%), seagrass importance value index in Poopoh Beach waters shows that Thalassia hemprchii has the highest importance value index among the other 3 seagrass species namely (212.85%), diversity index (0.97), species dominance index (0.11-0.44%/m²). Environmental conditions in the waters of Poopoh Beach, which has a temperature range of 38°C, a salinity of 35‰, has a substrate of sand, sand mixed with mud, muddy and coral fragments. Keywords: Poopoh Beach, Seagrass, Community Structure. Abstrak Lamun adalah tumbuhan berbunga (Angiospermae) yang sepenuhnya menyesuaikan diri dengan hidup terbenam dalam laut. Tumbuhan ini terdiri dari rhizoma, daun dan akar, (Rhizoma adalah batang yang terbenam dan merayap secara mendatar, berdaun dan berbunga, serta tumbuh akar). Rhizoma dan akar inilah yang menahan hempasan ombak dan arus pada tumbuhan lamun. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis lamun,  kerapatan spesies, kerapatan relatif, frekuensi jenis, frekuensi relatif, penutupan jenis, penutupan relatif, indeks nilai penting, indeks keanekaragaman, indeks dominasi dan kondisi lingkungan perairan. Spesies lamun yang ditemukan diperairan Pantai Poopoh berjumlah 4 spesies yaitu, Thalassia hemprichii, Enhalus acoroides, Halodule pinifolia, Halophila ovalis. Jumlah tegakan spesies lamun dilokasi penelitian berkisar dari 53-965 individu, kerapatan spesies (17,67-321,67) individu/m2, kerapatan relatif (3,98-72,61%), frekuensi (0,045-0,90), frekuensi relatif (3,57-71,42%), penutupan jenis (0,41-7,31), penutupan relatif (1,04-78,12%), indeks nilai penting lamun diperairan Pantai Poopoh menunjukkan bahwa Thalassia hemprchii memiliki indeks nilai penting paling tinggi diantara ke 3 spesies lamun lainnya yakni (212,85%), indeks keanekaragaman (0,97), indeks dominasi spesies (0,11-0,44%/m²). Kondisi Lingkungan diperairan Pantai Poopoh yakni mamiliki kisaran suhu 28°C, salinitas 30‰, memiliki substrat pasir, pasir campur lumpur, berlumpur dan patahan karang. Abstract

This study aims to determine the number of species, number of individuals, density, and community structure of the Chaetodontidae. The study was conducted in the waters of Poopoh Village, Tombariri District, Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province, at Poopoh Cape, which is located within the conservation area of Bunaken National Park, South Zone, marine protected zone. Data collection was conducted at depths of 3 and 10 meters. At each depth, 2 transects were placed, each with a length of 25 meters, using the Underwater Visual Census (UVC) method with an observation area of 125 m². The results of the study showed that the Chaetodontidae fish was found, consisting of 4 genera, namely Chaetodon, Forcipiger, Heniochus, and Hemitaurichthys, with 18 species and 598 individuals. A higher number of species was found at 3 meters depth. One of the most frequently encountered species was Hemitaurichthy polylepis, with a density of 0.442 individuals per square meter. Based on the data analysis, the species diversity index (H') at 3 meters depth was classified as high, while at 10 meters depth, it was classified as low. This result is consistent with the evenness index (J'), which indicates that the 3-meter depth has a more stable community compared to the 10-meter depth. On the other hand, the dominance index (D) shows the opposite trend, with a higher species dominance level at a depth of 10 meters. Penelitian ini dilakukan di perairan Desa Poopoh, Kecamatan Tombariri, Kabupaten Minahasa, Provinsi Sulawesi Utara di Tanjung Poopoh, yang terletak di dalam kawasan konservasi Taman Nasional Bunaken, bagian Selatan, zona perlindungan bahari. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada kedalaman 3 dan 10 meter. Pada setiap kedalaman diletakkan 2 transek, masing-masing dengan panjang 25 m dengan menggunakan metode Underwater Visual Census (UVC) dengan luas pengamatan sebesar 125 m2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa famili ikan Chaetodontidae yang ditemukan di perairan Desa Poopoh, Kecamatan Tombariri, terdiri dari 4 (empat) genus, yaitu Chaetodon, Forcipiger, Heniochus, dan Hemitaurichthys dengan 18 spesies dan 598 individu. Jumlah spesies yang lebih tinggi ditemukan pada kedalaman 3 m. Salah satu spesies yang paling sering ditemukan adalah Hemitaurichthy polylepis, dengan kepadatan 0,442 individu per meter persegi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, indeks keanekaragaman spesies (H') pada kedalaman 3 m tergolong tinggi, sedangkan pada kedalaman 10 m tergolong rendah. Hasil ini konsisten dengan indeks keseimbangan (J'), yang menunjukkan bahwa kedalaman 3 m memiliki komunitas yang lebih stabil dibandingkan dengan kedalaman 10 m. Di sisi lain, indeks dominansi (D) menunjukkan kecenderungan yang berlawanan, dengan tingkat dominansi spesies yang lebih tinggi pada kedalaman 10 m. Abstract

The ecological function of mangroves can be viewed from three aspects, namely physical, chemical, and biological aspects. Data collection of mangrove community structure using line transect quadrant method by pulling the line along 100 m from the sea to land at the lowest tide. The results of mangrove community structure analysis in West Madapolo Village, North Obi District, South Halmahera Regency. Identified 4 types of mangroves namely Rhizopora apiculata, Sonneratia alba, Brugueira gymnorhiza, and Lumnitzera litorea found at the 3 stations. The highest species density value is Rhizopora apiculata, at station 1. The highest frequency by Rhizopora apiculata, and Brugueira gymnorhiza species at station 1 with the same value of 39.29. The highest cover by Rhizopora apiculata species at station 1 with a value of 49.73 and the lowest by S. alba species at 14.17 while the highest importance value index by Rhizopora apiculata species at 147.99 and the lowest is Sonneratia alba 40.54. The highest diversity at station 2, and the lowest at station 1, the highest diversity at station 2 while the highest dominance is found at the station and the lowest at station 2. Keywords: Structure Community, Mangrove, Village Madapolo Barat Abstrak Fungsi ekologis mangrove dapat ditinjau dari tiga aspek, yakni aspek fisika, kimia dan biologi. Pengambilan data struktur komunitas mangrove menggunakan metode line transek kuadran dengan cara menarik line garis sepanjang 100 m dari arah laut ke darat pada saat surut terendah. Hasil analislis struktur komunitas mangrove di Desa Madapolo Barat, Kecamatan Obi Utara, Kabupaten Halmahera Selatan. Teridentifikasi 4 jenis mangrove yaitu Rhizopora apiculata, Sonneratia alba, Brugueira gymnorhiza, dan Lumnitzera litorea yang ditemukan pada ke 3 stasiun. Nilai kerapatan jenis tertinggi adalah Rhizopora apiculata, pada stasiun 1. Frekuensi tertinggi oleh jenis Rhizopora apiculata, dan Brugueira gymnorhiza pada stasiun 1 dengan nilai yang sama yaitu 39,29. Penutupan tertinggi oleh jenis Rhizopora apiculata pada stasiun 1 dengan nilai 49,73 dan yang terendah oleh jenis S. alba  14,17 sedangkan indeks nilai penting tertinggi oleh jenis Rhizopora apiculata 147,99 dan terendah yaitu Sonneratia alba 40,54. Keanekaragaman tertinggi pada stasiun 2, dan terendah pada stasiun 1, kseseragaman tertinggi pada stasiun 2 sedangkan dominasi tertinggi terdapat pada stasiun dan yang terendah pada stasiun 2.
