Abstract

          The purpose of this study was to obtain the crude extract of Holothuria atra, test its antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Bacillus megaterium strains using the disc diffusion method (Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion), test the anti-UV of Holothuria atra extract taken from Tongkaina Waters, Bunaken District, Manado City. Antibacterial testing was carried out with several different concentrations, from the results of antibacterial testing carried out the average inhibition zone on E. coli bacteria with 100,000 ppm the average inhibition zone was (9.67 mm), for 50,000 ppm the average inhibition zone was (8 mm), from B. megaterium bacteria known to have H.a 100,000 ppm producing an average inhibition zone (9.67 mm), H.a 50,000 ppm an average inhibition zone of (8.67 mm). The results of the anti-UV test for Holothuria atra extract showed absorption in UV-C at λ 210 nm with the highest absorbance value of 2.774. Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan ekstrak kasar Holothuria atra, menguji aktivitas antibakteri terhadap strain Escherichia coli dan Bacillus megaterium dengan metode difusi agar (disc diffusion Kirby-Bauer), menguji anti-UV dari ekstrak Holothuria atra yang diambil dari Perairan Tongkaina Kecamatan Bunaken Kota Manado. Pengujian antibakteri dilakukan dengan beberapa konsentrasi yang berbeda, dari hasil pengujian antibakteri yang dilakukan rerata zona hambat pada bakteri E. coli dengan 100.000 ppm rerata zona hambat sebesar (9,67 mm), untuk 50.000 ppm rerata zona hambat sebesar (8 mm), dari bakteri B. Megaterium diketahui H.a 100.000 ppm menghasilkan rerata zona hambat (9,67 mm), H.a 50.000 ppm rerata zona hambat sebesar (8,67 mm). Untuk hasil pengujian anti-UV ekstrak Holothuria atra menunjukkan serapan pada UV-C pada λ 210 nm dengan nilai absorban tertinggi 2,774. Abstract

Spons are primitive living settled animals that are filter feeders. These animals are commonly found in tropical and subtropical waters, ranging from the intertidal zone to the subtidal. The aim of this study is to know the diversity of species and the content of bioactive sponges. Sponge data collection: ecological index, species composition, and density of sponge as well as knowledge of the study of bioactive sponge using the library study of the research carried out and using the scientific article of the last 10 years, from 2013 to 2023. The study used the transect belt method that has been modified. From the use of the method, 17 Families were obtained, 48 individuals at a depth of 7 m and 118 individuals at 14 m. Based on the results of this study showed that the index of diversity obtained from the analysis results belonged to the average in 7 m and 14 m. Distribution patterns obtained from data analysis results obtain the distribution pattern at a depth of 7 m grouping 5 families, uniform 5 families, and random 1 family. At a depth of 14 m, the most spread pattern is the uniform spread of 10 families, and the spread model groups 4 families. The index of diversity obtained from the results of data analysis is high (stable). The composition of the species obtained from the results of the analysis showed the highest species of sponges at a depth of 7 m was 33.33%, the highest species at a deep of 14 m is 33.90%, and the composition type of the lowest sponge depth 7 m is 0%, the lower species on a deep 14 m was 11.86%. The highest value of spongy density at a depth of 7 meters is 2.44 ind/m² and the lowest is 0.15 ind/m², whereas, at depths of 14 meters, the highest values are 3.16 ind/m² and lower is 0.08 ind/m² and a library study of the bioactive content received 27 articles related to the family obtaining at the research site and in teluk manado. Keywords: Diversity, Sponge, Kinamang Beach, Bioactive Content Abstrak  Spons merupakan hewan primitif yang hidup menetap yang bersifat filter feeder (menyaring). Hewan ini sangat umum dijumpai di perairan tropis dan sub tropis, sebarannya mulai dari zona intertidal hingga zona subtidal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis dan kandungan bioaktif spons. Pengambilan data spons : indeks ekologi, komposisi jenis dan kepadatan spons serta mengetahui kajian mengenai bioaktif spons dengan menggunakan studi pustaka dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan dan menggunakan artikel ilmiah 10 tahun terakhir tahun 2013 sampai 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode belt transek yang telah dimodifikasi. Dari pengunaan metode tersebut diperoleh 17 Famili, 48 individu pada kedalaman 7 m dan 118 individu pada kedalaman 14 m. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa indeks keanekaragaman yang diperoleh dari hasil analisis tergolong sedang pada kedalam 7 m dan 14 m. Pola Sebaran yang diperoleh dari hasil analisis data didapatkan pola sebaran pada kedalaman 7 m pola sebaran mengelompok 5 famili, pola sebaran seragam 5 famili,dan pola sebaran acak 1 famili. Sedangkan pada kedalaman 14 m pola sebaran terbanyak yaitu, pola sebaran seragam 10 famili, dan pola sebaran mengelompok 4 famili. Indeks keseragaman yang diperoleh dari hasil analisis data yaitu tergolong tinggi (stabil). Komposisi jenis yang diperoleh dari hasil analisis menunjukkan jenis spons tertinggi pada kedalaman 7 m yaitu 33,33 %, jenis spons tertinggi pada kedalaman 14 m yaitu 33,90 %, dan komposisi jenis spons terendah kedalaman 7 m yaitu 0 %,jenis spons terendah pada kedalaman 14 m yaitu 11,86 %. Nilai kepadatan spons tertinggi pada kedalaman 7 m yaitu 2,44 ind/m² dan terendah yaitu 0,15 ind/m², sedangkan pada kedalaman 14 meter dengan nilai tertinggi yaitu 3,16 ind/m² dan terendah yaitu 0,08 ind/m² dan studi pustaka mengenai kandungan bioaktif yang didapatkan 27 artikel yang berkaitan dengan famili yang didapatkan di lokasi penelitian dan di teluk manado. Abstract

This study aims to determine the magnitude of the sedimentation rate and the prediction of sediment transport in Binebas Bay as the scope of the Bowone people's mine run-off disposal area, as well as the socio-economic impacts on the community and especially for fishermen. Sediment diameter measurements were carried out by taking sediment samples at each station using a sediment trap. Sediment traps made of pipes will be installed at each station and the height of the sediment will be measured using a ruler every 2 weeks for 3 months. The research data were analyzed using the comparative method, namely the results of measuring the sediment rate in the field compared to the calculation results according to Engelund. The sediment rate in the waters of Binebas Bay which is close to the people's mining in Bowone Village is 0,058943 m3/year. Sediment transport in the waters of Binebas Bay is  m3/m*s. Sedimentation is still relatively low (small) in the waters of Binebas Bay. Socially, people's mining activities in Kampung Bowone have a positive impact where there is the availability of employment opportunities for the community. Economically, people's mining activities increase people's income. However, the negative impact is environmental damage. Keywords: sediment transport; socio-economic impact; people's mine; Bowone village; Sangihe Islands Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui besarnya laju sedimentasi dan prediksi transport sedimen di Teluk Binebas sebagai lingkup wilayah buangan run-off tambang rakyat Bowone, serta dampak sosial ekonomi bagi masyarakat dan khususnya bagi nelayan. Diameter sedimen diukur dengan mengambil sampel di tiap Stasiun. Perangkap sedimen dibuat dari pipa dan diukur tinggi sedimennya tiap 2 minggu  selama 3 bulan. Data penelitian dianalisis kemudian dilakukan komparasi antara hasil pengukuran laju sedimentasi di lapangan dengan hasil perhitungan transportasi sedimen menurut Metode Engelund. Laju sedimen di perairan Teluk Binebas yang dekat dengan pertambangan rakyat Kampung Bowone yaitu sebesar 0,058943 m3/ tahun. Transpor sedimen di perairan Teluk Binebas yaitu  m3/m*s. Sedimentasi masih tergolong rendah (kecil) di perairan Teluk Binebas. Secara sosial, kegiatan pertambangan rakyat di Kampung Bowone memberikan dampak yang positif dimana terdapat ketersediaan lapangan kerja bagi masyarakat. Secara ekonomi, kegiatan pertambangan rakyat meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat. Namun, dampak negatifnya adalah kerusakan lingkungan. Abstract

Mangrove fruit (Rhizophora mucronata Lamk.) has a good bioactive and antioxidant compound.  Mangrove fruits are usually extracted with methanol solvent and thus it’s necessary to investigate the influence of different solvents on their antioxidant activity. The purpose of this research was to study the effect of solvent polarity on the antioxidant activity of mangrove fruit extract. The solvent used was n-hexane (nonpolar), ethyl acetate (semi-polar), and methanol (polar). Antioxidant activity was measured by the DPPH method. The polarity of the solvents significantly affected the IC50 values of mangrove fruit extract. IC50 values from n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol extracts were 354,83 ppm, 120,19 ppm, and 58,61 ppm respectively. The crude extract (methanol) can inhibit fat oxidation and achieve the best peroxide number of 3.00 mEq/kg oil, which was lowered at a concentration of 31.25 ppm.  Methanol extract and Ethyl acetate contained bioactive compounds such as alkaloids, steroids, flavonoids, phenols hydroquinone, and, tannins. N-hexane extract had steroids. The best solvent to produce the highest antioxidant activity and inhibit peroxide was methanol. Keywords: Bioactive compound, mangrove fruit, polarity Abstrak Buah Bakau (Rhizophora mucronata Lamk.) memiliki komponen bioaktif dan aktivitas antioksidan yang baik. Umumnya buah bakau diekstrak dengan menggunakan metanol, sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan pelarut terhadap aktivitas antioksidan buah bakau. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan aktivitas antioksidan dari buah bakau dengan metode DPPH yang diekstraksi dengan tiga macam pelarut berbeda yaitu, n-heksana (nonpolar), etil asetat (semi polar) dan metanol (polar). Nilai IC50 ekstrak kasar buah bakau dipengaruhi secara signifikan oleh tingkat kepolaran pelarut.  Nilai IC50 dari ekstrak kasar n-heksana sebesar 354,83 ppm, ekstrak kasar etil asetat sebesar 120,19 ppm dan ekstrak kasar metanol sebesar 58,61 ppm. Ekstrak kasar (metanol) dapat menghambat oksidasi lemak dan menghasilkan nilai bilangan peroksida terbaik sebesar 3,00 Meq/Kg minyak yang dapat diturunkan pada konsentrasi 31,25 ppm. Ekstrak kasar metanol dan etil asetat mengandung komponen bioaktif alkaloid, steroid, flavonoid, fenol hidrokuinon dan tannin. Ekstrak kasar n-heksana mengandung komponen bioaktif yaitu steroid. Pelarut terbaik yang dapat menghasilkan aktivitas antioksidan tertinggi serta dapat menghambat bilangan peroksida terbaik adalah metanol. Kata kunci: komponen bioaktif, Buah bakau, kepolaran.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the phytochemical content such as phenolics, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, steroids, and triterpenoids found in the seaweed G. verrucosa. Seaweed G. verrucosa taken from the waters of North Sulawesi, Nain Village, North Minahasa, was extracted by maceration for 24 hours at room temperature, repeated 3 times using 96% ethanol solvent. The analysis in this study consisted of seven test parameters such as phenolic compounds, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, steroids, triterpenoids, and alkaloids. The results of the analysis showed that the secondary metabolites of G. verrucosa contained phytochemical compounds such as phenols, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, steroids, and alkaloids, and no triterpenoid compounds were found. It was concluded that G. verrucosa which grows in the waters of North Sulawesi, Nain Village, can function as functional food, and medicine because it has natural bioactive compounds. Keywords: Phytochemical content, Gracilaria verrucosa, secondary metabolites Abstrak Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui kandungan fitokimia seperti fenol, flavanoid, tanin, saponin, alkaloid, steroid, dan triterpenoid yang terdapat pada rumput laut G. verrucosa.  Senyawa metabolit sekunder yang umum terdapat pada tanaman adalah senyawa terpenoid, alkaloid, fenolik, streroid, saponin, tannin. Rumput laut G. verrucosa yang di ambil dari perairan Sulawesi Utara Desa Nain Minahasa Utara di ekstraksi dengan cara maserasi selama 24 jam pada suhu ruang di ulangi sebanyak 3 kali menggunakan pelarut etanol 96 %. Analisis pada penelitian ini terdiri dari tujuh parameter pengujian seperti senyawa fenol, flavonoid, tanin, saponin, steroid, triterpenoid dan alkaloid. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa kandungan metabolit sekunder dari G. verrucosa mengandung senyawa fitokimia seperti fenol, flavonoid, tanin, saponin, steroid, alkaloid dan tidak ditemukan adanya senyawa triterpenoid. Hal ini disimpulkan bahwa G. verrucosa yang tumbuh di perairan Sulawesi utara Desa Nain dapat berfungsi sebagai pangan fungsional, obat-obatan karena memiliki senyawa bioaktif alami. Abstract

The existence of the waters around the city of Bitung with all its intensive utilization makes information regarding tidal conditions very important to continue to study. In the waters around Bitung City, there are two tidal measurement stations, the BMKG station, and the IOC station. This research was conducted to analyze the accuracy of tide prediction results based on measurement data at two tide stations located in the waters around Bitung City. The research was conducted by applying the least squares method to calculate the amplitude and phase of the tidal harmonic constants, followed by predicting tidal data. The result was that the most accurate predictions were obtained through a study of tidal data from IOC measurement stations in March–April 2021 with an average deviation of 4.35 cm. However, tide predictions using BMKG measurement station data are more consistent with an average deviation of ± 5 cm, compared to the average deviation of tide predictions from IOC measuring stations which vary from 4.35 – 27.67 cm. Keywords: Tidal prediction, Tidal constants, Tidal amplitude, Mean sea level Abstrak Keberadaan perairan sekitar Kota Bitung dengan semua pemanfaatan intensifnya menyebabkan informasi menyangkut kondisi pasang surut sangat penting untuk terus dikaji.  Di perairan sekitar Kota Bitung terdapat dua stasiun pengukuran pasang surut, yaitu stasiun BMKG dan stasiun IOC.  Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan menganalisis akurasi hasil prediksi  pasut berdasarkan data hasil pengukuran di dua stasiun pasut yang berlokasi di perairan sekitar Kota Bitung. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menerapkan metode kuadrat terkecil untuk menghitung amplitudo dan fase konstanta harmonik pasang surut, dilanjutkan dengan melakukan prediksi data pasut. Hasilnya diperoleh bahwa prediksi yang paling akurat diperoleh melalui kajian data pasut stasiun pengukuran IOC pada bulan Maret–April 2021 dengan deviasi rata-rata sebesar 4,35 cm.  Walaupun demikian prediksi pasut menggunakan data stasiun pengukuran BMKG lebih konsisten dengan deviasi rata-rata ± 5 cm, dibandingkan dengan deviasi rata-rata prediksi pasut stasiun pengukuran IOC yang bervariasi dari 4,35 – 27,67 cm. Abstract

Current is a process of mass transfer of seawater that moves from one place to another continuously or occurs continuously. The current generation factor on the surface of the water is caused by two things, namely the wind and the movement of the rise and fall of sea level. The Lembeh Strait is an Archipelago Port Area and a hub port in Kawasan Timur Indonesia (KTI), as well as an area with local transportation routes for the community. For this reason, it is necessary to research to obtain information about the characteristics and patterns of currents that occur in the Lembeh Strait. This research was conducted using a database of currents and tide data over the period from 2021 to 2022. The research method used is quantitative. Data sources were taken from Badan Meteorologi Klimatologi dan Geofisika (BMKG) Stasiun Maritim Bitung and the Copernicus Marine Service website. These data were analyzed using methods that fit the needs of the data. Flow and Tidal data were analyzed using WRPLOT View, Ocean Data View, Microsoft Excel, and Origin Pro. The results of data processing show the direction and speed of the current as well as the relationship between the tides and currents in the waters of the Lembeh Strait. The scatter plot of currents on the surface layer of the sea is elliptical, this indicates that the currents that dominate in these waters are tidal. So the results of the study show that ocean currents in the Lembeh Strait have current characteristics that are dominantly influenced by tides and the dominant current direction is formed in 2021 and 2022 towards the Southwest and Northeast. Abstrak Arus merupakan proses pergerakan massa air laut yang berpindah dari satu tempat ke tempat lain secara kontinu atau terjadi secara terus-menerus. Faktor pembangkit arus di permukaan air disebabkan oleh dua hal yaitu angin dan pergerakan naik turunnya permukaan air laut. Selat Lembeh merupakan Kawasan Pelabuhan Nusantara dan sebagai salah satu hub port di kawasan Timur Indonesia (KTI), serta sebagai kawasan dengan alur transportasi lokal bagi masyarakat. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan penelitian guna mendapatkan informasi tentang karakteristik dan pola arus yang terjadi di Selat Lembeh.  Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan basis data arus dan data pasang surut selang periode waktu dari tahun 2021 sampai dengan tahun 2022.  Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif. Sumber data diambil dari instansi Badan Meteorologi Klimatologi dan Geofisika (BMKG) Stasiun Maritim Bitung dan dari Website Copernicus Marine Service. Data-data tersebut di analisis menggunakan metode yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan data. Data Arus dan Pasang Surut dianalisis menggunakan WRPLOT View, Ocean Data View, Microsoft Excel, dan Origin Pro. Hasil pengolahan data menunjukan arah dan kecepatan arus serta hubungan antara pasang surut dan arus di perairan Selat Lembeh. Scatter plot arus pada lapisan permukaan laut memiliki bentuk ellips, ini menunjukkan bahwa arus yang mendominasi di perairan tersebut adalah arus pasang surut. Sehingga hasil penelitian menunjukan arus laut di Selat Lembeh memiliki karakteristik arah arus dominan dipengaruhi oleh pasang surut dan diperoleh arah arus dominan terbentuk di tahun 2021 dan tahun 2022 menuju ke arah Barat Daya dan Timur Laut. Abstract

The objective of this research is to formulate strategies for the sustainable use of the seagrass ecosystem in the coastal area around Borgo Village, Belang District, Southeast Minahasa Regency as a public policy recommendation that can be given to the local regional government. The research method is a survey method with an interview technique using a questionnaire addressed to the heads of relevant agencies as resource persons.  The formulation of priority strategies is analyzed through the following stages: 1) Establishing the vision, mission, and values ​of the organization, 3) Analysis of the strategic environment, 4) Analysis of the final conclusions of internal and external factors, 5) SWOT analysis matrix, and (6) Determining critical success factors through strategic choice analysis. The research results obtained 6 priority strategies, namely: 1) Make academic papers as a data base on: a) coastal and marine resource profiles, b) social, economic and cultural data, and c) legal data and community institutions in the region the coast of Borgo Village and its surroundings; 2) Carry out technical guidance, counseling and outreach to the coastal communities of Borgo Village and its surroundings; 3) Provide guidance to fishermen and input to the government of Southeast Minahasa Regency so that the seagrass ecosystem area on the coast of Borgo Village and its surroundings is not used as a boat mooring location and a location for disposal of marine debris or household waste; 4) Make standard operational procedures on boat moorings, disposal of marine debris, household waste, and marine conservation techniques for the coastal communities of Borgo Village and its surroundings; 5) Empowerment of fishermen or coastal communities in Borgo Village and its surroundings in order to carry out the task of supervising and monitoring coastal and marine resources, as well as fostering the quality and processing of fishery products; and 6) Make a spatial plan for the Minapolitan area in the coastal area of Belang Regency based on Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2017 of North Sulawesi Province. Keywords: Borgo Village, seagrass ecosystem, sustainable use, priority strategy Abstrak Tujuan penelitian adalah merumuskan strategi pemanfaatan berkelanjutan ekosistem padang lamun di pesisir sekitar Desa Borgo, Kecamatan Belang, Kabupaten Minahasa Tenggara sebagai rekomendasi kebijakan publik untuk diberikan kepada Pemerintah Daerah setempat.  Metode penelitian adalah metode survei dengan teknik wawancara menggunakan kuesioner ditujukan kepada pimpinan instansi terkait sebagai narasumber.  Perumusan strategi prioritas dianalisis melalui tahapan: 1) Menetapkan visi, misi dan nilai organisasi, 3) Analisis lingkungan strategis, 4) Analisis kesimpulan akhir faktor internal dan eksternal, 5) Matriks analisis SWOT, dan (6) Menetapkan faktor-faktor kunci keberhasilan melalui analisis pilihan strategis.  Hasil penelitian diperoleh 6 strategi prioritas, yaitu: 1) Membuat naskah akademik sebagai database tentang: a) profil sumber daya pesisir dan laut, b) data sosial, ekonomi dan budaya, dan c) data hukum dan kelembagaan masyarakat di pesisir Desa Borgo dan sekitarnya; 2) Melaksanakan bimbingan teknis, penyuluhan dan sosialisasi kepada masyarakat pesisir Desa Borgo dan sekitarnya; 3) Memberikan pembinaan kepada nelayan dan masukan kepada Pemerintah Kab. Minahasa Tenggara, agar di area ekosistim lamun pesisir Desa Borgo dan sekitarnya tidak dijadikan lokasi penambatan perahu dan tempat pembuangan sampah laut atau limbah rumah tangga; 4) Membuat SOP tentang tambatan perahu, tempat pembuangan sampah laut dan limbah rumah tangga, dan teknis konservasi laut kepada masyarakat pesisir Desa Borgo dan sekitarnya; 5) Memberdayakan nelayan atau masyarakat pesisir Desa Borgo dan sekitarnya dalam rangka melaksanakan tugas pengawasan dan pemantauan sumber daya pesisir dan laut, serta pembinaan mutu dan pengolahan hasil perikanan; dan 6) Membuat perencanaan penataan ruang di kawasan Minapolitan wilayah pesisir Belang berdasarkan Perda No. 1 Tahun 2017 Prov. Abstract

Mangrove forests in Desa Bakau, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan play an important role as a habitat for various types of aquatic biota, one of them being gastropods. Gastropods are reported to have a wide distribution in both inland and marine waters. Local people catch them for sale and consumption. An inventory of gastropod species in the mangrove area of Desa Bakau can provide initial information regarding the diversity of existing species. This data can be used as a database for sustainable management and utilization of natural resources. The purpose of this study was to identify the species of gastropods in the mangrove of Desa Bakau, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan. This study used the exploratory method of collecting gastropods at the observation station. The results found 5 types of gastropods in Desa Bakau, such as Cassidula, Ellobium, Cerithidea, Littoraria, and Pirenella. Gastropoda dilaporkan memiliki distribusi luas baik di perairan darat maupun laut. Masyarakat setempat melakukan penangkapan untuk dijual dan dikonsumsi. Inventarisasi jenis gastropoda yang ada di area mangrove Desa Bakau dapat menjadi informasi awal mengenai keanekaragaman jenis yang ada. Data tersebut dapat digunakan sebagai database dalam pengelolaan berkelanjutan serta pemanfaatan sumberdaya alam yang ada. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi jenis gastropoda di area mangrove Desa Bakau, Kabupaten Sambas, Kalimantan Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksplorasi dengan mengambil gastropoda yang ada di stasiun pengamatan. Abstract

Mangrove vegetation has a wide range of distribution on the Indonesian coast, including Pemangkat, Sambas Regency, and West Kalimantan. Near this area, there are various activities, such as industrial, fishing, and shipping which are possible sources of heavy metal pollution. Water pollution caused by heavy metals is one of the serious problems. This condition can reduce water quality and has an impact on aquatic organisms. Monitoring of water quality needs to be done to reduce health problems and maintain the stability of aquatic ecosystems. Mudskipper (Boleophthalmus sp.) can be used as a bioindicator due to its ability to accumulate heavy metals from the environment, especially in mangrove areas. Heavy metal such as cadmium (Cd) is difficult to decompose and toxic to the environment and biota. This heavy metal pollution may originate from port and fisheries activities. The aim of this study was to determine the Cd content in the Mudskipper, waters, and sediment samples. Sampling was carried out at two stations. Analysis of the Cd content was done using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). The result showed that concentrations of Cd in the waters and sediment samples were above the threshold. Meanwhile, the Cd level in Mudskipper flesh was still below the maximum limit. Keywords: heavy metal, cadmium (Cd), mudskipper, Pemangkat, West Kalimantan
