Abstract

Online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic experienced several obstacles, one of which students have difficulty following asynchronous learning. The purpose of research to analyze the need for the development of the thematic e-module based on SAVI approach with the assistant of the Sway application. This research is a RD 4D model development which is limited to define stage. Research Respondents are 29 Grade 5 teachers in Bendosari District, Sukoharjo District selected by Stratified Random Sampling. The time of preparation was conducted in November 2021 to March 2022. Data was taken through questionnaires, interviews, and literature studies. Test valuation of data using credibility test and confirmability test. Technique of data analysis are using Miles and Huberman model consisting of data reduction, display data, and conclusion / verification. Based on the results of data analysis in the concerned there is a need for the development of thematic e-module with SWAY-assisted SAVI approach to accommodate various student learning styles: Somatis, Audio, Visual, and Intellectual as an alternative of asynchronous learning.

Abstract

Specifically, the purpose of this research was to explore information, regarding the implementation of the Recitation Method in Civics learning on 10th IPS1 grade students, and improving students’ learning outcomes on 10th IPS1 grade students by applying the Recitation Method. This research used classroom action research method, conducted in two cycles, each cycle consist of one meeting. The research subjects were the students of 10th IPS1 grade students  of SMA Negeri 4 Kubu Raya with simple random sampling technique. The research data collection used were observation sheets, objective tests and material summary assignments. Observation sheets used to collect data on the application of the Recitation Method in Civics learning, assignment assessment results sheets and objective tests also used to collect data on students’ learning outcomes. The research data was processed by using descriptive statistics. The results shows improvements in students’ learning outcomes by applying the Recitation Method in the percentage of 25%, based from the learning outcomes results of students who had met the Minimum Achievement Criteria. Therefore, the Recitation Method is able to be used as an effective solution for teachers in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to know the utilization of management information systems through android application by teachers and students in ensuring the academic quality of the institution. The analysis used is qualitative approach that is by interpreting data interactively and continuously. Research data collection is done by interview, observation and document study. This research found that with the android application it can guarantee academic quality and make it easier for teachers and students to obtain academic information with a simpler system including attendance, evaluation, discussion and delivery of material. However, not all student attitudes can be observed through this application. This system is relatively new and needs further development in order to provide maximum benefits in an effort to ensure the academic quality of the institution.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to determine the relationship between independent and dependent variables. To investigate the impact of the story face strategy and the concept mapping strategy on second grade students' reading comprehension at senior high school. This is an experimental study with a pre test and post test design. The research sample consisted of second grade students (2 Sains classes) during the academic year 2018/2019, and the purposive sampling technique was used. The effect of Story Face Strategy and Concept Mapping Strategy toward reading comprehension based on the data indicates that there was significant effect between data in pre-test and data taken from post-test of the students' achievement. The value of the test was highly significant showed as 19.088 and the t-table was showed as 2.093. The value score of t-test was quite higher than the t-table (19.088 2.093). It is concluded that the Story Face Strategy and Concept Mapping Strategy are effective in teaching reading skill to senior high school second grade students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a mathematical assessment instrument for senior high school students based on higher order thinking skills (HOTS). This research is development research that aims to develop a valid, practical and effective HOTS assessment instrument. The development model used is the Tessmer’s model. There are five steps applied in this study, namely preliminary, self-evaluation, expert review, one-to-one and small group and field testing.  The research findings explained that each item met the validity of content (content), construct, and language. Content validity is the compatibility between the questions and the indicators that have been set for each material. Fulfilling construct validity refers to the instrument measured by the HOTS concept. It met the validity of the language because the sentence structure in the question followed the correct Indonesian language rules and did not contain double meanings or ambiguity. Therefore, this item is appropriate to be used as an alternative teaching material for students to develop their higher-order thinking skills, especially in the material about flat-plane analytical geometry.

Abstract

The Community Learning Activity Center, or PKBM, is one of the institutions that contribute to the review and development of community-based education. Community-based education attempts to understand and identify needs and how to meet them while considering the community’s capabilities. As such, this study seeks to explain the community activity center’s role as a centre for community empowerment to increase community independence. The method used in this study is a literature study with the obtained data from articles published in national journals. The results show that many PKBMs are not optimal for educational activities due to various problems. Appropriate empowerment strategies are needed to create an independent community more quickly. Besides that, it is also necessary to have competent PKBM management with technical capabilities in education and community empowerment and innovative empowerment programs so that the implementation can be successful.

Abstract

Learning will be effective if the teacher understands the needs of learning well. The purpose of this study was to explore the needs of teachers in literacy learning on reading comprehension competence in elementary schools. The method used in this research is exploratory qualitative which was conducted at the State Elementary School in Central Magelang Sub-District, Magelang City, Central Java Province, Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that there are several problems in literacy learning of reading comprehension competence so teachers need several learning innovations as solutions, namely in the learning model by combining problem-based learning models with the SQ3R model, in teaching materials by developing integrated teaching materials with innovative learning models, and on the assessment instrument by developing an assessment instrument oriented towards high order thinking skills (HOTS). The results of this needs analysis will be used to conduct further research as a form of literacy learning innovation in reading comprehension competence.

Abstract

Implemented knowledge management (KM) in universities is currently a significant and interesting topic to be discussed since universities’ human resource possess knowledge. Ultimately, knowledge management is essential in order to increase university lecturers’ performance. Knowledge management must be supported by leadership and organization culture that would support each process of KM, which includes knowledge creation, knowledge transfer and utilization of knowledge. This study tested a model that shows the influence between KM, job performance, leadership, and organizational culture. This study collected sample from 150 lecturer respondents in seven universities in Bandung using random sampling. We analyze the variables (leadership, organizational culture, KM, and job performance) from questionnaire using Structured Equation Modelling (SEM). Research results have shown that the relationship between leadership and KM has a positive and significant impact, that the relationship between organizational culture and KM has a positive and significant impact, that leadership and job performance have a positive and significant impact, that organizational culture and job performance have a positive and significant impact, and there is a positive and significant influence between KM and job performance. This study concludes leadership, organizational culture, KM, and job performance in universities in Bandung are included in positive category. There are significant and positive influences on variables analyzed.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the motivations of learning students of the Faculty of Christian Education who follow limited face-to-face learning. This research uses quantitative research methods with a form of true experimental design, namely Posttest-Only Control Design. The population in the study was 329 students in semester 1 and semester 3 at the Faculty of Christian Education, which was divided into experimental classes and control classes. Calculation of sample numbers using Issac and Michael formulas, sample numbers in the experimental class of 128 students, and control classes of 103 students were randomly selected. The research instrument uses a questionnaire, consisting of 26 items developed based on Marx and Tombuch's theory of motivation to study. Data is shared with students online through the Google Form platform. The data that has been collected is statistically tested: the normality test, the homogeneity test, and the Mann-Whitney U-test test. The results showed that the Value of the Mann-Whitney U-test was 4849.500, and the signification value was 0.001, which is less than 0.05 (P 0.05). The results show that there are differences in the learning motivation of students who take part in limited face-to-face lectures, whereas students who take limited face-to-face lectures have higher motivation.
