Abstract

This research aims to produce a model of strengthening character education in university. This study's substance problem is students' bad behavior, so it requires a more comprehensive model of supporting character education. The research used a mix-method. It is a combination of qualitative methods and quantitative methods. The qualitative research instrument uses the researcher himself as the main instrument, while the quantitative tool uses a validated questionnaire. Qualitative research uses purposive sampling and random sampling techniques for quantitative research data collection techniques using interviews, observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The qualitative data analysis stages were carried out by starting to reduce data, display data, and verify data. The research results on the integration model of character education development developed at the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar are integrated with moral integrations, namely knowing, feeling, sinverbal, action, habitus, and culture (KFSAHC) to prevent violations of character values.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to provide information about the standards of the learning process, socialize the standards of the learning process and inform about the implementation of the standard implementation of the learning process for high school teachers in Bandar Lampung. This Research used Qualitative research method.  To collect data, the researcher uses observation sheets and documentation. The data analysis technique in this research is using qualitative data analysis. This school action research was designed in two cycles, which consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data obtained from observations, documentation and portfolios were analyzed in the form of descriptions. The results shows there was a significant increase in each cycle. In some conditions the average value was 59.44 and included in enough category. In the first cycle the average value was 69.72 and was still included in the enough category, while in the first cycle secondly, the average acquisition value was 85.29 and it is still in the good category. From the explanation of the results of the assessment of the 4 aspects of the Implementation of the Learning Activity Process Standards, it shows that in the second cycle all results fall into the good criteria, so it can be concluded that the implementation of school action research is declared complete in the second cycle.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of project-based learning with YouTube presentations as a final project on the cognitive domain online learning outcomes in English for Physics subjects. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. The design of the study was post-test with a non-equivalent design. The populations of this study were the fourth-semester students of Physics Tadris, which amounted to 32 people. The samples were taken by using the saturated sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was 20 multiple-choice questions. in analyzing the data, the researcher used the t-test and correlation test (phi (Φ) test) with a significance level of α = 0,05. The results of the t-test show that there is a difference in learning achievement where the experimental class is better than the control class. Then from the results of the correlation test (phi test (Φ)) shows that project-based learning with YouTube achievement as a final project has a significant effect on the cognitive domain.

Abstract

This study aims to develop website-based interactive learning media in the vocational school. This research is a type of R and D research using the Four-D model, namely: define, design, develop, and dissemination. The data used are primary, namely data directly from the source, including experts as validators, educators, and students. Data collection was carried out through tests, questionnaires, and interviews. The data analysis used was referential statistical analysis to test the validity of the data, practicality, and effectiveness. This study indicates that this website-based interactive learning media is valid, practical, and effectively used as a learning media. Based on the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of test results, website-based interactive learning media can be developed, which can be a renewal in overcoming learning difficulties of students of SMKN 2 Padang on computer and basic network subjects. Therefore, it can be concluded that the learning process and outcomes can be improved through website-based interactive learning media.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the implementation of internal quality assurance of madrasah Aliyah Amanatul Ummah International Standard to improve the quality of education as one of the international-based madrasah. There were 30 participants involved in this study, of consisted of 1 kiai, 1 madrasah head, 1 deputy coordinator of madrasah, 27 teachers (ustads). They were selected by using purposive sampling. This research was a case study research design with a single case study model in qualitative research. The qualitative data were collected by using observation, documents and interviews. The data analysis technique used three activity flows that occurred simultaneously, namely, l) data reduction; 2) data display, and 3) concluding/verification. The results of data analysis indicated that the quality assurance process has an orderly flow by Standard Operating Procedures. The process started from setting evaluation standards, implementing evaluations, monitoring, self-evaluation, auditing internal academic quality as a whole, formulating corrections, and improving quality. This cycle was carried out continuously. Quality assurance improved the quality of Islamic education. It had a positive impact on sustainable quality assurance and the commitment of stakeholders to achieve quality education

Abstract

This research aims to describe senior high school students’ perspectives about the use of learning media in English language teaching context and to investigate the sorts of interactive and educative learning media in English language teaching. This research worked on descriptive research design, both qualitative and quantitative data were collected through a questionnaire. This study involved 171 senior high school students who voluntary filled in the questionnaire. The research findings reveal that the use of learning media to support learning process needs to be improved since the media used needs to be adjusted with the current trend of learning that is technology-based learning media. In addition, Powerpoint slides, video, film, online or traditional games were found as interactive and educative learning media from the students’ perspectives. The students are excited when the teachers are presenting media in their learning process, even though it only simply presented through Powerpoint. In other words, learning media has an essential role to support effective learning atmosphere for the students.

Abstract

Motivation for Instructors at work is an incentive to move the spirit of teachers in such a way that their conduct can be oriented toward genuine attempts to attain the goals that have been established. As a result, the purpose of this study is to examine whether the leadership style, salary, and physical work environment of high school Economics instructors in Subang Regency have an impact on their work motivation. The sampling technique utilized in this study was a saturated sample technique, which meant that all members of the population were sampled, with a total of 221 teachers. Based on the findings of a multiple linear regression analysis performed with the SPSS 21 software package. This study's findings indicate a positive and statistically significant relationship between leadership style, remuneration, and physical work environment and the job motivation of high school Economics teachers in Subang Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a contextual mathematics learning video based on semiotics that supports learning from home. This type of research is development research using a 4-D model, which is modified into three stages, namely define, design, and develop. The research subjects were grade 6th elementary school students in Tuban, East Java. In the defined stage, a needs analysis is carried out as a reference for development. The design stage produces research instruments and instructional video designs. The development stage states that based on the results of the validation of media experts by 85% and material experts by 87%, each of which comes from 21 points of assessment indicators, it shows that it meets the valid criteria as well as positive responses of 85.3% of 28 students. The right-hand t-test obtained t-count t-table, namely 3.886 1.675. It indicates that the learning outcomes of students who use semiotic-based contextual mathematics learning videos on the perimeter of circle material are better than students who do not use them. This learning video has reached effective criteria.

Abstract

This mixed-method research used questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and open-ended questions as the instrument of data collection.  Twenty-five samples were selected randomly from 112 populations. The objectives of the study were to explore online reading strategies in academic reading by foreign language learners during the Covid 19 outbreak. This study revealed that: Using online reading strategies by foreign language learners were varied in four different types, namely global strategy, problem-solving strategy, support strategy, and soci0-effective strategy. Motivation influenced foreign language learners' online reading strategies for  13.65%  in academic reading during the Covid 19 outbreak; meanwhile, age and gender influenced less. Motivation influenced online reading strategies used by foreign language learners during the Covid 19 outbreak for two purposes: integrated and instrumental motivations. These two types of motivation influenced the choices and use of learners' online reading strategies during the Covid 19 outbreak.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are included in the ten skills needed in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. Students are trained to be able to analyze problems and find solutions from various sources. To enhance the critical thinking skills of students, activities that can be developed are needed, namely through authentic learning, one of which is designing an eco-brick social campaign to overcome plastic waste. Authentic learning activities are in the form of real-world relevance, multiple sources and perspectives, collaboration, reflection, ill-defined problems, and sustained investigation. The quasi-experimental method was used in this study, with the research subjects being 62 students in one of the East Jakarta Junior High Schools in grades 7F and 7H. The data analysis technique in this study was to analyse the results of validity, normality, homogeneity, and independent t-test using SPSS 20 as a statistical tool. According to the research results, it was found that the difference in the average critical thinking ability between groups of students, experiment class with authentic learning treatment revealed 80.73% and control class showed 70.37%. A large number of students have difficulty in critical thinking, namely in the aspect of explaining reasons. Meanwhile, in designing eco-brick social campaigns, the experimental class is in a pretty good category, so it can be revealed that students can build critical thinking skills in solving problems through authentic learning to design eco-brick social campaigns and it is suggested that the different contents in the form of authentic learning in creating social campaigns can be developed.
