Al Ishlah Jurnal Pendidikan
This journal focuses on advancing scholarly research and critical discourse in the field of education. It publishes original research articles that address contemporary issues and emerging trends in curriculum development, instructional practices, learning processes, educational policy, and teacher preparation. The journal aims to contribute to the development of educational theory and practice in both national and international contexts. The journal also welcomes submissions related to environmental education and studies that examine learning through psychological, social, cultural, cognitive, and historical perspectives. Research that explores the interrelationships among teaching, knowledge construction, learner development, and educational contexts is particularly encouraged. Furthermore, the journal accepts research and academic discussions across a broad range of subject matter within education, including mathematics education, religious education, language pedagogy and English for Specific Purposes (ESP), natural sciences, social sciences, history, chemistry, and other related educational disciplines. The journal includes the following thematic sections: Learning: Theoretical and empirical investigations concerning learning processes and their development across diverse contexts. Issues and Trends: Analytical and interpretive essays addressing current educational, social, and philosophical issues. Learning in Everyday Life: Studies of learning experiences occurring outside formal academic settings, such as in homes, communities, digital environments, and cultural institutions. Teacher Education: Research on teacher preparation, professional development, and the broader conditions shaping the teaching profession. Education Policy: Critical analyses of educational policies, their principles, implementation, and effects on educational practice. Comments and Criticism: Scholarly dialogue aimed at clarifying, challenging, or expanding upon previously published works. Book Reviews: Reviews of recent publications relevant to the field of education. The Editorial Board invites manuscripts employing rigorous quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method approaches that demonstrate academic originality and significant contribution to educational scholarship. All submissions must present a thorough review of relevant literature, articulate a clearly defined research problem or argument, and provide well-grounded conclusions addressing implications and limitations.

<![CDATA[Good leadership is one of the virtues that need to exist in an organization. In carrying out the roles, duties, and responsibilities, every leader has their leadership style. This study aims to investigate the effect of visionary leadership style on organizational commitment. The study used quantitative methods with ex post facto research. The investigation begins after the facts have already occurred, and the researchers do not control nor manipulate the variables studied. The population in this study consisted of 294 lecturers, with a sample size of 169 people. The instrument used in this research was a questionnaire. The data analysis utilized was simple linear regression analysis processed by the SPSS. Findings show that the variable visionary leadership style (X) positively influences the variable organizational commitment of private university lecturers in Banda Aceh City. The results obtained are tcount ttable or 8.741 1.974. In addition, there is a strong relationship or correlation between variables X and Y of 56% and the coefficient of determination (RSquare) of .314, indicating that there is an influence of the independent variable (visionary leadership style) on the dependent variable (organizational commitment) of 31.4%.]]>

<![CDATA[Many students are dissatisfied with using blended learning platforms. At the same time, student satisfaction with a blended learning platform can determine the quality of learning and learning outcomes. This study analyzed the direct and indirect influence between the user perception of a blended learning platform, self-efficacy, and emotional engagement on student satisfaction. This research includes quantitative research with a type of causality—grade XI students of IPS SMA 14 Negeri Surabaya as a population. A sample of 103 students was taken using saturated sample techniques. Data collection is obtained through interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis used is path analysis. The results directly influenced perceptions of the usefulness of blended learning platforms, self-efficacy, and emotional engagement on student satisfaction. The indirect influence between the perception of usefulness of platform and self-efficacy to student satisfaction through emotional engagement. ]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the relationship between leadership and organizational climate on teachers’ work motivation at vocational high school in Banda Aceh. This research uses quantitative research methods, and the data collection technique used is a questionnaire. Fifty teachers participated in this research. The analytical method used is the Pearson product-moment correlation. Based on the calculation, the relationship between leadership and teachers’ work motivation at vocational high school in Banda Aceh using the Pearson product-moment, the value of correlation coefficient = 0.539 is obtained with a significance level of p = 0.000 0.05. It means that there is a positive relationship between leadership and teachers’ work motivation. However, the relationship between organizational climate and work motivation teachers using the Pearson product-moment was -0.466. It is obtained with a significance level of p = 0.001 0.05. It implies a positive relationship between organizational climate and teachers’ work motivation.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the zoning system's application for the admission of new students and determine the efforts of schools and teachers to overcome learning difficulties as a negative impact of the application of the zoning system. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The research object was in the Junior High Schools 1, 5, and 10 Serang City, while the data obtained through interviews with the principal and vice-principal of the school. The results showed that the zoning system's implementation for new students' admission was following government policy. The efforts schools and teachers' to helping student learning difficulties by adding learning hours for students who experience learning difficulties at schools on health protocols as part of the 'new normal' through a scheduled and limited system, the importance of parental participation in coaching and supervision of learning at home and assist their friends or seniors to understand the substance earlier learning.]]>

<![CDATA[Essay writing has a fairly complex level of difficulty. Moreover, the online and offline learning process in the era of technological progress has directed learning activities to be carried out through technological innovation. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of film trailers on improving English essay writing skills for students at Bina Sarana Informatika University, Jakarta. The research method uses experiments with a one-group experimental design. Participants were taken using a purposive sampling technique of as many as 50 students. The research was conducted on 3rd-semester students of the 2021-2022 academic year. The data analysis technique used essay tests and observation. Data were analyzed using a t-test. The results showed that students in the Essay Writing class experienced an increase in their ability to write English essays. There are 80% of the respondents who experienced an increase in their English essay writing test scores before and after using the film trailer learning media. In addition, the data from the t-test also showed that t-Stat t-table (-10.384 2.0095), meaning that there was a significant effect of movie trailers on English essay writing skills. The results of the study also have implications for the understanding of the teaching staff regarding the use of digital learning media or technology applications in building more innovative writing classes]]>

<![CDATA[This study examines lecturers' behavioral changes in using a learning management system (LMS) during the COVID-19 pandemic at Tadulako University. This research used a qualitative approach, and the population was lecturers of Tadulako University selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Then, the collected data were analyzed using several stages, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed changes in lecturers' behavior in Tadulako University in using LMS for distance learning. Based on internal factors, the changes can be seen from lecturers' willingness to improve their skill in using the LMS through the internet and YouTube and learn how to use LMS from other lecturers who have mastered it. Based on external factors, changes occurred due to pressure to implement LMS in distance learning as the pandemic worsened. The applicable policies and circular letters require lecturers to use LMS during the COVID-19 pandemic.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study is to find out how to use Madrasah E-Learning in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic by looking at three important aspects, including planning, implementation and evaluation. This study uses a qualitative research approach with descriptive methods. This type of qualitative research used is basic research. At the same time, the data collection techniques are through observation, interviews and documentation. Observations were made at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Pontianak. The results of this study are: (1) Madrasah e-learning will automatically store the planning data that the teacher compiles, and if it is needed to be printed, the teacher can print directly with the existing menu. (2) Implementation of learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, Madrasah e-learning is equipped with a video convergence menu, teachers and students can conduct virtual meetings. Students can also read the material provided in the teaching materials menu. And (3) Evaluation of E-learning Madrasah learning provides menus for conducting assessments. Cognitive assessment can be done in multiple-choice, essay, true-false, jump, which can be done in the Computer Based Test (CBT) menu. ]]>

<![CDATA[This article examines Abdurrahman Wahid's (often referred to as Gus Dur) views on transformative Islamic education. This is a qualitative study conducted in a library. This research compiled a collection of Gus Dur's writings on transformative Islamic education. The data collection technique used in this study was content analysis. In comparison, the authors used procedures for compiling, connecting, reducing, presenting, and withdrawing data during the data analysis process. According to Abdurrahman Wahid's thinking, this study discovered two concepts of transformative Islamic education: peace education and multicultural education. In informal education, Gus Dur's idea of peace education can be implemented through a sociopolitical lens through cooperative learning strategies. In contrast, in non-formal education, it can be implemented through dialogue and deliberation strategies. Multicultural education is Gus Dur's vision of education to foster heterogeneity in Indonesian society. Because, as Gus Dur points out, Indonesia is made up of numerous ethnic groups, tribes, cultures, and religions. As a result, the Indonesian people face the possibility of conflict over religion, ethnicity, and culture. ]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of the study was to determine the training needs needed by teachers in making digital products to facilitate the learning process. Training is as a way for teachers to innovate digital competencies. The participants of this study were 10 elementary school teachers (F=6 and M=4). Participants are homeroom teachers from grades 1 to 6, and 4 were subject teachers (Mathematics, English, local content and sports). This study used the descriptive qualitative method. Observation, documents and interviews collected data. The data analysis process used the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and triangulation. The results show that teachers need workshops that can directly practice making digital teaching tools such as learning videos and developing videos on the YouTube channel. However, they have difficulties with the technological devices they have. There are 30% of teachers who have full technology equipment, and the rest rely on smartphones for online teaching and learning. Thus, schools can consider providing technology tools that teachers can use in developing digital competencies and digital learning tools.]]>

<![CDATA[Multimedia in learning could make the learning atmosphere more attractive for student attention and student interactions. The objectives of this research were: (1) describe the use of multimedia learning by elementary school teachers in Kendari City; (2) analyze the comparison of the use of multimedia learning in terms of school accreditation by the teacher at elementary school in Kendari City; (3) analyze aspects of obstacles in the use of multimedia learning for elementary school teachers in Kendari City. This research used mixed methods with a sequential exploratory strategy held at the Kendari City Elementary School. The school sample was determined using the random cluster sampling technique selecting 3 schools from 11 sub-districts. Each sub-district took 2 accredited A and non-A public schools and 1 accredited private school so that the total respondents were 66 people. Research data was collected through observation forms and interviews. The results of this research showed that: (1) multimedia learning use by primary school teachers in Kendari City was still good; (2) there was a meaningful comparison of the use of multimedia learning by elementary school teachers in Kendari City in terms of school accreditation; (3) aspects of barriers to the use of multimedia learning by primary school teachers in Kendari City include: (a) teachers 'lack competence in IT, (b) teachers' misconceptions about learning multimedia, (c) the lack of support structures and infrastructures, (d)) the lack of training on multimedia learning means, (e) the lack of involvement of the educational software used by teachers to support learning activities.]]>
