Abstract

The laboratory is a place to do practice or research. Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FMIPA UB) has 8 laboratories that are used as supporting facilities in the implementation of learning and practicum. Students or lecturers can use laboratory facilities for research by applying for permission to use laboratory facilities according to existing procedures. The problem with current procedures is that researchers must visit each laboratory to obtain laboratory availability information or request permission to use the laboratory. This process is less effective because it takes a lot of time. In addition, recording each research activity still uses paper form so it is difficult to recap the data. To solve this problem, a laboratory facility management system was created. This system can simplify the process of applying for research permits, managing facilities, and recording the use of laboratory facilities. The main stages of system development in this study consist of requirements engineering, modeling, implementation, and testing. System development is carried out using an object-oriented approach. The results of requirements engineering obtained 69 functional requirements and 1 non-functional requirement. In the implementation, the system is developed on a web platform using the model-view-controller (MVC) concept with the Laravel framework. At the testing stage, the results are 100% valid on unit testing, integration, and validation. The results of the compatibility test show that the system can run well on various browsers.

Abstract

The transmigration program implemented by the government is not only for the equal distribution of population, but also for economic development and inter-regional development in Indonesia. Malang Regency is currently still opening a transmigration program, but many potential areas for transmigration in Malang Regency are not comparable with the transmigration quota provided by the government as well as the community's interest in transmitting transmigration. Therefore, it is necessary to group regions in Malang Regency that have potential to transmigrate in order the government can provide accurate information for people in Malang Regency and could see the potential of each region. In this study the method used is Improved k-Means which is able to improve the accuracy of clustering results and the quality of clustering when compared with the k-Means method. It is because the initial centroid selection in the Improved k-Means method is done by selecting value of the farthest distance between data. Based on the results of testing conducted the Improved k-Means method produces better cluster quality compared to the k-Means method, in the silhouette coefficient value of 0.29135900558873151 with parameters of the number clusters of 3 and maximum iteration of 3. Clusters 1 there are 4 districts with no potential transmigration, cluster 2 there are 27 districts that have the potential to transmigrate, and cluster 3 there are 2 districts which have the potential to transmigrate.

Abstract

The F building at the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya hold 12 floors and has separate rooms which arranged in several dividers between rooms where each floor in the building has different functions and jobs, in a words, a coordination for logistical assistance or file delivery is indispensable. Current document delivery activities generally depend on the workforce of employees, and are quite time consuming and cause a lack of concentration on employees doing their own work. Therefore in this study the researcher will focus on discussing the design of a wheeled robot for logistics delivery in the building. The system were designed in a simulation used ROS-Gazebo to run the robot and the method used to run the robot were using a Particle Filter. The robot's particle filter works by localized its position by spreading a number of particles around it so that the particles can represent the robot's position. Particle Filter test can be done by determining a certain number of particles, testing the accuracy of its position and computation time for 5 times. In later testing, it was found that the number of particles that had high accuracy was at 50 particles with an average computation time of 292.08 ms for each number of particles tested. The results show that the time and the number of particles are optimum in the F9.3 building environment located at the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

Malang City is one of the cities with a large population in Indonesia. In 2020, the total population of Malang City will reach 874,890. With the growth rate of population, there are problems of community interaction with the government of Malang City. One of the problems of community interaction with the government is the delivery of aspirations or complaints to the Malang City Government. Apart from these social problems, there are problems with natural disasters in Malang. In 2019, the Central Statistics Agency of Malang City recorded 201 natural disasters that occurred. Until now, Malang City has not had disaster service or disaster reporting. So far, it is known through official social media belonging to related agencies, such as BPNPB or BMKG. Apart from handling complaints and disasters, Malang City does not yet have a service to facilitate aid assistance. Responding to some of these problems, the Malang City Communication and Information Agency plans to create a mobile-based Integrated Community Interaction service application that can be used and received well by the community. Therefore, it is necessary to design the user or user experience to see whether the design as a matter of community interaction has met the needs of the community as users. The design process in this study applies the Human-Centered Design method which focuses on the needs of users and stakeholders for solution design considerations. After the design was successfully drafted, 7 evaluators evaluated the design using the Usability Testing Scenario Task method and the SUS questionnaire. Based on the evaluation results, the solution design got a value of 95.03% in the aspect of Effectiveness, and a value of 83% in the aspect of Efficiency. Meanwhile, in the Satisfaction aspect, the score was 86.07 with the following predicates; Acceptable in the Acceptable category, Promoter predicate in the Net Promotor Score category, and Excellent predicate in the Adjective category.

Abstract

UBAQA is a work program as a form of appreciation from the University for faculties, study programs and work units whose performance has implemented minimum service standards well. But at this time UBAQA only assesses ratings for faculties, study programs and work units, without assessing and ranking lecturers personal performance. So as the management of Brawijaya University and UBAQA organizer needs an assessment and ranking of the lecturers personal performance. From the results of the ranking, the lecturer can be given an appreciation for completing the task well and having work performance. So as to facilitate the implementation of rating, assessment, and Monitoring performance of lecturers personally. UBAQA needs a website-based information system to get information visualizations well. A usable media visualization is a dashboard. To be able to produce an easy dashboard and the user is satisfied, the User Experience (UX) design is done by applying the human centered project method as the project phase of UX and the element of user experience method as a stage in making the project. The stages of this research include the context of usage context, needs analysis, solution design and evaluation. The evaluation in this study uses usability testing on aspects of learnability, efficiency and satisfaction using the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire. Based on the test results found three problems and two respondent feedback related to the project of the solution being tested, so that in the next stage improvements were made to the project of the solution.

Abstract

The number of students as well as various levels of ability and strengths in different aspects of behavior, academic values ​​and non-academic values, so that based on the conditions that emerge an effort to find out students have superior achievements. The selection of high achieving students in SMP Negeri 2 Bululawang tends to be use the academic scores of the nasional exam, because the decisions taken only use the academic scores of the national exam, so it is not fair to make high performance student decisions that are seen in one criterion. In carrying out a decision support system for determining these high achieving students using the Weighted Product (WP) and Simple Addictive Weighting (SAW) methods. This system uses several criteria used for the selection of high-achieving students including, the average report card grades from grade 7 to grade 9, school exam scores, attendance attendance values, and extracurricular grades. The test results obtained an accuracy of 40%, because the school only determines from one aspect only.

Abstract

Culinary is the result of processed food in the form of food or beverages. One city that has many culinary places is Malang. The number of places for culinary purchases allows tourists to choose the desired culinary spot. However, there is no system that can provide information about where to buy culinary based on the criteria desired by more than 1 user. Based on the problems that have been mentioned above, the researcher wants to create a recommendation system for typical Malang culinary places based on Android. This recommendation system uses the TOPSIS-Borda method through the Group Decision Support System approach. To get a culinary place recommendation, four criteria are needed as a determinant, including the closest distance to a culinary place, operating hours, affordable prices and good ratings. In solving the problem, the researcher uses a web service to store data on culinary places and perform TOPSIS-Borda calculations. The black-box test results show that all functional requirements can operate well with an accuracy level of 100%. For the comparison of manual calculations with calculations from the system, the two calculation results have the same value. For the results of usability testing, this recommendation system gets an average result of 77 which indicates that the system is quite well received with grade C, also having excellent category based on the SUS Score.

Abstract

The arrival of tourists into a tourist destination (DTW) has brought prosperity and to local people. Therefore, it is a sector that governments rely on in Indonesia to generate foreign exchange reserves. According to a study conducted by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) in 2004, the tourism sector can increase local income because of its Quick Yielding Industry. But the number of visitors entering an area is uncertain, for it was predicted the arrival of the tourists. In the study his method was Performance Improved Holt winters so it could be obtained information regarding predictions of the number of domestic tourists arriving to Bali. Performance Improved Holt winters was used for tourist predictions to Bali because of Improved methods used to predict seasonal data patterns. Performance Improved Holt winters rely on scaling trends and seasonal improvements based on the smoothing level equations, the smoothing trend and the smoothing seasonal equations, using data of the number of domestic tourists to Bali during January 2004-December 2018 received from bali.bps.go.id (official website of the BPS). Based on the tests done on this research, the value parameter α (alpha) = 0,03; β (beta) = 0,003; γ (gamma) = 0,04 and value of the smallest error using MAPE is 8% with the number of training data = 168 and testing data = 12.

Abstract

In the industrial era 4.0 a lot affects human activities, especially among students. Technology applied in the world of education is online learning. Online learning is a learning method implemented in communication media both asynchronously both text and video. In order for this learning to be more effective and much better in the future, they provide a place to provide input or feedback in the form of criticism and suggestions on social media such as YouTube, Twitter and Facebook. To find out whether online learning is getting more effective, a student emotional analysis is carried out on online learning. In this study, the Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) method was used in classifying the emotional of students and added the N-Gram method in word selection. The process in this emotional analysis includes data collection, text preprocessing which is useful in producing clean data, N-gram, weighting using the term weighting method, Single Value Decomposition (SVD), Latent Semantic Indexing, Vector Support Machine (VSM) which results in a classification process. . The data used in this study are primary data sourced from social media such as Youtube, Twitter and Facebook. The best results occur when the N-Gram is a combination or combination. From the 5 Fold, it was obtained an average accuracy of 77%, precision 76%, recall 78% and f-measure 77%.
