Yupa: Historical Studies Journal publishes articles for four aspects below. Historiography means the writing of history based on the critical examination of sources, the selection of particular details from the authentic materials in those sources, and the synthesis of those details into a narrative that stands the test of critical examination. Historiography studies cover chronologically various themes, such as local history, social history, cultural history, economic history, political history, military history, intellectual history, environmental history, and other historical studies. Philosophy of history, the study either of the historical process and its development or of the methods used by historians to understand their material. History of education is a study of the past that focuses on educational issues. These include education systems, institutions, theories, themes, and other related phenomena in the past. History education includes studies of how history teaches in school or society, curriculum, educational values in events, figures, and historical heritage, media and sources of historical learning, history teachers, and studies of textbooks.

Integration of Conflicts Resolution Values in Learning of History: a Case Studi in Kerinci Firza Firza

Conflict is categorized as something always exist in society, people cannot be separated from conflict. Conflict causes stunted progress and development of human thought. Thus, conflicts must be immediately resolved to create a society of peace and harmony. Conflict resolution is a cultural form exists in society. Kerinci people are so familiar with conflict resolution with the term of Mandawah. In the conflict resolution of Mandawah, it is contained in traditional values that are relevant to the life of nowadays’ society. Schools do not only teach learners to master learning, but also to shape the affective aspects. Integration of conflicts resolution values in learning history is needed to improve harmonization in the life of the Kerinci society.

Samaun Bakri: Nationalist Portrait in 1925-1948 Abdul Salam

Samaun Bakri is one of many figures from Nagari Kurai Taji Pariaman West Sumatra, which enliven the national political stage. His movement in the Dutch Colonial period, began when he attended in Sumatra Thawalib Padang Panjang. The Kuminih movement, fronted by Communist propagandists, has changed its paradigm of thinking from moderate to radical. Sometimes Samaun is often the target of arrest with allegations of infidelity. This paper is compiled based on historical method, consist of; heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The world of Islamic movement and modernization has indeed influenced the way of Samaun thinking. Several times, he was involved in the press, ranging from Persamaan, Sasaran, Penabur, and often wrote harsh criticisms of the Dutch government. After the Silungkang incident, he crossed over to the Partai Nasional Indonesia (PNI). During the Japanese occupation, he was involved in the management of PUTERA and Jawa Hokokai. His political career post-independence immediately dashed, when he served as Deputy Governor of West Java in 1946, KNIP members represent West Java, and became Deputy Resident of Banten in 1946-1948.

History Learning Based on Value of Syech Abdurauf As-Singkili Manuscript to Improve Gender Equality Awareness Mawardy As Ary Putra

Local culture-based education has an important role in character building for students. In a scientific heritage, there are values of wisdom that can be applied in everyday life. The values of this wisdom are reflected in the work of an Acehnese scholar Search Abdurrauf as Singkili, later written in several Manuscripts: Mir'atul Thulab Fe Bag-lubang Ma'ritah Ahkamisy Syar'iyah Lil Mulkil Wahhab and Turjumanul Mustafid. Hence, the history-based learning model of Syech Abdurrauf as a Singkili script was developed. This development is expected to improve students' sense of understanding and awareness about gender equality. From the values listed in Syech Abdurrauf Singkili's text, students are expected to be able to know the value of local wisdom, to develop a pattern of understanding of gender equality awareness both within the scope of school and community, and to raise awareness of equality in Islam. Result: n = 28 and (α) = 0,05, post-test value 0,913, T-test 2,279, n = 200> 0,05, post-test 0,430. There is a significant increase in the study of the development of this model, it is expected that with this model of learning history able, develop a gender equality awareness of the students.

Using Historical Sites in East Kalimantan for Education: Challenges and Opportunities Muhammad Azmi

The historical site can be used as a source of learning history, a model of learning history, media history learning, to enhance literacy history or as historical attractions. The utilization based on their shape can be divided into two, direct utilisation and indirect utilization. Constraints encountered in the utilization of the site can be divided into two, the internal problem and external problems. Internal problems in the form of time limitations, limitations of the learning ability of teachers, and facilities and infrastructure limitations. The problem form of external sites. access limitations, limitations, and limitations of supporting personnel funds.

Student Teams Achievement Division with a Learning Video to Increase Students` Achievements and Learning Motivation in Social Science Learning Ais Murjianti; Hermanu Joebagio; Nunuk Suryani

This research aims to measure the effectiveness of the implementation of learning model STAD using video to improve the students’ motivation and students ‘achievement. The type of this research is classroom action research, that is conducted at Sidoharjo Junior High School 2 Sragen, Indonesia. The implementation of cooperative learning with STAD model using video could improve the students` learning achievement. The average score was 76, 13, and the percentage of minimal classical completeness reach 87, 09 %. However, perceived on the classical completeness criteria, all of the students have completed the criteria, and reach 85 % of the learning target. The implementation of STAD using natural resources video could improve the student`s motivation. The result of the research shows the average score of 83, 97%, and the percentage of minimum criteria shows 80%.

The Implementation of Group Investigation with Audio Visual Learning Media to Improve Student`s Learning Achievement and Student`s Attitude of Love the Homeland on Social Science Learning in Sambirejo 2 Junior High School Andriati Rahayu; Sariyatun Sariyatun; Nunuk Suryani

The purpose of this research is to know the effectiveness of implementation of cooperative learning with group investigation and audiovisual media learning to improve student learning achievement and student`s attitude of love the homeland at junior high school students. The classroom action research was used as research approach. The subjects of research subjects were teachers and 32 students of class VIIIA. The data were analyzed by interactive analysis technique and comparative descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate the improvement of learning achievement with an average value of 70 in cycles I, 77 in cycles II, and 81.75 in cycle III. Meanwhile the attitude score for love of the homeland shows improvement with the average yield of 72 in cycles I, 82 in cycles II, and 85 in cycle 3. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the learning model for study Group Investigation with audiovisual learning media had proved to improve the learning achievement and attitude of love the homeland of student in the class VIIIA Sambirejo 2 State Junior High School.

In the recent years, the topic of democracy has become important issues for Indonesian society. The designed curriculum and learning practices should be integrated with the thoughts of our founding fathers that reflect the values of democratic attitude. Sutan Syahrir as one of our founding fathers who gave his thoughts in settling the new direction about the democratic state after the Indonesian independence. Sutan Syahrir explains the concept of humanism in the freedom, equality, collectivity, the equality between right and responsibilities. The discussion of Sutan Syahrir’s thoughts can be extended to the issues of contemporary education. The authors argue that Sutan Syahrir’s thought can be used to develop the innovative learning based on the values of democracy. This article aims to give a conceptual framework of innovative learning about the Sutan Syahrir’s thought to improve the students’ democratic attitude.

Indonesia as a developing country that aspires to improve the quality of education by delivery of human beings who have intelligence that is balanced with high emotional intelligence. Innovation of the learning model is the first step to move forward in advancing the quality of education in this country. The purpose of writing this article is to provide an overview of PBL based learning model constructivist sosioculturalism as an innovative learning model in the millennial era. The method used in this article is descriptive and theoretical analysis with data collected through the study of a variety of articles, books, journals and sources that support the learning model PBL (Problem Based Learning) and constructivist theory sosioculturalism.

Peningkatan Keaktifan dan Kerja Sama Melalui Pendekatan 4C dan Problem Posing dalam Pembelajaran Sejarah di Kelas X IPS 2 SMAN 8 Surakarta Esti Setiyani; Akhmad Arif Musadad; Sri Wahyuni; Nur Fatah Abidin

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan keaktifan dan kerja sama siswa kelas X IPS 2 SMA N 8 Surakarta dengan pendekatan 4C dan model pembelajaran Problem Posing. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah 30 siswa, guru, dan kelas X IPS 2 SMA N 8 Surakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan 4C dan model pembelajaran Problem Posing dapat meningkatkan keaktifan dan kerja sama siswa kelas X IPS 2 SMA N 8 Surakarta. Peningkatan keaktifan siswa dibuktikan dengan meningkatnya persentase keaktifan dan kerja sama siswa dari tahap pra-siklus sampai dengan siklus II. Peningkatan tersebut telah melampaui target yang ditentukan yaitu sebesar 75%. Simpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan 4C dan model pembelajaran Problem Posing dapat meningkatkan keaktifan dan kerja sama pada siswa kelas X IPS 2 SMA N 8 Surakarta

Penelitian ini merupakan salah satu dasar dalam pengembangan bahan ajar dengan tujuan mengetahui kebutuhan di lapangan seputar bahan ajar agar dapat menghasilkan bahan ajar yang efektif dan baik. Nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang dapat diangkat dalam pengembangan bahan ajar ini adalah salah satunya kearifan lokal yang terdapat di Kalimantan Barat salah satunya adalah Tradisi Saprahan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan pada beberapa sekolah sampel mengenai kebutuhan akan bahan ajar berbasis sejarah lokal, didapatkan fakta bahwa memang selama ini kebutuhan bahan ajar berbasis sejarah lokal sangat tinggi. Hal ini mendorong peneliti untuk membuat bahan ajar berbasis literasi digital nilai-nilai kearifan lokal pada Tradisi Saprahan sebagai solusi atas minimnya bahan ajar sejarah di sekolah-sekolah setingkat SMA/ SMK.
