Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the skills that must be possessed by students in the 2013 curriculum, especially in 21st century learning. Indonesia's low ranking in PISA results in the critical thinking category, ranked 64 out of 65 countries is important from this study. The low thinking skills of students are caused by students' critical thinking skills in science learning are still not optimal. Based on observations made by researchers in the learning process, teaching materials use more books so that learning does not run interactively. This leads to students' critical thinking skills being poorly trained. This research aims to develop teaching materials in the form of project-based learning e-modules  that improve the critical thinking skills of grade 5 elementary school students effectively. The development method in this study uses a 4-D model from Thiagarajan (1974), namely Define, Design, Development, and Dessimination. The instruments used in this study were interviews, questionnaires, and observations. The results of this study showed that the project-based learning  e-module was valid with material validation results of 75.6%, media validation results of 84.5%, and language validation results of 81.25%. In addition, student responses from individual trials were 97%, in small group trials by 90%, and in large group trials by 87%. Quantitative analysis  with independent sample t-test using SPSS 26 for Windows showed that there was an average difference in final observation results between the experimental class and the control class of 2.625 with a sig (2-tailed) p-value of 0.000. These results were obtained from the responses of experimental and control class students. Thus it can be concluded that the use of e-modules in learning has improved students' critical thinking.

Abstract

This study describes the effect resulting from using cooperative learning model think pair share type of learning outcomes Science Class V integrated by the character. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence on the learning outcomes of Science Class V students caused by the use of cooperative learning model type think pair share. This type of research is a True experiment with Pretest-Postest Control Design. The population in this study are students of SDN Kebon Kosong 13 which consists of 3 classes, namely VA, VB, and VC classes. Sampling technique in this study using Probabilty Sampling technique with Simple Random Sampling technique. After random shuffle obtained samples of 2 classes, namely the control class consists of 30 students, and experimental class consists of 29 students. This research activity by providing experimental treatment to the experimental class, while the control class was not given treatment. This study obtained the results of pretest and postest testing of students. Each obtained the pretest results of the control class is = 50.1 while the experimental class is = 49.78. After the experimental class was given treatment with think pair share type learning model and the control class was not given treatment, then the postest results of the control class were = 56.23 while the experimental class was = 79.37. Based on the results of hypothesis testing with t-test using SPSS 22.0 program obtained the results of Sig (2-tailed) is 0.000. Referring to the result Sig (2-tailed) value 0.000 < 0.05 then Ho rejected and Ha accepted. This means that in this study there is a significant difference between the learning outcomes of experimental class students and control class students

Abstract

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is the United Nations’ effort so that by 2030 all people of the world can enjoy peace and prosperity. one of the SDGs goals is clean water and sanitation. This provides opportunities for science learning innovation. The development of IT can make learning interesting and positive academic performance. This provides an opportunity to develop Learning Media which is Android operating system. The objective of this study is to innovate learning through the development of learning media in Indonesian Ecology and Biodiversity material that is integrated with SDGs, and test its effectiveness. The study wad done in class VII at the even semester of the 2022/2023 by using Research and Development method with 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Dissemination). From the” Define” stage, science learning in the form of Android powerpoints and water purification practice was potential to develop. In the “Design” stage, learning media design using water biota’s theme and turquoise green’s background, black font, and font size that adjust with layout size.  In the “Develop” stage, the score of media feasibility was 8 (valid) and material feasibility was 8.56 (valid). The score of water purification device was 9.22 (valid). In the “Disseminate” stage, the achievement of knowledge is measured from the results of pre-test (58.8) and post-test (68.8). The N Gain score of the test was 0.23.  From the result, the score of Student Worksheets was 94.34 and practice was 78.03. Finally, the innovations through Android-based learning and water purification practice were effective (> 3.40).

Abstract

Currently, the use of prohibited food additives is still often found, and is even increasing, especially among food entrepreneurs, which are generally produced by small industries or households. One type of food preservation that is currently widely used is borax and formalin. The aim to be achieved in this research is to determine the characteristics of the tool for detecting preservatives (borax) in food and to determine the presence/absence of preservatives (borax) in meatball food. The method used in this research is experiment. The results obtained in this research can conclude that there is still use of borax in meatball type food although it is not yet known whether the seller actually uses borax on purpose or the flour used contains borax without the seller knowing it and the borax content itself greatly influences the results of the Frequency value.

Abstract

Good education has several components that support it, starting from learning planning, learning strategies, learning media to be used, and evaluation in learning. This research aims to describe the cognitive learning outcomes of class VIII MTsS Miftahul Ulum students after implementing the TGT type cooperative learning model assisted by Quizwhizzer and to determine the significant differences in cognitive learning outcomes between classes that apply the TGT type cooperative learning model assisted by Quizwhizzer and conventional classes on aircraft simple. This type of research uses quantitative research and the sample for this research is simple random sampling. Based on the results of descriptive and inferential analysis, it was stated that the experimental class that was given treatment using the TGT type cooperative learning model assisted by Quizwhizzer received a higher average score, namely 80.47, compared to the control class using the conventional learning model with an average score of 70.31. Based on the hypothesis test that was carried out using the Independent Sample T-Test, a significance value was obtained for the sig (2-tailed) of 0.000, which means it is less than 0.05. Based on the descriptive and inferential analysis that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the application of the TGT-type cooperative learning model assisted by Quizwhizzer can improve students' cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

The challenges of 21st century skills are in line with the objectives of the Merdeka Curriculum, one of which is to grow the ability to analyze various scientific issues and evaluate various phenomena in everyday life. The purpose of this study is to produce contextual teaching and learning-oriented student worksheets that can improve science literacy skills on chemical equilibrium material.  The method used in this research refers to the Borg and Gall development model, but is limited to the product trial stage. This research design uses One Group Pretest Posttest. The feasibility of the student worksheet related to the validity aspect is measured based on the results of the assessment of 3 validators, the practicality aspect is reviewed from the results of the response questionnaire and observation of student activities, while the effectiveness aspect is seen from the N-gain value of the pretest-posttest of science literacy. The results of this study showed that the content validity was 87.88% and construct validity was 90.79% with a very valid category, the practicality value was 96.1% positive response and 94.43% based on student activity, and the average N-gain was 0.8853 in the high category. In conclusion, the contextual teaching and learning oriented student worksheet is valid, practical, and effective to improve students' science literacy on chemical equilibrium material.
