Abstract

This research was highly intention by the researcher's interest in social life and Islamic education on ethnic Madurese and Malays in the Sungai Besar, Darat Besar. Although there have been ethnic conflicts in several areas in West Kalimantan, but it contrast to the two ethnic groups namely Malay and Madurese in the area in Sungai Pinyuh Subdistrict and Sungai Besar, Darat Besar. Both ethnic relations are fairly good (harmonious). The focus of this research was to describe how Islamic Education has big influence in people social life. The method in this research was descriptive with qualitative research form and historical approach. The subjects of this research are religious leaders, local political figures, government officials, Karang Taruna community, BPD and Madurese and Malay Communities. The data in this research study was interviews and documentation. Data collection techniques conducted in this research used data reduction, data presentation and drawing the conclusion. The result of this study is the education and social condition of the community seems very good, with harmony atmosphere in society. In Sungai Bakau Besar Darat, even though they are  have different ethnicities and religions, but they can live in harmony, as the way to live together peacefully. They respect each other and make their differences as a new lesson  for seeking the pleasure of Allah SWT.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether cognitive abilities be increased through stone media in early childhood. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether cognitive ability can be increased through stone media in Fathina Kindergarten. The subjects or informants of the study were children from the Fathina Kindergarten, Majene Regency, as many as 20 people. This research was carried out in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year, which took place from August to October and was carried out at Fathina Kindergarten, Majene Regency.  The Concept of addition and subtraction through stone media at Fathina Kindergarten, Majene Regency, is experimental classroom action research (CAR). Experimental classroom action research is classroom action research conducted by trying to apply various techniques/strategies effectively and efficiently in a teaching and learning process activity, in this case, through the assignment method. Based on the results of research that has been carried out in Group B of Fathina Kindergarten with 20 students, increasing the ability through stone media has increased with the percentage value of 80%. From the results of the Classroom Action Research conducted by the researcher, namely increasing the ability through stone media, it can increase in Group B in Fathina Kindergarten.

Abstract

The study of the implications of education on societal change is important in social and educational contexts. This study was conducted in that context; it aims to describe how the implications of citizens ' education on their language. Data were collected in Riam Panjang Village, Kapuas Hulu. The place is more in the upper reaches of the Kapuas River, about 400 km from Pontianak, the capital of West Kalimantan province. Data were collected through interviews and observation. Data analysis was conducted with the approach of Cresweell (2015). In conclusion, the rapidly growing education in Riam Panjang has transformed monolingual societies into multilingual ones in the last 30 years. The community of speakers who initially spoke one language (monolingual), namely Malay Ulu Kapuas, became a bilingual community that spoke other Malay languages (Indonesian, Pontianak language), as well as several other languages. Changes are contributed by the need for interaction of society with the outside world, as a result of development and globalization. The implication of this study is the need for specific policies of decision makers about regional language retention. If there is no specific policy, it is feared that regional languages will become extinct, and that means part of the wealth of communal knowledge will also be extinct.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the high divorce rate and the implementation of the mediation process in Religious Court Class I-A Pontianak in 2020-2021. The objectives of this research are to find out the factors causing the high divorce rate and how the mediation process is implemented. This research applied qualitative research methods. The research techniques used were documentation and interviews. This research reveals that: 1. The factors causing the high divorce rate in the Religious Court Class I-A Pontianak in 2020-2021 are: disputes and quarrels; economic problems; leaving their spouses; gambling; and domestic violence (KDRT), and 2. The mediation process carried out by the mediator is based on the Regulation of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 Year of 2016, namely (a) submit a resume of the case to the mediator, the mediation process is not more than 30 days from the determination; (b) the material will be completed based on the problems experienced; (c) the mediator can invite the experts or community figures who can help resolve the problem with an agreement between the two parties and the mediator, and  (d) if the mediation process is successful, the mediator is obliged to issue a peace treaty or agreement. This research provides recommendations: (a) academically, the opportunity to become a non-judge mediator can be fulfilled by alumni of the Islamic Guidance and Counselling Study Program who have taken mediator training; and (b) the mediator's ability and skills in the mediation process and the intense desire of the married couple to unite can reduce the rate of divorce.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim to examine the specifics and in-depth of the concept of integrative moral education in the perspective of Ibnu Abi al-Dunya and recommend the formulation of implementative methods that can be applied in the moral education based on his perspective. This research used qualitative methods by using a content analysis approach to the book of Makārim al-Akhlāq by Ibnu Abi al-Dunya. The results revealed that the moral education in the concept of Ibnu Abi al-Dunya is an ongoing process of education in instilling noble nature, which is based on true faith and tauḥīd, in order to form a godly person, has the perfection of faith. True moral education is moral education that is inseparable from the education of faith and faith. This is because noble morals must be based on faith, while the perfection of faith is reflected in noble morals. Moral education methods should be emphasized on more substantial aspects of emphasis rather than just being formalistic and verbal. The methods (uslub) of moral education in the concept and thinking of Ibnu Abi al-Dunya are pioneered as follow: (1) al-qudwah wa al-uswah, good examples; (2) al-targīb wa al-tasywīq, makes a person love and like something; (3) at-tarhīb, threat or punishment; (4) al-ta'awwud, of habituation; (5) al-wa'zhu wa al-naṣīḥah, advice and direction; (6) al-ḥiwār, discussion.

Abstract

This article stems from the critical importance of examining educational ideologies, including the ideology of Islamic education. Islamic educational ideology is often identified with two major streams of thought: first, liberalism, and second, conservatism. Discussions on the essence of Islamic education, for instance, ideally begin by exploring the perspectives of these two ideologies. However, both ideologies are frequently accepted as ready-made options for constructing the ideological foundation of Islamic education. Consequently, this has led to confusion, as despite certain similarities, neither liberalism nor conservatism fully aligns with all the principles and values of Islamic education. This misalignment arises from the inherent deficiencies in both ideologies. Errors in selecting or understanding the ideological foundation may result in the narrowing or distortion of the orientation of Islamic education. This paper seeks to propose an alternative foundation for Islamic educational ideology, namely Dynamic-Stabilism, as conceptualized by Wan Mohd Nor Wan Daud. The origins, development, and deficiencies of both liberalism and conservatism will be elaborated upon, followed by a comparative explanation of the Dynamic-Stabilism framework. The comparison will emphasize the points of convergence and divergence between Dynamic-Stabilism, liberalism, and conservatism. This study employs a qualitative library research method with a narrative-descriptive approach. Data will be drawn from primary sources, particularly the works of Wan Mohd Nor, as well as secondary sources that reinterpret his ideas. Based on an in-depth analysis, the findings suggest that the Dynamic-Stabilism framework is highly relevant as a foundation for achieving ideological independence in Islamic education in the future, without being constrained by the paradigms of liberalism or conservatism.Artikel ini berangkat dari pentingnya meninjau ideologi pendidikan, termasuk ideologi pendidikan Islam. Ideologi pendidikan Islam sering kali diidentifikasi dengan dua aliran pemikiran utama: pertama, liberalisme; dan kedua, konservatisme. Pembahasan mengenai esensi pendidikan Islam, idealnya, dimulai dengan menggali perspektif dari kedua ideologi ini. Namun, kedua ideologi tersebut sering diterima begitu saja sebagai pilihan yang tersedia untuk membangun fondasi ideologis pendidikan Islam. Akibatnya, hal ini sering menimbulkan kebingungan karena, meskipun terdapat beberapa kesamaan, baik liberalisme maupun konservatisme tidak sepenuhnya selaras dengan seluruh prinsip dan nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam. Ketidaksesuaian ini muncul karena adanya kekurangan yang melekat pada kedua ideologi tersebut. Kesalahan dalam memilih atau memahami fondasi ideologis dapat mengakibatkan penyempitan atau distorsi orientasi pendidikan Islam. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengusulkan fondasi alternatif bagi ideologi pendidikan Islam, yaitu Dynamic-Stabilism yang dikonseptualisasikan oleh Wan Mohd Nor Wan Daud. Asal-usul, perkembangan, dan kekurangan liberalisme serta konservatisme akan dijelaskan, diikuti dengan penjelasan komparatif mengenai kerangka Dynamic-Stabilism. Perbandingan ini akan menyoroti titik-titik persamaan dan perbedaan antara Dynamic-Stabilism, liberalisme, dan konservatisme. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kepustakaan kualitatif dengan pendekatan naratif-deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan dari sumber primer, terutama karya-karya Wan Mohd Nor, serta sumber sekunder yang menafsirkan ulang gagasan-gagasannya. Berdasarkan analisis mendalam, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kerangka Dynamic-Stabilism sangat relevan sebagai dasar untuk mencapai kemandirian ideologis pendidikan Islam di masa depan tanpa terikat oleh paradigma liberalisme maupun konservatisme.

Abstract

Islamic education plays an important role in shaping moderate understanding and attitudes in diversity. Various parties must participate in efforts to create social harmony and peace, so it is important to optimize religious moderation among Muslims. Islamic education plays an important role in shaping understanding and moderate attitudes towards religion. Through quantitative methods, this paper describes the perceptions of students and lecturers towards religious moderation in national insight. Researchers have set four indicators of understanding religious moderation as a reference in obtaining and analyzing data accurately, as follows: 1) having a national commitment, 2) not disturbing others and always respecting other religious opinions, 3) not causing violence both verbal and non-verbal. 4) always appreciating the diversity of local culture. These four indicators have been used to measure or analyze the level of understanding of students and lecturers in the Islamic Education Study Program, IAIN Pontianak about the concept of religious moderation. It can be assumed that the level of understanding of students and lecturers can affect their attitudes and behavior in practicing religious teachings. Therefore, Islamic Religious Education and Character Education can maintain the pillars of moderate character building, emphasizing aspects of tolerance, local wisdom, non-violence, and commitment to the nation, not the other way around, exclusive Islam that even tends to be extreme. This paper contributes to the model of academic-religious development based on religious moderation in higher education. This is important to prevent extremism by strengthening religious practices based on the essence of religious teachings.Pendidikan Islam berperan penting dalam membentuk membentuk pemahaman dan sikap moderat dalam beragam. Berbagai pihak harus berpartisipasi dalam upaya menciptakan harmoni dan perdamaian sosial, sehingga penting untuk mengoptimalkan moderasi beragama di kalangan umat Islam. Pendidikan Islam memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk pemahaman dan sikap moderat terhadap agama. Melalui metode kuantitaif, tulisan ini memaparkan terkait persepsi mahaiswa dan dosen terhadap moderasi beragama dalam wawasan kebangsaan. Peneliti telah menetapkan empat indikator tentang pemahaman moderasi beragama sebagai acuan dalam memperoleh dan menganalisis data secara akurat, sebagai berikut: 1) memiliki komitmen kebangsaan, 2) tidak mengusik orang lain dan senantiasa menghargai pendapat agama lainnya, 3) tidak menimbulkan kekerasan baik yang bersifat verbal maupun non verbal. 4) senantiasa menghargai kebinekaragaman budaya lokal. Keempat indikator tersebut telah digunakan untuk menakar atau menganalisis tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa dan dosen di Program Studi Pendidikan Agama Islam, IAIN Pontianak tentang konsep moderasi beragama. Hal ini dapat diasumsikan bahwa tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa dan dosen dapat memengaruhi sikap dan prilakunya dalam mempraktikkan ajaran agama. Oleh karena itu Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Pendidikan Karakter dapat mempertahankan pilar pembentukan karakter moderat, menekankan aspek toleransi, kearifan lokal, anti kekerasan, dan komitmen terhadap bangsa, bukan sebaliknya, Islam yang eksklusif bahkan cenderung ekstrim. Tulisan ini berkontribusi pada model pengembangan akademik- keagamaan berbasis moderasi beragama di perguruan tinggi. Hal ini penting untuk mencegah ekstremisme dengan memperkuat praktik keagamaan berdasarkan esensi ajaran agama.

Abstract

The focus of this article is on enhancing religious moderation among interfaith youth to revitalize social cohesion in Ilir Kota Village, Sanggau Regency. This article is derived from community service activities based on research, employing the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method. The results indicate that the program to enhance religious moderation, focusing on revitalizing social cohesion in the Harmony-Conscious Village of Ilir Kota, demonstrates the practical implementation of Talcott Parsons' structural functionalism theory through the AGIL framework. Each element of AGIL—adaptation, goal attainment, integration, and latency—plays a crucial role in fostering a stable and harmonious society. Through various activities such as interfaith seminars, joint commitment declarations, social actions, and the establishment of communication forums, the program successfully created inclusive and sustainable patterns of social interaction.Fokus artikel ini adalah meningkatkan moderasi beragama di kalangan pemuda lintas agama untuk merevitalisasi kohesi sosial di Desa Ilir Kota, Kabupaten Sanggau. Artikel ini berasal dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berbasis penelitian dengan menggunakan metode Participatory Action Research (PAR). Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa program peningkatan moderasi beragama yang berfokus pada revitalisasi kohesi sosial di Desa Sadar Kerukunan Ilir Kota mencerminkan penerapan praktis teori fungsionalisme struktural Talcott Parsons melalui kerangka AGIL. Setiap elemen AGIL—adaptasi, pencapaian tujuan, integrasi, dan pemeliharaan pola (latency)—memiliki peran penting dalam menciptakan masyarakat yang stabil dan harmonis. Melalui berbagai kegiatan seperti seminar lintas agama, deklarasi komitmen bersama, aksi sosial, dan pembentukan forum komunikasi, program ini berhasil menciptakan pola interaksi sosial yang inklusif dan berkelanjutan

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the development of Islamic schools in Singkawang during the Dutch East Indies colonial era (1901-1942). This era was marked by the transformation of Islamic education from traditional to formal, which was driven by the need to integrate general subjects. Interestingly, Islamic schools were able to exist amidst the rapid growth of Catholic Mission schools and the dominance of the Chinese community in Singkawang.Based on the results of the study through historical methods with the stages of heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography, it shows the following. Traditional Islamic education still dominated in the early 20th century through pengajian and alim-ulama as teachers. This practice occurred in several places around Singkawang, such as in the large mosque (Jami), surau in Selakau led by H. Muhammad As'ad, Semelagi, and other Malay villages. Driven by the development of Pan-Islamism, the existence of educated natives, and the wild school ordinance, traditional Islamic education was transformed into formal schools. Islamic schools that were once established in Singkawang during this era included the Islamiyah School in the city center, Madrasah in Semelagi Besar, Semelegi Kecil, Sungai Daun, Setapuk Besar, Madrasah Diniyah Setapuk, and Ahhadiah School Sedau. The curriculum used continued to emphasize Islamic religious studies plus general subjects in the three-year Volkschool and the five-year Standaarschool. The existence of Islamic schools in this city has encouraged the birth of the national movement with the establishment of various national movement organizations.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan perkembangan sekolah Islam di Singkawang pada era kolonialisme Hindia-Belanda (1901-1942). Era ini ditandai dengan terjadinya transformasi pendidikan Islam dari corak tradisional ke formal, yang didorong perlunya pengintegrasian pelajaran umum. Hal ini menjadi menarik bahwa sekolah Islam mampu eksis di tengah pesatnya sekolah Misi Katolik dan dominasi masyarakat Tionghoa di Singkawang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian melalui metode sejarah dengan tahapan heuristik, verifikasi, interpretasi, dan historiografi, menunjukkan hal berikut. Pendidikan Islam tradisional masih mendominasi pada awal abad ke-20 lewat pengajian dan alim-ulama sebagai pengajarnya. Praktik ini terjadi di beberapa tempat sekitar Singkawang, seperti di masjid besar (jami’), surau di Selakau pimpinan H. Muhammad As’ad, Semelagi, dan kampung-kampung Melayu lainnya. Didorong berkembangnya paham Pan Islamisme, keberadan bumiputera terpelajar, dan ordonansi sekolah liar, pendidikan Islam bercorak tradisional itu bertransformasi menjadi sekolah formal. Sekolah Islam yang pernah berdiri di Singkawang di era ini antara lain Islamiyah School di pusat kota, Madrasah di Semelagi Besar, Semelegi Kecil, Sungai Daun, Setapuk Besar, Madrasah Diniyah Setapuk, dan Ahhadiah School Sedau. Kurikulum yang digunakan tetap menekankan pelajaran agama Islam ditambah pelajaran umum yang ada di Volkschool tiga tahun dan Standaarschool lima tahun. Keberadaan sekolah Islam di kota ini telah mendorong lahirnya pergerakan kebangsaan dengan berdirinya berbagai organisasi pergerakan nasional.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the methods and approaches in tafsir bi al-ma’tsur (tafsir based on history) in a chronological review of the history of Qur'anic interpretation. Tafsir of the Qur'an is a very important discipline in understanding the meaning and message contained in the sacred text of the Qur'an. In this study, we will look at the development of methods and approaches used in tafsir bi al-matsur, which refers to interpretation based on history and tradition. The research method used is a historical approach and literature analysis. The study involves collecting data from various primary and secondary sources, including classical and contemporary books of tafsir, as well as historical literature on Qur'anic interpretation. The collected data will be analyzed chronologically to see the evolution of methods and approaches in tafsir bi al-matsur over time.The results of this study are expected to provide a better understanding of the development and variation of methods and approaches in tafsir bi al-matsur throughout the history of Qur'anic interpretation. In a chronological overview, this study will identify and analyze the different approaches used by mufasirs from different periods, as well as the factors that influenced the changes. It can also provide a foundation for further research in this area, as well as contribute to studies on the history of Qur'ānic interpretation and the development of methods and approaches in tafsir bi al-matsur. With a better understanding of the history and tradition of Qur'ānic interpretation, we can enrich our understanding of the Qur'ānic messages and apply them relevantly in the context of evolving times.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis metode dan pendekatan dalam tafsir bi al-matsur (tafsir berdasarkan sejarah) dalam tinjauan kronologis sejarah penafsiran Al-Qur'an. Tafsir Al-Qur'an merupakan disiplin ilmu yang sangat penting dalam memahami makna dan pesan yang terkandung dalam teks suci Al-Qur'an. Dalam kajian ini akan melihat perkembangan metode dan pendekatan yang digunakan dalam tafsir bi al-matsur yang mengacu pada penafsiran berdasarkan sejarah dan tradisi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan sejarah dan analisis literatur. Kajian ini melibatkan pengumpulan data dari berbagai sumber primer dan sekunder, termasuk kitab-kitab tafsir klasik dan kontemporer, serta literatur sejarah tentang tafsir Al-Qur'an. Data yang terkumpul akan dianalisis secara kronologis untuk melihat evolusi metode dan pendekatan dalam tafsir bi al-matsur dari waktu ke waktu. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih baik mengenai perkembangan dan variasi metode dan pendekatan dalam tafsir bi al-matsur. matsur sepanjang sejarah penafsiran Al-Qur'an. Hal ini juga dapat memberikan landasan bagi penelitian lebih lanjut di bidang ini, serta memberikan kontribusi terhadap kajian tentang sejarah penafsiran Al-Qur'an dan pengembangan metode dan pendekatan dalam tafsir bi al-matsur. Dengan pemahaman yang lebih baik terhadap sejarah dan tradisi penafsiran Al-Qur'an, kita dapat memperkaya pemahaman kita terhadap pesan-pesan Al-Qur'an dan menerapkannya secara relevan dalam konteks perkembangan zaman.
