Abstract

Hindu women who are already in the Grhasta period play an important role in the family. In their married life, women have several obligations for the harmony of their family. The word ‘woman’ comes from the word ‘wanită’, the feminine sex, which means beloved, wife, girl, woman, female (Semadi Astra, 2000: 372). Based on that sense, the word ‘woman’ means beloved, indicating that women are part of social life and family is part of the composition of social creatures that spread love to the surrounding environment, likewise their effort to enforce the Swadharma in their life. However, there are several obstacles regarding the efforts of women in implementing their Swadharma to create harmony in the family, society, and workplace. The Hindu women in Bali began to show their existence in their family life, society, nation, and state. Women's participation in the family is very meaningful. A woman as a wife and mother in the family has an important role in creating the harmony of the family as well as mental development of her children. In addition to taking care of the family, now women also participate in helping the family finances. Hindu women in Bali do not want to be housewives only and ask the husband for the household expenses. Many women are now beginning to participate to help family finances by working at home and outside. Even some mothers really want to fight alone for their children. It simply proves that women can also act as the head of a family just as a father.

Abstract

Subordination of women becomes a question in carrying out the household dish, especially the care for children who are born, which is the responsibility of husband and wife. It is impossible for the Sukhinah family to be formed if the burdens, both domestic and social, are not matched equally between men and women. Like a pillar in a house, if the load is not the same, not only will one of the pillars be destroyed but the house itself will collapse, if that is the case then the sukhinah family is the goal of every Hindu marriage, namely a happy and prosperous marriage that will not be realized. In fact there are divorce cases that have occurred in Denpasar City, divorce cases for Hindu couples in general have increased, namely in 2013 as many as 297 cases, in 2014 as many as 326 cases, 2015 as many as 315 cases, in 2016 as many as 418 cases, in 2017 as many as 495 cases , and in 2018 there were 566 cases. Based on the above phenomena, the author wants to explore the potential problems faced by Balinese Hindu women when carrying out domestic, public and social roles (traditional krama) in building a sukhinah family. It seems that women have problems adapting well to their husband's family environment because of differences in paradigms, different parenting styles and differences in habits. The factors causing the challenges faced by Balinese Hindu women in Denpasar City actually arise from the vertical relationship between women.

The preservation of local wisdom in Indonesia, especially in Bali, is still very little brought to the realm of technology. This is especially true for millennial generations. One of the local wisdom is Galungan. Galungan Day begins with the Mayadenawa story. Millennials only know how to run the Galungan procession. There are still few who understand the history of celebrating Galungan. Today technology is often used as a medium to introduce local wisdom. The use of this technology can be used to understand the history of Galungan. Researchers collected data by distributing questionnaires. Data obtained from the results of the questionnaire on 50 millennial generation respondents. The age range of 12-25 years states that 70% do not understand the history of Galungan. Next, to the same respondents, Mayadenawa digital comics were given. The results than stated that 23% did not understand the history of Galungan.

Abstract

The text of Tutur Bhuwana Mareka is a lontar text that has a Shivaistic nuance and is thick with Tattwa teachings. The text of Tutur Bhuwana Mareka has a core teaching that discusses a lot about the creation, maintenance, and destruction of the universe or what is known as Virat Vidyā. This study will discuss three basic consensus as the formulation of the problem which includes the meaning of harmony in the process of creation (uttpti), maintenance (stiti), and destruction (pralina). This study uses the theory of Hermeneutics from Friedrich August Wolf to discuss the overall problem formulation in this study. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method with several stages, namely: determining the type of research, finding sources of research data both primary and secondary data, determining research instruments, determining informants using purposive sampling techniques, collecting data using library, document, and descriptive methods, interview, thenanalyze the data, and present the results of the data analysis. The meaning of harmony in the process of creation (uttpti) of the universe in the text of Tutur Bhuwana Mareka is the existence of Sang Hyang Mareka Jati to respond to an empty and silent situation without any creation. All objects and living things that He created are correlated with each other and this is what shows the existence of harmony in the universe. Because in essence the universe without its contents is incomplete and living things cannot live and settle without the existence of the universe. Furthermore, the meaning of harmony in the process of maintaining (stiti) the universe in the text of Tutur Bhuwana Mareka is the existence of Sang Hyang Mareka Jati in protecting the universe and all its contents. Then the last is the meaning of harmony in the process of destruction (pralina) of the universe in the text of Tutur Bhuwana Mareka which isthe return of the elements of creation to the creator, namely Sang Hyang Mareka Jati. The destruction process in this text shows the existence of a cyclic cycle, proving that there is harmony, balance, and harmony in the universe. Creation, maintenance, and destruction are forms of harmony created by God in his manifestation as Sang Hyang Mareka Jati to give understanding to humans that the entire contents of the universe are His manifestations and will surely return to Him.
