Abstract

Urban farming is essential as an effort to overcome land limitations and weak productivity in the food supply. Urban farming from a communication perspective is an empowerment effort that directly involves the community in its implementation. This study aims to analyze the participatory communication of women farmers and analyze factors that affect the application. This study was conducted in Bogor City and Bogor Regency. This study is explanatory survey research with a quantitative approach and supported by qualitative data. The data obtained is by cluster sampling with urban, semi-urban, and rural clusters on 231 respondents. Data were analyzed using the score, Difference Test, and Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results show that the participatory communication level in the urban farming program is medium, referring to the dialogue atmosphere, dialogue participation, and convergence level. The factors that significantly influence participatory communication are characteristics, champion competence, the exposure of media communication, and institutional support.Keywords: Communication, dialogue, participation, urban farming ABSTRAKUrban farming penting sebagai upaya mengatasi keterbatasan lahan dan lemahnya produktivitas dalam penyediaan pangan. Urban farming dari perspektif Komunikasi merupakan upaya pemberdayaan yang melibatkan secara langsung masyarakat dalam pelaksanaannya. Fokus penelitian ini adalah menganalisis komunikasi partisipatif wanita tani dan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap komunikasi partisipatif dalam pelaksanaan program urban farming. Penelitian dilakukan di Kota Bogor dan Kabupaten Bogor. Penelitian ini bersifat survey explanatory research dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan didukung data kualitatif. Pengambilan sampel secara cluster sampling dengan klaster kelurahan yang dikelompokkan berdasarkan urban, semi urban dan rural terhadap 231 orang wanita tani. Analisa data dilakukan dengan metode skor, uji beda serta analisis structural model (SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi partisipatif wanita tani dalam program urban farming berada pada kriteria sedang yang dilihat dari suasana dialog, partisipasi dialog dan tingkat konvergensi. Faktor yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap komunikasi partisipatif adalah pendidikan formal, luas lahan, kompetensi pemberdaya, terpaan media komunikasi, dan dukungan lembaga.Kata Kunci: Dialog, komunikasi, partisipasi, urban farming

Abstract

This study aims to determine the organizational communication of the Dasok Village Head in East Java regarding the management of the Village Fund. This research method uses a case study with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, observations, and literature studies. The results showed that the Dasok Village Head violated the authority given by the state by not involving the Village Consultative Body (BPD) as a representation of the community, thus causing the Village Fund to be prone to corruption. The communication carried out by the Village Head takes place in a linear (one-way) manner. On that basis, the government should encourage village heads to build intensive communication and dialogue with the BPD and village communities. As a solution to minimize cases of corruption in the Village Fund, the application of local wisdom values and a cultural value system is a necessity that is carried out by the government so that the objectives of the Undang-Undang Desa No. 6 Tahun 2014 namely villages to become advanced, independent, democratic, and have prosperous citizens can be achieved.Keywords: Corruption, local wisdom, organizational communications, village fund ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komunikasi organisasi Kepala Desa Dasok Jawa Timur terkait pengelolaan Dana Desa. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Kepala Desa Dasok menyalahi kewenangan yang diberikan negara dengan tidak melibatkan Badan Permusyawaratan Desa (BPD) sebagai representasi masyarakat, sehingga menyebabkan Dana Desa rawan korupsi. Komunikasi yang dilakukan Kepala Desa berlangsung secara linier (satu arah). Atas dasar itu, pemerintah harus lebih mendorong kepala desa untuk membangun komunikasi dan dialog intensif dengan BPD maupun masyarakat desa. Sebagai solusi menimalisasi kasus-kasus korupsi Dana Desa, penerapan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal dan sistem nilai budaya menjadi suatu keniscayaan yang dilakukan pemerintah agar tujuan Undang-Undang Desa No. 6 Tahun 2014 yakni desa menjadi maju, mandiri, demokratis, dan warganya sejahtera dapat tercapai.Kata Kunci: Dana desa, kearifan lokal, komunikasi organisasi, korupsi

Abstract

In the middle of a patriarchal culture, several females pushed the competition map for the 2024 presidential candidate which was dominated by males. However, the votes were insignificant and only a few names appeared in the survey results. Apart from the 30% affirmative action, the role of the media in promoting gender mainstreaming in politics is needed because news about female presidential candidates is still relatively rare. Therefore, this research aims to reveal the news of the 2024 female presidential candidate survey results presented by tirto. id, tempo.co, and kompas.com. This was conducted using the framing analysis method of the Robert Matthew Entman model consisting of two dimensions, namely issue selection, and aspect highlight, as well as four framing elements, including problem definition, sources, moral decisions, and problem-solving. The result showed several interesting points. First, all the media analyzed presented news about females’ inability and resources based on the results of various surveys. Second, all news presented an interpretive journalism model that reads and interprets survey data by experts. Third, although they try to deny the patriarchal ideology, the majority present male commentators who review female political communication. This means that ideology still surrounds the three online media studied.Keywords: Female presidential candidates, news, online media, framing analysis ABSTRAKDi tengah kultur patriarkhi, beberapa perempuan menyeruak peta persaingan capres 2004 yang didominasi capres laki-laki. Meski begitu suaranya tidak signifikan, hanya beberapa nama saja yang muncul dihasil survei. Selain affirmative action 30 persen, peran media mendorong pengarusutamaan gender di bidang politik sangat dibutuhkan. Saat ini pemberitaan tentang capres perempuan relatif jarang. Padahal melalui pemberitaan yang masif dan kontinyu, capres perempuan akan diperhitungkan. Di tengah capres perempuan yang jarang diberitakan, penelitian ini menemukan signifikansinya. Bahwa capres perempuan jarang diberitakan dibandingkan capres laki-laki. Penelitianbertujuan menguak berita hasil survei capres perempuan 2024 yang disajikan tirto.id, tempo.co, dan kompas.com. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis framing model Robert Matthew Entman yang memiliki dua dimensi (seleksi isu dan penonjolan aspek) serta empat elemen framing (Pendefinisain masalah, sumber masalah, keputusan moral, dan penyelesaian masalah). Sebagai kesimpulan, penelitian ini menemukan beberapa poin menarik. Pertama, semua media yang diteliti menyajikan berita tentang kekurangmampuan dan sumber daya perempuan yang minim berbasis hasil berbagai survei. Kedua, semua berita menyajikan model jurnalisme interpretatif yang membaca dan menafsirkan data hasil survei oleh para ahlinya. Ketiga, meski mencoba menyangkal ideologi patriarkhi, tetapi mayoritas berita menyajikan komentator laki-laki yang mengulas komunikasi politik perempuan. Artinya, ideologi patriarkhi masih menyelimuti ketiga media online yang diteliti.Kata Kunci: Capres perempuan, berita, media online, analisis framing

Abstract

This study is concerned with discourse semantic analysis of three selected victory speeches of the US Presidents. It was conducted for and aimed at describing, explaining, and analyzing the field, the interpersonal meaning (tenor) the mode of the texts, the schematic structure, and the unity of the texts by using Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) as the basis of analysis. The speech texts were changed into clauses and then analyzed. The results of the analysis found that the register category of field is similar. The transitivity patterns of the grammar, reference, and lexical string analysis share common features that is the realization of experiential action done by the speaker and audience for the progress of America. The interpersonal meaning of the texts is slightly different, in which, Joe Biden and Barack Obama established an intimate relationship with the audience, while in Donald trump’s text, the sense of intimacy and the distance with the audience are far. Since the nominal groups used were simple, the mode of all texts belongs to the spoken mode. Besides, In terms of schematic structure, the texts were constructed similarly consisting of an introduction, body, and conclusion. Finally, this study also found that the anaphoric reference which was predominantly used, a good pattern of conjunction relations, and lexical relations between lexical items appearing cross clauses categorize the texts as being highly cohesive.

Abstract

Online media in disaster mitigation has received much attention from researchers. One of the most widely used online media is Twitter. Twitter is a type of social media that has become an effective medium for communication and socialization. The use of social media by the Government can make it easier for the Government to gather new ideas and opinions from the public, especially in this media. The social case related to Covid-19. This study aims to identify the communication of Covid-19 control policies at the City level, which is carried out through social media communication facilities. Samarinda City Government Twitter Account (@ppid_smr) and Balikpapan City Twitter account (@PemkotBPN). This study uses a qualitative method with a Qualitative Data Analysis (QDA) Miner approach used in the content, network, and cloud analysis using Nvivo 12 Plus software. The findings show that the intensity of each account has provided an overview of how the City Government is disseminating information related to the policies they produce. For the highest total tweet intensity and tweet intensity generated by the Samarinda City Government account @ppid_smr with a reasonably significant difference compared to the Balikpapan City Government account @PemkotBPN. In terms of analyzing the content of information shared related to the Covid-19 pandemic theme, each account has disseminated information directly related to the policy for handling and preventing Covid-19 cases in each city.Keywords: Policy communication, policy controlling, Covid-19, Samarinda, Balikpapan ABSTRAKMedia online dalam mitigasi bencana mendapat banyak perhatian dari para peneliti. Salah satu media online yang paling banyak digunakan adalah Twitter, Twitter merupakan salah satu jenis media sosial yang menjadi media komunikasi dan sosialisasi yang efektif. Penggunaan media sosial oleh pemerintah dapat memudahkan pemerintah untuk mengumpulkan ide-ide baru dan opini baru dari masyarakat, khususnya di media ini. Kasus sosial terkait Covid-19. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi komunikasi kebijakan pengendalian Covid-19 di tingkat Kota yang dilakukan melalui sarana komunikasi media sosial. Akun Twitter Pemkot Samarinda (@ppid_smr) dan akun Twitter Pemkot Balikpapan (@PemkotBPN). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan Qualitative Data Analysis (QDA) Miner yang digunakan dalam analisis konten, jaringan, dan cloud menggunakan software Nvivo 12 Plus. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa intensitas masing-masing akun telah memberikan gambaran bagaimana Pemerintah Kota menyebarluaskan informasi terkait kebijakan yang mereka hasilkan. Total intensitas tweet dan intensitas tweet tertinggi dihasilkan oleh akun Pemkot Samarinda @ppid_smr dengan perbedaan yang signifikan dibandingkan dengan akun Pemkot Balikpapan @PemkotBPN. Dalam hal menganalisis konten informasi yang dibagikan terkait tema pandemi Covid-19, masing-masing akun telah melakukan sosialisasi langsung terkait kebijakan penanganan dan pencegahan kasus Covid-19 di masing-masing kota.Kata Kunci: Komunikasi kebijakan, kebijakan pengendalian, Covid-19, Samarinda, Balikpapan

Abstract

Health workers play a vital role during the COVID-19 pandemic, not only in the health facilities but also as a reference in the media. This role arises from the health workers’ accounts on social media amplified by the mass media and public discourse. This study aims to examine the narratives of doctors’ accounts on social media, responding to the emergency period of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. This study maps and analyzes the narratives of the 10 (ten) doctors’ Twitter accounts in Indonesia during the Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) period from 3 July - 23 August 2021 through qualitative content analysis methods. The spread of the Delta variant virus and a significant increase in active cases, death, and bed occupancy rates were recorded during this period. The study shows that each doctor has a different narrative, with the main issues: vaccination, health protocols, health facilities, case data, and government policies related to the pandemic. Some doctors’ narratives are also a form of public pressure on government policies. This study also notes the phenomenon of “twitting to the press” by the mass media because of social restriction.Keywords: Healthcare professional, Twitter, mobility restriction, Covid-19, Indonesia ABSTRAKTenaga kesehatan memiliki peran penting selama masa pandemi COVID-19. Tak hanya menjadi garda depan dalam memutus mata rantai penyebaran virus, namun juga menjadi rujukan informasi bagi masyarakat melalui kemunculannya di media. Peran ini muncul dari keaktifan tenaga medis di media sosial yang diamplifikasi oleh media massa dan kemudian menjadi wacana publik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melihat narasi para dokter di sosial media, menyikapi masa darurat pandemic Covid-19 di Indonesia. Penelitian ini memetakan dan menganalisis narasi 10 akun Twitter dokter terpopuler di Indonesia selama periode Pemberlakuan Pembatasan Kegiatan Masyarakat (PPKM) Darurat dari 3 Juli - 23 Agustus 2021 melalui metode analisis isi kualitatif. Periode ini ditandai persebaran virus varian Delta dan kenaikan signifikan jumlah kasus aktif, angka kematian, dan tingkat keterisian tenpat tidur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan setiap dokter memiliki narasi yang berbeda dalam merespons kebijakan penanganan COVID-19 di media sosial, dengan isu utama meliputi vaksinasi, penerapan protokol kesehatan, fasilitas kesehatan, data kasus, serta pejabat dan kebijakan pemerintah terkait pandemi. Narasi para dokter juga menjadi bentuk tekanan publik kepada kebijakan pemerintah pemerintah. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mencatat adanya fenomena penerapan twitting to the press oleh media massa sebagai imbas penerapan kebijakan pembatasan sosial.Kata Kunci: Tenaga kesehatan, Twitter, pembatasan mobilitas, Covid-19, Indonesia

Abstract

Lifestyle by using social media and as followers of religion make Generation Z Indonesia must be able to respond to differences. The reality that occurs in Indonesia is Instagram social media is very popular and in accordance with their lifestyle. The Instagram space in its activities facilitates the application of wisdom values   to accept differences that lead to religious moderation for Generation Z. provide religious moderation. Their account builds tolerance by actively, and provides wisdom values   in its content. This researchusing a qualitative study with a virtual ethnographic study. The subject in this study is an Instagram account with the characteristics of having religious moderation content that has a positive impact on followers. Selection of methodology Virtual ethnography can see the way of life of Generation Z in their daily activities using or following social media accounts. The results in this study are social media accounts as the subject of this study provide a strong message strategy for Generation Z. The messages in these accounts are favored by Generation Z in understanding religious moderation because the messages generated pay attention to; messages that are humane and have a positive and good perception can be seen from the comments of the followers. The message that was built made Generation Z more sensitive from the start to understand differences (being moderate, open and tolerant in the midst of differences). Kenyataan yang terjadi di Indonesia media social Instagram sangat disukai dan sesuai dengan gaya hidup mereka. Ruang Instagram dalam aktivitasnya memudahkan penerapan nilai-nilai kearifan untuk menerima perbedaan yang mengarah pada moderasi beragama bagi Generasi Z. Akun @milenialislami.id, @friends_islami, @husein_hadar, ideclare_id, @ yerry_pattinasarany dalam praktik di dalam akun mereka, menjalin diskusi dan aktivitas dalam memberikan moderasi beragama. Akun mereka  membangun toleransi dengan aktif,dan memberikan nilai-nilai kearifan didalam kontennya. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi kualitatif dengan studi etnografi virtual. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah akun Instagram dengan karakteristik memiliki konten moderasi beragama dampak positif bagi pengikutnya. Pemilihan metodologi Etnografi virtual dapat melihat cara hidup generasi Z dalam beraktivitas keseharian menggunakan atau mengikuti akun-akun media sosial. Hasil dalam penelitian ini adalah akun media sosial sebagai subjek penelitian ini memberikan  strategi pesan yang kuatbagi Generasi Z. Pesan-pesan dalam akun tersebut disukai generasi Z dalam memahami moderasi beragama karena pesan yang dihasilkan memperhatikan; pesan yang humanis dan memiliki persepsi yang positif dan baik terlihat dari komentar para follower. Pesan yang dibangun menjadikan generasi Z lebih peka sejak awal mengerti tentang perbedaan (bersikap moderat, terbuka dan toleran ditengah perbedaan). Tahapan dalam membangun pesan yang dilakukan akun-akun tersebut adalah yaitu: tahapan mengkreasi pesan, mengevaluasi pesan, memilih, dan mengimplementasikan pesan dengan detail terlihat dalam jumlah follower yang meningkat.Kata Kunci: Etnografi virtual, Instagram, Generasi Z, moderasi beragama

Abstract

Teaching and learning activities which supported by the Open Library system in Telkom University during COVID-19 pandemic has made the online learning process easier. The readiness of Open Library system has facilitated the learning process which conducted by the users in fulfilling their needs.  The facilities are the online e-catalogue, ask a librarian through social media, virtual discussion room reservation, and literacy online classes.  The Open Library system of Telkom University has turned to be the foremost media in the COVID-19 era.  It also offered the online e-resources services through Whastapp and Instagram related to the information needed by the students and the online books lending to borrow the references. We used descriptive qualitative method. The data collecting was interview and observation. The participated informants to be interviewed were Telkom University students.  The results of this study indicated the Open Library system of Telkom University had encouraged students to maximize the use of Open Library system facilities. Keywords: Online learning, media, open library, students ABSTRAKKegiatan belajar mengajar yang didukung dengan sistem Open Library di Universitas Telkom selama masa pandemi COVID-19 membuat proses pembelajaran online menjadi lebih mudah. Fasilitas yang diberikan oleh Open Library adalah e-katalog online, bertanya kepada pustakawan melalui media sosial, reservasi ruang diskusi virtual, dan kelas literasi online. Sistem Open Library Universitas Telkom menjadi media terdepan di era COVID-19. Selain itu, Open Library menawarkan layanan online e-resources melalui Whastapp dan Instagram terkait informasi yang dibutuhkan mahasiswa dan peminjaman buku online untuk meminjam referensi. Kami menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara dan observasi. Informan yang berpartisipasi untuk diwawancarai adalah mahasiswa Telkom University. Abstract

Health communication has undergone a revolution since the advent of social media, health content is no longer a tool for disseminating health information by medical or health personnel, but has become content that is easily produced by the general public. The purpose of this study is to uncover the implementation of the health revolution through Instagram content. Phenomenological research methods with content analysis, which is strengthened by data mining through Focus Group Discussions and interviews. The results showed that social media made health communication undergo a revolution. The communication process that is formed is a multi-step flow of communication (many stages), even the circulation of information forms a layer layer of stages in communication becomes irregular. This makes people experience more spill over of communication, which changes the culture of health communication in society.Keywords: The revolution of health communication, content, information sharing, social media ABSTRAKKomunikasi kesehatan telah mengalami revolusi sejak hadirnya media sosial, konten kesehatan tidak lagi menjadi alat penyebaran informasi kesehatan oleh tenaga medis atau kesehatan, tapi sudah menjadi konten yang dengan mudah diproduksi oleh masyarakat umum. Tujuan penelitian ini mengungkap implementasi revolusi kesehatan melalui konten instagram. Metode penelitian fenomenologi dengan analisis konten, yang diperkuat dengan penggalian data melalui Focus Group Discussion dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media sosial membuat komunikasi kesehatan mengalami revolusi. Proses komunikasi yang terbentuk adalah multi step flow of communication (banyak tahap), bahkan peredaran informasinya membentuk layer layer tahap dalam komunikasi menjadi tidak teratur. Hal ini membuat masyarakat mengalami more spill over of communication (peluberan informasi yang berlebihan), yang merubah budaya komunikasi kesehatan di masyarakat.Kata Kunci: Revolusi komunikasi kesehatan, konten, peluberan informasi, media sosial

Abstract

This study analyzes public sentiment regarding Luhut Binsar Panjaitan's PCR test pricing policy, using the hashtag #Pecatluhut on Twitter as the primary data source. The research focuses on the period from November 1 to November 10, 2021, and employs Nvivo 12 Plus software for qualitative data analysis. The study reveals significant negative sentiment towards Panjaitan's policy. Specifically, 45.69% of tweets are categorized as moderately negative, while 15.05% are very negative. Conversely, 38.31% are moderately positive and only 0.94% are very positive. The predominant negative sentiment, with a 45% majority in the moderately negative category, indicates substantial public dissatisfaction. The hashtag #Pecatluhut is characterized by numerous instances of public criticism, reflecting widespread disappointment and lack of respect for Panjaitan’s PCR pricing decisions. The analysis also identifies the most frequently used words in the tweets, underscoring the prevalent themes of criticism and discontent regarding the minister’s policies. This research contributes valuable insights into the impact of health policy decisions on public opinion, emphasizing the critical role of social media in shaping and reflecting public sentiment. The findings are particularly relevant in the context of global discussions on health policy transparency and accountability, highlighting the need for policymakers to engage with public feedback and address concerns proactively.Keywords: Trending topic, Twitter, #Pecatluhut, political ethics ABSTRAKStudi ini menganalisis sentimen publik terkait kebijakan harga tes PCR oleh Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, dengan menggunakan tagar #Pecatluhut di Twitter sebagai sumber data utama. Penelitian ini berfokus pada periode 1 hingga 10 November 2021 dan menggunakan perangkat lunak Nvivo 12 Plus untuk analisis data kualitatif. Studi ini mengungkapkan sentimen negatif yang signifikan terhadap kebijakan Panjaitan. Secara khusus, 45,69% tweet dikategorikan sebagai agak negatif, sementara 15,05% sangat negatif. Sebaliknya, 38,31% bersifat agak positif dan hanya 0,94% yang sangat positif. Dominasi sentimen negatif, dengan mayoritas 45% dalam kategori agak negatif, menunjukkan ketidakpuasan publik yang substansial. Tagar #Pecatluhut ditandai dengan banyaknya kritik publik, mencerminkan kekecewaan luas dan kurangnya rasa hormat terhadap keputusan harga PCR oleh Panjaitan. Analisis ini juga mengidentifikasi kata-kata yang paling sering digunakan dalam tweet, yang menekankan tema utama kritik dan ketidakpuasan terhadap kebijakan menteri. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan berharga tentang dampak keputusan kebijakan kesehatan terhadap opini publik, menekankan peran penting media sosial dalam membentuk dan mencerminkan sentimen publik. Temuan ini sangat relevan dalam konteks diskusi global mengenai transparansi dan akuntabilitas kebijakan kesehatan, sekaligus menyoroti pentingnya para pembuat kebijakan untuk berinteraksi dengan umpan balik publik dan secara proaktif menangani kekhawatiran masyarakat.Kata Kunci: Trending topic, Twitter, #Pecatluhut, etika politik
