This study aims to analyze the application of character education in learning biology in Genetic Engineering material at State Senior High School 7 Bengkulu and see what efforts are being made by teachers and schools to instill such character education. This research is qualitative description research with 29 research subjects as grade XII students. The instrument used was in the form of a questionnaire and several interview questions. The results showed that the picture of biology learning character education in Genetic Engineering material in State Senior High School 7 Bengkulu had begun to be embedded but still needed guidance to be more focused on understanding the concepts, impacts, and application of genetic engineering techniques because teachers had not fully applied the teaching methods of character education in class. The picture can be seen in the observation data, questionnaires, and interviews of honest, disciplined, democratic, communicative, and creative values that have begun to develop. Caring, responsibility, and sociality are well entrenched. Independence is still very much needed to be considered while religious have begun to appear. In an effort to create character education attitudes that will be the basis for dealing with scientific and technological progress, the school has also implemented a number of support programs to improve or train character education attitudes

Research has been carried out on the preparation of active natural zeolite impregnated with nickel followed by activity testing through the hydrocracking catalytic reaction of n-Hexadecane. Active natural zeolite was obtained from PT Prima Zeolita Yogyakarta. The nickel concentration in the zeolite sample was carried out by ion exchange method with [Ni(NH3)6]2+ precursor solution with a concentration of 0.06M. The nickel content of the catalyst was determined by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The hydrocracking reaction used a fixed bed reactor system. Ratio of feed (n-Hexadecane) : catalyst = 3 : 1 (in gram). Catalysis study also carried out at various temperatures, from 315oC - 450oC at certain nickel content. The results of the catalytic reaction at each temperature after passing through the cooling system there was a liquid fraction that had been successfully accommodated then weighed and determined the percent of conversion. Furthermore, for the determination of Ea and the order of the reaction using linear regression calculations. The results showed that the catalytic reaction using an active natural Ni-Zeolite catalyst in the n-Hexadecane hydrocracking process resulted in different conversion results depending on the temperature of the catalytic reaction. The largest conversion was obtained at a temperature of 450oC, which was 35.18%. The reaction order was the first-order reaction (n=1). Meanwhile, the activation energy or activation energy (Ea) of the catalytic reaction in the n-Hexadecane hydrocracking process using a natural Ni-Natural zeolite catalyst with a nickel content of 2.0% (w/w) was 127.071 kJmol-1.

The reality shows that instructors and students are having difficulty implementing online science education during the pandemic. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of collaborative flipped learning (CFL) strategy and socio-cognitive ability on metacognitive skills and self-efficacy in primary school pre-service teachers who were currently enrolled in a Basic Science course. This objective was motivated by the current state of education and teaching, which necessitates the use of technology to facilitate learning activities. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group and a 2 x 2 MANOVA inferential statistical test. Prior to undertaking the inferential statistical test, we ran assumption tests, specifically normality and homogeneity analyses. The analysis results showed that there was a discrepancy in metacognitive skills between students in the experimental class who were taught the CFL strategy and those who were instructed the conventional strategy, indicated by an Fcalculated value of 11.299 and a significance value of 0.001. The analysis results also showed that there was a significant difference in metacognitive skills between students with high socio-cognitive ability and those with poor socio-cognitive ability, indicated by an Fcalculated value of 39.9724 and a significance value of 0.000. It was also found that the interaction between the learning strategy and socio-cognitive ability influenced students’ metacognitive skills. These findings suggest that educators should consider cognitive and social factors while implementing the collaborative flipped learning strategy to help students enhance their metacognitive skills
