Abstract

Cosmetics are one of the women's basic needs, but several cosmetic products on the market use synthetic dyes such as Rhodamine B, which cause various risks dangerous to health. Natural dyes are non-toxic, renewable, and environmentally friendly, one of which is anthocyanins found in dragon fruit peel. Blush-on is a cosmetic containing a dye that women often use. This study aimed to determine that the dragon fruit peel ethanolic extract can be used as a natural dye in blush-on compact powder preparations with good physical quality. Blush-on was made with various concentrations of dragon fruit peel ethanol extract of 20% (F1), 25% (F2), and 30% (F3). The preparations were observed for organoleptic and homogeneity, pH value, friability, and hedonic test during four weeks of storage, with descriptive data analysis. The results showed that dragon fruit peel extract blush-on did not meet some of the physical quality test requirements for blush-on. It is because the color of the blush-on should be red. However, the color of the preparation is white to brownish, and the preparation is also fragile. The preparation meets the requirements of homogeneity and pH value according to the physiological pH of the skin. It remains stable for four weeks of storage. F1 is the most preferred by panelists based on a preference test for the preparation's shape, color, and odor. Dragon fruit peel extract blush-on has not yet fulfilled its function as a decorative cosmetic to give color to the skin

Abstract

The Merdeka Belajar policy essentially aims to accelerate the achievement of national goals of education. One of the major changes in the policy is the implementation of the National Assessment (NA) which substitutes national exams and changes the focus of assessment into literacy and numeracy skills. This leads to a demand for teacher to adapt learning process and classroom assessment for facilitating students’ literacy and numeracy skills. Therefore, teacher understanding about the element in national assessment is a very important factor in the implementation of National Assessment. As the response, this study collects data about teacher understanding from 100 elementary and junior high school teachers in the Kuningan Regency area. The results shows that the elementary and junior high school teachers already have a good understanding of the objectives of NA and awareness that the implementation of NA would have an impact on providing a more varied learning and assessment experience. However, it is shown that the good understanding and awareness is not supported by capability to develop literacy and numeracy questions. The support for improving capability in making questions that align with the NA is needed in order to provide appropriate measurement and assessment of student learning outcomes and provide the basis for decision making in the classroom learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to compare packaged and bulk cooking oils. The FTIR test, viscosity, density, acid number, and organoleptic are all used as research methods. With FTIR results on the C-H spectral group of alkanes seen at 1463.78 cm-1 and 1743.63 cm-1, and the tertiary C=O ester group of triglyceride seen at 1743.66 cm-1 and 1743.63 cm-1. It was determined that bulk cooking oil includes more hydrogen and double bonds than packaged cooking oil. Bulk cooking oil viscosity testing with packaging showed that it was between 38 and 37 MPa, had densities of 0.92 and 0.90 gr/ml, and acid numbers of 0.18 and 0.11 mg of potassium hydroxide. Packaged cooking oil has a more appealing aroma than bulk cooking oil, and both have a sticky flavor. Bulk cooking oil is dark, but packaged oil is yellow. According to the study of the test results, bulk cooking oil is of lower quality and has a greater impact than packaged oil.

Abstract

This study conducted a quasi experiment to investigate the effectiveness of scaffolding worksheet on students’ scientific explanation. A total of 30 participants were randomly assigned into two groups. One class is the experimental class that received of scaffolding worksheet and one other class as the control class. The comparative analysis results revealed that scaffolding explanation worksheets are effective in improving students’ science explanation skills. The average score of scientific explanation of students in experimental class and control class is 69.10 and 53.00. Regarding the SOLO taxonomic classification, in spite of the fact that the experimental class students on average exceeded the control class students, it can be seen that some students in the experimental class were still at the prestructural and unistructural levels. The incorrect timing to remove scaffolds and misusage of scaffolding worksheet were two possible reasons behind the failure of fading scaffolding practice

Abstract

Misconception is a conception of someone who is not by scientific concepts recognized by experts. One way to identify students' misconceptions is by conducting tests using diagnostic instruments. This study aims to identify misconceptions in chemistry learning as well as the most widely used types of multiple-tier diagnostic instruments. The research method used is a systematic literature review (SLR) by analyzing relevant research results from the Google Scholar and ERIC databases of 47 articles based on their suitability with the research theme within the last seven years (2016-2022). The systematic literature review method reviews articles systematically by following the steps that have been determined. The research findings show that students' misconceptions mostly occur in the buffer solution material with the most widely used diagnostic instrument, namely the three-tier multiple-choice (50%). The dominant cause of students' chemical misconceptions occurs due to students' internal factors in the form of a mismatch between students' preconceptions and the concepts taught by experts and strategies for applying learning models that are often used as a method to reduce students' chemical misconceptions such as the application of the Dual Situated Learning Model (DSLM) as well as implementing the Elicit, Confront, Identify, Resolve, Reinforce (ECIRR) model.
