Abstract

The absence of the hand causes the disruption of organ function, this problem later emerged prosthetic as a tool for replacement of missing body parts. Basically prosthetic hand has two functions: as cosmetics and as a functional tool. The most important functional aspects of prosthetic hands is the ease of operation that can be seen from the magnitude of tensile force required by prosthetic hand while doing the a movement. The mechanism of motion system that is widely used by prosthetic hand is a cross cable system and cross bar system. Cross cable systems using cable to connect components that act as links knuckles on hand, when the withdrawal event of the cable happened, the cable will be tightened and the movement of the fingers may occur. Cross bar systems uses bar (rigid link) as a puller, so when withdrawal event of the rope at the end of the lever happened, the bar that connects the components with a finger lever puller will push or pull bar so that the finger will open or close. Prosthetic design significantly influence the magnitude of the dynamic tensile strength that makes it necessary to make an experiments to compare the design of motion mechanisms of cross cable systems and cross bar system, and evaluate the influence on the magnitude of the dynamic tensile force at the time of movement, so it can represent the natural movement of normal human fingers.

Abstract

Sartika Swalayan as one of the supermarket and place for the detergent product market has an important role in meeting the needs and desires of consumers, so consumers are satisfied using the detergent product. Therefore, Sartika Supermarkets must do a good marketing strategy and know the products it sells, including the sale of detergent products. To know and analyze the detergent product sales next period can use markov chain analysis, while for consumers to know that many groups use a certain brand of detergent to use biplot analysis is to find out more attributes prioritized by most consumers in choosing a particular brand of detergent. From the research results can be seen that brand switching and the highest sales for October and November are held by Rinso detergent brand that is equal to 26%, 24%, 25% as compared to other brands of detergent such as So-klin (22%, 19%, 17% ), Surf (14%, 17%, 15%), Daia (11%, 10%, 8%), Attack (20%, 21%, 31%), B-29 (4%, 5%, 2% ) and other brand (3%, 4%, 2%), so that the detergent is widely used by consumers are brand Rinso Sartika Supermarkets. Pricing and content of detergents is the first ranking into consideration the consumer into buying detergent.

Abstract

Relevant markets definition is a crucial issue on anti-monopoly enforcement in many countries. The general approach of SSNIP (small but significant and non-transitory increase of price) is hardly applied to some cases, especially to a retail industry case. This descriptive research is trying to explore a possibility of using surveys to define a relevant market of supermarket services in Indonesia. Surveys were done to the consumers of supermarkets in Jakarta and five big cities outside Jakarta. Moreover it focuses on one of the biggest supermarket in Indonesia namely Carrefour and its competitors inside the geographical relevant markets. From these surveys, it is found that the relevant market of supermarket in Indonesia might include hypermarket and minimarket type of retails in Jakarta but only include hypermarket type of retails outside Jakarta. The difference is defined by significant number of the consumers who are choose minimarket as a substitute of supermarkets in Jakarta. This number is not quite significant in others five big cities outside Jakarta.

Abstract

Levels of prosperity of an area is measured by income per capita. Income per capita is derived from regional income divided by mid-year population number. In Srgaen Regency, income per capita amongdistricts very different significanly so a reaserch is needed to know the causes of this variability. In general, many factors affect the income per capita and each factor may have different effect in form of relationship and level of contribution. To solve these problems this reaserch used econometric which is the result of a certain outlook on the role of economics, consists of the application of mathematical statistics to economic data to lend empirical support to the models constructed by mathematical economics and to obtain numerical results. Panel data which is a combination of data type cross-section and times series is used in this study. To combine the indicators variables that have different units is used factor analysis. Regression model pooled least square (PLS), fixed effect, and random effect was tested to get the most representative models describing the relationship between income per capita and the factors that influence. From the analysis it shown that not all district have the same model. Thus the Government of Sragen Regency can treatment on different district based on the factors that influence and encourage these factors so that the income per capita is increasing.

Abstract

This research utilizes the rearrangement on trip frequency of Batik Solo Trans as the solution for increasing their daily revenue. The first phase of the trip rearrangement is identifying peak hours of Batik Solo Trans and analyzing data distribution of passengers’ quantity. Next, Monte Carlo simulation is applied for evoking the passenger quantity data as the basis on trip frequency calculation. There are three types of trip frequency which are calculated, minimum, maximum and service frequency. The service frequency is a threshold between revenue and operational cost. At the last phase, sensitivity analysis is applied on service frequency calculation. This research shows that a suggested frequency (service frequency) could be applied when tariff for a passengers and passenger quantity are remaining unchanged. Besides, if Batik Solo Trans still use the old trip frequency, it’s suggested that Batik Solo Trans considers rising the tariff.

Abstract

This research was carried out on one of the fertilizer industry. This industry have numerous itemof machine spare part. The problem concerned with machine spare parts controlling which is theordering of them are done separately, that makes inventory cost and order frequency become quite high. Therefore, inventory control of machine spare part will be done by using a coordinated ordering system with model of can-order policy. Parameters determination (S,c,s) was held on 7 items of machine spare part that was ordered from 1 supplier with using algorithm can order policy. Then, the total cost of inventory was calculated based on parameter of can order and will be compared with existing company system using monte carlo simulation. This comparing result shows the model of can order policy is more efficient to control machine spare part inventory which saving 52 % than the total inventory cost using existing company system.

Abstract

A company or business entity is required to perform the activities effectively and efficiently. The economic condition of the enterprise develop rapidly between companies or business entities get stiff competition. In the face of competition, companies need planning and cost control, especially in distribution transport logistics. One way that can do is to reduce operating costs, especially in terms of logistic distribution, logistic distribution costs which are rarely considered. The study was conducted at the home industry manufacturing know Sentra Industry Tahu, Mojosongo RW 03, Surakarta. The problem that occurs is unoptimalization product distribution that due to limited fleet which causes inefficient distribution activities in terms of time and cost. Of the issues raised, there are vehicles used alternative is to use motorcycles and cars, both for new vehicles and used vehicles. To find an alternative use can be done by calculating the net persent value and payback period. Based on the calculation of NPV and PBP is known that the chosen alternative is to increase the company's investment in the form of the addition of used cars as a consistent supporter of logistic distribution with the NPV was Rp. 426.548.000,00 and the return on investment amounted was for 3 months 17 days

Abstract

One of the biggest barier which faced by company to apply total quality is cultural barricade. Many company try to implement total quality , entangling employees at all level with providing training to guarantee employees to be skilled, where this matter is done just to flatten their ability. There is no effort to make a freshment in doing something. In other words, there is no effort to change company culture.

Abstract

The manufacturing production process that is currently trend is short-run. Short-run process is a job shop and a just in-time. These causes the process parameters to be unknown due to unavailability of data and generally a small amount of product. The control chart is one of the control charts which  designed for the short run. The procedure of the control chart follows the concept of succesive difference and under the assumption of the multivariate Normal distribution. The sensitivity level of a control chart is evaluated based on the average run length (ARL) value. In this study, the ARL value was calculated based on the shift simulation of the average vector by recording the first m-point out of the control limits. The average vector shift simulation of the target () is performed simultaneously with the properties of a positive shift (=+ δ). Variations of data size and many variables in this study were m = 20, 50 and p = 2, 4, 8, respectively. Each scheme (a combination of δ, m and p) is iterated 250,000 times. The simulation results show that for all schemes when both parameters are known ARL0 ≈ 370. But, when parameters are unknown, ARL1 turn to smaller. This conclusion also implied when the number of p and n are increased, it reduce the sensitivity of the control chart.
