Abstract

The objective of the research was to find out the effectiveness of using cartoon movie toward students’ vocabulary mastery at the seventh grade of SMPN2 Kota Serang. The researcher used quantitative research by applying true experimental design for conducting the research. The population of this research was the seventh grade students of SMPN 2 Kota Serang. The sample of this research was the students of VII A as experimental class and VII B as control class. Each class consisted of 37 students. The classes were chosen by cluster random sampling from ten classes. In collecting the data, the researcher conducted pre-test and post-test. Pre-test was given to the classes before treatment. Then treatment was given only to experimental class for two meetings. Post-test was given to the classes after treatment. In analyzing the data, the researcher used T-test. The result of the calculation showed that is tcount   (20.2) is higher than ttable  (1.99). It means that null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and alterative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Therefore, cartoon movie is  effective on the students’ vocabulary mastery at the seventh grade of SMPN 2 Kota Serang and one of the media which is can help the students in solving their problem in learning English vocabulary. In addition, cartoon movie can make the students enthusiastic, interested, and enjoy in learning English vocabulary.

Abstract

Penggunaan teknologi pendidikan menjadi permasalahan umum yang dihadapi guru dan siswa didik, salah satunya di Lembaga Pendidikan berbasis Pesantren. Faktor penyebab kurang berkembangnya penggunaan teknologi pendidikan salah satunya adalah cara pandang lembaga pendidikan yang hanya berfokus terhadap kurikulum pendidikan Agama. Kurangnya sarana prasarana serta sumber daya manusia juga menjadi kendala dalam penggunaan teknologi. Sehingga perlu pelatihan dan peningkatan pengetahuan khususnya di lembaga pendidikan Islam berbasis Pondok Pesantren. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut, dapat dirumuskan masalah sebagai berikut: 1) Pentingnya menumbuhkan kesadaran Yayasan, Guru, dan Santri akan pentingnya penggunaan teknologi pendidikan 2) Bagaimana solusi cerdas mempelajari bahasa Arab dengan Tepat dan efisien di era revolusi Pendidikan. Sedangkan tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk: 1) Menumbuhkan kesadaran Yayasan, Guru, dan santri akan pentingnya aplikasi Think Qur’an. 2) Memberikan keterampilan kepada guru dan santri untuk menggunakan teknologi Pendidikan aplikasi Think Qur’an. Penulis mencari informasi pustaka melalui membaca jurnal ilmiah, buku-buku referensi, karya ilmiah yang relevan dan berbagai hasil penelitian yang aktual. Dari hasil pengabdian Masyarakat ini dapat disimpulkan :1) Think Qur’an sangat efektif untuk dijadikan solusi dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Arab, 2) Think Qur’an merupakan salah upaya inovatif yang mempermudah siswa dan guru dalam mempelajari bahasa Arab. 3) Demonstrasi permainan dan kuis mempermudah guru dan siswa dalam menggunakan aplikasi Think Qur’an.

Abstract

The development of religious and moral values is the ability of early childhood to act and behave according to the religious and moral values he/she embraced. This study aims to find out the effect of using Youtube to instill religious and moral values for early childhood in Kober El Karim, and to find out the benefits of using Youtube for early childhood in Kober El Karim. The method used in this study is a qualitative under a phenomenological approach. The results of this study showed that the use of Youtube has an effect to instill religious and moral values for early childhood in Kober El Karim in the form: the early childhoods read basmalah in every activity, the early childhoods feel more enthusiastic to pray before and after studying, before and after eating snacks, and before going home. In addition, the early childhoods try to tell honestly and maintain noble characters while at school. In addition, the use of Youtube for early childhoods at Kober El Karim is useful in fostering their creativity according to what they watch, developing their motor aspect, and increasing their linguistic vocabulary. In conclusion, the use of Youtube has positive effect to instill religious and moral values for the early childhoods in Kober El Karim, Ciamis Regency.

Abstract

Good nutritional intake is very important to support the growth and development of school-aged children. However, consumption of vegetables and fruit among school-aged children is very low. Therefore, educational media is needed to influence knowledge, attitudes and behavior in consuming vegetables and fruit. This research aimed to determine the effect of nutrition education using video on knowledge, attitudes and consumption of vegetables and fruit. This research was an experimental research with a quasi experimental design with pre test - post test with a sample of 62 grade 4 students at Pasirkaliki 156 Elementary School Bandung. Analysis of mean differences before and after intervention used Wilcoxon Test (data is not normally distributed). Mann Whitney test was used to see the difference between control and treatment groups (P<0.05 and CI 95%). There was a significant difference in students' knowledge scores between before and after being given nutrition education in the two groups. In this study, there was an increase in the average knowledge score of 2.94 points in the treatment group and 2.35 points in the control group. Attitude score average was increase 3.29 points in treatment group and 3.29 points in control group. However, changes in the average consumption of vegetables and fruit in the treatment group were lower than the control group. The research showed that animated video and power point media can be used to increase elementary school students' knowledge regarding vegetable and fruit consumption.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the effect of using gadget on instilling religious and moral values for early childhood in Kober El Karim, and to find out the benefits of using gadget for early childhood in Kober El Karim. The method used in this study is a qualitative under a phenomenological approach. The results of the present study show that the early childhoods’ religious and moral values are seen in the form of reading basmalah in beginning every activity, saying a prayer before and after learning, before and after eating snacks, and before going home. Besides, the early childhoods also speak the truth and maintain their noble deeds while they are at school and at home. In addition, the benefits of using gadget to early childhood will be: gadget is able to generate the early childhood’s self-confidence, gadget is able to foster the early childhood’s creativity according to what he/she watched, gadget is able to develop early childhood’s fine and gross motor skills, gadget is able to increase the early childhood’s linguistic skill through increasing his/her vocabularies based on the materials he/she watched.

Abstract

Science literacy is an essential skill that students must have to face future challenges, such as solving problems, participating intelligently in science issues, understanding the nature of science, and appreciating the impact and benefits of science. Science literacy also includes critical thinking skills that support scientific-based decision-making. Evaluating student learning outcomes is an effective way to measure the extent to which this science literacy is mastered. This study aims to 1) evaluate the learning outcomes of grade 9 students of SMPN 1 Cimaung on biotechnology material and 2) assess the importance of mastering science literacy in the material. The research method used is a quantitative approach with an instrument in the form of a written test consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions. The study results showed that students' mastery of biotechnology material was still below expectations. Of the 30 students who were the subjects of the study, only 3.33 % obtained the highest score, while only 6.67 % were able to exceed the Minimum Completion Criteria of 75. The average student score was 57.33, indicating their mastery of biotechnology concepts is still weak. These findings highlight the need to improve the learning methods and approaches used, such as contextual and experiential learning, to improve students' scientific literacy. This study is expected to be a reference for developing more effective and innovative teaching strategies and encourage further research in this area. Abstrak. Literasi sains merupakan kemampuan esensial yang harus dimiliki siswa untuk menghadapi tantangan masa depan, seperti memecahkan masalah, berpartisipasi secara cerdas dalam isu-isu sains, memahami sifat-sifat sains, serta menghargai dampak dan manfaat sains. Literasi sains juga mencakup kemampuan berpikir kritis yang mendukung pengambilan keputusan berbasis ilmiah. Evaluasi hasil belajar siswa menjadi cara efektif untuk mengukur sejauh mana literasi sains ini dikuasai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mengevaluasi hasil belajar siswa kelas 9 SMPN 1 Cimaung pada materi bioteknologi, dan 2) menilai pentingnya penguasaan literasi sains dalam materi tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan instrumen berupa tes tertulis yang terdiri dari 20 soal pilihan ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan materi bioteknologi oleh siswa masih di bawah harapan. Dari 30 siswa yang menjadi subjek penelitian, hanya 3,33 persen yang memperoleh nilai tertinggi, sementara hanya 6,67 persen yang mampu melampaui Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) sebesar 75. Rata-rata nilai siswa berada pada angka 57,33, yang menandakan masih lemahnya penguasaan konsep bioteknologi. Temuan ini menyoroti perlunya perbaikan dalam metode pembelajaran dan pendekatan yang digunakan, seperti pembelajaran berbasis kontekstual dan pengalaman, untuk meningkatkan literasi sains siswa. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi pengembangan strategi pengajaran yang lebih efektif dan inovatif, serta mendorong penelitian lanjutan di bidang ini.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to ascertain how the talking stick learning model, which is backed by Wordwall, affects primary school science students' critical thinking abilities.The background of this study is rooted in the low level of students' critical thinking skills in understanding abstract science concepts, as well as the dominance of conventional teaching methods that often do not encourage active student involvement. This model is a form of cooperative learning that emphasizes active student participation by taking turns answering questions using sticks. In this study, the model is combined with wordwall, a digital interactive platform that offers educational games as a trigger in the learning process. This study uses a free-experimental method with a pretest-posttes. The subjects of the study involved 5th grade students of SDN Padasuka 01. The instrument used was a critical thinking test based on descriptive questions that had gone through a validation and reliability process. Pretest and posttest scores differed significantly, according to the results of data analysis using the paired simple t test. Thus, the talking stick learning model supported by wordwall has demonstrated efficacy in enhancing pupils' critical thinking abilities, active involvement, analytical skills, and argumentation.

Abstract

This study aims to develop students' scientific performance with the help of guided inquiry-based learner worksheets (LKPD) in developing students' scientific skills in making briquettes from corncob waste and coffee grounds. The issue of low utilization of agricultural waste and lack of integration of real context in chemistry learning. The method used was pre-experimental with a One-Shot Case Study design, involving three groups of students in class XI Industrial Chemical Engineering. The assessment focused on the six stages of guided inquiry, namely observation, formulating problems, making hypotheses, conducting experiments, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that student activity reached 90.3 while scientific skills showed excellent results, with scores between 83-91.7. This is a novelty with the application of guided inquiry-based worksheets in a real context, namely the processing of organic waste into briquettes, which has not been widely explored in chemistry learning. This finding shows that applying LKPD in making corn stover and coffee grounds briquettes with a guided inquiry learning model is proven effective in developing students' scientific skills.

Abstract

Bullying is an action of verbal and non-verbal violences done repeatedly by a person to another. This study aims to determine the forms of bullying carried out by early childhood and teachers’ strategies applied to overcome bullying behavior in preschool education. The method used in this study is a qualitative under a descriptive approach. The findings of the present study show that bullying carried out by early childhoods is in the forms of aggressive and negative actions such as kicking, pinching, hitting, taunting, and pushing friends. In addition, the strategies used by the teachers to prevent bullying behavior to the early childhood are carried out through several steps: (1) the teachers conducted anti-bullying during the teaching and learning process through storytelling method using hand puppet as media related to bullying material, (2) the teachers invited the early childhoods to sing the song to know anti-bullying, (3) the teachers communicated to the parents about the dangers of bullying, (4) the teachers invited the parents to understand well their early childhood’s character, (5) the teachers invited the parents to participate in parenting program, (6) the teachers advised and supervised the early childhoods when they are at school, (7) the teachers provided strict policy against bullying behavior. In conclusion, bullying behavior can be prevented earlier through instilling character education and implement seven strategies such as mentioned above.
