Abstract

Prambanan Temple in Yogyakarta is one of Indonesia's most meaningful and historic cultural heritages. One of the most impressive elements of the temple is the Kresnayana Relief, which depicts the epic story of Lord Vishnu transforming into Kresna. This relief has high artistic and historical value, but understanding and appreciation of the story is often limited. This research aims to design an interactive media that combines visual language with modern technology, focusing on the Kresnayana Relief. Through literature studies, surveys, interviews, and visual art analysis, we understand the story of the Kresnayana Relief and the interest of visitors to Prambanan Temple in interactive media. The result of this research is an interactive media prototype designed to provide an immersive experience in understanding the Kresnayana Relief story. The prototype includes a user-friendly interface, visual animation, narration, and audio elements that aim to enhance visitors' understanding and appreciation of this relief.

Abstract

The prevalence of comedy and satirical programming on television and online platforms has contributed to a growing divide between entertainers (musicians) and their audiences, with the former offering guidance, criticism, and a reflection of everyday life through their work. As far as the researchers's search and exploration, there are still a few who examine and can even be said to rarely relate music through the culture of Karungut and Deder song, a culture that exists and lives in Dayak Ngaju, Central Kalimantan. This research is interesting because besides music as a fun strategy, Deder song as local wisdom is an expression of the daily life of the Dayak people in Central Kalimantan. This song contains advice, satire, advice and is still present today as part of the richness of world civilization. Lantunan Deder is presented in traditional events (weddings, welcoming guests and various Manasai dances that include men and women in rhythm or balance). Participation in Lantunan Deder has become interesting as a strategy for learning about the content of Christian religious education lessons in schools, living rooms and churches. The usefulness is more about the love of culture, God also sensitizes the participation of women and men as part of the sustainable development goals (SGDs). The research method used 4D model development with analysis and validation space and considered diversity, and song structure. The results showed that Deder as method, strategy, development, cultural actualization, as well as an instrument rarely done in the learning process of Christian religious education and researchers conducted direct practice in the field by melting Deder chants with the learning process which resulted in the creativity of students as actors and user subjects as well as cultural preservation subjects for Ngaju Dayak culture.

Abstract

The Ramayana story reliefs in the Prambanan temple, which are considered artifacts of the past, not only present information about the heroic Ramayana story, but also present a way of drawing that was considered modern at that time. The way of drawing done by the carvers is very distinctive, which is very different from the modern way of drawing or the Western naturalist-perspective-momentopname drawing system. With the typical way of drawing, the carvers can tell many events in one relief panel. The scenes depicted in the relief panels are the embodiment of selected scenes in the Old Javanese Ramayana literature. The transformation from literature into a relief story is similar to a movie derived from a novel. Filmic in the relief of the story can be seen in the selection of the right scene in the literature and the series of scenes arranged into a unified story. The carvers at that time tried to draw the character of each character according to their imagination and used a unique way of drawing. This way of drawing is used to examine the reliefs of the Ramayana story at Prambanan Shiva temple. This research uses qualitative methods and data is obtained through observation and literature review. Research to reveal how to draw the main character and the arrangement of each object based on the Old Javanese Ramayana literature. From the results of the analysis, it can be seen that the previous sculptors have described the character and relief depiction of the Ramayana story by adjusting to the existing literature. The Ramayana story reliefs in the Prambanan temple, which are considered artifacts of the past, not only present information about the heroic Ramayana story, but also present a way of drawing that was considered modern at that time. Abstract

This work is the manifestation of the transformation of Zaimie bin Sahibil™s painting, Barracuda Series, into musical form. The Barracuda Series painting presents the beauty and richness of the ocean bed as a utopian paradigm of the maritime ecology of the coastal community of Sabah, Malaysia. The composer was inspired by his own aesthetic experience when appreciating the painting. This aesthetic experience became the material object that was treated with the concept of media transposition and turned into a musical composition. The media transposition was implemented through the interpretation and transformation of the external and internal structural levels of the Barracuda Series painting. These elements were adapted to create musical elements as a form of innovation in the way the composition was created. the creation of this work involved a number of work stages that were implemented constructively through a method of creation. These stages included: an analysis of data sources, experimentation, contemplation, composition, and formation. The work process utilized the results of extra-aesthetic interpretation and intra-aesthetic transformation to create an innovative musical text. The musical composition Tornado in the Sea uses the instrumentation of piano, violin, and kalimba. The stages of creation included an analysis of data sources, experimentation, contemplation, arrangement, formation, and execution.

Abstract

Music, as part of culture, is often seen as something that only plays a complementary role in life. In fact, if explored in depth, there are many things stored in the music, which are worthy of in-depth study. Music has deposits that describe the natural state of mind, environment, culture and existence of the owner of the music. In general, the essence of music is a sound engineering event. If it is related to sound, then it is enjoyed by hearing. However, in the archipelago in general, and Sumatra in particular, music has become something that is enjoyed by "watching". This is the impact of an evolution from a situation that we have slowly, but have come quite far from, experienced. This article will try to explain the evolution experienced by music from the perspective of art as an object and subject. For example, take the case of music in North Sumatra in general.

Abstract

This paper discusses the problem of Conflict Analysis between the art group Tuah Sarumpun and the Government of Nagari Limau Lunggo, Lembang Jaya District, Solok Regency. This case occurred because of the disharmonious communication between the Nagari government and the Tuah Sarumpun group. This problem continued and escalated when the Nagari government established a new group by providing facilities and financial support to ensure the health of the group. This triggered a conflict between the two camps. However, the conflict had a positive impact. For sanggar Tuah Sarumpun, the conflict can help maintain their social structure in the community. In fact, the conflict can also unite group members and reaffirm their group as members of sanggar Tuah Sarumpun. Their group identity as members of sanggar Tuah Sarumpun is positive. This research is classified as qualitative research that produces descriptive data. Related to that, the data collection methods used were interviews, observations, document studies, and group discussions. For the analysis of the main study is using conflict theory. As Corser (2010: 126) says, conflict is not only seen from the negative side, but positively conflict helps maintain social structures. Also, conflict can positively strengthen groups.

Abstract

Music education is a realm of study concerned with the teaching and learning of music. This music education will develop affective, motor skills in students who play instruments and expand cognitive development through reasoning and interpretation of musical notation. However, many people still underestimate music education. In the education and teaching system of music arts, especially in the last years of the 20th century, new methods emerged. One of the methods that will be discussed is the Tonika-Do Method. This article is a type of literature study and uses the exposition method in presenting the concepts contained in previous studies. The sources used contain the results of discussions about art education, music, and music education. The application of fixed "do" is not carried out as it should be from the meaning of fixed "do" itself. The reading system used in this lesson is not an fixed "do", but a system taken from the basic idea of an fixed "do" system, where 'Do' is not understood as a C, D, E note or something else, but is more understood as a number 1, which is the tone of writing in numerical notation. This fixed œdo reading system is carried out with the aim of avoiding moving 1 ('do') which is generally found in how to read numerical notation, which of course tends to make it difficult for students in a notation recognition. The learning process can include practicing the C scale, followed by the chromatic scale, etude, then entering the song.
