Indonesian Journal of Science and Mathematics Education is a journal which is managed by Research and Scientific Publication Unit collaborate with Physics Education Department of UIN Raden Intan Lampung. Indonesian Journal of Science and Mathematics Education is a medium of communication used by researchers, lecturers, teachers, practitioners, and University student for submitting result of studies and prioritized result of research in the field of science and mathematics education, include: development of instruments of evaluation science and mathematics, development of instructional media science and mathematics, and the development of learning model of science and mathematics. First published in 2018 and regularly published three (3) times a year, in March, July and November.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif menggunakan lectora inspire berbasis metode problem solving pada materi usaha dan pesawat sederhana kelas VIII,  mengetahui kelayakan serta respon dari pendidik dan peserta didik. Metode Penelitian ini R and D yang mengadopsi pengembangan dari Borg and Gall. Penelitian ini dilakukan di tiga sekolah yaitu  SMP Islam El-Syihab, SMP Tirtayasa, dan MTS Darul Huda di Bandar Lampung. Sehingga didapatkan hasil  media pembelajaran interaktif menggunakan lectora inspire berbasis metode problem solving pada materi usaha dan pesawat sederhana kelas VIII dengan kelayakan media sangat layak dengan persentase 81% berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi, dan ahli media 95% dengan kriteria sangat layak dhingga tahap akhir setelah perbaikan dan memanarikan  dengan persentase 97%  dan respon siswa 88,28% dengan kriteria sangat layakPengembangan Media Pembelajaran Interaktif Berbasis Problem Solving Menggunakan Lectora Inspire

Abstract

Weak learning process is one of the problems in education. Therefore, to create the ideal learning process, interactive teaching materials are needed to make student-centered learning.This study aims to describe and analyze teacher and student responses to the development of guided inquiry students worksheets, as well as see their effectiveness in growing critical thinking skills and student communication skills. The research method used is the Mix method with Research and Development type. The instrument used in the form of a feasibility questionnaire and tests of critical thinking skills and communication skills. Based on the research results obtained that the development of worksheets got very valid results from the validators, got very good responses from teachers and students and proven able to foster critical thinking and communication skills.

Abstract

Learning in the industrial era 4.0 requires innovation in the development of teaching materials. The purpose of this research is to develop a valid and attractive Alqurun Teaching Model (ATM) teaching material for learning trigonometry. This research was a development research using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. Data were collected using a questionnaire. The small group test was conducted by 9 respondents and the large group test was carried out by 12 respondents. The results showed that based on material experts, this teaching material received a feasibility score of 4.06, 4.78 from media experts, and 4.19 from linguists, all of which indicated that this teaching material was in the very feasible category. The results of the small and large group tests showed a score of 3.36 and 4.21, meaning that this teaching material was very interesting. So, it can be concluded that this teaching material can be used in learning trigonometry.

Abstract

The aims of this study are to find out the view of the validator on learning Sparkol media, to find out the students’ views on learning the Sparkol media, to know the effectiveness of learning by using Sparkol learning media. This research and development used the ADDIE research model. Media development based on Sparkol Videoscribe using Research and Development with Addie model which has 5 stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Student responses to the feasibility of learning media with Sparkol show that this media is feasible and attractive to students. The effectiveness of learning using Sparkol Videoscribe-based mathematics learning media was tested in the range , this result shows that the category is quite effective.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode STEM terhadap literasi matematis dan multiple intteligences. Metode penelitian menggunakan desain faktorial 2x3. Teknik pengumpulan data meng­guna­kan tes essay kemampuan literasi matematika dan angket multiple intelligences. Analisis data dengan uji normalitas, homogenitas dan uji hipotesis menggunakan ANOVA dua jalur dengan SPSS Software 17.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh kemampuan literasi matematis mahasiswa dengan menggunakan metode STEM dan non-STEM dengan metode STEM lebih baik daripada non-STEM.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the learning strategies used by students in working on PISA assessments characterized by local culture. The method used in this study was descriptive using qualitative data. The results of the study showed that the rehearsal strategy and organization strategy were used by all class classifications of high, medium and low classes. However, in the high class, the rehearsal strategy was used in all students while in the low class the rehearsal strategy was only used in certain numbers. For the elaboration strategy it only appears in the medium class. Whereas metacognitive strategy is only seen in a low class. In terms of local culture, after working on the questions given, there were previously unknown tourism which later became known such as the Makam Mbah Batu, Kampung Wisata Kungkuk, Arboretum, etc. In addition, they claimed to be more interested in visiting existing tourism, especially tourism that they just found out from the assessment.

Abstract

Tujuan dari Penelitian ini yaitu mengembangkan media explosion box berbasis edutainment pada pembelajaran matematika.  Prosedur pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model 4D. Prosedur yang digunakan ada 4 langkah yaitu define, design, development, dissemination. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sebuah media pembelajaran matematika yang telah dinyatakan valid dan layak digunakan secara keseluruhan sebagai media pembelajaran oleh 3 Ahli materi yang memperoleh skor rata-rata 3,8 dan 3 Ahli media yang memperoleh skor rata-rata 3,77  dengan masing-masing skor maksimal kevalidan adalah 4. Sedangkan uji kemenarikan media pembelajaran dinyatakan “Sangat Menarik” oleh uji kelompok kecil yang memperoleh  skor rata-rata 3,8 dan uji kelompok besar dengan skor ratarata 3,52 dengan masing-masing skor maksimal kemenarikan adalah 4. Hasil penilaian uji efektivitas dengan menggunakan rumus efect size dinyatakan cukup efektif dengan skor 0,68, Sehingga dapat disimpulkan pengembagan media pembelajaran yang dihasilkan dinyatakan layak dan cukup efektif dan dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran matematika

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the application of classification card media to the learning achievement. This research is a quasi-experimental study. The population of this research is the students of class X Science of SMA Negeri 7 Kerinci. The sample class is students of Class X Science 1 as an experimental class and Class X Science 2 as a control class. The research instrument is a test with objective questions. The final test result data were analyzed using t-test. The results of the t-test analysis showed that the application of the classification card media could improve student learning achievement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan Metaphorical Thinking berbantuan Google Classroom terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa SMK SWADHIPA 2 Natar. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMK SWADHIPA 2 Natar yang dipilih dengan teknik random sampling. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasy experimental design menggunakan desain pretest-postest. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan analisis variansi satu jalan sel sama, dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Pengolahan data ini menggunakan Ms. Excel. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pendekatan Metaphorical Thinking berbantuan Google Classroom terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the students’ critical thinking processes in solving plane geometry problems based on cognitive styles and gender styles. This research used the descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this study were four junior high school students selected based on differences in cognitive styles and gender styles. The instrument consisted of the main instruments are researchers and supporting instruments, namely problem-solving instruments, cognitive style instruments, and interview guidelines. The data were collected by means of tests and interviews. The results showed there is a significant difference in critical thinking based on students’ cognitive styles. Students with field independent cognitive style tend to go through critical thinking stages more fully than students with field dependent cognitive style. Besides that, gender differences also have an impact, although not as significant as the cognitive style.
