Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop a numeracy literacy test instrument based on the High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) for class VIII junior high school students. The type of research used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model. The ADDIE model consists of five stages of development, namely: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. A total of 15 questions have been prepared covering the material for straight line equations, functions, coordinate systems, linear equations of two variables and number patterns in odd semesters. The items were validated by three mathematicians, and the calculations were analyzed using the Aiken index. Furthermore, the questions that were declared valid were tested on 34 students in two junior high schools in Makassar City using convenience sampling as a sample selection technique. The experimental data are dichotomous. The data were analyzed using KR-20 to produce a reliability coefficient. This study resulted in a HOTS-based numeric literacy test instrument in the form of multiple choice with a total of 15 valid and reliable questions. 15 items have high category validity, while the reliability coefficient of the item is 0.91, or high category.

Abstract

The logistic model can be applied in the field of biological studies to investigate population growth problems and some important aspects of the ecological situation. This model is a growth model with a limited population growth rate, and ecologists describe this rate as carrying capacity. Carrying capacity can be interpreted as the ideal population size, where individuals in the population can live properly in their environment. The growth rate of a population can be influenced by the harvesting factor, in this case, it is assumed that harvesting is not constant. The effect of the harvest on the growth rate can be analyzed mathematically by using the Holling type III functional response. In this paper, describe the formation of a logistic model taking into account the effects of harvesting, using the Holling type III functional response. Then,  perform a nondimensional process in the model, namely simplifying a model that has four parameters to a model that only has two parameters. Next, determine the equilibrium point of the model, perform a stability analysis at that equilibrium point, and investigate the possibility of bifurcation. As result, first obtained a logistic model which has two non-dimensional parameters, where one of the equilibrium points is zero and is unstable. Next, determine another equilibrium point through an implicit equation and investigate its stability through simulation. Finally, obtained two equilibrium points, which are fold bifurcation.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the formulation of inheritance to know the genotype of the n-th generation in trihybrid crosses with controlled parent genotypes and analyze them by applying the diagonalization of a matrix. Matrix diagonalization makes it easier to find out the inheritance genotype of the n-th generation in trihybrid to obtain superior offspring compared with crossing it one by one, which requires a lot of time and cost. Based on the analysis, an equation for the probability of inheritance was obtained for 27 genotypes of the n-th generation, and the resulting offspring in an infinite generation are likely to have the TTKKBB genotype.

Abstract

Mathematics is a basic science that has an important role. So, to achieve the objectives of learning mathematics, mathematical problem-solving abilities are needed. The mathematical problem-solving ability of the students of SMP PAB 3 Saintis at Deli Serdang is still very low. It is suspected that the Group Investigation and Rotation Trio Exchange learning models can improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of students' problem-solving abilities taught using Group Investigation and Rotation Trio Exchange. Data collection techniques in this research use tests. The tests carried out were students' mathematical problem-solving abilities (pretest and post-test). The data that has been collected is then analyzed using the validity test, reliability test, normality test, homogeneity test, and t-test. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the problem-solving abilities of students taught using Group Investigation were more effective because students using the Group Investigation model had higher learning outcomes with an average score of 83.83 compared to those using Rotation Trio Exchange which obtained an average score of 75.32. Therefore, students' mathematical problem-solving abilities are more appropriate to be taught using Group Investigation rather than Rotation Trio Exchange.

Abstract

The Human Development Index (HDI) is very important in measuring the country's success as an effort to build the quality of life of people in a region, including Indonesia. The government needs to make groupings based on the needs of a city/district. To facilitate data grouping based on the similarity of existing characteristics, it is necessary to have a data grouping method, namely the clustering technique. There are several algorithms that are often used in clustering techniques, namely K-Means and Fuzzy C-Means. Each algorithm has advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, in this research, the comparison of the best clustering algorithms will be discussed. The purpose of this research is to compare the K-Means and Fuzzy C-Means algorithms in the grouping of Regencies/Cities in Central Java Province in 2021 based on the Human Development Index (IPM) indicator. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The data used is obtained from the Central Java Statistics Agency, which is in the form of the Central Java Province HDI indicator in 2021 which consists of 35 Regency/City members and has 4 variables, namely Life Expectancy (AHH) (X1), Expectation of School Years (HLS) (X2), Average Length of School (RLS) (X3) and Expenditure Per Capita (X4). The results showed that after a comparative analysis with the standard deviation ratio method, the FCM clustering method was better than the K-Means method. The value of the FCM standard deviation ratio is 0.460093 and the K-Means standard deviation ratio is 0.473601.
